Obamacare: Take Your Medicine, and Like It! (Open Thread)

Yucky_Medicine - Copy

Tomorrow the Obamacare exchanges are supposed to open for business.  Whether they will function or not is yet to be seen.  Word is that the software has glitches (see here, also) and is vulnerable to determined hackers and identity thieves.  All the crack software developers are probably working for Barack Obama’s spying NSA, so it’s likely that software development for Obamacare was farmed out to well-connected progressive friends of Obama’s–like ACORN community organizers, “minority” contractors, and former hackers who quickly created startups with a little help from the taxpayers via the Stimulus.

Like this president, prior experience and a record of accomplishments not required.

As with “green technology“, Obamacare has been a boon for friends of Obama.  A little research turns up an article that lists six of the companies that are “cashing in on Obamacare,” but surely there are many others.

The software alone has already cost us taxpayers $88 BILLION,  and yet it reportedly doesn’t work.  How many more billions will it cost to get it fixed?

This is typical when government tries to do anything complex–incompetency, waste, and fraud soon follow.  That’s exactly why the private sector and the free market work best–competition and the quest for profit ensure that the product, in this case health insurance software, will be delivered on time and will function as required.  Let’s guess that the contracts contain no penalties for shoddy workmanship.

Some argue that at this point Obamacare is unstoppable solely because so much time, money, and effort has already been “invested” (wasted) creating the Obamacare infrastructure.

That’s like proceeding to serve a meal to your guests, even though you realize that you accidentally put rat poison in the vichyssoise. You wouldn’t want all your hard work and expense to go to waste, so let’s just serve up that soup!

Obama and his supporters want you to take your medicine and like it,

even if it costs you more for less, rations your health care, takes away the doctor of your choice, forces you to wait to see a doctor, makes you see a nurse instead of a doctor, adds to the national debt, and leaves nearly as many citizens uninsured as there were prior to Obamacare being foisted upon us.

Obama and his supporters, however, don’t seem to care that Obamacare is a train wreck.  That’s because it’s a program designed to fail.  Failure was deliberately built into the system.

In the meantime, before it fails, Obama will be able to reward his supporters through contracts and grants and, by doing so, continue to redistribute wealth from the taxpayers to his chosen few.

Why is Obamacare designed to fail?  Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid let the cat out of the bag [emphasis added]:

Reid said he thinks the country has to “work our way past” insurance-based health care. …

“What we’ve done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever,” Reid said.

When then asked by panelist Steve Sebelius whether he meant ultimately the country would have to have a health care system that abandoned insurance as the means of accessing it, Reid said:

“Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.”

The progressive left’s ultimate goal is a “single payer system“–in other words, socialized medicine where bureaucrats and not doctors will decide when it’s time to let you die, because you’ve become too much of a financial burden on the collective.  In other words, they’ll ration “life years” and decide for you whether or not your life is still worth living.

Baby Boomers beware! In the meantime,

Take your Obamacare medicine,

and like it.

  1. A FOOL ….& his $$$$ MONEY!!!! ~ Asleep at the WHEEL!

      • Add your medical history from Obamacare to your fingerprints and they’ve got you! DNA, too. Your smart home will report on you constantly, because the new thermostats even know when you’re home or not! Isn’t that special? But not to worry. Big Brother is just like Santa Claus. All warm and fuzzy. He knows when you are sleeping; he knows when you’re awake; he knows if you’ve been bad (wasting water, eating fattening food, wasting energy) or good (voting for and supporting Obama), so be good for goodness sake!

  2. New open thread. I did some research and found the name of what looks like one of the main companies charged with developing these exchanges: CGI

    http://www.cgi.com/en/us-state-local/health-insurance-exchange-eligibility
Note that they also were involved in Recovery Act software programming.

    http://www.cgi.com/en/health/health-insurance-exchange
CGI is performing state-based exchange implementation work in six states, and is building the FFM to be used by states not currently creating their own exchanges. The FFM Is distinct from the Federal Data Services Hub being developed for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services by another IT provider. …”

    http://www.cgi.com/en/overview/cgi-history
“… In 2010, CGI acquired Stanley Inc., including Stanley’s subsidiary operations Oberon and Techrizon. The acquisition nearly doubled the size of CGI’s U.S. operations. In addition, the combination of talent and capabilities created further opportunity for growth in the key U.S. federal market.

Two years later, we made our largest acquisition to date, merging with the Anglo-Dutch business and technology services company Logica. The acquisition increased the size of our staff from 31,000 to 69,000 professionals and offered greater presence, service capabilities and expertise for our clients across the Americas, Europe and Asia. With this acquisition, we became the world’s fifth largest independent IT and business process services company.

Today, with a presence in 40 countries, strong expertise in all of our target markets and complete IT services, CGI is able to meet our clients’ business needs anywhere, anytime. We continue to strive to be recognized by clients, members and shareholders as a world class IT and business process services (BPS) leader. While remaining true to our Constitution, CGI continues to adapt to best respond to changes in the IT market, the local and global business climate of clients, and to our professionals’ and shareholders’ expectations. …”

Now that interested me on account of Stanley Inc., which, iirc, employed some of the people who just happened to spy into Barry’s passport files before the 2008 election. Remember? Who could forget? However, this isn’t the firm that employed Brennan’s person. It’s just an interesting coincidence, and CGI didn’t own them at the time. Still …

    http://www.stltoday.com/business/local/contractors-working-on-obamacare-launch-are-confident/article_e0c71d3a-2560-57f9-8554-219180e75b29.html

“… The four contractors each said they would be ready, and said they have strong safeguards in place to protect the privacy of personal data — an issue Republicans have lately raised as a potential vulnerability.

