Out of Africa? Political Correctness and Science

African_sunset - Copy

Regular readers may know that I’m wont to joke that we are all African-Americans, and so should be eligible for minority set-asides, scholarships and/or reparations (should they ever be awarded). My joke is based upon the prevailing hypothesis about the origin of modern Homo sapiens sapiens.  Personally, I’ve never accepted the Out of Africa model (aka single replacement), but it’s been the favored scientific “wisdom” for some time. The proposals of Milford H. Wolpoff, who advances the multiregional hypothesis, have always seemed to make more sense, but even that model envisions Africa as our ultimate homeland.

The Out of Africa model proposes that all modern humans descend from a common ancestral branch that first arose in Africa sometime around a mere 200,000 years ago. From Africa, these thoroughly modern humans spread out to populate the entire world about 60,000 years ago, displacing all previous populations (such as Neanderthals) who then died off.

The multiregional hypothesis differs by proposing that rather than displacing earlier forms of humans, the more recent migrants from Africa simply interbred with and absorbed those populations.

Recently, some Russian geneticists reported on research that suggests that the common ancestor of all modern humans may never have lived in Africa. Their research was published by a company that might be called part of the “alternative” scientific press.

You may not believe in human evolution. This post doesn’t argue for or against evolution but is an attempt to demonstrate how political correctness can corrupt what’s presented as objective science.

Some believe that the reason that the Out of Africa model became so popular is simple political correctness. [emphasis added to quotes]

Scientific evidence refuting the theory of modern humanity’s African genesis is common knowledge among those familiar with the most recent scientific papers on the human Genome, Mitochondrial DNA and Y-chromosomes. Regrettably, within mainstream press and academia circles, there seems to be a conspicuous – and dare we say it – deliberate vacuum when it comes to reporting news of these recent studies and their obvious implications.
Australian historian Greg Jefferys explains that, “The whole ‘Out of Africa’ myth has its roots in the mainstream academic campaign in the 1990′s to remove the concept of Race. When I did my degree they all spent a lot of time on the ‘Out of Africa’ thing but it’s been completely disproved by genetics. Mainstream still hold on to it.”

Yes, some are motivated by a desire to “remove the concept of Race,” but others (who prefer to divide us) use the “myth” to help promote Afrocentrism, as illustrated by a book written by Professor Mary Lefkowitz and reviewed by Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.:

“Not Out of Africa[How Afrocentrism Became an Excuse to Teach Myth as History] has sparked widespread debate over the teaching of revisionist history in schools and colleges. Was Socrates black? Did Aristotle steal his ideas from the library in Alexandria? Do we owe the underlying tenets of our democratic civilization to the Africans? Mary Lefkowitz explains why politically motivated histories of the ancient world are being written and shows how Afrocentrist claims blatantly contradict the historical evidence. Not Out of Africa” is an important book that protects and argues for the necessity of historical truths and standards in cultural education.

“Not Out of Africa” combines a learned demolition of various politically correct historical fantasies with a thoughtful inquiry into questions of historical method and of academic freedom. Anyone perplexed by multicultural education should read it.

So history as well as anthropology falls victim to political correctness. A particular bias for the Out of Africa model is said to be more prevalent in Europe and the USA, while scientists elsewhere (particularly Russia and China) tend to disagree. Harvard biochemist Christian Schwabe wrote,

The “out of Africa” idea of human evolution is dominant among anthropologists perhaps because most fossils were found there, because of the commitment to a single origin scenario, and finally because of cultural demands that all humans be of equal descent. In the final analysis these are not very forceful reasons.

Perhaps because of “cultural demands”, political correctness and the politicization of “science” are becoming the norm in the United States and Europe. Most obvious is the slanting of the science on “global warming“, which is also called inadvertent climate modification, greenhouse effect, anthropogenic climate change, anthropogenic global warming, global climate change, global heating, climate breakdown, and climate insecurity.

The ever-morphing terminology is one clue that politicization happens frequently in climate science.

Most scientific studies expressing an opinion accept the theory that humans cause global warming, says one much-cited meta-analysis. That amazing 97.1% “consensus” figure is proof, however, only of how cleverly some lie with statistics. Nearly two thirds of the studies examined expressed no opinion. In addition, the meta-analysis included research abstracts from only peer-reviewed scientific literature. Which brings us to another way that political correctness infects science: through the suppression and deliberate non-publication of opposing views.

Peer review is the standard for credibility. Or it used to be.

Now political correctness is used to prevent opposing viewpoints from being published in peer-reviewed journals in the first place, which keeps the world from seeing any research-based evidence that refutes the prevailing “wisdom”, seemingly confirming the imaginary “consensus”.

Thus the need for an alternative scientific press, such as the one that published the findings of those Russian geneticists.

Similar forces of political correctness gave rise to a need for the New Media (aka the alternative media, including the “pajamas media” or bloggers). As mainstream media falls victim to political correctness, the alternative media steps in.

There are obvious parallels between the current suppression of some “inconvenient” scientific facts and the Catholic Church’s suppression of Galileo’s work in defense of the theories of Copernicus.

A New Inquisition?

