Chris Matthews appears to have a Mad Libs-style list of the worst insults he hurls at conservative. On Wednesday, he chose “verbal terror” to smear everyone on the right who disagrees with all of the “great things” Barack Obama wants to do. The Hardball anchor opened his show by hyperbolically warning, “Political armageddon!” According to Matthews, the fight between the President and conservatives is not a conflict of ideas. h/t Gordo
No, it’s much more than a conflict of ideas, alleges Matthews. Watch the video of him, salivating like a mad dog, at NewsBusters. Whitlock emphasized this part of the screed, in which Chris Tingle said that those who oppose Obama’s policies represent an
almost totally negative force arrayed and barking against him, a campaign of verbal terror and negativity aimed at denying tens of millions decent health care, denying immigrants the chance to be come citizens, denying people of other sexual orientations and identities an equal chance to provide for themselves, obviously, also denying marriage equality.
It’s a strange, unbalanced battle between a man who wants to do great things and an enemy aimed at ensuring he does not. It’s a tale of a political party that once freed the slaves and battled the monopolies, built the transcontinental railroad and created scientific agriculture to the land grant colleges reduced now to playing jackal in the moonlight.
People like Matthews are, indeed, Mad Libs, which we can define as
Most Annoying Democrats: Lying, Insulting BullSh**ers.
Notice that this harangue by “Chris Tingle” happened on Wednesday evening. Was Matthews on a mission from his god because he somehow knew that Senator Harry Reid was going to set off the nuclear option the very next day?
Was Chris Tingle spinning in advance for Obama, his messiah, that “great” man? The transcript was probably sent over directly from the White House.
Matthews has the gall to call Obama’s political opponents–representatives of the People–enemies! This is a battle all right, but it’s between a president who wants to be a dictator like Hugo Chavez versus duly-elected representatives of the People who want to ensure that
government of the People, by the People, for the People shall not perish from the earth.
Mark my words: Obama is working on far worse than the nuclear option. Yesterday was only a baby step. Obama’s playing the long game: Nudging and incrementalism are the progressive way, as taught by Saul Alinsky.
This Senate rule change applies only to cabinet positions and lower court nominees, we’re told. Yes, for now, but Senator Tom Harkin is already calling for an end to filibusters on legislation, also!
After the Senate voted to change filibuster rules Thursday, Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) called for more reforms. “This has been escalating for a long period of time and it was time to stop it and that’s what we did this morning,” Harkin said. “Now we need to take it a step farther and change the filibuster rules on legislation.”
Now we know why Obama spent so much time recently campaigning against the “obstructionist Congress.” He has no other choice:
“Enough is enough,” he proclaims. Obama “has to” act, for the good of the People!
Obama and his supporters know from recent poll numbers that the worm is turning. This power grab is their last gasp to “fundamentally transform” the country as much as possible before next year’s mid-term elections.
Thank God that the Founders were wise enough to require a supermajority of the Senate to ratify treaties, but don’t think that they won’t try to ratify one against the will of the minority, anyway.
Obama is deliberately picking fights with Republicans in order to force them into fighting back, so that he and his minions in the lamestream media, like Chris Tingle, can continue to demonize the Republicans, blame them for dividing the country, and criticize them for further “obstructing the People’s business,” which in reality is obstructing Obama’s business of destroying our Republic.
When Republicans fight back, Obama will say that, once again, he has “no choice” but to order Reid to remove filibusters on legislation, too. Then the Senate will ram through legislation on divisive issues, such as immigration reform, just as they foisted Obamacare on the entire population without a single Republican vote. Talk about voter suppression!
By the way, the DC Court of Appeals that Obama currently is packing hears cases about critical and controversial issues, such as EPA regulations (global warming), Cordray’s new consumer “protection” panel, as well as those Obamacare death panels. Yes, this rule change allows Obama to set up those death panels!
The change could help Obama implement the law in other ways. It has immediately improved the chances of confirming nominees to the Independent Payment Advisory Board. The 15-member panel, one of the most controversial facets of the law, has responsibility for curbing the cost of Medicare. The administration had little hope for setting up the board before Thursday’s rule change.
In addition, the nuclear option sets the stage for changes at the FHFA that might result in yet another housing disaster, as the government once again forces banks to give loans to people who can’t afford to pay them back, simply to meet “diversity” quotas.

