As the Tables Turn: Lynch Goes Under the Microscope

Several recent developments will be interesting to follow in the mainstream media. It’s their turn to squirm now. An article in the New York Post says that a special counsel may “probe Team Obama’s obstruction of justice.”

Whether or not an investigator is appointed, Congress itself intends to investigate former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and her potential obstruction of justice and politicization of the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal email server.

Yesterday, U.S. President Donald J. Trump ordered a Tomahawk missile attack on an airbase in Syria, in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack against Syrian civilians, allegedly perpetrated by forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Let’s Make a Deal — for Illegal Aliens (Open Thread)

Senate Agreement to Bolster Border Security [Note: “Bolster” is not the same as “SECURE” or “CLOSE”.  Nor is “strengthen.”]

An agreement to strengthen border security is expected to be announced today around 11:00 AM with broader support, including from the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” senators who drafted the original legislation.

ABC News has confirmed that the Senate “Gang of Eight” along with other senators have reached an agreement to strengthen border security provisions in their bill that they hope will deliver the 70 crucial votes needed for the measure. Continue reading

Tsarnaev Brothers Had No Gun Permits (Open Thread)

Last week, the Senate voted down expanded background checks, which would have covered all “advertised” private gun sales.  After the Boston Massacre of 4/15/2013, gun control advocates began predictably to call once again for more gun control legislation, and added control of the purchase of black powder, which allows a person to make or reload ammunition.  As many news reports have pointed out:   the Muslim Tsarnaev brothers had no permits to carry weapons, and yet they did, nonetheless.  Continue reading