While that might sound extreme, consider that one professor has actually proposed holding “climate denierscriminally negligent:

What are we to make of those behind the well documented corporate funding of global warming denial? Those who purposefully strive to make sure “inexact, incomplete and contradictory information” is given to the public? I believe we understand them correctly when we know them to be not only corrupt and deceitful, but criminally negligent in their willful disregard for human life. It is time for modern societies to interpret and update their legal systems accordingly.

The professor sounds far from “modern” in his analysis. His argument also sounds like a classic case of projection: Who is suppressing “contradictory information?”

Yet more evidence:

Climate science has become ‘too green’ and ‘blind to bias’ scientists have warned after it was claimed a major journal suppressed research which cast doubt on the speed of global warming.

The journal Environmental Research Letters refused to publish an article by Lennart Bengtsson and other academics which flagged up inconsistencies in temperature projections. …

Prof [Richard] Tol, who refused to sign a recent Intergovernmental Pancel on Climate Change (IPCC) report because it was too alarmist said: “Environmental Research Letters is known for making politically inspired decisions. They are very green, and not the scientific journal that they claim to be.

“There are few people with as much credibility as Lennart Bengtsson. His integrity is beyond doubt.”

The paper by Prof Bengtsson, of Reading University, challenged findings by the IPCC that the global average temperature would rise by up to 4.5C if greenhouse gases in the atmosphere were allowed to double.

It suggested that the climate might be much less sensitive to greenhouse gases than has previously been claimed.

Unfortunately, common sense wins some and loses some. Here’s more evidence of politically correct suppression combined with economic bullying:

Some of the world’s top PR companies have for the first time publicly ruled out working with climate change deniers, marking a fundamental shift in the multi-billion dollar industry that has grown up around the issue of global warming.

Public relations firms have played a critical role over the years in framing the debate on climate change and its solutions – as well as the extensive disinformation campaigns launched to block those initiatives.

Now a number of the top 25 global PR firms have told the Guardian they will not represent clients who deny man-made climate change, or take campaigns seeking to block regulations limiting carbon pollution. Companies include WPP, Waggener Edstrom (WE) Worldwide, Weber Shandwick, Text100, and Finn Partners. …

Not surprisingly, all things considered, that news comes on the heels of this:

U.S. President Barack Obama and EU leaders meeting in Brussels this month [March 2014] will throw their combined weight behind tackling climate change, a document seen by Reuters says, in a show of developed world solidarity on the need for a new global deal.

Both the European Union and the United States are preparing new pledges on cutting emissions for the first quarter of 2015, ahead of a U.N. summit in Paris that is meant to agree a new worldwide deal.

Its aim must be to limit any global average temperature increase to less than 2 degrees Celsius compared with pre-industrial levels “and should therefore include ambitious mitigation contributions, notably from the world’s major economies and other significant emitters,” the document said.

Why doesn’t Obama just stretch out his all-powerful hand and command the oceans to stop rising?

Political correctness also impedes science with regard to determining how the Americas were first populated. For political reasons, activists persuaded the U.S. Congress to pass a law that requires ancient human remains found within the USA to be controlled by “Native Americans”, who are assumed to be the descendants of the deceased. Remains are turned over to tribes living in the same geographical area for reburial, as if humans haven’t migrated over the intervening tens of thousands of years. In some cases, no scientific study of the remains is conducted, as that would be disrespectful towards “the ancestors” and would desecrate their remains.

Everything from mineral rights to land rights to separate nationhood status depends upon maintaining the “common wisdom” (or imaginary consensus) that the ancestors of today’s “Native Americans” were the only first inhabitants of this hemisphere and were basically homogenous. In addition, some Native American mythologies teach that “the ancestors” were indigenous to the Americas, so they never could have been Out of Africa, or even Siberia. To say otherwise is politically incorrect and disrespectful to their culture. After all, this is a now a nation where cultural relativism is almost a religion.

Cultural relativism is the view that no culture is superior to any other culture when comparing systems of morality, law, politics, etc. It’s the philosophical notion that all cultural beliefs are equally valid and that truth itself is relative, depending on the cultural environment.

In truth, we are all immigrants to this hemisphere, the only variable being time. Who came first is yet to be determined, if it will even be allowed to be determined. The way things are looking, we may never know the truth, because politics is far too involved in the study of Ancient America.

So the Solutreans may never get their due. The Solutrean hypothesis proposes that migrants from western Europe arrived on the east coast of America somewhere between 21,000 and 13,500 years ago. That hypothesis, as you might imagine, has “not been well received.”

The field of psychology is similarly infected by politics. For example, research is published purporting to prove that conservatives are mentally ill or that whites are particularly, if not uniquely, prone to subconscious racial microaggressions, the latter hypothesis leading to some very ridiculous, divisive, and rather unfortunate incidents.

Anthropology, history, paleontology, archaeology, psychology–these are not the only fields of study subject to corruption by political correctness, but they seem to be the most susceptible, especially the social sciences.

Everything is political and everything is tainted with politics.

Politically corrupted science bodes ill for this Republic, which is the topic of an upcoming post. Stay tuned.

