Chuck Berry, RIP

Chuck Berry died today. He shall be missed.

Chuck Berry, the singer, songwriter and guitar great who practically defined rock music with his impeccably twangy hits “Maybellene,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” “Memphis,” “My Ding-a-Ling” and “Sweet Little Sixteen,” has died. He was 90.

The singer/songwriter, whose classic “Johnny B. Goode” was chosen by Carl Sagan to be included on the golden record of Earth Sounds and Music launched with Voyager in 1977, died Saturday afternoon, St. Charles County Police Department confirmed. The cause of death was not revealed.

During his 60-plus years in show business, Berry in 1986 became one of the first inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He entered The Blues Foundation’s Blues Hall of Fame in ’85 and that year also received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. …

Chuck Berry’s music was part of the soundtrack of our lives–We the Baby Boomers. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family and fans.

A timeline for subversion? Oh, my goodness. Maya returns! When’s the last time we saw her mentioned?

    • facebkwallflower

Yeah, I think the last time Maya was mentioned was actually here; a long time ago.

Most of America do not even know about her or his name having been Soetoro, at least comments I am seeing around town indicates this. Even people commenting at CTH did not know. (I wanted to to link here for them to learn from the exhaustive discussions on her but SD took my commenting privileges away 😦 Ha, should have quit while I was head but went by the way of the others that challenged Ryancare and SD mocking/name calling those that did not agree with him. His house, his rules. I get that.)

It is amazing how much the general masses never learned about Barry. the Dems heard and debunked it as lies and conservative sites/blogs allowed themselves to be Alynskied into not letting the info on their comment boards for fear of being labeled “birthers”. And now news and info that is old here is just breaking elsewhere. How times have changed. There was a time if I linked to an article here, I was banned from a site and now if link here for this “new” news, it is all fine and dandy. Are people actually becoming open-minded?

      • Suddenly Barry cares about little sis. I wonder if she was a go-between of some kind? Otherwise, why the sudden brotherly concern?

Was it really SD who banned you or someone else? There are some mods over there who are, shall we say, quite catty. Just sayin’. There’s bad blood with some others here, too, but they do have such good insight sometimes that I can’t stop reading there, at least.

Really? Some blog banned you for linking to us? My gosh. What the heck did we have that was so incendiary? We at least try very hard to link to actual sources for anything we say. Problem is, like Trump citing the New York Times or Fox News, just because HE cites it, it’s as if he wrote the FAKE NEWS. It cracks me up how now the NY Times seems to disavow their own reporting and criticize Trump for citing THEM to prove the wiretapping! It makes my head spin.

IF they’d only have really reported on Barry, things would be so different today. Or Clinton. I mean, they’re still protecting her. What about that laptop that was stolen? Aren’t they the least bit curious? No. Because THEY KNOW what’s going on. They’re on her side. Speaking of on her side, did you notice she and her body woman are tight again? Hillary, with $3700 worth of hairdo and purse! How many hungry children could be fed with $2500 (for the purse) versus a $25 purse from J.C. Penney (that actually looks better than that thing she has)? But Hillary’s concerned about the little people. Btw, where does she get the dough for a $2500 purse and a $1200 hairdo?

        • Check it out: Is that her “doctor” with her? The one who was there when she seized during the campaign and had to be frog-marched to the black SUV where she collapsed?

$1200 for the hairdo. I could have done it for her in my kitchen for about $8 (for the dye). I would donate my hair cutting services. I’m pretty good at it, actually. Been cutting “hairs” for years. Saves a LOT of money.

Does she STILL get Secret Service protection?

          Fishnet stockings on Huma? Yikes.

        • facebkwallflower

Yeah, and you would think both gals would look a lot better after that expensive “grooming”. (I think of dogs when I use that word.)