Cheryl Campbell, a senior vice president of CGI Federal Inc., said her company is “confident” its part of the job will be ready Oct.1. The Virginia-based contractor is building the federally run marketplace, with Washington running the markets or taking the lead in 35 states.

Campbell said her company has met all the key milestones under its contract, including an operational readiness review this month.

Michael Finkel, an executive vice president of QSSI Inc., delivered a status report on the lynchpin of the system, a federal data hub that functions as the router for verifying key eligibility data. The hub will ping federal agencies such as Social Security, Homeland Security and the Internal Revenue Service to verify identity, legal residence and income. [Except it won’t, will it? Haven’t they delayed implementation of checking for eligibility? We want all those illegal aliens to be approved first and then grandfathered later. Don’t we?]

Finkel said his Maryland-based company expects the hub to be ready as planned. Although testing is still going on, the contractor has connected the hub to databases at federal agencies that will be used for verification and, at the other end, to a system that will transfer data to and from insurers. [I notice he didn’t provide assurances that any data will be SAFE.]

John Lau, program director for Serco, said his company is staffing up to handle paper applications and other tasks. It’s in the process of opening a 600-employee service center in Wentzville, as well as two others in Kentucky and Arkansas.

Lynn Spellecy, a corporate lawyer for St. Louis-based Equifax Workforce Solutions, said the subsidiary of the well-known credit reporting company is ready to help verifying income and employment. [Ditto. Isn’t this deferred?] It will rely on a proprietary database called The Work Number, widely used by lenders, employers and government agencies. Final testing is scheduled for Sept. 15.

But Brett Graham of the consulting firm Leavitt Partners said the markets can expect a rocky debut. He cited the system’s massive complexity, timely and accurate verification of personal details for millions of people, and potential information security risks.

His company is founded by former Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, and is advising many states.

So there are some more names for us.

    • CGI must be the company referred to in this snippet from today’s WSJ (which I can’t link because I don’t have a subscription):

“… At the vanguard of the nationwide scramble are government information-technology experts who have been camping out hear Herndon, Va., to help a contractor there catch last-minute software hitches that could block some consumers from enrolling in the marketplaces. That push has led to improvements, but problems remain, people familiar with the matter said. ... Administration officials maintained that the online marketplace will work properly Tuesday. …”

We shall see. If the exchanges don’t work, then you can count on the media LYING for the lying administration, anyway. So it sounds as if these people developing the software won’t be allowed to fail because We the People must be paying twice for the software testing. We pay the contractor to test and then we pay again–for these “government information-technology experts” to camp out in Virginia and “help” catch last-minute glitches which, hey, SHOULDN’T EXIST in well-designed and well-programmed software.

Before the live test, there should be MENTAL iterations of the programs to ENSURE that there are no glitches. There shouldn’t be bugs. GOOD programmers who know what they’re doing and have logical minds (a requirement) which they use to mentally step through a program and find any errors in the code before releasing it for testing. Unless there are problems with the design and specifications, then software ought to fly through testing, IF it’s well-designed and accurately coded. Garbage in, garbage out. It’s only as good as the people designing the system and the specifications for the system. I wonder who was tasked with those jobs?

We’ll see how well this works. Tomorrow.

  3. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/09/enroll-america-obamas-campaign-goes-enrolling/

“Back in May, Obama’s HHS Secretary Sebelius called private companies, business executives and nonprofit groups to get them to support something called Enroll America.

Sebelius’s calls worked. Enroll America was born. A bunch of lobbyists joined on as Enroll America’s Board of Directors, and it’s run by former Obama staffers. The same Obama staffers who mined big data and delivered votes for Obama are now enrolling Americans in Obamacare.

    Remember, Obamacare will:

    – Increase the deficit
    – Leave 30 million Americans uninsured
    – Will increase premiums
    – Force Americans off their plans
    – Cost millions of jobs
    – Cost trillions
    – Cover abortion
    – Allow thousands of federal employers access to private information
    – Give the IRS new powers”

We’re the government and we’re here to help you.

  4. How do we not comply? How can we not comply? I mean anyone that does not pay taxes really does not have to comply because no income, now irs fee. But what about taxpayers? What is the Hail Mary play for “I will not comply” ? And without paying a fine equal to two hundred dollars a month per person/dependent that are listed on 1040? Any discussions going on about this around “town”?

On another note. A couple of sites I have visited off and over over the years are getting weird. Almost like the old standby posters are not really themselves. Their comments sound like them, grammar and structure wise, but their opinions and political views are subtly altered. Noticed on one site a man who has commented for four years now was, out of the blue, ganged up on, and the man was not saying anything different than the others all had said all along. Almost like they are trying to get the guy to quit coming around. Or messing with his head. Feel sort of bad for the guy cuz you can see his confusion in his response back to them. I just asked, “WTF”?