  1. Hey, anyone see and know where I can find it the very first news report video of “at the scene” of Michael Brown attempted arrest, aka killing in cold blood? In it the mother said something really bizaree along the lines of, “I brought him into the world it should be me who takes him out of the world.” In hindsight I see she knew already the truth but felt it was her right as a mother to punish him, not the police. I can not find the video anywhere, yet six of of saw it and were, like, “What the heck did that woman just say? Did she just say she should have been the one to kill him?”

    • I remember seeing that and thought it was bizarre, too, but I saw it on TV and not video. I agree with your interpretation.

    • About 1:52 into the video.

    • You know what’s interesting? How there exist people who BELIEVE that they are RATIONAL and that they alone are the arbiters of TRUTH. Same people can so easily throw around accusations that someone is “promoting racism” when obviously they themselves seem to be reading-comprehension impaired.

There’s NOTHING in my post that promotes RACISM. In fact, such a false accusation really, sorta, PROVES MY POINT. I guess it all depends upon the definition of “peer”. In fact, the same people, on their website, actually wrote: http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Peer_review#Possible_problems

“Like all human activities, peer review can be subject to biases in certain situations or if insufficient care is taken in the selection of reviewers.”

Hmm. There’s an original thought. In fact, I thought I said that. Interesting that the “problems” recounted in the discussion of peer review don’t seem to include the potentially VERY negative influences of money and political power on the peer review and publication process.

I suppose that there’s absolutely no “rational” reason to fear that certain politically connected people and mega-corporations (GE comes to mind) might make money hand over fist by promoting the need for “green” energy and so have a reason to, shall we say, lean on (or even sit on!) the boards of the journals that push the issue of man-caused global warming?

That I link to an article that some perceive as promoting racism does not mean, in any way, that I agree with the article. I’m not a geneticist and I didn’t read the original research because it wasn’t necessary to do so. Did I say anywhere that I had or that I agree with the conclusions? No, because that article is not the issue about which I wrote. btw, it’s not racist to simply investigate whether or not all humans descend from the same founding population in Africa, 200,000 years ago. I guess some missed my allusion to Galileo and his own travails with political correctness.

I suppose this is all beyond the ken of some people who believe in their absolute correctness and rationality. So much better to be self-congratulatory and snarky than to, you know, debate RATIONALLY. Or consider all points of view with an open mind.

I believe in the biblical interpretation. That is all.

    • I know. That’s why I wrote that the post isn’t about evolution but about how they LIE in so-called “science” to push a political agenda.

    • I could cry: http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2014/08/black-panthers-march-in-ferguson-leading-death-chants-to-officer-darren-wilson-video/

The New Black Panthers are leading a march in Ferguson, Missouri tonight.
Over a thousand people are marching.

      The Black Panther are chanting:

      What do we want?
      – Darren Wilson
      How do we want him?
      – Dead

All hell is about to break loose– ”

Last time I checked, disturbing the peace was a crime. Last time I checked, inciting a riot was a crime. Last time I checked, looting was a crime. Last time I checked, no “peace officer” would PARTNER with a man who intimidated white people at the polls, made racist statements against “crackers”, or called for the DEATH of a policeman. Last time I checked, in America, you’re INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

When will Capt. Johnson ARREST Malik Shabazz? Or will he just let THIS “play out,” too?

NOTE: Now there’s a disagreement over whether or not this is a gang sign. Some report that this is the “sign” of a black fraternity. Since I don’t know the TRUTH (and who can these days), I post this in the interest of fairness. • http://linkis.com/shar.es/IRo9A

A comment on these immigrant businessmen, whom I believe are Afghani-Americans. I heard them speak on video and it’s great to hear their English accents. Suffice it to say that they sound like their customers. I love America! That’s not a sarcastic comment. I love how some immigrants instantly assimilate to their surroundings and become US. Those are the kind of immigrants we need. May God bless them and keep them safe in their stores. It’s sad to hear Johnson talk about how “we” lost some meat and liquor when it was actually THESE MEN who lost their goods. One had to pay back a woman who’d paid in advance for groceries that were stolen by the time she got there to pick them up. He took the loss in her stead. A real stand up guy. Will Johnson lead on setting up a system to repay these men, OR will they kick that can down the road and then expect the TAXPAYERS to pay the price (via some kind of bailout) because this man in charge CHOSE to make the cops STAND DOWN? Mind you, the immigrant store-owners probably pay a lot of business taxes that pay Johnson’s salary as well as the cops’ salaries. Are they getting VALUE for their money? WHY do we fund police departments if they’re going to “stand down” for fear either of the response of the “community” or for their own lives or whatever fear this Johnson guy has? Fear of Obama’s displeasure? Businesses in Ferguson ought to think twice before paying their taxes this year.

Oh no effing way! The governor was a wuss to have allowed his press conference to have been hijacked. Another wimpy white person. Am losing hope in out ability to step away from the abyss. What happened to the children and grandchildren of the Greatest Generation? I know I ask this repeatedly, but I am genuinely perplexed!