Oh yes about getting banned. WTPOTUS was THE birther resource and so many did not want to be associated with birthers. Only recently CTH allows references to Barry being Barry and where the heck he is from??? Back in the days of the precursor to CTH, Sundance actually wrote an extensive article about the constitutional crisis that would ensue if birther stuff pushed and Obama found to be illegitimate president. He used the article to “flush out” birthers. I made a ference to that article in a comment recently so think it likely he was one that banned me. Only “open threads” were transferred to “Honey Trail Redux” so none of SD’s articles saved. It was not up long enough to get on wayback I guess. (Not sure if this site was up and running then)

I, like you, do read over there (and I commented too) because of a lot of good stuff but do not think SD is the hero and insighful oh wise one that so many praise him to be. I love the comment section, though. Some really good insights and even counterbalances to SD’s OCD agendas but sadly, eventually the great thinkers just disappear. There are others, though, that have more tact than some of us and do get to stay around even though disagree with the admins.

NYT — ditto to what you say!

Back to getting banned for linking here…that was the “old” days. I think now people are hungry to learn more and so many tinfoil hat stuff has proved correct that nobody discounts the stories and research now. Obama is not president so I guess we can now openly talk about it. Still cannot believe people never heard of Maya??????

  2. Reblogged this on hocuspocus13 and commented:

    • So the British INTERFERED in our election by (1) spying for Barry and (2) fabricating a dossier, all in order to HELP CLINTON win the election. Now, it’s true that they failed, but the intent was there and easily one could assume Clinton collaborated on this, along with Barry and other DemoncRATS. Where’s the investigation into THIS interference? What difference does it make (at this point) WHICH country interfered, Britain or Russia? IF a U.S. candidate was colluding with FOREIGNERS to smear an opponent, well then …

And check this out. There were THREE attempts to get FISA warrants. June, JULY, and October. The first two were REJECTED.

“… The CIA cannot act domestically against American citizens so a joint counter-intelligence taskforce was created.

The taskforce included six agencies or departments of government. Dealing with the domestic, US, side of the inquiry, were the FBI, the Department of the Treasury, and the Department of Justice. For the foreign and intelligence aspects of the investigation, there were another three agencies: the CIA, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the National Security Agency, responsible for electronic spying. …

Neither Mr Trump nor his associates are named in the Fisa order, which would only cover foreign citizens or foreign entities – in this case the Russian banks. But ultimately, the investigation is looking for transfers of money from Russia to the United States, each one, if proved, a felony offence.

A lawyer- outside the Department of Justice but familiar with the case – told me that three of Mr Trump’s associates were the subject of the inquiry. “But it’s clear this is about Trump,” he said. …

The investigation was active going into the election. During that period, the leader of the Democrats in the Senate, Harry Reid, wrote to the director of the FBI, accusing him of holding back “explosive information” about Mr Trump.

Mr Reid sent his letter after getting an intelligence briefing, along with other senior figures in Congress. Only eight people were present: the chairs and ranking minority members of the House and Senate intelligence committees, and the leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties in Congress, the “gang of eight” as they are sometimes called. Normally, senior staff attend “gang of eight” intelligence briefings, but not this time. The Congressional leaders were not even allowed to take notes. …

During the final presidential debate, Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump a “puppet” of Russia’s leader, Vladimir Putin. “No puppet. No puppet,” Mr Trump interjected, talking over Mrs Clinton. “You’re the puppet. No, you’re the puppet.”

In a New York Times op-ed in August, the former director of the CIA, Michael Morell, wrote: “In the intelligence business, we would say that Mr Putin had recruited Mr Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation.”

Agent; puppet – both terms imply some measure of influence or control by Moscow.

Michael Hayden, former head of both the CIA and the NSA, simply called Mr Trump a “polezni durak” – a useful fool.

The background to those statements was information held – at the time – within the intelligence community. Now all Americans have heard the claims. …”

And now, OBVIOUSLY, whatever was given in those top secret intelligence briefings was ILLEGALLY SHARED WITH REID AND CLINTON.

    • I had not read this one before, but look how insane they are and how they PARSE to make it look as if Trump’s lying.

” … The Times (and others) has made clear, these investigations have been conducted by the F.B.I., intelligence agencies and Congress, not by Obama himself. The Times has also said Obama administration officials sought to spread intelligence about a possible link between Trump and Russia to ensure a trail of evidence for investigators, but it said Obama himself was not involved. And no Times reporter has claimed that any warrants have been issued to spy on Trump or his associates.

