Robert E. Crimo III, 21 years old, has been arrested as a “person of interest” in the mass shooting yesterday in Highland Park, IL.

Damned Lies and Statistics

 

The far left and their minions in academia and the media love to play with and distort statistics. Given the recent spate of “mass shootings” across the nation, it behooves us to examine what critieria were used for the lastest claim–that there have been more than 250 “mass shootings” so far this year. An astounding figure!

… another “mass shooting” and the mainstream media cannot wait to blame “the far right.”

How Does This Happen?

A man has shot himself to death very near to the White House. How does this happen? How did an armed person get so close to the White House, when the entire DC area is a “gun-free zone?”

Madre Dearest

How fitting that Hillary Clinton’s campaign minions, people at the Clinton Foundation, and possibly even CNN reporters refer to Hillary as Madre. After all, the woman wants to run everybody’s life, as if every other human being on the planet is too stupid, “deplorable,” or “irredeemable” to be trusted with any decision, no matter how minuscule.  She wants to be our mother, you see, but forever–she never wants us to grow up. We’ll be in her nest for all time. Hillary, the mother from Hell.

Obama’s Executive Actions to Take Guns from Social Security Recipients?

I couldn’t and wouldn’t watch Barack Obama’s town hall about his recent executive actions concerning guns. (Note: They are actions, not executive orders. To date, there’s no officially published executive ORDER on this topic at the White House website.)

In the course of the town hall, did anyone mention the Obama policy to  encourage the Social Security Administration to rat out beneficiaries who have others handling their financial affairs, for any reason? I’ll bet not.

Gun “Laws” and the Constitution

Some states intend to “explore” ways to block those on terror watch lists from buying guns. Already, according to this story, the state of New Jersey blocks people on the list from purchasing guns, something which would seem to be unconstitutional. Consider the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Owning a gun is a Constitutional right, not just a privilege, like driving a car. In addition, the Constitution requires “due process”, which is not something that occurs when someone is added to terror watch lists by anonymous bureaucrats.

Jihad and Gun Control

Global warming did NOT cause the Islamic terror attack in California, nor did “strain,” desperation, or a lack of food.

The lack of a job did NOT cause the Islamic terror attack in CA.

Poverty did NOT cause the Islamic terror attack in CA.

Drought did NOT cause the Islamic terror attack in CA.

Obama’s Sampling and Selection Bias

After reading Obama’s speech about the Oregon shooting, I noticed something interesting, perhaps instructive.
