Pray for them to have the wisdom and the courage to uphold the Supreme Law of the Land, as the best eligibility case to date is distributed to them for conference, today, upon request for a rehearing. In related news, WTPOTUS reader/commenter tdr has requested a new thread in which to discuss a discovery that resulted from diligent work by an intrepid group of citizen bloggers: Miss Tickly, butterdezillion, and ladysforest. Do read and follow all the links in Miss Tickly’s post. In a nutshell, she delineates the significance of the difference between “date filed by registrar” (as seen on Barry’s COLB) and “date accepted by state registrar” (as seen on other Hawaiian COLBs). Of particular interest is the form, pried loose from the HDOH by butterdezillion, which shows how an application is made for a “late” birth certificate.
We here at WTPOTUS have commented upon this topic for several years now, some of it lost to history at TD’s blog. We’ve parsed the HDOH statements and speculated about the meaning of those “date” phrases, too. Speculated, because Hawaii is less than forthcoming with information concerning the exact meaning of those phrases. They say, when asked, that they have no information about it; however, they’re playing games because most certainly some office in Hawaii has such information, else they could not have computerized the various forms. Computer database specifications would clarify all with great specificity, except they hide those, too. Or they imply that the specs have been destroyed or never archived, iirc.
Feel free to comment here on the COLB topic, as well as today’s SCOTUS conference, and any other news of the day or weekend. Keep in mind that if past procedures hold, there will be no decision announced until Monday morning.

National Public Radio said in a statement that it was “appalled” by the comments from Ron Schiller, the president of NPR’s fundraising arm and a senior vice president for development.
The video was posted Tuesday by James O’Keefe, the same activist whose undercover videos have targeted other groups opposed by conservatives, like the community organizing group ACORN and Planned Parenthood.
Schiller had planned to resign from his position before the video was shot and was expected to depart in May. In a statement Tuesday night, however, he said his resignation would be effective immediately.”

I thought one of you linked this story, but I think it came from Free Republic. Anyway, WND covers the fact that NPR people ALSO talked about not covering global warming fairly and, even better, the woman admitted that there IS a question about whether or not Barry was born in the USA. I think, however, that she’s not questioning his “fact”, she’s saying that the fact is that people question it. But do listen to that video. Interestingly enough, she points out that Barry said it’s a fact that he was born in Hawaii WHEN IT WAS A STATE. So tell me, why would this NPR woman mention not just his ALLEGED birth in Hawaii but point out that it was a state when he was born? I know the undercover agents had to be careful not to tip their hands, but I wish that somehow they could have asked her whether or not NPR actually TRIED to verify Barry’s “fact” and what they found out, if they did. 😦

It’s amazing that a so-called journalist apparently takes a politician’s WORD for this “fact”. What are journalists supposed to do? QUESTION. WHO are they particularly supposed to question, given that the Constitution protects freedom of the press, given the rationale the Founders presented when they protected that God-given right? POLITICIANS. It’s amazing to me that this so-called journalist, who’s partially paid by the US taxpayers, would ADMIT that they take this man’s word at face value and actually denigrate citizens, even if they’re conservative, who want verification of his presented “fact”. But, again, why did she specifically add that part about “when it was a state?” Isn’t that curious. Doesn’t that make your antennae go up?
If Hawaii weren’t a state, would he be a NBC? That begs an answer.

Apparently, a lot of the coverage overlooks the fact that they were cozying up with the Muslim Brotherhood, and focused instead on the fact that their people ridiculed the Tea Party, so they’re trying to blame the victim and totally OVERLOOK their sympathy/bias towards Palestinians and against Israel, their sympathy for the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as their racist commentary about “whites” and actually all conservatives.
I guarantee that the fund raising and the issue of government funding, at this critical point in time, is the ONLY reason they did this. Doubtless the only comment they were appalled by was Ron Schiller’s one about how they’d be better off without taxpayer money. It was headlined on Drudge, so that didn’t help. I suppose his reasoning (I didn’t have time to watch the 11 minute video) is that then they could just go ahead with their biased reporting and not have to be concerned with being fair to the over 50% of the population that funds them, but are conservatives.