Distinguishing between Trump’s assertions and The Times’s reporting is essential. …

I reached out to editors in the Washington bureau [of the NT Times] to seek their help in clarifying the difference between Clapper’s — and The Times’s — assertions that no warrants had been issued, and the reference to wiretapping in the January story.

Elisabeth Bumiller, the bureau chief, said the January story was referring to information picked up from wiretaps and other intelligence collected overseas, a process that requires no warrants. …”

A-holes. That’s what I have to say. This is a “difference” without any distinction. So they admit the spying was done OVERSEAS and that it was WIRETAPPED and they act as if “old wiretaps” somehow differ from new ones. And they admit there was no WARRANT, so of course there would be no documentation because they framed this exactly in a way that would allow them to not have to get a warrant. And they had foreigners do it for them and pass them the information. What else can you deduce from the spying being done overseas? That’s fo shizzle. We know. We’re not stupid.

And if it’s true that an American can’t be wiretapped without a warrant, then how did they record Lt. Gen. Flynn’s conversation WITHOUT ONE?

    • ” “… the NSA headquarters [at Fort Meade, Md.] is also the chief British espionage base in the United States. The presence of British wiretappers at the keyboards of American eavesdropping computers is a closely guarded secret….”

“The NSA is a giant vacuum cleaner. It sucks in every form of electronic information, from telephone calls to telegrams, across the United States. The presence of British personnel is essential for the American wiretappers to claim plausible deniability.

“Here’s how the game is played. The British liaison officer at [NSA Hq] Fort Meade types the [NSA-supplied] target list of ‘suspects’ into the American computer. The NSA computer sorts through its wiretaps and gives the British officer the recording of any American citizen he wants.

“Since it is technically a British target of surveillance, no American search warrant is necessary. [Loftus’ italics] The British officer then simply hands the results over to his American liaison officer. Of course, the Americans provide the same service to the British in return….”

“According to our sources, this duplicitous, reciprocal arrangement disguises the most massive, and illegal, domestic espionage apparatus in the world….

“Through this charade, the intelligence services of each country can claim that they are not targeting their own citizens. The targeting is done by an authorized foreign agent, the intelligence liaison resident in Britain or the United States” [Loftus, pp. 189-190; endnotes omitted]. …”

  3. RIP Chuck Berry
Here’s an interesting read. The cast of characters melding… hmmm.
    Nail, meet Hammer?

    • Do you think that Trump HAS THE GOODS and that’s why, suddenly, Hillary’s supporter Morell and Clapper are SUDDENLY avowing that there’s no evidence of Russian collusion with Trump? Hoping that nothing will “tarnish” Barry’s “legacy” beyond what he’s already tarnished by his own actions? If Trump even thinks about giving Barry a pass, he ought to seriously consider investigating the role Barry may have played recently in Hawaii. Judges can be impeached, I believe.

  4. Sending prayers to the grieving. ❤

    • I fear so. This ceases to be curious and is becoming extremely dangerous. Somewhere, someone said that they’re “trying to make Trump quit.” That may be so. Consider, also, that the plans to Trump Tower, where his family stays, were stolen by someone who sounds almost like he pulled off a Sandy Burlar caper. In any case, now Trump has to be concerned about Melania and Barron. Even the WH may not be safe for his family and now Trump Tower, possibly. So, are they trying to make her fearful and get her to pressure him to step down? I put NOTHING past them. They will try anything, by any means necessary, to win back power or, at the least, stop Trump’s agenda. As for the laptop, why the hell did a so-called Secret Service agent leave something SO SENSITIVE in her car, on her driveway? Have you seen the “car”? It’s more like a motorcycle with a roof. SO EASY to break into, but the story is that it was UNLOCKED. Supposedly, the person took an Uber (should be traceable, right?) to her house at 3 a.m., got out, stole the stuff from her car and hers alone, and then WALKED AWAY. Should be on surveillance video, somewhere. Right? Other items stolen were ditched in the neighborhood, but not that laptop. Remember SS black guy who went everywhere with Hill? Would he, possibly, know how to unlock such a laptop? Hmmm. Second–why the HELL did a Secret Service agent allegedly have information about the FBI investigation into Hillary’s emails on her laptop? Does the Secret Service get involved in such investigations? They used to, for financial crimes, didn’t they? IF she’s an agent, IF she’s a lawyer, she should be fired. ANYBODY who works for any government knows not to put at risk government property, especially laptops with sensitive information on them. This is basic government employee 101. It’s FISHY in the extreme. Who hired this woman? When? To whom is she loyal? How did the person who stole the laptop know where it would be and when and what was on it? Why did she leave it in her UNLOCKED car?