    Anyone else seeing this?

    • WAH, with this blog, I don’t have a lot of time to visit others. Just Citizen Wells sometimes, Gateway Pundit, and Free Republic. I have noticed that over at Free Republic, certain regulars hardly ever speak anymore. On this blog, not as many participants as in the past. I think people are dispirited, waiting out the next 3 plus years, hopeless, waiting for the other shoe to drop, talked out, or afraid of the obots and the NSA. Who knows? I know my enthusiasm waxes and wanes. I run out of things to write about or get tired of repeating myself or thinking that nobody even reads it, anyway.

I have, however, wondered at times if certain people are placeholders that are rotated around. Like they share a pseudonym. I certainly have noticed when people gang up on someone, probably trying to drive the person off. Or trying to make the person shut up. Well, that’s typical obot behavior.

Sometimes I do wonder if identities or blogs have been hijacked. I sure hope Gateway Pundit gets well soon and gets back in the saddle. I miss his selection of topics, although the people filling in for him are doing admirably well.

As for the nearly half the population that doesn’t pay taxes–won’t they HAVE TO file a “tax return” in order to get their subsidies? In fact, in order to get their child tax credit and a refund (even when they pay no taxes), don’t those people file income tax returns, anyway?

      • over the course of several weeks I have been getting this:

“sorry, your comment cannot be posted”. its really gotten worse since i posted that “all that for a flag” on Nine Eleven.

and I “liked” this post and it responded: you like this post.
so now, i have to log off and come back in to see if it registered.

        its been a real hassle.

        • i logged out, back in and nope, my “like” didn’t show up.

just had to “like” it again and it came right up.

        • Hmm. That’s weird. I’ve been getting the “you already said that” when I hit enter after a comment. I write the comment and hit enter once. Then it thinks and thinks and thinks and never posts, so then I hit enter again and it tells me I already said that, even though it didn’t post the first time. It IS a hassle and I’m sorry. I don’t know what goes on with WordPress sometimes. I wondered why I’m getting so few “likes”. I thought people were just tired of reading; it’s a comfort to know that maybe it’s WordPress messing up the “likes”. There are some dependable few who usually “like” my posts, so I wondered.

          • WP messes up a lot Miri. 😡

          • I LOVE your Posts, Miri, so maybe its on my end. 😉

WP has been a real PITA lately.

            • I hope people didn’t go and “like” my posts only because of this discussion, but I did notice about a week or so ago that I couldn’t see any “likes” so either people weren’t clicking it (which is what I thought) or else WordPress wasn’t registering them (which didn’t even occur to me, but should have, since they screw up so often). Now I see a bunch of likes, so I don’t know if they were suddenly registered of if people have been testing it out. 😉

    • That appeared to happen to Chronwatch.
      Did anybody know them?
A very well run Conservative site that one day experienced a deep hacking and then the owner went into retirement the week after, Doc Farmer won’t say a word and all trace of them seems to have disappeared from search engines.

    • Rosemary Wodhouse

Yeah. That happened to me awhile ago. A pile on. You would probably be shocked it you knew which site it is. But don’t ask, won’t tell. All I will write is that a once reliable blogger was led down a deep, dark hole. So deep they will never again be able to distinguish light from dark; good from evil After all, that’s what evil is best at,

And my original reply to you was going to be you beat me to the question….how do we not comply en masse?

      • Rosemary…. did ya change your last name?…. trying to hide from
        the big bad wolf???? (NSA)????

        • Rosemary Woodhouse

Merely a typo. But to show how I am taking a stand (I’ve written this already) when I tried to register as Rosemary Woodhouse with Disqus, the name, Rosemary Woodhouse was already taken. I chose the closest I could find. You’ll know who I am if you encounter me there. 🙂

Zenway, did you get to witness the pile on I alluded to? It was well over a year ago…maybe two years. Who can keep track in this ObamaNation? Anyway, despite the pile on I would not back down. Screw them. I would feel sorry for the blog owner in question but “they” have been so compromised, there is no turning back. The owner once had a lot of integrity too. That’s why there are very few blogs I rely on, this being first and foremost among them.

Miri, I implore you, don’t stop! And yes, your beautifully written posts are read!

        • Wodhouse! I didn’t notice. You have good eyes, Zenway.

      • I know of two sites that the admins actually program pile ons. They decide who is going to say what and who is going to respond with which answer. They are scripted. Sometimes they post and then the admin comments are scripted to force the discussion a certain way or to antagonize a specific commenter. They are nothing short of personal attacks as they will change their established opinion, which is the same as the commenter(victim) and point out the wrongs of what the commenter is saying and in a very snidely, condescending way. It all flows like a regular casual comment board with random people discussing but a closer look reveals it is the admins. Sometimes it backfires, though, and other regular commenters chime in in defense of the ‘victim’. I call these admins ‘blangers’ for blog gang bangers. On one site I visit (less and less) it has to be something personal because the blangers right now are doing it to a long time commenter; constantly putting her/him (don’t know with screen name) in some sort of imaginary place.