            • That governor is a Democrat who has been in touch with Obama and Holder, who are the ones giving the marching orders. The newest is that now he’s calling out the MO National Guard. The looting spread into an area that was outside the curfew area. But of course. Did they really think that wouldn’t happen? The (as usual) immigrant shop owner asked WHY they target his store supposedly that somehow that’s going to bring “justice” for Brown. The cops were NOT there. The media was, though. How is it that media can be there but cops can’t? Obama and Nixon have ordered the cops to stand down, just as in Afghanistan the soldiers are to “fight” with one arm behind their backs. It’s EXACTLY like Afghanistan. The cops are all up at a “staging area” behind barricades. They should be rounding up, arresting, and charging every one of these criminals.

He maketh me to lie down & watch Oprah:
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
    He restoreth my bling:
He leadeth me in the paths of idleness for Barack’s name sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the sharing of the wealth,
I will fear no workfare; nor law
    For thou art funding me;
Thy lies & thy Glock, they comfort me.

  4. obscene RAP lyrics …. 2 much Mary Jane…. mommy problems? O’

    • I know that several states have legalized marijuana, but I don’t think MO is one of them. I saw on GP (or maybe somewhere else) that the crowd last night was drinking heavily and smoking pot. The smoke was in the air, everywhere; even the lamestream media commented (when they weren’t smoking it, too, no doubt). Blunts are what they make from those cigarillos, because (Rush Limbaugh said) they’re far cheaper than bigger cigars. I guess they had a smoke in “honor” of the deceased. So there’s yet another crime that Capt. Ron overlooked. As for his rap “poetry”, there’s just another parallel with the Trayvon case. You’re not going to find any leftist progressive idiots who will criticize Brown for his dope use. It’s what THEY do, too. I bet that Johnson, the accomplice, HAD TO ‘fess up to the police and DOJ about the robbery because, duh, the dope (pun intended) talked about it to Al Sharpton. I guess being on the line with his eminence just went to his head and he forgot himself and blabbed a little too much about what happened. Gave some incriminating details, at least incriminating for his friend. Bosley was on Judge Pirro’s show but I just missed him. I would have loved to have seen that and see how he explains the recent revelations. CNN also knew about the robbery angle before the chief of police released the video. Funny how they SIT ON STORIES based upon anonymous sources WHEN IT DOESN’T SERVE THEIR BIASED AGENDA.

    • Rosemary Woodhouse

Yes, that was posted the other day. Excellent.

A video uploaded by a Brown supporter inadvertently catches audio of a witness to the shooting CORROBORATING the officer’s friend’s claim that the deceased “bum rushed” him and wouldn’t stop, even though the cop had his gun out and had been firing at him. The witness seemed to believe that prior to that, the cop had NOT struck Brown with a bullet. So maybe was firing warning shots?

What’s Holder to do now? I wonder if any one of the 40 FBI agents that the governor requested to canvass the neighborhood for witnesses will find THIS witness? It’s apparent from the stories that it’s obvious that the feds may have suppressed that robbery video if the local chief had not preempted them. He was on solid legal footing. The press, including probably CNN, which knew about the robbery, had requested it under FOIA. If he was going to release the name, then he had to release it all. Everything that was requested. Maybe the media bit off more than they could chew, huh? The chief said that investigation was closed and once closed, it becomes public record. I read in several places that everyone from the DOJ down to the Governor of MO was very upset that the video was released and they’re trying to blame THAT for the violence and looting, as if there wasn’t violence and looting from the first. Note what a good job the hand-picked black sheriff is doing. Since he arrived, looting? Check. Tear gas? Check, both nights. SWAT and paramilitary equipment? Check. Concussion grenades and smoke bombs? Check and check. You know what the only difference is? Now that they’re NOT ALLOWED to wear protection, 6 officers have been injured as of last evening. Perhaps more last night. The MOST outrageous thing I read is that the new black operational controller said that “we” lost “some meat” and “we” lost some “liquor,” which can be replaced, but at least “we” didn’t lose any lives. So he admitted to NBC News that he DID order the cops to STAND DOWN and ALLOW the looting. Gee, shades of Benghazi, huh? I wonder which lives he valued so much? The responding officers or the looters (or their children which they bring with them to watch them loot). Laughably, the media are writing stories about how traumatic all this is on the children. School has not started for over a week; it was supposed to start last Monday. The rioters and “protestors” stay up well past midnight, tooting car horns, smoking dope, playing drums, yelling and screaming. How can children sleep? Of course, kids are afraid, but the media puts out that what’s traumatizing them is the knowledge that black children will grow up and maybe then the cops will target them. That’s actually what these libs are writing. Far be it from the responsible parents to instead teach their children that (1) had Brown not robbed a store and assaulted a man less than half his size and (2) obeyed the cop and (3) not tried to run from the cop and (4) not assaulted the cop, then he wouldn’t have been targeted, either. So they might teach their children that they are fine and will remain fine so long as they don’t COMMIT CRIMES against others and also that the cops, in intercepting Brown, may have saved other innocent people and, in so doing, PROTECTED the children from harm.

    • And have been for awhile too Rose.

      • Rosemary Woodhouse

Yes, foxy but now they are establishing their dominance by attempting to instill fear. Reparations, one way or the other………or else.

