Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service. In observance of the holiday, many people visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.

(a) Designation.— The last Monday in May is Memorial Day.

(2) designating a period of time on Memorial Day during which the people may unite in prayer for a permanent peace;
(3) calling on the people of the United States to unite in prayer at that time; and
(4) calling on the media to join in observing Memorial Day and the period of prayer.

      • Well, make time! Please. Sorry to say that. Watch a little at a time if you must. You know what it will be about, though, because you’re not one of the low-information (or no-information) voters. I’m sure you know how much communism is already in America, but this makes it much more clear. All the kids in schools should be watching it. That won’t come from the schools because they are basically communists. It will have to come from informed parents. Sad to see what has been happening to this country for many, many years.

        If this country fails, which it surely might, we’re the last little bit of light for many countries in the world. If America fails, the rest will follow.

  3. I don’t know what to make of this. It sounds as if Schieffer is criticizing Barry while at the same time giving him a pass, because he feels guilty for criticizing the first black POtuS (imho). You know:

    Well, he thought Nixon was the worst president for transparency, but now it sounds as if he wonders if Barry’s not worse, but then, again… all presidents do this, you know, and they all get progressively worse as they “learn from each other,” and Barry should “reconsider” his “communication” strategies before people start to think maybe he’s as bad as Nixon was, when we all know (isn’t this his subtext?) that Barry is just looking misunderstood here because he doesn’t realize what his people are doing to ruin Barry’s “credibility” (AS IF he EVER had any). BARRY can’t possibly be the corrupt one and it must be just that his people are incompetent and unaware of how they come across. Oy.

    We’re supposed to believe it’s coincidence that OHIO is where the IRS scandal originated, too:

    Vote fraud alert: One out of five registered Ohio voters is bogus

    Vote fraud is no big deal, right? It hardly ever happens. It’s so rare that it’s not even worth discussing. Anyone who claims to take the integrity of our ballots seriously is cynically exploiting phantom fears for the purpose of suppressing the Democrat-loving minority vote.

    To keep that silly narrative alive, it’s important not to read the Sunday edition of the Columbus Dispatch, in which readers were informed that “more than one out of every five registered Ohio voters is probably ineligible to vote.”

    Furthermore, “in two counties, the number of registered voters actually exceeds the voting age population: Northwestern Ohio’s Wood County shows 109 registered voters for every 100 eligible, while in Lawrence County along the Ohio River it’s a mere 104 registered per 100 eligible.”

    31 more counties report over 90 percent voter registration, which is a good 20 percent higher than the national average. The Buckeye State sure is civic-minded! Well, except that 1.6 million of the 7.8 million registered voters in the state haven’t voted in at least four years. So I guess they were civic minded, once upon a time. Never fear – I’m sure plenty of those “inactive” voters will reactivate themselves just in time for Barack Obama’s re-election.

    You might think these astonishing statistics indicate a crisis-level voter registration problem requiring immediate attention, particularly since this is 2012, not 1912, and modern technology gives us extremely potent tools for accurately managing massive amounts of data. But Attorney General Eric Holder disagrees. Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted sent Holder a letter back in February, warning that “common sense says that the odds of voter fraud increase the longer these ineligible voters are allowed to populate our rolls… I simply cannot accept that.” Husted said existing federal regulations “limit Ohio’s ability to remove ineligible names, thereby increasing the chance for voter fraud.”

    No one from the Justice Department ever responded. …”

    The story goes on to say that any POtuS installed who’s later found to have been elected via fraud will NOT be removed, which is why vote fraud needs to be “PREVENTED” not investigated after it’s too late. They also report that there are 24 MILLION ineligible people registered to vote throughout the country. Is there any doubt that Barry was “elected” by most of them?


    Washington launches four different investigations into IRS scandal

    … Capitol Hill aides spent their Memorial Day weekend scanning hundreds of pages of documents related to the IRS scandal in order to prepare their bosses for what will inevitably be a frantic month of June involving multiple simultaneous investigations into government wrongdoing. By the time lawmakers return to session next week, at least four different investigations will be underway.

