Two stories in the news form a curious juxtaposition. There’s the case of a rescued rat, purportedly female. We won’t delve into how one sexes a rat, but perhaps her sex is serendipitous to our juxtaposition–pertinent that she is a she and that she’s probably also pregnant, which may explain her unfortunate encounter with a too-snug sewer grating. Forty-two years ago today, the Supreme Court issued a decision recognizing a Constitutional “right” to have an abortion:
The Court issued its decision on January 22, 1973, with a 7-to-2 majority vote in favor of Roe. Burger and Douglas’ concurring opinions and White’s dissenting opinion were issued along with the Court’s opinion in Doe v. Bolton (announced on the same day as Roe v. Wade). The Court deemed abortion a fundamental right under the United States Constitution, thereby subjecting all laws attempting to restrict it to the standard of strict scrutiny.
After the terror attack of 9/11/01, the people of this country rallied around the city and state of New York and their people. Now they have elected a governor who, like fellow Democrat Barack Hussein Obama II, seems to despise and feel disdain for many of his fellow citizens. Is this going to be Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Phil Robertson moment? Will Cuomo get the Paula Deen treatment?
A few days ago, Cuomo said something that’s completely outrageous for any governor to say, but especially for the governor of a state that collects a lot of money from tourism and businesses via taxes.

That’s the face of Kermit Gosnell, a Pennsylvania abortionist who is currently on trial for murder. It’s also the face of evil. Don’t know his name? Not familiar with that face? Join the club. You’re far from alone, because his is a story that the mainstream media does not want to tell. Gosnell is on trial, has been on trial for nearly a month, and yet you wouldn’t know it if you got your news only from the mainstream media. Continue reading