        • It’s really interesting to see the Democrats being split on this. Nixon is a Democrat and so is McCulloch, whom the powers (read Jarrett and Holder) want removed so there’s NO GRAND JURY because that’s a wild card. They cannot CONTROL what a Grand Jury is going to do. They can, however, try to intimidate the prosecutor, which is what they’re doing. They already are on record wanting to withhold that video of the robbery. From the people, yes, but I also heard lawyers arguing as talking heads that it would be “prejudicial” or “irrelevant” so maybe they would try to keep the Grand Jury from seeing it. I sure do hope that the “witnesses” are called in person and not that the Grand Jury is just read their statements because we all know how some people suborn perjury, if the stakes are high enough. The Grand Jury can actually question the witnesses, too, unlike in a regular trial. It would be so priceless to see Mr. Johnson, the friend, on the witness stand. I would love to see him squirm. Hopefully, the Grand Jury members may have seen his TV appearances prior to his testimony. There wouldn’t have been any prohibition on them to not watch TV, since who would have suspected this would be before them? From what I understand, this is just a regular Grand Jury that was impaneled earlier. Serves for 4 months at a time. Meets regularly (once a week?). It’s a whole different process than in a trial. Gosh to be a fly on the wall. Read a story today that affirms that Obama has personally been involved in the Ferguson affair since the first day it was reported. Valerie had been coordinating with the CRS, DOJ, “community leaders” (which of course don’t include the elected ones in Ferguson), the family, etc.

        • That’s why it’s so important for them to at least indict the officer and for Holder to “find” some civil rights violation, even if he has to invent it from lying witnesses and statistics. The family can do a civil suit if there’s an indictment. Not so easy if the Grand Jury doesn’t even indict. And then the consent decree or whatever they call it will open up the spigots of government money and taxpayer money from the good people of Ferguson and St. Louis County and probably the state, too. The “community organizations” and the preachers are already lining up to get theirs. Jobs for blacks will be ensured as whites are fired, so they can have “diversity”. Mind you, the police chief said that he has a hard time recruiting blacks to be cops because, surprise! The “community” hates cops. He can recruit blacks sometimes but then they’re trained and immediately go for higher paying jobs in other communities. There are 91 different cities that comprise “St. Louis” metropolitan area. Many of them have their own police forces and many of THEM want to have black faces, too. So the blacks go where the better paying jobs are. It’s a testament to Officer Wilson that he served all 6 of his years as a cop in black communities. Jennings for 2 yrs. and Ferguson for 4. What else is fascinating is how the Democrats continue to patronize black people. They had to find a black man to lead the cops to deal with them. They are giving them THINGS to pacify them, reminding me so much of the “tale” about how slave owners kept their blacks happy and on the plantation. Guess what? There’s a big street party/block party in the housing project where the shooting took place. Yep. Food and barbecue and games and MUSIC with a DJ and everything. The community now feels “valued”. Throw them a party and they will be pacified. Give them food, too. That was on the news also. Set up a gofundme link for the community organizations! Everybody’s cashing in. Patronize them. Treat them like children. It’s insulting. Why not try to explain the situation? Are they not human beings with rational minds? What gets me is that everybody in that community now wants to cash in when nothing that happened that day has anything to do with them. A man assaulted a cop and was shot. That’s the story. All of it. If the races had been reversed, would YOU expect somebody to pay reparations to you and your “community”?

    • The local medical examiner is a well-known and accomplished and much praised woman. Mary Case is her name. It’s insulting to second guess her. One apparent difference between her decision and the results from Michael Baden (yes, the OJ forensic guy; hired by the family) is that Dr. Case says the fatal wounds were in the head AND chest and that he didn’t necessarily die only because he was shot in the head. IOW, he might have died from the chest wound. The meme in the black rumor mill is that the cop shot him “execution style” as he was surrendering. Dr. Baden, however, said the shots were NOT from close range and that he could have gotten the head wound if he were charging the officer.

    • That is such a transparently ridiculous and political ploy. If this were possible to do, to indict someone for threatening a veto, then Obama would be up there in the dock with Perry. Of course, they always have two different standards for conservatives versus progressives. They are alleging stuff left and right against anybody who might run in 2016. They know it’s BS but still hope to capitalize on the meme for the “low information voters” who only remember that something corrupt was alleged. It’s an old Demoncrat tactic. Like taking pratfalls in front of Republican candidates and then claiming to have been assaulted.

If they are allowed to buy the Plaza Hotel in NY, and they just bought that hotel in LA, and there’s talk of Chicago and Miami — this makes it 4 corners of our country where they can close in on us and bring sharia law in full force. PM Cameron of Britian said today that they are overrun with them and in his pit will take years to shut them down or kill them.

DOJ ignores the civil rights of the clerk who was robbed and assaulted by a brutal, gentle giant.

Waiting for charges to be made against the robbery accomplice in possession of stolen goods. Waiting.

