All Eyes on Brennan

President Trump has rightly pulled the top secret security clearance of the former CIA director under Barack Obama, John Brennan. Mainstream media and progressives seem to have settled upon the notion that President Trump pulled Brennan’s clearance, and may do the same for other former members of Obama’s administration, out of revenge, spite, to violate their free speech rights and/or, especially, to keep them from cashing in on the benefits of having security clearance.

As the Tables Turn: Lynch Goes Under the Microscope

Several recent developments will be interesting to follow in the mainstream media. It’s their turn to squirm now. An article in the New York Post says that a special counsel may “probe Team Obama’s obstruction of justice.”

Whether or not an investigator is appointed, Congress itself intends to investigate former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and her potential obstruction of justice and politicization of the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal email server.

Where’s the Smoking Gun?

Representative Devin Nunes is now going to have a closed door session with FBI Director James Comey and NSA Director Mike Rogers, as the House Intelligence Committee looks into “topics” that include whether the Obama administration used the guise of “legally authorized top-secret surveillance of foreign targets” to spy on the Trump transition team and spread throughout the government, far and wide, “unmasked” information concerning what the Trump team was doing and to whom they were talking between the November election and Trump’s inauguration.

Evidence of Mendacity

You’d have to be living in a cave not to know that President Trump has called out the activities of Obama’s “shadow government” on Twitter. The reaction of the mainstream media has been predictable and totally laughable.

The incident we’re going to talk about happened five years ago, but given the current interest in presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s email, it warrants another look (although we haven’t discussed this case here before today).

NSA Spins to the House Intelligence Committee (Open Thread)

Today we were treated to a hearing during which General Keith B. Alexander of the National Security Agency (NSA) tried once again to explain to We the People why we shouldn’t be concerned that the NSA stores metadata from all of our phone calls.  Also testifying were representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This was basically a propaganda operation combined with a love fest, with much parsing thrown in.  During opening statements, we were assured by committee members and witnesses alike that “safeguards” are in place to secure the information. [Would those be the very same safeguards that did not prevent low-level, undereducated “system administrator” Edward Joseph Snowden from copying and disseminating top secret documents to the entire world?]

Big Bro is Watching You!!! (Open Thread)

Now we know for certain what we’ve suspected all along.  Obama is Big Bro.  Yesterday, the UK’s Guardian newspaper did the citizens of the U.S. a huge favor by revealing that our government has put out a dragnet for all of our digital communications. Don’t be fooled. It IS for ALL of our communications. They’re building a huge storage facility in Utah that will be “online” soon.

AP Phone Records Scandal: You Rang? (Open Thread)

By now, almost everyone is aware of three scandals currently plaguing the Obama administration:  Benghazi talking points, IRS targeting of conservatives, and the Department of Justice (DOJ) subpoenaing telephone records of AP reporters to investigate an alleged national security leak.  Let’s look at that last scandal in more depth.
