It’s HIDEOUS. Of course, it will be politically incorrect to say so because the “sculptor” is black. Is it art when all you did was excise a portion of a (copywrited?) photo, make it 3D, have it made into a model, and then cast it in bronze? If I make a leaf rubbing, is that art? People are saying it looks like a turd, a penis, or (most grossly) oral sex. Like all art, I suppose it’s in the eye of the beholder. I’m just saying that it’s not hard for the “artist” to create this and most of the work was done, I’d guess, by the technicians (bronze workers) who ACTUALLY created it. This artist didn’t. Unless I’m mistaken. Fairey, btw, uses a host of mostly foreign, slave-wage recipients.
