This weekend we were treated to a puff piece by PARADE that told us all about how hard Mr. and Mrs. Barack Obama “struggled” when they worked menial minimum-wage jobs while growing up and pinched pennies to support themselves and their two young children after they both graduated from law school. It’s almost as if the authors (Lynn Sherr and Maggie Murphy) did no fact checking but accepted the Obama narrative as presented to them.

In honor of the 21st wedding anniversary of the First Couple, we reprise this story (h/t Papoose):
A Chicago neighborhood has erected a granite boulder with a plaque as a monument to the Obamas’ first kiss. As Obama related: [emphasis added to quotes]
On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate.

Our theme for this episode of Obama Mystery Theater is babysitting. Several strange and disturbing stories revolve around the Obama family and its babysitters. There are also some very interesting connections.
First, we have Mary Toutonghi, the woman who claims that she babysat for the future U.S. president Barack Hussein Obama II when he was just a wee “pink” lad. Trouble is, just months prior, Toutonghi didn’t mention that amazing connection when she spoke to an Alaskan reporter about vandals trashing her Obama-for-president yard signs. Continue reading

Below is a partial transcript of the text (minus footnotes) of an article allegedly written by Barack Hussein Obama II in 1990, when he was president of the Harvard Law Review. The article was published in the April 1990 Harvard Law Revue, which is a parody produced by the editorial staff of the Harvard Law Review. As usual, Obama wrote about his favorite topic: himself. In 2003 a dinner was held to honor former PLO “operative” and anti-Semite Rashid Khalidi
. Barack Hussein Obama II attended that event, which was videotaped. Obama spoke at the event.
During the campaign of 2008, Obama’s attendance at the dinner became an issue in the campaign, not only because Rashid Khalidi was guest of honor, but also because Khalidi was good friends
with unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers whose wife is unrepentant, radical, Charles-Manson-praising Bernardine Dohrn. It was rumored that Ayers and Dohrn were also in attendance. Continue reading