While calling for less fighting between Republicans and Democrats, President Obama also sent a message last night to critics — the so-called birthers — who say he was not born in the United States (and is therefore ineligible for the presidency).
“I was born in Hawaii, what can I say?” Obama told Democratic donors in Boston. “I can’t change those facts.”
Obama spoke as a state senator in New Hampshire proposes a bill that would require candidates in party presidential primaries to provide birth certificates and affidavits swearing they are at least 35 years old and have lived in the United States for 14 years. It’s a non sequitur. Nobody’s asking him to “change those facts.” We’re asking him to PROVE those “facts”. Why instead does he spend millions to keep from proving them?

Blagojevich asks to cancel retrial

CHICAGO (AP) — The impeached former governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, asked a judge on Wednesday to cancel his retrial and promptly sentence him on the sole conviction from his first trial, arguing that money woes prevent him from mounting an ample defense.
A five-page motion filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago insists that Blagojevich isn’t conceding any guilt, including on the conviction of lying to the FBI. That’s the lone count jurors agreed on at his otherwise deadlocked trial last year. The motion says the broke ex-governor, whose legal bills are supposed to be paid by the government, wants to forego a retrial on grounds that none of his lawyers have been paid for months of pretrial preparations.
Blagojevich, 54, faces a maximum five-year prison term for the lying count. It was widely expected that a sentencing date for that conviction would only be set after the retrial was over.
At that trial do-over, currently scheduled to start on April 20, Blagojevich faces 20 charges, including that he sought to sell or trade an appointment to President Barack Obama’s vacated U.S. Senate seat in exchange for a top job or campaign cash. Many of the outstanding charges that would be the focus of a second trial, including fraud and attempted extortion, carry a far stiffer maximum sentence — 20 years in prison.

I went to Expat’s website to see if anyone had asked to clarify his statements with which you take issue — there was NO clarification asked nor provided.
I considered asking him myself, but found one must use a “Google ID” to post questions at his site…thus I did not submit my question requesting clarification.
Expat’s first sentence with which you take issue states as follows:

Sounds like Expat is saying that the original bc originally showed sr. as father and babyo as infant… was then amended to show Lolo as the father and babysoetoro as the infant…….and then with that amended Lolo/baby soetoro bc, Lolo used it to admit barry soetoro in school.
So perhaps Expat is saying that under Indonesian law baby o was automatically baby soetoro, a natural born indonesian citizen, thus no formal adoption proceeding was necessary.
Perhaps because Indonesian law doesn’t recognize dual citizenship, U.S. law was of no concern.
So, it appears we’re really back to where we’ve always been…
I’ve often considered the possibility that he’s Lolo’s. The youngest daughter resembles Lolo, imho. Lolo was in the US before stories tell us he was. SAD may have been in Hawaii before stories tell us she was. SAD may have had more than one “boyfriend”. Stories her friends tell support that she was, shall we say, a “free spirit.”
I was thinking about the question: Why’d she get a copy of her bc (which was included in her passport file) in 1959? Back in those days, did one need a passport to go to Canada? Did one need a bc to apply for college? Someone already mentioned the possibility of needing it to give up a child for adoption. Maybe to enter a home for unwed mothers? Or to get a passport in 1959. But why? To go where and for what reason? She was only 17 then. I really do suspect that IF there’s an original bc somewhere, there’s no father named on it, unless it was amended to add one; but that would be indicated on the original. Maybe even amended to change the father to another man, at a later date, when he came “back” to Hawaii.
Without going back and reading all of that, iirc, what his point was concerned that under Indonesia law, there was an automatic adoption when a Muslim Indonesian married a woman with children under age 5. IIRC. My memory isn’t great, especially since I’ve been cramming it with Barry facts for nearly 3 years now.
Rep. Peter King receiving threatening phone calls

New York’s Peter King, the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, has been receiving threatening phone calls as he begins his investigation into the threat posed by homegrown Muslim radicals.
“There were some threats from overseas and a number of other remarks,” King told The Hill. “Whatever threat analysis police have done, they believe I warrant security. I don’t ask for it and I certainly don’t turn away any security that police think I should have. I leave it up to them.”
King will receive extra security from the New York Police Department and Nassau County law enforcement. He said that, despite the threats, the hearings would proceed as scheduled.
Administration officials and Democratic lawmakers have been extremely critical of the hearings…