        • That doesn’t sound like a very pleasant place to be. I’d avoid a blog like that. I don’t like snide or condescending, either. Too much like the Alinsky obots. Maybe the administrators do it because they’re playing the devil’s advocate and just want controversy and arguments for their own sakes, but that’s no way to be. Do they collect money or run ads? If so, there may be your explanation. Some people are all about statistics. I have heard through the grapevine about some people who were treated very badly and left blogs to start their own blogs as a result.

          • Some great blogs last. Some great blogs don’t. Some can withstand the drama. Some can’t. Some are just plain misunderstood. Blogs that are run by more than just one person are sort of like churches; there always is a separation with some following the exiled one (or one wanting to take over), and eventually those little startup churches/blogs get bigger and have their own breakup. After three or four times of this the original people from the first church find themselves back together in one of the downstream offshoots! So many spit spats and it behooves Patriots to move beyond the division and remember we are all on the team. Some learn from rough times and some just keep repeating the pattern over and over and over with a ‘cleansing’ every year where now there are a half dozen new blogs spawned from those cleansings. Yep, like churches.

          • Oh, and then with all the blogs splitting and spreading and all the cross-pollinationj of poster/commenters, half the time we have look at the url to see exactly where we are and if it is a blog we are ‘allowed’ or not ‘allowed’ to blog on. I really admire all that have blogs and keep them, no matter how they started. The one I do do is so sporatic and there just to trick progs into going there to read something they might not have dared to look at if had a conservative name attached to it. There really should be a distinction between a blog, like where someone actually writes their own stuff or packages stuff and comments and connect dots for the readers and the other kind where it is just reposts of others’ stuff.
I have been trying to make a point to say blog when a blog and website when a website, as in reposts or compilations.

            • What is it that they call those sites? Aggregators? I’m with you; I don’t particularly care for websites that simply post other people’s articles, although Drudge, I suppose, is an aggregator.

        • Rosemary Woodhouse

WOW, WAH! This makes a lot of sense. As a matter of fact, I intuit this is exactly what happened with me!

You just keep on keeping on Miri. What would we do without your safe haven?

      • I wouldn’t be.

It was insinuated a few times by the know-it-all over there that I’m gay.

I witnessed what you were put through and chimed in a few times.

        • Seriously? That’s nice, isn’t it? I don’t even know which blog you’re talking about, but it must be a bad place to be.

  5. Given that there have been at least two lamestream articles already, telling Hillary to not run in 2016, it’s interesting that now CNN has canceled that planned documentary about her and now NBC has canceled that planned mini-series about her. That’s a shame, huh? http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/nbc-scraps-hillary-clinton-miniseries-639210

TED CRUZ will DONATE his OWN SALARY till the END of SHUTDOWN!

Sen. Ted Cruz Pledges to Donate Salary to Charity During Shutdown

    • Others have done the same. Among them Ann Wagner, who’s the conservative that I talked about some weeks ago. She was on with Wolf Blitzer and he kept rudely cutting her off to keep her from making her point about the shutdown.

    • I’ll repeat myself here, because I wrote this on the Sandy Hook post:

This shutdown is a distraction from the DISASTER that is the Obamacare rollout. The media, like good little lapdogs, will dependably focus on the intransigent Republicans (blaming them, instead of the DemoncRATS who control everything) INSTEAD of covering what Obama and his minions KNEW would be a disaster–the Obamacare exchanges that can’t and won’t work. Last I heard this morning, most of the state exchanges were offline. The software doesn’t work. Of course it doesn’t because, as usual, GOVERNMENT CAN’T DO ANYTHING RIGHT. That’s WHY free market capitalism is ALWAYS the best bet for the economy. But it doesn’t do anything for dictators who find it hard to control people when they have independence and human rights–chief among them FREEDOM!

IIRC, the last shutdown was a yawner and actually it stopped government from SPENDING MONEY and screwing us up worse. That’s the DemoncRATS’ greatest fear: That we’ll learn how little we need gummint.

  9. Ted Cruz is, technically speaking, “the freshman Senator from Texas.”

Mr. Cruz is a lot of things, but he’s hardly a freshman. He single-handedly has given Harry Reid a case of the shingles & has John McCain & Lindsay Graham so upset one nearly had a stroke & the other went apoplectic, but he embodies the true mission of doing The People’s work & really doesn’t care if anyone likes him, & I love it. … ~ ( From above…)

    • II remember back in late 2009 when I comment around town that the presodidnt was an al Qaeda terrorist how I got chastised and told not to exaggerate my frustration. Now, it seems like more and more people are saying it, documenting it, and trying to show people why. No one is really listening to these people but now, four years later, no one is telling them to shut up, either; or saying they are exaggerating.

    • What do we need DemoncRATS and the JournOlist for when we have our “own” turning on our own for them? What a hero King is! TY, Rep. King. We needed another McLame and Graham. THIS is why the DemoncRATS win and the Republicans lose. The DemoncRATS march in lockstep while the Republicans don’t (even though they’re the ones accused of being too inflexible and partisan).

  11. This is kind of weird.
I did a search on affordable health care exchange California and
although I got a bunch of hits, they were mostly news stories.
I thought I would get, pretty high up in the search results,
an official looking website that I could trust going to to obtain a quote.
    I didn’t get anything. Maybe I need a navigater!
I did better trying upvc windows!
    Anybody else tried?