David Axelrod, a former top adviser to Mr. Obama, said retaliation by Republicans against the president’s broader agenda would end up hurting them more than Democrats. “If their answer is, ‘Oh yeah, we can make it even worse,’ I think they do that at great risk,” Mr. Axelrod said. “They have to make a decision about whether they want to be a shrinking, shrieking, blocking party, or if they are going to be a national party.”
From the moment Mr. Obama took office, the president who proclaimed that there was no red America and blue America, only the United States of America, has strained to maintain some pretense of bipartisanship …
White House officials said it was still in the interest of Senate Republicans to find a way to legislate, rather than to simply obstruct for the rest of Mr. Obama’s term.
For now, with legislative progress in the House all but doomed by Republican opposition, officials said the president could at least get a full team in place so that he can move forward with executive action, when possible, when Republicans block his agenda in Congress. …
Notice all the Democrat talking points in that excerpt: “Obstructionism”, “blocking”, “move forward”, the last being an actual Obama slogan. Talk about neuro-linguistic programming.
So worried are progressives about the next round of insurance cancellations (estimated to be as many as 100 million policies) that Obama is moving the beginning of the enrollment period up an entire month to begin, conveniently, a week or so after the 2014 election. Will insurance companies knuckle under and hold those cancellation notices until after the election?
To top that off, there are lawsuits against the ACA (Obamacare) that will be heard in the DC Court of Appeals, so packing that court is necessary, from Obama’s point of view.
Yesterday’s nuclear option was only the first strike. Let’s not forget the possibility of a knock out punch: Obama, who has proved that he has no qualms about flouting the law or the Constitution, may try to pack the Supreme Court as well. Such an attempt has precedent, although FDR tried to do it via legislation.
What remains to be seen is how the Republicans react to this naked power grab. More important, will We the People recognize this naked power grab for what it is?

I haven’t read this yet, but it concerns the Sandy Hook report. The media reported that Lanza wouldn’t let ANYBODY, even his mother, to enter his bedroom. All I can say about the photos of his room: He certainly was fastidious for a 20-something young man. A clean freak? Not reported, but you’d think they WOULD report that, if true. Hmmm. Odd.
Also, very crappy furniture for their lifestyle/income.

Actually, I don’t want to think of the implications about how it all looks so new and virtually unlived in. Staged, as if for a movie. Know what I mean?
He was six feet tall and weighed 112 pounds. That almost sounds like abuse. Yeah, he was 20 but mentally ill. Was he competent? 112 pounds. That’s skeletal for a 6 foot tall person. Does malnutrition affect the mind? He only communicated with his mother via email! On page 28, they report what she “said”, but I don’t see the source of the information about what she “said”. It’s talking about her looking for a new computer for him at the same time, so I wonder if this informant is that IT dude who used to work at the school but now is in another state. I can’t remember his name. Strange story on p. 28 about how he “bumped his head” at 5 in the morning of the day his mother left for NH and that it bled but she said he was okay and she left, anyway. Something he had in common with the MAD Libs: He hated Christmas. He wrote poetry, so where is it? The media emphasize the violent video games in the house, but people who knew him said he spent most of his time playing non-violent ones, his favorite being Super Mario and he also went to a theatre to “play” the game Dance, Dance Revolution (which is dancing). He had a home version, too, but they left that off the list of his games. He danced at that theater, using that game, 4 to 10 hours EVERY Friday through Sunday! Maybe all that dancing explains his low weight. There’s an interesting footnote on p. 38 about how a victim’s DNA was found on the shotgun which was in the car and never in the school. Lanza never returned to the car. In addition, another victim’s DNA was found on an item at his home!

