Fake Biography? Hmm.

This story caught my eye the other day:

George Santos, whose election to Congress on Long Island in New York last month helped Republicans clinch a narrow majority in the House of Representatives, built his candidacy on the notion that he was the “full embodiment of the American dream” and was running to safeguard it for others.

Tale of Two Comedians

Do you remember Wanda Sykes, the alleged comedian, who during a performance in 2016 called then-President-elect Trump “racist, sexist” and “homophobic?” When audience members booed her “jokes” about the future President, she attacked them saying,

Stormy’s Lawyer and Hillary’s Mouth

Several interesting items appeared in the news, recently. One national, the other local, but touching upon a national story.

The first item comes from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The story provides local interest attached to the saga of Stormy Daniels, the woman who allegedly had an “intimate relationship” with now-President Donald J. Trump over a decade ago. The war on statues spread to Catholic saints this weekend while a judge in Georgia lost his job because he criticized the monument vandals.

Vandals spray-painted a statue of Junipero Serra at a Los Angeles park across the street from Mission San Fernando on Thursday. A photo of the vandalized statue has gone viral.

Thoughts in the New Year

god-copy

I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping for a lot of change in the “popular culture” over the next few years. Hoping, but not convinced that it will happen–the phonies and hypocrites among us are too fond of their special snowflake identities.

Boycott the Oscars?

movingpicturequeen - Copy

In keeping with the current reality of everything coming down to race in our supposedly post-racial nation (as expected and promised–but not fulfilled–by the election of Obama), controversy is brewing over a lack of Academy Awards nominations for black actors, directors, or movies:

Outrage erupted online Thursday about the lack of diversity in this year’s Academy Awards nominations, and stars are continuing to weigh in.