    • Papoose, you are so right with that comment. So far, I’ve seen on TV five owners of stores looted: Afghan (1), Hindu/Pakistani/Indian (2), black women (2). What about THEIR civil rights? Seems these looters are racist because they certainly gravitate to and target the Caucasian-immigrant-run stores (excepting the women who had beauty supply stores with those oh-so-in-demand hair extensions). The accomplice won’t be charged because although he knew his friend was robbing, he himself put whatever he was handed back on the counter, so there’s no “crime” to charge him with other than being in the company of a thug and bully. In addition, the poor store owner would probably be too afraid to prosecute. He begged the media to accurately report that HE didn’t call 911 after the robbery because, he said, they would kill him (the thugs). Obviously, they would and could BECAUSE THEY ORDERED THE COPS TO STAND DOWN. That black highway patrol guy is taking his marching orders from somewhere and he ADMITTED to NBC News that he ordered them to STAND DOWN and allow the looting to continue.

      • ever so transparent… civil commotion incited by the Federal Government for years and years…

(I didn’t realize the official, federal witness/ accomplice put the cigars back) There’s testimony being given on Greta as I type… based on the witness’ story…

Al, when anotha brotha calls you a “ho or thot” and tells you to go away, you’ve “lost that lovin’ feeling” in the eyes of the black community you supposedly care about.
I guess they’re all catching on to your snitching, lying and race-hustling ways. Time to take your sorry @ss back home and STFU!

Robbery is the taking or attempting to take something of value from another person by use of force, threats or intimidation. It is committed in the presence of the victim. Robbery is commonly known as a “holdup” or a “stickup” (i.e. bank robbery or mugging).

Robbery is usually divided into different ‘degrees’. The degrees vary by state and can also depend on whether a weapon or something that appears to be a weapon was present and/or if an accomplice was present. Any degree of robbery is considered a felony by law.

You might also hear the term ‘aggravated robbery’. If a suspect makes a victim believe that he has a deadly weapon by showing a weapon, saying he has a weapon or displaying something that appears to be a weapon, it is aggravated robbery.

Yeah, Al, Shoplifting is when you slip something into your pocket Unnoticed and walk out. ….. Robbing is when you Assault the ShopKeeper.

And it’s interesting that you find it Despicable that the police released the video supposedly “disparaging” Michael Brown before he was buried by demonstrating that he was a Thug, but you have NO Problem disparaging the name of the Officer or the Ferguson Police Department based on NO Evidence. ….always ONE SIDED…for the BLIND chose NOT 2 SEE IT!

    • Oh, they’re going to brush that one off, too. After all, pot is legal in Colorado and Washington state. Where else matters? Missouri and others are just “backwards” states. They need to get with the program. The cops, btw, were allowing rampant pot smoking and drinking (probably illegal underage drinking of looted liquor) at the “protests”. Ruh, oh. Don’t remember if anybody linked this one yet but look: http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2014/08/18/report-nixon-did-not-give-white-house-heads-up-he-was-calling-in-national-guard/

Nixon went rogue and called out the National Guard WITHOUT Obama’s permission. One of the funniest aspects of this (if there is one) is that it’s splitting the Democrat party. The county prosecutor is lined up against the governor. Now the governor will be at odds with Obama, as he should be. He should NEVER have allowed the WH ANY say in this issue. It’s NOT OBAMA’S concern. Supposedly, now, he’s back in DC to address the Ferguson issue. Well, that’s impossible seeing as how he announced long ago that he’d be back in DC today. That’s about the ISIS issue, if not some other nefarious thing. http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-obama-holder-ferguson-20140818-story.html Of course, they could be lying to give Obama plausible deniability and pretend it wasn’t his order to call in the Guard. I believe NOTHING these people say. Too many of the media lately have MISTAKENLY SAID, over and over, that OBAMA should call out the Guard, not realizing (or maybe deliberately pretending they don’t realize) that the MO National Guard does NOT report to Obama. He is NOT their commander in chief, the governor is. You simply have to read this, from the hand-picked black guy put in charge of the police response. Yes, the one who was getting “help” from nation of islam and the racist new black panthers:

“Earlier in the day, Johnson said he had met members of Brown’s family and the experience “brought tears to my eyes and shame to my heart.”

“When this is over,” he told the crowd, “I’m going to go in my son’s room. My black son, who wears his pants sagging, who wears his hat cocked to the side, got tattoos on his arms, but that’s my baby.”

Johnson added: “We all need to thank the Browns for Michael. Because Michael’s going to make it better for our sons to be better black men.”

Talking on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Monday, Michael Brown’s mother said Johnson gave her a heartfelt message that he was sorry.

“Like everyone else, he is supporting, and hoping and praying this doesn’t happen again,” Lesley McSpadden said.”

HE SHOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY. Does this look like a fair and unbiased public servant? He thinks we all should THANK the Browns for Michael? Would the shopkeeper from whom he stole and whom he beat feel thankful? We’re supposed to be thankful that they gave birth to a thief and bully who probably assaulted the policeman, too? What is THIS HIGHWAY PATROLMAN SMOKING?!!! I could cry. We’re supposed to hope that this doesn’t happen again? What, that instead the cops allow a bully and thug and thief free to continue to maraud? What is wrong with that guy? Again, he should be fired. We all know now who he is and somebody like that has no business being paid by the taxpayers.