    • dave m: I heard that the CA exchange was DOWN this a.m. Maybe they want to discourage people from looking for it, only to find out that it doesn’t work!

    • the whole thing’s a farce. they’re making it up as they go along.

      • It’s a wonderful distraction, though, and an excellent way to reward his peeps as he destroys the country. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20131002/BUSINESS05/310020123/2265/BUSINESS05?nclick_check=1

The federal health exchange is busted. At least it was for this 28-year-old, nonsmoking female Tennessean looking to sign up for coverage on day one of the exchange. …

Tuesday morning, [about 9:30] I was ready to enroll. The healthcare.gov site looks good. It’s welcoming, full of images of smiling people. But when I enter my state as Tennessee and try to log in, I’m stalled. …

The next alert said, “Important. Your account could not be created at this time. The system is unavailable.” …

Time to hit the phones. … I called at 9:48 a.m. and was promptly and very politely put on hold. …

[minutes later, a woman told the reporter] “we have not been trained yet. We are listed on there, but we are not the appropriate people to help.” …

Figured that after about half an hour of messing around, it was time to call the government. … She gave me an address where I could meet someone face to face, she said …

I’ll skim the next part of the story, which involves a string of robots telling me that my call was very important, putting me on hold, then dropping the line. …

11:39 a.m.: No more robots, I was going to find a human being. I drove to the address from the lady on the government help line. … [T]his particular location was a vacant building

Katie from United Neighborhood Health Services, called me at 3:21 p.m. — I had left a message with the center earlier in the day. She was locked out from the website too, she said, and the phone enrollment system wasn’t really working. …”

At least Katie returned her call, six hours after her FUTILE quest began!

I heard this morning that BARRY’S GOVERNMENT won’t tell anybody how many of the millions who ATTEMPTED to enroll actually managed to enroll. I wonder why?

  12. http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/obamacare-site-goes-live-with-some-glitches/2013/10/01/380a4300-2a9d-11e3-8ade-a1f23cda135e_print.html

“Uninsured Americans around the country showed up at health centers and logged onto government Web sites Tuesday morning in hopes of being among the first to sign up for coverage under the president’s health-care law, but many ran into technical glitches that prevented them from enrolling. …

A message on the federal web site, Healthcare.gov, which is the main enrollment site for 34 states, said that it was having technical difficulties because so many people are logging on. … [that’s the excuse they’re using–it’s just so needed and popular]

But technical glitches held up a number of people, including West Virginia resident Jon Tucci, who supports President Obama and the health-care law and wanted to enroll on insurance marketplace at the first moment possible.

I’m pretty fluent on the Internet,” said Tucci, 60, who is self-employed in the oil and gas industry. “I’ve applied for a lot of things, and there are always glitches. But this was totally disappointing. I’m just really frustrated.” …

[A]s late as 11 a.m., many people who were trying to sign up on Healthcare. gov were getting error messages, including one warning the “system is down” and another saying that too many people are flooding the site.

Maryland, which is running its own marketplace, also had technical problems Monday morning, prompting the state to open that Web site — Maryland Health Connection — four hours late.

Obama administration officials said they are aware of the problems on the federal site and are working on them. …

On Monday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius pleaded for patience during a briefing with reporters, acknowledging there would probably be some site issues in the coming days and weeks as the administration moves forward on the sweeping program known as Obamacare. She likened the inevitable fixes to software updates on Apple products such as the iPhone or iPad.

For weeks, insurance companies, consultants and others have been warning of flaws in the computer systems running at both the state and federal levels. Sixteen states and the District chose to build their own Web site marketplaces, while 34 states left all or part of the task to the federal government. …

Despite reports of problems and delays of key functions as recently as Friday, administration officials on Monday said the federal marketplace was ready, including many of its touted features, such as the ability to see which doctors are participating in which plans and to figure out instantly whether a person qualifies for a government subsidy.

People’s experiences are likely to vary from place to place, however. Officials in the District, which calls its plan D.C. Health Link, have said it could be a month before residents will be able to know the amount of the subsidy they might receive. …

Also, there was concern that some people seeking to enroll online immediately may not be able to because the technology that determines their eligibility is not working consistently for certain categories of applicants.; For example, people up to age 26 who were formerly in foster care are eligible to enroll in the expanded Medicaid program and will be able to do so online. But 19-year-olds in this category won’t be able to do so right away because of a glitch. …”

How many years did they have to develop this system? We’re from the government and we’re here to help.

    • the bogus potus said sthu. he didn’t hear anyone crying over the iPhone glitches – or to try to shut the company down over them.

      • I admit that I watched the lamestream news last night just to see how much they would cover for their messiah. It was far worse than I imagined and today it goes on. On TODAY, they had a twitter feed (forgot the name) where you can go to “express your ANGER” (they assumed you’d be angry) about the shutdown. The anger to be directed at CONGRESS, which they assume (stupidly, because they didn’t learn their civics) means the Republican-led House. So there’s nothing in there about directing your anger at BARRY, the so-called POtuS, or the DemoncRAT-led Senate.