Isn’t it? These are PRESUMED to be accidental transfer. Uh, by whom? Are we still dealing with incompetent CSI folks, even after billions being poured into police depts. around the country by this POtuS? Are we supposed to believe that? A few other things from the report: For some reason they don’t identify the murdered children by name. They cite privacy laws, but it’s a non sequitur, because they DO name the adult victims and all the victims are deceased, so have no privacy rights, imho. If it’s for the sake of the families, then one must ask why the families of adult victims are due less protection than families of child victims. Another thing, they did move the shotgun from the car, they said, into the trunk of the car and then later on (obviously at night) they retrieved it from the trunk. Is that standard procedure? Is this when the “accidental transfer” of victim DNA occurred? One would need to know at what point in time the transfer was made. For what reason? As for the DNA at the home? Do the same investigators go to both scenes? I’d think the cops at the school wouldn’t have gone to the home. If it’s some special group of investigators, then one would expect them to be even more well trained not to cross contaminate crime scenes. After reading the report, I was inclined to rethink our original suspicions, but then after reflection, my suspicions remain. Remember the video of the people milling around the school, then walking around it like a parade, going in one door and coming back out the other? Explain that one. There’s no mention in the report of the man who says he sheltered the kids who ran away from Ms. Soto’s class. No explanation for why they said they saw two little guns. Suddenly, though, the report says Lanza did have two pistols. I may be misremembering, but seems that early on those kids didn’t mention any long gun. The report does say he never used the shotgun. If you were a kid in that situation, which gun would you be more likely to remember, if there was a rifle?
Here is a twist: Was the “victim” dna in the home from the real shooter and Lanza went to stop him/her?
Since they screwed up the crime scenes, apparently, nobody will ever know and Lanza and his mother aren’t talking.

Ahhh, just got the shopping done. Tomorrow we make the pies: no-corn syrup pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and brownie pie which is a fudge layer on the bottom and brownie on top. All pie crusts are from the frozen section at the grocery store as Hoot never did learn how to make a pie crust but inadvertently snagged Mr. Hoot for marriage on the misconception that she knew how to make an awesome pie crust for an even awesomer apple pie. Anyways, for the first time in several years I am excited about Thanksgiving and not feeling overwhelmed with the preparations. And back at you, Miri, for a good Give Thanks Day!
YUM. You really should try to make your own crust (but don’t experiment on your guests tomorrow). Imho, homemade, even badly homemade, is better than store bought, unless someone recommends a brand that’s good. Happy Thanksgiving, What A Hoot–and to Mr. Hoot, too.

This story says that the executive order Barry put out recently allows as many as 40% of the illegals currently in the country to STAY AND to get GREEN CARDS. That’s if I understand it correctly. (I don’t think I did because this applies only to people with a citizen relative, so of the 40% who came in on these visas, we don’t know how many that would be.) So far as I can tell, Uncle Omar would NOT be included in this, but tourists and temporary visitors here on business can just violate the law and stay and be rewarded with a green card! One assumes this means that then they can immediately, with their green card, get themselves right on the path to citizenship that other green card holders have access to. This is really no surprise because we have to know that if they don’t pass what Barry wants (and even if they do), he’s going to just up and award citizenship to all of them, anyway, unless they impeach him or otherwise find some way to stop him via the LAW or the COURTS. But how? And who’s going to stand up? Rubio as much as said that he expected that as soon as they passed “comprehensive immigration reform” that Barry would simply change the rules and give them all citizenship no matter what timeline the law says. And why not? Why wouldn’t he? He’s changing Obamacare LAW willy nilly, and nobody’s saying squat.