      • Oh, get this, too: I saw the white attorney general of MO on TV last night. He actually said that he apologized to the black community because Brown was shot by someone in his community. NOT JUST the “white community” but also the “law enforcement community”. Got that? The WHITE COMMUNITY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR AND SHOULD APOLOGIZE FOR BROWN’S DEATH. We will NEVER bridge this divide. NEVER. I’m sorry but I despair of it. We are lost. MLK’s dream is lost. It’s over.

      • Note that the LA Times article points out that VALERIE has been consulting with the race baiters–Sharpton and Jackson. Now the family, they keep saying, want nothing but peace. Butt they also said before, over a week ago, that the family would take part in no more public appearances. That held for about 2 seconds. Once Crump arrived, they followed the Trayvon script. Only difference is that once that video of Mike robbing and assaulting the shopkeeper came out, mother became mum and lets the lawyer speak. The stepfather is wearing “no justice; NO PEACE” T-SHIRTS. How does that call for peace? So “no peace” is the same as “peace”? Who knew?

    SON OF….. OBAMA???

    • Huh? I thought his son was “gunned down” in Ferguson. Oh, wait. That was the son in Florida. He has a lot of sons for … Well, nevermind. Don’t they say that many a truth is said in jest?

  20. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2014/08/breaking-white-house-may-send-obama-to-ferguson/

GP reporting that the WH kicked around the idea of Obama going to Ferguson but they decided it would take resources away from law enforcement. I heard a reporter say that he interviewed some black residents and asked them what they really wanted. They said, of course, the cop charged with and convicted of murder (soon to be followed by death, no doubt). Then the reporter asked them what they would say to Obama if he were there in front of them and they could say one word. Know what the response was? “Goodbye!”. HA! He’s even lost “his people”. He won’t go to MO UNLESS he has a couple body doubles, like Saddam, and unless ALL he does is meet in a well-secured “church” with “faith leaders” and “community activists”, all well-screened and metal-detected. He’s no George Bush. Or even Ron Johnson. You’re not going to see Obama wading into any crowd of angry blacks. Not when they want to tell him goodbye.

  21. Ruh, oh. This messes up their legend/narrative of St. Michael the Brown:

“The Gateway Pundit can now confirm from two local St. Louis sources that police Officer Darren Wilson suffered facial fractures during his confrontation with deceased 18 year-old Michael Brown. Officer Wilson clearly feared for his life during the incident that led to the shooting death of Brown. This was after Michael Brown and his accomplice Dorian Johnson robbed a local Ferguson convenience store.

Local St. Louis sources said Wilson suffered an “orbital blowout fracture to the eye socket.” This comes from a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police. …

This comes after St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter tweeted out last night that a dozen local witnesses confirmed Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson’s version of the Brown shooting story. …”

Now that the race baiters have succeeded in ramping up the anger and violence over a FALSE narrative first put out by Brown’s “friend” Johnson and continued by his parents, Rep. Clay, and other MO politicians, both black and white–HOW DO THEY PROPOSE TO SOLVE THIS DILEMMA? Are they going to nevertheless sacrifice Officer Wilson just to satisfy the MOB? It sure sounds as if the police and the prosecuting attorney are standing up against the thugs from DC. Missouri is a sovereign state and the FEDS had NO BUSINESS interfering in a LOCAL CRIME.

    • The ONLY reason that Obama moderated his language is that he ALREADY KNOWS that the shooting was JUSTIFIED and that this is a fiasco, especially for Democrats and his administration. Pat Buchanan wrote recently that the sensible people are WATCHING and WAITING SILENTLY and will come out and VOTE in November. Surely his polls are telling Obama that they’re fixin’ to take another “shellacking”.

With so many witnesses, they will be hard pressed to even get what Sharpton has moved the goal post for–excessive force as a civil rights violation. EVEN SO, who would convict the officer? They couldn’t even convict Zimmerman whose case was less clear and he certainly did not have his brothers in BLUE standing behind him. But now they’ll go for a civil rights lawsuit against the city of Ferguson and maybe even the county and state.

The NBC affiliate there in St. Louis was subject of a demonstration of angry protestors who support the officer and who slammed that news outlet for giving out the location of the officer’s home. People slammed them, too, for failing to express any sympathy for the cops, for just accepting the thug version of the tall tale, and for calling the death a “murder”. Suddenly, they “apologized” and acted contrite, even putting out stories about how good the cops are and all the “restraint” they’ve shown. They even wore blue yesterday! I don’t think that was a coincidence.

They ALL know that this is BS that THEY are responsible for pushing–that they’re complicit in–all the anger, hatred, looting, violence, racist insults, arson, shootings, muggings, beatings (of whites). It’s all on them for jumping on the bandwagon and promoting a FALSE story. They’re fortunate that SO FAR there’s no blood on their hands (meaning nobody has been killed during these “peaceful protests” which are more like anarchist parties).

Bottom line: now that it’s not going to turn out as Obama hoped, he hopes to at least try to smooth things over and pretend to have his own “Sista Souljah” moment and ACT AS IF he’s “presidential” and believes in the rule of law and supports the police and is NOT a RACIST, which of course we know he is. Remember. We’re bitter clingers and potential domestic terrorists BUTT “his people” have “First Amendment rights” to protest (except they’re not protesting, they’re rioting at worst and still disturbing the peace at best).

