The New Iron Curtain

Today is the 75th anniversary of Sir Winston Churchill’s Iron Curtain Speech, otherwise known as “The Sinews of Peace”, in which Churchill warned about the dangers of communism.

Delivered on March 5, 1946, in Fulton, MO, Churchill touched upon issues that remain pertinent today, as a new Iron Curtain has descended across the United States Capitol, circling the entire complex, separating Congress (our so-called representatives) from We the People.

What was once open and free to all, a symbol of our great Republic, a shining city on a hill, is now a fortress, militarized against the Republic’s own citizens, manned by thousands of uniformed and armed  National Guard troops.

Détente with the Left?

In the aftermath of the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Steve Hilton has called for  people to embrace their “humanity” and end the “madness” exhibited by most Democrats, some members of the media, and all the radical leftists who now promise to “burn” the system down, or “blow” it up, or riot, because once again they intend to do everything in their power to deny President Trump the powers of the office to which he was elected in 2016, in this instance the power to nominate Ginsburg’s replacement.

Weaponized Hit?

Once upon a time, people were innocent until proven guilty. Once upon a time, the mainstream media would not smear someone first and ask questions later. Once upon a time, the mainstream media would not smear someone, destroy his reputation, destroy his livelihood, without proof that the allegations they were making were at least probably true, based upon substantial evidence, if only to protect themselves from lawsuits.

Attacking the Messenger; Ignoring the Message

The mainstream media, the Democrat Party, the erstwhile losing Clinton campaign, and progressives everywhere are still hyperventilating about the Russians allegedly interfering in the 2016 election. There’s no proof, of course, and this is not an opinion shared by all of our intelligence agencies. The FBI, for instance, does not agree on Russia’s alleged motive, even if Russia were behind the hacks of the DNC and John Podesta’s email. As might be expected after all this brouhaha, the CIA apparently now denies the entire scenario.