The shipment is seen as a serious escalation in Iran’s state support of the Taliban insurgency, the international intelligence official said. It’s also an escalation in the proxy war Iran is waging against U.S. and other Western forces in Afghanistan, as Washington continues to lobby for tougher international sanctions against Tehran to dissuade it from its alleged goal of building nuclear weapons.
NATO troops captured the rockets, which were being transported in a three-truck convoy, on Feb. 5th in southern Nimruz, near the Iranian and Pakistani borders.
In a separate development, the official said a high-level Afghan Taliban leader had traveled to Iran in the past two weeks to meet with a top Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force leader to ask for more powerful weapons to attack Afghan and NATO troops in the spring and summer fighting season.

Meet the real ‘non-birthers’

Now let’s meet the “non-birthers.” They claim to know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Obama was born in Hawaii and is a “natural born citizen” – even though the meager evidence they cite would suggest the opposite conclusion.
I have yet to see one “birther” on television hurling ad hominem attacks at “non-birthers,” though I see the opposite on a daily basis.
And now, as “birthers” use the orderliness of the political system to press legislation in at least 13 states to ensure America never faces a repeat of the constitutional crisis we face by simply requiring presidential candidates to prove their eligibility before getting on the ballot, the “non-birthers” are virtually apoplectic with rage.
So here is my question for “non-birthers”: If you are so certain Obama meets the test of constitutional eligibility, why are you in an uproar over legislative efforts to ensure future candidates for president all meet the same simple requirements? Is that a rational position? What are they afraid of?
Doesn’t it suggest a lack of confidence in what the facts, when they are eventually on the table, will show? If I were a “non-birther,” I would look forward to the day I could prove to everyone I was right all along – not with loud and strident arguments, but with undeniable facts and documentation.

Clapper, Dir. of Nat. Intelligence, says that China and Russia are the USA’s biggest threats! What? Not Iran, not N. Korea? This guy is speaking to Congress members (Armed Services Comm., Carl Levin) about this nations national security and seems clueless..or else he is worthless when confronted with a basic question. Senator Levin is questioning him..and is astounded by Clapper’s answers. He is the top security officer and seems as worthless as Janet Napolitano.
Can you imagine China or Russia’s reactions to this news? The rebels fighting Gadhafi will be thrilled to hear that the man they are trying to take down will prevail according to Clapper!

Lindsey Graham Calls for General James Clapper’s Resignation

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in an exclusive interview with Fox News correspondent Carl Cameron, called for Gen. James Clapper to resign or be fired as Director of National Intelligence, citing his comments before the Senate Armed Services Committee this morning, on which Graham sits.
Clapper had stated his belief that the Qaddafi regime, in the long term would “prevail,” and also assessed China and Russia to be primary threats to the United States.
Graham told Cameron that he lacks confidence in Clapper’s understanding of his job, that President Obama should “repudiate” Clapper’s remarks, and that this is the third time Clapper has faltered in this way. “Three strikes and you’re out,” Graham said. The earlier missteps cited were Clapper’s ignorance of a major anti-terror raid in London and his recent assertion that the Muslim Brotherhood is essentially a “secular” organization.
Graham said Clapper has a “lack of situational awareness” and was sending the wrong message to Qaddafi and the people in the streets of Libya. He added that Clapper should know better.

When gasoline prices started to rise during the Bush administration the BLM [Blood Libel Media] flooded the airwaves with reports on high gasoline prices, and sob stories of how this would destroy people’s lives. They went into great detail to explain how the cost of gasoline would effect every product we buy, because of increased transportation costs. It was stunning. Not saying the media was wrong, but the priority they gave the coverage was stunning.
What’s even more stunning is the relative lack of coverage the BLM is giving the incredible rise in gasoline prices we are experiencing now. They are giving even less coverage as to why.
Mark Hemmingway at the Weekly Standard has a stunning report. In the first 26 months of the Obama regime, gasoline prices have skyrocketed upwards by an mind-blowing 67 percent! What makes this, and the BLM’s lack of coverage of it, so stunning, is during the first 26 months of Bush’s first term gasoline prices only rose 7 percent!