    As The Daily Caller has reported, at least five different IRS offices including Cincinnati, Ohio; Baltimore, Maryland; Chicago, Illinois and El Monte and Laguna Niguel, California improperly targeted conservative nonprofit groups for extra scrutiny between 2010 and 2012. …”

    The four investigations are:

    1. The House Ways and Means Committee – Oversight Subcommittee (Boustany)

    2. The House Oversight Committee (Issa)

    3. Senate Finance Committee (CYA Baucus)

    4. The IRS (new head Werfel, but just to make sure they can fix it and “move on”, imho)

    What’s great about all this is that what’s said in one will be used as reference in the other. Oh, what a tangled web …

    Report: Holder Went Judge Shopping To Obtain Fox News Subpoena

    The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, a bulldog on the DOJ/Fox News secret subpoena story, reports that the effort by the Justice Department to obtain the controversial court order was arduous, contentious, and unsuccessful until finally a third judge acquiesced.

    The new documents show that two judges separately declared that the Justice Department was required to notify Rosen of the search warrant, even if the notification came after a delay. Otherwise: “The subscriber therefore will never know, by being provided a copy of the warrant, for example, that the government secured a warrant and searched the contents of her e-mail account,” Judge John M. Facciola wrote in an opinion rejecting the Obama Administration’s argument.

    Machen appealed that decision, and in September, 2010, Royce C. Lamberth, the chief judge in the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia, granted Machen’s request to overturn the order of the two judges.

    Lamberth, of course, iirc, dismissed some of Orly’s cases.


      Claim: Holder ‘Beginning to Feel a Creeping Sense of Personal Remorse’

      President Barack Obama’s attorney general, Eric Holder, is “beginning to feel a creeping sense of personal remorse.” The feelings of “remorse” began for Holder after he read an article in the Washington Post about how the Justice Department, which he heads, investigated Fox News reporter James Rosen.

      At least, this is the story unnamed aides are telling the Daily Beast.

      “[F]or Attorney General Eric Holder, the gravity of the situation didn’t fully sink in until Monday morning when he read the Post’s front-page story, sitting at his kitchen table. Quoting from the affidavit, the story detailed how agents had tracked Rosen’s movements in and out of the State Department, perused his private emails, and traced the timing of his calls to the State Department security adviser suspected of leaking to him. Then the story, quoting the stark, clinical language of the affidavit, described Rosen as ‘at the very least … an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator’ in the crime,” reports the Daily Beast.

      “Holder knew that Justice would be besieged by the twin leak probes; but, according to aides, he was also beginning to feel a creeping sense of personal remorse.” …”

      Awwwww. Don’t you feel so sorry for HIM?

  8. Personally I don’t think people such as Holder can understand the contrite feeling of “remorse”. They are not capable of true love in the first place so remorse would be highly unlikely. Sounds kind of harsh to you? To actually feel remorse you would need some sort of conscience. To have a conscience you would need a healthy set of morals or conduct in which you live your life with. These people don’t have any of that.

      Sure. They may have been GIVEN to them by someone who’s all for “unilateral disarmament” and who thinks the world will be safer, with less war, if EVERYBODY had the same weapons. It’s not “fair” after all, that the U.S. has a superior military and superior weaponry.

        White House: Obama will talk to China about hacking our weapon systems

        Chinese hackers gained access to some of the top weapon systems in the United States military, especially those that project American power in the Pacific, according to a Pentagon report prepared by a Defense Department advisory council, a topic that President Obama’s spokesman said would be discussed at his next meeting with Chinese leaders.