    • He’s like Zelig or Forrest Gump. Keeps showing up with celebrities of all kinds and former presidents, too. Ha, ha. Great. (I met Chuck and family once. WAY back in time. WAY, way back. I was 15, iirc. I met Tina Turner, too.)

    • facebkwallflower

Some are saying this pic is photoshopped. What do you think? does head shadow of Trump match head? Would shadow be on both sides? Does his shadow look like he should be sporting a “for”?

I ask because I found it strange a liberal site giving history of Berry included this pic AND mentioned Chuck’s criminal history and taking a 14 year old girl prostitute across state lines and commenting that she was experieced. Sort of like trying to connect Trump to this type of behavior.

      • I wondered about it. But the hands look real. Of course, they may be playing “head games” and replacing the heads. It looks like Trump to me, though. The shadow on the other side appears to belong to the head of the guy on the left, who’s out of the frame.

Okey dokey. Found it at Getty images. It’s from 1988, apparently. REAL NEWS!

Now, nothing would surprise me about them trying to insinuate anything about Trump. btw, I learned something new today. I always knew about the 14-year-old girl, but I didn’t know that she was Native American. Always assumed she was white because of the claims that he was only prosecuted by racist white cops and politicians because they hate blacks. I clearly remember the news about Chuck shooting videos in the bathrooms of the restaurant he owned. Creepy. He admitted to it. 75 women, iirc, got reparations from him.

        • facebkwallflower

I never knew any of it until today. Only knew he was “Rock and Roll” icon. I don’t think I will ever listen to his music in the same way again. Disgusting, even if a musical genius.

          • Oh, yeah. Lots of geniuses are very flawed. The media, as usual, hide these flaws, depending upon the color or politics of the person. They’d likely tell you he was victimized by his early childhood and racism, so really, if you’re white–it’s your fault he liked little girls and spied on 75 women in the restroom. Michael Jackson had his probs, too (pervert-wise), but I still can’t help liking his music. Now Stevie Wonder–he’s a wonder and so far as I know, no hint of perversion or crime. Not that the media would tell us if it were so. 🙂

what are the double ears on Donald when pic is blown up?

Ha! I was just going to post this same article. So Zullo had this since 2013???? It was really hard for me to read the entire article as I had gotten quite bored with Zullo with all his teases.

      • I agree. Zullo. So is this his “earth-shattering” information? Obviously, Congress knows all about it and allows it to continue. Why? Because maybe they’re ALL subject to being outed for one thing or another? Too late for them. Even as I write, Comey and Rogers [OBAMA HOLDOVERS. WHY?] are testifying that Trump’s all wrong–no physical wiretap of Trump Tower. They play these games. Nope. Nobody was “wiretapping” Trump’s PHONES. Oh, yeah. Media will run with it: Trump LIED. However, in the same breath, Comey testifies there’s a “counterintelligence” investigation going on concerning Russians and the 2016 campaign. Oh, yeah. And including investigating potential ties between the Russians and the TRUMP campaign. But why not the CLINTON campaign, too, if they’re so concerned about interference? [Comey’s covering his ass.] There were arguably far more contacts between Clinton and Russia than Trump’s FORMER campaign associates/advisors and Russia. In any case, a counterintelligence investigation means there’s no WARRANTS and no NEED for them. Warrantless wiretapping. Trolling through the YUGE NSA database of past conversations to try to find SOMETHING with which to impeach Trump. I read an article today excerpted from the WaPo that actually specified that Trump’s allegation that he was surveilled by the Obama administration was “unfounded.” They called it his “unfounded” allegation. HOWEVER, when they talk about the UNFOUNDED allegation that Trump colluded with Russia to get them to help him win the election, THEN they keep saying that there’s “no evidence YET” that it happened. If they want to at least PRETEND to be fair, they would say there’s no EVIDENCE YET that Obama did not spy on Trump. However, there’s actually PLENTY of evidence, going by the media and the WaPo itself–they’ve been telling us for months that Obama’s administration DID spy on Trump and now Comey confirms it without confirming it because in the course of his “counterintelligence” investigation, he SPIED ON TRUMP’S PEOPLE. btw, Comey REFUSED to say whether or not he TOLD OBAMA HIMSELF WHAT LT. GEN. FLYNN SAID IN HIS CONVERSATIONS THAT WERE ILLEGALLY SHARED and leaked.

