The outrage at the IRS continues. By now, nearly everyone knows that Tea Party, 9/12, “patriot”, and other conservative groups, including religious groups, were specifically targeted by the IRS, after Obama and his party were “shellacked” (by the Tea Party) in the 2010 election and after the Supreme Court issued the Citizens United decision, affirming that such groups have free speech rights under the U.S. Constitution. The word of the day is irrelevant. What’s relevant is that irrelevant is a word that Dan Pfeiffer, an Obama spokesperson and aide, used at least three times when speaking about Obama’s recent hat trick of scandals. Like Susan Rice after Benghazi, Pfeiffer appeared on five Sunday shows this week, in an apparent attempt to spin, spin, spin away the blowback from the scandals. Continue reading
