Two similar incidents have inspired a question: Is it even safe for conservatives to patronize restaurants (especially with their families)? What is going on in the USA, when we have Trump supporters being publicly “shamed” in restaurants?
Warning to all Trump supporters: Do not be openly conservative or you shall be attacked, shamed, and driven from the public sphere. What’s next? An Inquisition? Burnings at the stake? A High Sparrow to community organize the Faith Militant so they can throw all conservatives into a dungeon until they “confess” and “atone?”
First there was the case of Eugenior Joseph, who was mobbed and verbally abused and aggressively intimidated by staff (the Faith Militant) of a Cheesecake Factory restaurant for daring to wear a MAGA hat in public:
On Mother’s Day, employees at a Cheesecake Factory in Miami, Florida, verbally attacked and made threatening gestures toward a black man who dined with his girlfriend’s family simply because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat …
According to multiple witnesses and Joseph’s own account, a woman who worked at the restaurant walked up to him and started pointing at his hat, signaling for the other employees to come over. …
At that point, approximately a dozen or so employees approached the table and began making comments about the hat, with some saying they wanted to punch Joseph in the face. Witnesses also allege that some of the employees also referred to him as a “n**ger” in their conversations among each other. …
One of the employees gave Joseph intimidating looks, clenching his fists and making hand gestures that appeared to indicate that he was ready to engage in a fistfight. …
Employees at the restaurant continued to mock and intimidate Joseph after he got up to use the restroom. …
Another witness verified the claims, saying that the employees in the kitchen were booing Joseph loudly as he walked by. …
Conservatives be warned: Do not publicly support President Trump, lest you be punished by a modern-day, “progressive” lynch mob (aka the Faith Militant).
But, of course, that’s what the left wants–to drive you underground and, especially, to eliminate any public show of support for the president.
Thou shalt not support Trump!
Or else there’s Hell to Pay.
Next there’s the case of Tomi Lahren, who was dining with her mother and was hatefully accosted and assaulted, this time by restaurant patrons:
While visiting a Minneapolis restaurant with her mother for brunch over the weekend, Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren was verbally and physically attacked, seemingly for her political views.
In videos posted to social media, Lahren is seen being cursed out by restaurant customers who call her a “b****,” “racist” and a “c***.” In a proudly-posted video, one woman throws a drink on the 25-year-old as she exits the establishment.
One man, being cheered on, spewed the following at Lahren: “F*** that b****. F*** this h**. Racist ass b****. Why you even out here? Get this b**** out of here. F*** that b****.”
The woman who posted the video captioned the post, “Whoever the guy is that cussed her out, I hope you’re having an amazing day.”
Another video posted by the same user was captioned, “Whoever threw this drink at Tomi Lahren, thank you.” And the snap-chatted video reads, “Throws a drink at Tomi Lahren hahahaha … Thanks for the screenshots I did it lol.”
Whoever the guy is who called Ms. Lahren the b-word and the h-word and a racist should be visited by the police, who should investigate this as a hate crime.
Obviously, in the first instance, what happened to Mr. Joseph was also a hate crime.
As well, the woman who threw a drink on Ms. Lahren should be investigated for assault, but don’t expect that to happen. Lahren will be lucky if the restaurant gives her a free dinner to make it up to her.
All of these thuggish perpetrators should be investigated for violating civil rights laws, given their goal of silencing the free speech rights of other citizens. The Dept. of Justice should investigate this dangerous trend as terrorism and a threat to our democracy (to borrow the left’s line).
The left has become what they profess to hate: Racists, bullies, fanatics, haters, misogynists, zealots, Puritans, Inquisitors, Sparrows.
Where will this all end?

I think it will end when the leaders of the country stand up and set the example and denounce all violence. They have to in order to have a safer union.

Thanks, although I started off with a lot more equanimity than I exhibit now. I think I’m suffering from PTSD after the last administration. A lot of fear that “they” may not lose the next election and it’s frightening to consider. I don’t know if our Republic can survive, especially with social media and the mainstream media so in the tank and biased. (Not to mention some in the “intelligence community” and elsewhere in the government.)
It for sure is a fearful thing and it is hard to keep emotions in check at times and especially through the divisiveness that social media constructs. Social media and big mainstream networks has created this love and affixation for the federal government when in fact they are not is what is most important. The one thing that I always want to get across is that the real power should be in the local and state governments and that the federal government is but a creation of the states with limited powers to protect the union. There power has gone unchecked and it is just veery difficult to reign in back in.
Yep! That’s the way it’s supposed to be. Local and state governments with very limited federal government. They gave the progressives an inch and they took the entire Republic. I don’t know what it would take to “reign it back in,” but I hope Trump’s trying.

I thought of another analogy. In TGOT, Queen Marjaery seemingly acquiesces to a public shaming for her self-admitted crime of virtue signaling–something the progressives do constantly (just look at this past week with “separation of children from their mothers”). Marjaery repented because she only pretended to care about the poor and the children she used her wealth to help, admitting that she really only cared about appearing to be good.