      • Schools are NOT going to open to educate the children. NO SCHOOL, but they will open the cafeterias to serve the kids their free meals.

    • Another thug son for Barack. 😡

  22. You know how Muslims always warn their enemies three times before they strike? They did so before 911, but nobody paid attention, especially Clinton when he was in charge. Now this: http://news.yahoo.com/islamic-state-message-america-drown-blood-004418744.html

“The Islamic State militant group that has seized large parts of Iraq and drawn the first American air strikes since the end of the occupation in 2011 has warned the United States it will attack Americans “in any place” if the raids hit its militants.

The video, which shows a photograph of an American who was beheaded during the U.S. occupation of Iraq and victims of snipers, featured a statement which said in English “we will drown all of you in blood“. …”

They also say they’re already here, meaning in the U.S. In addition, there was an ISIS poster shown at the Ferguson protest, claiming that ISIS is here. Then you got to ask what they mean by “drown you in blood” in light of this: http://allafrica.com/stories/201408170038.html

“Authorities in Liberia’s capital city, Monrovia, have warned of the spread of Ebola after a local clinic was ransacked. The patients quarantined there left the site and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Police in Liberia’s capital city had restored order by Sunday afternoon following a raid on a local Ebola clinic. However, they warned that local residents now faced a higher risk of exposure to the deadly virus, as the perpetrators had not only stolen infected items, but had also prompted patients to flee.

“They broke down the door and looted the place. The patients have all gone,” Rebecca Wesseh, a witness to the incident, told the news agency AFP.

A police official speaking to the Associated Press news agency also described the incident, which took place on Saturday evening, as a “looting spree.

The circumstances surrounding the break in in the district of West Point remained unclear on Sunday. Witness accounts reported by news agencies suggested that a group of armed young men had attacked the quarantine center, claiming that Ebola was a fiction.

According to the Associated Press, the group stole a number of items that had visible signs of contamination, such as blood stains and excrement. …”

AS OBAMA GOLFS. Now of what value might be items that are contaminated with Ebola?

    • I saw NO unrest “quelled”, did you? In addition, the police have used tear gas EVERY NIGHT since Johnson took over. But the media and the obots at Wikipedia NEVER let facts get in the way of their agenda. Another great black messiah. Don’t forget him saying that we ought to THANK the Browns for the gift of Michael, and that he hob nobs with the likes of Malik Shabazz. As if that’s not enough, the Wiki article says he has two ADULT children, so which of them is the son whose room he’s going to go into after this is all over? Which adult child is the son with the sagging pants, tats? You know, the one he told the tall tale about at church the other day. Or was that just a composite character, like his president is so fond of creating? God help us–are they setting him up to be the next black president?

      • what a total farce.

It has a ripple effect, too. Its been hard for neighbors and coworkers to have look one another in the eye. in passing (Just like when OJ was acquitted.) The discomfort is palpable. Anxiety everywhere you go. Afraid to hold the door open for the next customer. And having to deal with those who won’t, because they despise your existence. For naught.

        An Agenda. Truly disgusting.

        • Rosemary Woodhouse

Yes, I noticed that with a bagger where I always shop. He’s always friendly. I thanked him for bagging as I always do. I asked him “why aren’t you smiling today. Bad day?”

          Then it hit me.

        • I agree about the discomfort in society after this. Hubby and I both noticed it when we ventured out shopping over the weekend. People won’t make eye contact. Most bizarre thing I saw was all the blacks self-segregating at one cashier’s line. Cashier being, of course, black. We’ve mentioned before how Obama has set back race relations. Now this is pushing them even further back. It is disgusting. I’ve been dissing the meme that the Republicans fear a race war if Obama is impeached, but now I have to come to the realization that maybe they’re onto something I didn’t see. I had far more faith in my fellow Americans. You know what, though? This will just put MORE fear into the Republicans and maybe (might be what Obama wants) they’ll even drop the lawsuit against him. Sure enuf they’re not going to impeach him after this. Holder is pandering. There’s absolutely NO REASON on earth for him to go to MO, trying to “find” a civil rights violation. There’s NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that race of officer versus perp had ANYTHING to do with the shooting. In fact, Holder ought to be investigating the MANY hate crimes we’ve seen being perpetrated against the businesses of Pakistani, Afghani, Palestinian, Asian, Indian (from India) immigrants. Isn’t it funny how disproportionately THEY were TARGETED by the rioters and looters? I wonder why that is? Seems like a civil rights violation and hate crimes to me. But Holder’s going to try to “find” some “disparate impact” in bogus statistics, find a “pattern” of “misconduct” as one columnist wrote today, in the hope that then the DOJ can SUE the city of Ferguson, get a “consent” agreement, and FORCE the city to answer to Holder’s DOJ, probably force out the WHITE chief of police, maybe even the WHITE mayor (overwhelmingly elected by the 2/3 black city when his opponent was black), and get money, lots of money, and a quota of jobs for “his people”.