As for the Obamacare exchanges, as predicted yesterday, they brush all problems off as caused by the huge number of people who want to access Obamacare. They will take any sow’s ear and turn it into a silk purse for Barry.

And then, of course, they glossed over how low and mean Barry was to restrict access to the WWII memorial for Honor Flight veterans. After teasing that they’d show how the vets got into the memorial, about a half hour later, my local news (probably after a phone call from above) simply said that the vets “moved past” the barriers. No mention of the fact that they knocked them down, no mention of Rep. Steve King distracting the Park Police, no mention of their ANGER at the pettiness and mean-spiritedness of this administration making snarky political points at their expense by blocking the bus parking lot (forcing them to walk further, no doubt), closing the bathrooms (forcing them, perhaps, to try to hold it, soil their drawers, or use a urinal), or turning off the water fountains and posting ARMED guards. Disrespectful not only to our veterans but also to the elderly.

    “A REFRESHER…FROM DOUG ROSS@JOURNAL…”

“Barack Obama’s biographical brief edited repeatedly over 17 years, but Kenyan birthplace changed just weeks after his presidential run announced”

“I’ve used the Wayback Archive to explore the exact transformations of Obama’s biography on his agent’s site …”

On April 3, 2007, the website read: “BARACK OBAMA is the junior Democratic senator from Illinois and was the dynamic keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was also the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago. …

Sometime between April 3rd and April 21st, a member of the Obama campaign staff (or Obama himself) noticed the discrepancy in birthplace that would presumably disqualify the Senator from office.

On April 21, 2007, the website read: “BARACK OBAMA is the junior Democratic senator from Illinois and was the dynamic keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was also the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Hawaii to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago. …

Old media’s feeble handling of this issue — parroting the laughable assertion that clerical errors caused Obama’s birthplace to be incorrectly listed, when former clients and the agency’s policy itself states that authors provide the biographical briefs — is pathetic.”

I am not leaving until you find me and I am not giving my personal information again as that would be stupid to do in this age of identity theft.” or when the navigators come to my house, “No speck engish” Here is where it could get funny. Practice up on a half dozen phrases of an ancient language or isolated tribal language (check with Bible translation Society) and then no interpreter can be found. Or every healthy person next week go to the doctors. Don’t even try to get an appointment, just go. Fill up them thar hospitals, clinics, and offices. One up their overwhelming of the system.

Rampant fraud on a New York City contract last year didn’t stop a major nonprofit from landing a slew of federal contracts to sign people up for ObamaCare.

Seedco, a New York-based community-development organization, was sued by the federal government for faking at least 1,400 of 6,500 job placements under a $22.2 million federally funded contract with the city.

Eighteen months later, the feds and Seedco are teaming up again, this time to help medical-insurance seekers maneuver through the maze that is the Affordable Health Care Act.

When ObamaCare’s open-enrollment period starts Tuesday, among the frontline agencies will be Seedco, which is partnering with dozens of agencies, such as the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, Food Bank for New York City and the Chinese American Planning Council, in each of the five boroughs.

The national nonprofit has also lined up federal contracts with agencies in Georgia, where it has a $2.1 million contract, and Tennessee, where it has a $1.2 million contract. …”

Seedco Financial to Partner With Goldman Sachs: 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative

New York (PRESS RELEASE – November 27, 2009) — Seedco Financial Services, Inc., a financial services organization providing funding and resources to support economic and social development, today announced a five-year grant partnership with Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs’ Urban Investment Group will provide $20 million in financing for underserved small businesses through Seedco Financial’s newly established “NYC Small Business Support Initiative.” Seedco Financial will also receive philanthropic support from Goldman Sachs to fund capacity building and technical assistance. The program’s financing and technical support initiative for small businesses is expected to lead to job creation and retention.

“Critical to the success of small businesses is access to capital in addition to high-caliber professional advisory and technical services,” explained Lesia Bates Moss, president of Seedco Financial. “Our program is innovative in that it combines financing with the deep functional expertise of seasoned management consultants, financial, marketing, operational and technical professionals along with mentoring and coaching by successful corporate executives who provide strategic guidance to help small business owners navigate challenges.”

With the Goldman Sachs funding, Seedco Financial will initiate two programs to support small businesses. The organization will expand the scale and reach of its small business lending platform for businesses that operate in underserved, low-to-moderate income communities of New York City. This platform also helps minority- and women-owned business enterprises. The additional loan capital will enable Seedco Financial to also develop place-based, micro-targeting strategies in commercial and retail corridors which do not traditionally qualify as areas of economic distress, but where there is demonstrable need as well as a viable economic rationale for loan deployment.

      Generation Investment Management LLP

Gore buys his carbon off-sets from himself—the Generation Investment Management LLP, “an independent, private, owner-managed partnership established in 2004 with offices in London and Washington, D.C.” of which he is both chairman and founding partner.

      Generation Investment Management LLP

      Ok So,,,,,,,

Al Gore set up a company called Generation Investment Management which was a company to profit on the sale of Carbon Credits.

He conveniently set it up off shore in London to escape SEC and IRS issues and it’s now worth over 2 Billion. One of the co-founders was Hank Paulson who later became the US Treasury Secretary.

