The erstwhile basketball player formerly known as Lew Alcindor has weighed in on presidential candidate Ben Carson’s statement that he would think twice before putting a Muslim in charge of our country. In so doing, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has in a way confirmed the reason why Carson made such a statement in the first place. At least, that’s my take on what Abdul-Jabbar said.

Who knew that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is so much more than a great athlete? He’s also a deep-thinking philosopher, a great writer, and an all around gutsy guy when it comes to speaking his mind fearlessly–the latter becoming increasingly rare in the age of political correctness, not to mention Obama’s NSA.