        “I’ve seen the report,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said during the press gaggle Tuesday. “I would refer you to the Pentagon for specifics about the potential hacking of weapon systems. But I would note, as you’ve heard from the president, his national security adviser and others, as well as myself, cybersecurity is a key priority of this administration. It is a key concern that we have. It is an issue that we raise at every level in our meetings with our Chinese counterparts, and I’m sure will be a topic of discussion when the president meets with President Xi in California in early June. It was certainly a topic of conversation when National Security Adviser Donilon was having meetings in China, from which he is just returning now.” …”

        I feel better now, don’t you?

      And is this MAJOR news actually MAJOR NEWS today in the USA? Of course not. It’s yet another failure of the Obama administration. We need to COVER UP ALL his failures. Otherwise, who would want him on Mount Rushmore?

He’s the first affirmative action POtuS, the first affirmative action Nobel Prize winner (no accomplishment necessary other than the stroke of luck that gave him “black” skin at birth), so why not make him the first affirmative action sculpted face on Mount Rushmore (again, NO ACCOMPLISHMENT NECESSARY OTHER THAN USURPING THE PRESIDENCY WHILST INELIGIBLE AND WARMING THE SEAT WHILST SOMEONE ELSE (WHO?) MAKES ALL THE CALLS).

  11. Is this a secret? Did someone plead guilty for the death of Jaime Zapata? Did Royce Lamberth hold the hearing?

    A commander of the Zetas drug cartel pleaded guilty Thursday, May 23, 2013 to the murder of ICE Special Agent Jaime J. Zapata and the attempted murder of fellow agent Victor Avila.

    Julian Zapata Espinoza, 32, also known as “El Piolin” entered the plea in a Washington, D.C., federal court before Chief Judge Royce C. Lamberth less than two weeks before he was to stand trial on the charges of murder and attempted murder in the shooting of the federal agents.

    • If this is some kind of whitewash, we’ll find out during the civil trial.

      “Agent Zapata’s family attended Thursday’s court proceedings along with attorney Trey Martinez of Brownsville, who said the Zapata family was “pleased” with the court proceedings that had occurred, but added this is just the beginning. The family has a $75 million lawsuit pending against the federal government and others. …”

      We’re supposed to believe this (and that there was no connection to Fast and Furious, drug and gun running, or anti-illegal-alien enforcement and surely none of these guys were on the U.S. payroll):

      “Zapata Espinoza said he and the others did not know that Agent Zapata and Avila were U.S. citizens and federal agents until after the ambush. He was arrested Feb. 23, 2011, at his residence in Mexico.

      The purpose of “stopping the armored vehicle was to steal it,” Espinoza Zapata said. …”

    • A reminder of WHO Lamberth is:

      “Announcing it’s “not her lucky day,” a federal judge in Washington, D.C., has told an eligibility attorney he has dismissed her case demanding information from the Social Security Administration regarding President Obama’s Social Security Number, sought because of suspicions it may be fraudulent.

      The case was filed by California attorney Orly Taitz, who has brought many of the major court challenges to Obama’s eligibility based on a lack of evidence that he meets the U.S. Constitution’s requirement that a president be a “natural-born citizen.” …

      The judge, Royce Lamberth, credited Taitz for her dedication to her cause but said that “today is not her lucky day.”

      He concluded that there’s no real interest in determining whether the Obama Social Security Number is genuine or fraudulent, arguing that the need for privacy for the president trumps all else. …”

      No REAL INTEREST in determining whether or not the president of the U.S. is using a FRAUDULENT SS#! So can an illegal alien use the same argument when he or she is asked to prove identity? How about when the IRS asks you for more information? Can you say your “need for privacy … trumps all else?”


    Michele Bachmann leaving Congress
    Republican will not seek re-election to 5th term

    One of the tea party’s strongest supporters is not coming back to Congress.

    Rep. Michelle [sic] Bachmann, R-Minn., announced she will not seek re-election next year.

    She made the announcement in a video posted on her website.

    Bachmann isn’t ruling out a run for another office.

    “Looking forward, after the completion of my term, my future is full, it is limitless, and my passions for America will remain,” she said in the video.