At the time he was the head of Goldman Sachs as well as another Goldman Sachs executive named David Blood and between them they have generated over $200 Million in seed money to get his fleecing company off the ground.

There are at least 7 major Goldman Sachs executives on the board of Generation Investment Management funneling money into this company.

It is essentially a brokerage house that extorts companies for Carbon Credits. They were and are banking on Cap and Tax making this into a $10 Trillion a year company making them Billions. This is what Global Warming is about and all that it is about.

Generation Investment Management is the company which launched the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) and is the largest investor outside of Goldman Sachs.

The CCX has now branched into sister companies which are now headquartered in both CA and NY taking advantage of their Cap and Tax laws.

If this law is passed throughout the entire Country these companies stand to make fortunes beyond anything the world has seen.

Everything we buy, eat, and drive will have a bill attached directly from CCX / Gore. There will be no escaping it, and the structure is in place to take everything we have / earn will go into his greedy conglomerate.

  17. Will Obamacare drive us to this?

    Or this?

Here’s a song to cheer you up!

    • The dog medicine episode gives me an opportunity to make a point that’s been on my mind for quite some time (actually since about 2 years ago when I had a dog with bone cancer). Veterinary medicine is just as advanced in many ways as human medicine; veterinary training is as expensive and competitive as medical school, treatments available for things like cancer are as

sophisticated and require many of the same drugs and devices; I could go on and on but what is so striking is that veterinary treatments cost the consumer a FRACTION of what medical treatments cost. So….why?
      Here’s my thought
      1) No medicare, medicaid or other government intervention to manipulate costs
      2) For most of its history, no insurance (most signiciant). That is changing, wonder how it will affect out of pocket costs
      3) Liability so much lower. Lawsuits involving pets generally consider them as property, while anything involving a human life (for now, anyway) has unlimited liability because..how do you put a price on a life?

Just some things to think about as government becomes even more involved in our medicine.

      • You are spot on, SEO. Remember how before Medicare, you could go into your doctor’s office and pay about $20 out of pocket for your visit? Maybe even get a shot or a treatment right there (like mole removal, etc.) and that was your entire cost? Now a visit to a doctor (just the visit) costs hundreds of dollars. Anything else s/he does (like snip off a skin tag or give you a shot) costs more. Everything itemized and what, before Medicare, cost $20 now costs YOU $25 in “co-pay” and then your insurance company HUNDREDS of dollars. The government, when they invented “usual and customary” charges and DRGs, etc., AS USUAL with government, increased the bureaucracy, increased the size of government, and increased taxes to pay for all of it. It’s a jopsssss program for the DemoncRAT left’s peeps. It was the camel’s nose under the tent for their ultimate goal: communist single-payer. Of course, health insurance began the process, just as you see with dental charges. I used to be able to easily pay out of pocket for dental care. Visit, cleaning, x-rays, sometimes even a filling, would be less than $50. Now, because there’s “insurance”, dental charges have skyrocketed. Over a hundred bucks just for a checkup and cleaning. If you need a little filling? A couple hundred more. You pay premiums and co-pays and then find that both of those cost you FAR MORE than it used to cost just to pay the dentist directly for the services. Health care and dental care, just like government, is cheaper and more efficient the SMALLER THE BUREAUCRACY TO RUN IT IS. But DemoncRATS, socialists, Marxists, and communists LOVE BUREAUCRACY. It’s the source of all their POWER.

After getting an error message on the website, she called the help line twice, but wasn’t able to reach a navigator on the other end. Instead, she was put on hold for 35 minutes.

“If I were signing up for myself, this is where my patience would be exhausted,” Schiavocampo said before she gave up. …”

Will she be employed tomorrow? 🙂

  19. First this OUTRAGE: http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/elderly-veterans-barred-from-ww-ii-memorial.html

Elderly veterans will not be allowed to pay their respects at the World War II Memorial’s outdoor plaza in as a result of the government shutdown, angering a Mississippi congressman who is calling on President Obama to accommodate the aging warriors.

“I’m angry and I’m heartbroken,” Rep. Steven Palazzo [REPUBLICAN] told me. “This is how we are going to treat them? I think it’s a low-down move.”

The National Park Service confirmed that the World War II Memorial on the Washington Mall is expected to be barricaded by daybreak. An area for passenger buses will be blocked off, restrooms will be closed and the water will be turned off. [A deliberate poke at the elderly vets who have bladder problems? No water. No place to park the bus. No toilets. NICE, Barry. NICE way to treat HEROES. He never misses a beat, does he? And he’s SUPPOSED TO BE their commander in chief.]

Spokesperson Carol Johnson tells me park police will be on duty to make sure no one enters the outdoor plaza. [How much does it cost to pay these armed guards to keep vets out, versus just letting them walk through the OUTDOOR AREA? I’m telling you. They’re despicable.]

“These are national security icons,” she said. “They will be on duty to protect the monuments and the memorials.” [To protect the monuments and memorials from the HEROES they were erected to honor? If there were ANY justice in the Obamanation, and IF the media had any guts or ethics or morality left, this would LEAD the news. But it won’t. It will be buried.]