    • They’re trying to pass something to try to force some committee to obtain Trump’s tax returns, peruse them, and then report a synopsis to Congress. HOWEVER, they didn’t bother to try to get Barry’s REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE (if it exists), when THAT’S required by the Constitution. Nothing in the Constitution can possibly be construed to require someone to show their tax returns. OF COURSE NOT! There were no income taxes and not supposed to ever be any, when the Constitution was written. Nevertheless, there are only three requirements of presidential candidates: NATURAL BORN CITIZENSHIP, AGE 35, and RESIDENCY of 14 years. That’s it. Nothing about tax returns and Congress has no power to CHANGE THE REQUIREMENTS in the Constitution. THAT would require a constitutional amendment.

And premiums WILL rise with Ryancare. It is basically, when stripped down, Obamacare. I wonder if President Trump is going for “kill” on Ryancare by making this very, very obvious. He said in recent speech that a bill could be presented by Republicans that is exactly like Obamacare and Dems would completely vote it down because that is how bad it is in DC. When I heard him I could not help but wonder if that was why Rcare being pushed; to prove just this point. I know libs on fb are ranting that the new Republican plan will……are you ready for?……….will provide healthcare to illegals! Like, hello, your precious Ocare does that already!!!!!!!!!! Too stinking funny.

      • I don’t know what’s going to happen. I hope Trump fixes it. They had an article today about a working family who didn’t have insurance but got it under Obamacare for about $350 a month and now it’s going to go up to $700 a month. Well, I’d like to tell them that $350 a month was quite the deal. My hubby and I pay far more than that per month and have always worked to pay our own way but do get help from employer plans. So even with Ryancare or whatever, that couple STILL will pay less than WE pay for our healthcare. What’s good for some is bad for others. OUR premiums went way up to allow people like that to pay less than HALF what we pay. That’s socialism. There has to be a solution short of socialism. FREE MARKETS would help immensely. Only when government got into health care (Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare) did everything start to skyrocket.

    • Why the EFF isn’t this letter in the lamestream media reporting? We know the answer: and

“Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley today is seeking details on the FBI’s reported plans to hire former British spy Christopher Steele to investigate Donald Trump during the presidential campaign, even though the FBI was aware that he was being paid by Democrat political operatives to conduct opposition research on Trump. Steele is the author of the controversial dossier that includes unsubstantiated claims alleging ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

In a letter today to FBI Director James Comey, Grassley is requesting a briefing on the agreement as well as the FBI use of the material in Steele’s memos. Grassley also wants to know whether the FBI ever independently verified the memos’ claims.

The idea that the FBI and associates of the Clinton campaign would pay Mr. Steele to investigate the Republican nominee for President in the run-up to the election raises further questions about the FBI’s independence from politics, as well as the Obama administration’s use of law enforcement and intelligence agencies for political ends. It is additionally troubling that the FBI reportedly agreed to such an arrangement given that, in January of 2017, then-Director Clapper issued a statement stating that ‘the IC has not made any judgment that the information in this document is reliable, and we did not rely upon it in any way for our conclusions,’” Grassley said in the letter. …”

Obama’s FBI, under COMEY, actually PAID/EMPLOYED that Steele guy from the UK to INVESTIGATE TRUMP. WHY? On behalf of national security, or on behalf of HILLARY CLINTON? So not only the media but also the FBI were part of her campaign? By colluding with Steele, did Hillary Clinton commit a crime–seeking to conspire with a foreign agent (Steele) to interfere in the free election in the USA? EXACTLY what they accuse Trump of doing?