    Bachmann has served four terms representing Minnesota’s 6th District and is the chair of the Tea Party caucus, which she launched on July 16, 2010.

    She promised there “is no future option or opportunity” that she “won’t be giving serious consideration if it can help save and protect our great nation for future generations.” …”

    First we lose Sarah, now Michele.

    • Well, to stick around for four or five or more terms is sort of against Tea Party non-career politicians meme, so she could be living her convictions and being Tea Party minded in this.??

      • The DemoncRATS were going to go all out to target Michele in her reelection campaign. Pelosi was leading the charge against her, probably because the DemoncRATS always send out women to diss other women. I think she had an uphill climb, even though she’s a great representative of the people and the Tea Party is once again ascendant (I hope). I hope they know what they’re doing. We need to keep the House and take the Senate. The DemoncRATS are trying hard to take the House, too. If they do, then the last two years of Barry’s term (if he serves it out) will be hell for the American People.

        • One thing about the progdemigods are they know their targets. I lean towards they knew Michelle would not run again for the very reason that 5 terms is against the ideology she has grown into. By letting it out she was a target, it looks like, images it to be she is scared or intimidated. There is no way she is and she is up to something as is SP in dealing with and fighting the thugs. We will see. Dems may take credit or hope being intimidated is contagious but the joke is going to be on them. Michelle and Sarah are too smart for them and better war strategists. They are two of only a handful who actually understand what and who they are truly dealing with. They will not let America down. Count on it.

        • Was probably one of his “fact finding” missions. One fact he didn’t find: that the guys he posed with weren’t the guys they claimed to be and in fact were terrorists and kidnappers:

          However the aftermath of the trip has revealed some of the downsides. Upon his return, McCain allayed concerns that any aid provided to the Syrians might fall into the wrong hands – i.e. the hands of extremists – by saying, “We can identify who these people are. We can help the right people.” But then a report surfaced in the Daily Star, a Beirut newspaper, that some of the fighters whom McCain met are implicated in the kidnapping of religious pilgrims who are still under custody. …

          That it’s hard to figure out who a United States senator had his photo taken with does not portend well for the U.S. figuring out who should be deserving of weapons. …”

    • Yep. They’re going to buy up all our pigs. Seriously, watch for the price of OUR pork to “necessarily skyrocket” when the Red Chinese buy the largest pork producing company in the USA because their own pork is dirty and rotten. One good thing that might come from this: Maybe they’ll stop LIVING with pigs and stop creating newer and deadlier versions of the flu. IF this sale goes through, just try to find a pork product that’s NOT enriching the Chinese, our enemies:

      Will Paula Deen still represent them? Will the likes of the Daily Kos continue to demonize that company, given that they tend to prefer communists to capitalists? (Their gripe is that Smithfield doesn’t like unions.) Will Daily Kos still want people to boycott Smithfield? What a conundrum for them.

  14. its stuff like this that tells me we are done. it all adds up. our nation has been coup’d and we’re the neoslaves, each having a specific classification.

    i guess they do need to keep our Military spread all throughout the world on a wild goose chase.

    • I know. Can you believe it? Other tornado chasers were ALMOST killed by the same tornado. Their airbags deployed, so they survived rolling over 7 or 8 times.


      Listen, I’ve seen those thing and they’re to be respected. Thank God for basements. Oklahoma and other states in Tornado Alley should get serious about having storm shelters where people can take cover, since they apparently don’t have zoning that requires basements, or safe rooms, or wind mitigation. The technology exists but the contractors cut corners. People should insist on safe rooms, when they have homes built. Homes should be built to resist wind. It’s as simple as some braces and longer nails. Even “Auntie Em” had a storm shelter. I’m NOT saying that the taxpayers should pay for this, nor should others see their premiums skyrocket. People need to take responsibility for themselves, and insurance companies ought to charge premiums accordingly. People who live in flood zones pay more, after all.