If the Press can get a copy of the birth certificate for John Edwards’ “love child”, why can’t they manage to get one from Hawaii for Obama?

It’s not “controlling” if it’s a Democrat. Unfaithful Democrats have been “fine presidents” and “good presidents.” That’s the crux of the matter. Newt would arguably be a fine and good president. As opposed to Barry, Gingrich truly is a genius. He’d wiped up the floor with Barry in a debate.
As I said, that’s not excusing him and it certainly is something that I would take into consideration when deciding how honest he would be as president. But it’s the lamestream double standard that’s important here. The very same people who excused Clinton, Edwards, and others, are the ones who hound Newt Gingrich.

He applied for his son’s Social Security Number, received it, then sent the paperwork on to his son. All according to the laws of that state. Okay, I need sleep…what I’m trying to say re the “recent comments” is that I believe some blogs have a section at the sidebar which shows POSTS which have been commented on w/in a designated period (day, ?few days). As it now stands with the recent comment section, one has no way of knowing if old posts have, earlier in the day (or yesterday), received recent comments.
What you see on the side as recent comments is set to the highest it will go. There is no other way to do it. Please give me an example of the blog page that has this i.e., the URL. From what I can tell, our theme doesn’t allow this.
I understand the problem. Miri tried one fix, but the results produced were skewed so it didn’t work.

JAPAN JUST HIT BY A 7.9 QUAKE. THEY HAVE ISSUED A TOP SUNAMI WARNING.
They just said that the number may be as high as 8.8 ! Tsunami waves may be as high as 20 ft. It may create waves that can affect Guam, Taiwan, and Indonesia. This will have a severe impact on Japan.
It was just upgraded to an 8.8 ! Chili was an 8.8 a year ago.
Update: It was just upgraded to an 8.9! It is so large that it could cause or trigger another quake.
They are saying that they may issue a Tsunami warning for Hawaii now. I sincerely pray this does not happen, but it would probably get the only copy of Obummers nonexistent BC.

Oh my gosh , the Tsunami and waves are rushing toward land..unbelievable. These are images coming from the air. The one I am watching is going toward the town and overtaking land quickly. It is devastating..it is picking up homes, cars, debris on its way across the land. This is so frightening. The huge waves or flood waters are headed toward a highway where cars are still driving on it. The rush is happening so quickly! It is unfathomable that this is reality rather than a movie. It is moving across highways, lands, neighborhoods at an unbelievable pace.

Rep. Allen West slams military diversity report

The Military Leadership Diversity Commission’s (MLDC) conclusion this week that there are too many white men in senior positions in the military “is a slap in the face” to those minorities who have achieved seniority, according to retired Lt. Colonel and Florida Republican Rep. Allen West.
According to the MLDC’s report, released Monday, 77 percent of active duty senior officers are white, 8 percent are black, 5 percent are Hispanic and 16 percent are women. The report suggested the lack of minorities in military leadership is something that needs to change.
In an interview with The Daily Caller, West, who is black, was not pleased with the report, saying that the military is not a social experiment for outside groups to impose their theories. Rather, he said, it is a merit based organization where anybody can succeed.
West suspects that the military as an institution is targeted by liberals because of the things it represents. “The military stands for things that liberals don’t care for: standards, discipline, honor, character. And those are things they don’t like because they believe everyone should be equal…that is not what the military is all about.”

I heard Sarah Palin on Hannity last night. She was on a roll. She’s getting very quick on her feet and sounds so sure of herself and knowledgeable when answering questions. She was sticking it to Barry, too. Have you noticed how little coverage there is lately of Sarah? Dana Milbank spilled the beans a few months ago that he (at least) was going to make an effort to ignore Sarah and not mention her in his columns. I started watching the lamestream after that statement and did notice what seems to be a concerted effort to ignore whatever Sarah says. Probably another WH order to the reconstituted Journolist. Sarah draws media wherever she goes. They’re afraid of her and her growing power to connect with people (hey, even union workers!), so they’re going to ignore any news about Sarah, just like they ignore news about Barry’s ineligibility.