Palazzo said 91 Mississippi World War II veterans are expected to arrive in Washington, D.C. Tuesday as part of an Honor Flight. Many of the veterans are in their eighties and nineties.

“I don’t know if this is a political move or it’s bureaucratic oversight,” he said. “This may be the only opportunity for some of these veterans to see the memorial in their lifetime.”

So the congressman fired off a letter to President Obama urging him to instruct the National Park Service not to deny veterans access the monuments. [But it didn’t work, did it? See below.]

“It would truly be devastating to our veterans that travel great lengths to share this experience with family and friends and see a piece of their own history,” he wrote. …”

Well, they did it, locked the memorial up and the veterans out, but the Greatest Generation showed how it is that they WON THE WAR: http://freebeacon.com/wwii-vets-knock-over-shutdown-barrier-to-visit-wwii-memorial/

A group of World War II veterans in an Honor Flight group Tuesday knocked over barriers imposed during the government shutdown at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., to get inside.

As part of the federal government shutdown, national parks are closed. But the group of veterans continued to the monument Tuesday, as reported by Stars and Stripes reporter Leo Shane [via Twitter]:

Honor flight vets just knocked over the barriers at the WWII memorial to get inside, #shutdown or no.”

No sign of folks leaving. The vets have control of the memorial. #shutdown”

“Credit where due — I watched Rep Steve King distract a park police officer while vets and staffers knocked down the fences here. #shutdown” …

Update: WFB staff writer Lachlan Markay arrived at the WWII Memorial, where a second group of Iowa vets (in yellow shirts) have also arrived at the memorial. Park police are letting all vets through, according to Shane. [I’m surprised they didn’t have orders to shoot them. Will their brave protest be featured on the news tonight? Don’t bet on it.]

“We’re looking about how to deal with this in the future,” Park Police spokeswoman Carol Johnson said Tuesday. …”

Yes, when there are bad optics for Barry, when his lowness is seen as having no depths too far, then he will cave–but not for the vets. Oh, no. For himself and his own image.

  20. Shut ‘r down!!!

But wait! It’s still off to BALI for BARRY and Mooch, too! Isn’t that the plan? That she go along? http://s1.evcdn.com/images/edpborder500/I0-001/000/157/352-0.jpg_/larry-the-cable-guy-52.jpg

I heard on radio that there’s going to be the usual Wednesday night party at the WH, too.

This shutdown, as Glenn Beck says, is a great way to separate the wheat from the chaff. Only “nonessential” employees are furloughed. Begging the question: If they’re NONESSENTIAL, then what do they do that justifies stealing from our pockets to employ them?

  21. Question:

Why would are tax returns being faxed? Where does faxing come into the process?

    • That’s an excellent question. I wonder, too. It just introduces many other nodes where people’s personal information can be hijacked. Papoose: Your insight proves yet again how lame the media are. We ask the LOGICAL questions, the “elephant in the room” questions, and yet the so-called trained and diploma-ed “journalists” never ask the obvious (probably for fear of the answers). Wouldn’t you just LOVE to have to ask one of these ACORN-or-ACORN-descendant-employed “navigators” for “help” and then you must supply them with your most intimate details as well as COPIES of your tax returns? Let’s not EVER forget how the former incarnation of ACORN was caught feeding data they received from their clients directly TO THE DNC!!

      • Gotta love these rules. IF ONLY BARRY WOULD TAKE HIS OWN ADVICE!

“Additional excerpts from the Navigator Manual:

No fake smiles: “Do not pretend to smile, or produce a false smile; these are easy to spot and send the wrong messages.” – Section 2.2.1

Listen: “By not listening you can become very frustrating to consumers.” – Section 2.2.3

Apologize: “Apologizing when things go wrong demonstrates that you care about consumers and their experiences.” – Section 2.2.4

“Be Memorable – For the Right Reasons.” – Section 2.2.6 …”

After she interrupted him calling her out for portraying the GOP as the ones who are bringing the government to a shutdown, he hit back hard and told her that she wouldn’t talk to Republicans about their compromise, just like the the Senate won’t talk to House Republicans about their compromise.”

  31. http://www.infowars.com/obamacare-fines-to-be-seized-from-bank-accounts/

A man who attempted to sign up for Obamacare online was told that a fine of over $4,000 dollars a year for refusing to take out mandatory health insurance could be taken directly from his bank account, and that his drivers license would be suspended and a federal tax lien placed against his home, according to an entry on the HealthCare.gov Facebook page.

If true, the implementation of Obamacare is going to be a whole lot more draconian than Americans have been led to believe.

    Will Sheehan claims that when he tried to sign up for Obamacare and then register to opt out, he received an ominous warning. Sheehan’s full Facebook post reads;

“I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 “Silver Plan” and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I “opt-out” and chose to continue along with no insurance.

I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the “REPERCUSSIONS PORTION” for “non-payment” of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with “Non-Payment” and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy “Automatically withdraw” your “penalties” weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is “Free” or even “Affordable.”

Sheehan went on to point out that the site makes you input all your personal information before giving you an indication of the costs, meaning a database of the “uninsured” is being built. He added that he could not afford to pay the premium so would have to break the law and pay the fine, leaving him with no health care coverage….”