What a masterpiece of passive/aggressive grousing. He dismisses the valid criticism that this teacher presented as merely a “notion”, as if the man couldn’t possibly have seriously considered what he wrote to the president of the country.
Then he denies that he has made fun of teabaggers. Notice that what seems implicit in his statement is that teabaggers exist (and that’s the correct name for them) when the teacher wrote to criticize Barry for referring to people as teabaggers instead of listening to them respectfully, as legitimate critics. THEN Barry goes on to insult the teacher by implying that he has misinterpreted Barry’s behavior and language because he straight out says that teacher didn’t give a “FAIR reading” to what he said and did. Way to go, Barry. We know you THINK you are above this teacher, but you certainly lack class, honor, and good manners. But we knew that already.
Then he further insults the man and ANYBODY else who criticizes him because he has dismissed their criticisms as not “legitimate”, in his opinion, which is the only one that matters. He says he’s gone out of his way to defend strongly the rights of everyone to speak their [SIC] mind. Sure. We see that every day, for example, when he leans on the media, spies on them, or has the IRS target his political opponents.
Barry again insults the teacher by saying that he “hopes” the teacher will have an open mind, implying that heretofore he hasn’t had an open mind. Nope, instead the teacher’s an idiot who evaluates things based upon POLITICAL attacks (not on the FACT that Obamacare is a sheer freaking disaster)!
Finally, he acts AS IF Obamacare hasn’t already Irrevocably harmed MILLIONS of families! What has it done or not done for them? It’s done plenty of harm already. What can it possibly do in the future FOR them?

It’s very interesting, WAH. I heard Rush on this topic. I went to find the original text and found it in both English and Spanish. While I can read most Spanish, I used Google translate to make sure that what I thought it said is what it said. The first time I translated part of it, it was typically befuddled, as their software tried to decipher the text. When I did the part about “trickle down”, however, it came out WORD FOR WORD what the English version of the translation is on the Web. That’s virtually IMPOSSIBLE because translating is an individual thing. People will take the gist and put it in their own words. SOFTWARE won’t, so it will come out sometimes in gibberish that one has to decipher for oneself. We’ve seen that with the Indonesian translations we have done. We have to take them and put them into our own words. However, it almost was as if suddenly Google realized I was trying to re-translate the Pope’s leftist-sounding text and substituted the “official” text instead of letting it go through their software. There’s that, but there’s also the fact that it does sound as if he said what they allege, just not in those words. What, however, would one expect? He’s a man, like any other, and is a product of his environment which, when you’re talking South America, is FULL of Marxism. Then there’s the philosophy VERSUS it being IMPOSED by a GOVERNMENT. I didn’t see that. What I saw was a man asking people to be more charitable towards their brethren. I admit, though, that I didn’t spend a lot of time reading it. We all know that Marxism as professed by MARX and other TYRANTS is not as nice as it SOUNDS. Deliberately, just as Obamacare in practice is not as nice as it sounded in theory. Marx and all the others LIED, just like Barry lies. Jesus exhorted us all to, yes, sacrifice, be charitable, give and share with the poor, etc. He did NOT, however, say it was up to the GOVERNMENT to impose that philosophy on anyone. In fact, to have it imposed on someone removes their free will from it. They don’t get the “credit” as if they did it of their own free will. What use is any “sacrifice” if it’s forced upon someone? We do good for its own sake, not because someone makes us do it. If we’re forced, is it, after all, GOOD? Maybe for the recipient, but for the soul of the reluctant giver? We already know that they deliberately misinterpreted what the Pope said about homosexuality, so I take this with a grain of salt. On the other hand, I do SO hope and pray it doesn’t turn out to be what it appears to Rush to signal. Especially given that the Pope met with, of all people, Vladimir PUTIN recently. When I have more time next week, I’m going to read the whole thing, but it’s many pages long and is estimated to take 5 hours to read. If I read it in Spanish, it’s going to take me a heck of a lot longer!
