“What Will It Take to Mend the Nation?”

In his new release, “Mending the Nation,” artist John McNaughton sees a nation in “disarray.” The artist wonders what it will take to rebuild America in the wake of our current financial crises, a compromised military, attacks on our constitutional rights and the decline of the moral fabric of our society.
Each family member featured in “Mending the Nation” represents a different value: courage, family, hope, faith and love. McNaughton says those five are the keys to rebuilding America: “Each value is required to make it work. Remove one and the whole system fails.”
“What will it take to mend the nation?” McNaughton asks.
“I think that the American spirit is alive, and if we muster enough courage and commitment, it can be done.”

I had a vision of a family gathered around an American flag. Not just any flag, but that of a fallen serviceman, a father, a son, a daughter; the kind of flag that would be laid over a casket with great reverence. But upon examining the flag, one can see that it is in horrible condition. Its colors are faded, the edges are torn and there are many holes. It has been trampled and has not been treated with the honor and respect, which it deserves.
Today, our nation is in disarray. Our Constitution has been trampled, our financial solvency is in question, our military is compromised, and the decline of the moral fabric of our society is in question. Our government has lost the trust of the people. Our courts do not uphold the Constitution and the American people are afraid for the future of their children. What will it take to mend the nation?
I think that the American spirit is alive and if we muster enough courage and commitment it can be done. . The last time I saw such courage was after 9/11 when the country came together for a common good. If we are going to rebuild America I believe it will take FIVE VALUES. Courage, Family, Hope, Faith, and Love; each value is required to make it work—remove one and the whole system fails. In this painting, each member of the family represents a different value.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) criticized the Obamas for living a “life of excess” in her speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday, questioning the first family’s amenities in the face of budget cuts.

“They deserve to live in the White House, they deserve to fly on a private plane… [but] this is a lifestyle that is one of excess,” she said.
“We found out there are five chefs on Air Force One. There are two projectionists who operate the White House movie theater. They regularly sleep at the White House… in case the first family wants a really, really late show. I don’t mean to be petty here, but can’t they just push the play button?” she asked.
She went on to note that the Obamas have a paid dog-walker, and asked “Why are we doing that when we can’t get a disabled veteran into the WH for a White House tour?”
Bachmann said $1.5 billion in government funds are spent on the White House and amenities.

How does being called a birther slanderous? Oh my, I do believe to be a Birther is a badge of Honor and Pollak wants an apology for beign called one? NO MORE Breitbart for me. AT all.

As for the tool from Media Matters, do you notice the subtext of his argument: Pollak should have SUPPRESSED the article that they found, which said for nearly 20 years that Obama was born in Kenya, because it served to incite “conspiracy theories.”
IT SHOULD MATTER TO MEDIA “MATTERS”: MEDIA ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE CENSORSHIP BUSINESS. Their job is to give the truth, the WHOLE truth, and NOTHING BUT the truth.
If there’s contradictory evidence, then like at a trial, they should present ALL THE EVIDENCE, SUPPRESSING NOTHING, and let the jury (in this case, the public) DECIDE.
YOU REPORT; WE DECIDE. Media Matters should not be in the business of MAKING UP OUR MINDS FOR US AS IF WE HAVE NO BRAINS. IT’S NOT THEIR JOB TO SPOON FEED US ONLY WHAT THEY WANT US TO KNOW. It’s not their job to worry about what people may conclude about the evidence.
That publisher’s biography is DAMNING EVIDENCE that Obama is a liar. Either he was not born in Kenya but he lied to sell books, OR he was born in Kenya and he’s lying now to usurp the presidency unconstitutionally.
Pollak’s theory about the Clinton machine being the origin of the “birther” meme, in the context of that biography, doesn’t hold water. It’s a non sequitur . There WAS NO CLINTON machine 20 years ago that was planting anything about the ineligibility of a non-entity known as Barry Soetoro.
Oh but there is a possibility that Bill and Hill go way back and knew Barry and someone in his weirdo family, or his real family, I should say. Maybe they knew Barry wasn’t legit from the start cause they were always aware of his true origins…they wouldn’t even have had to investigate now would they?

What gets me is that this is what’s the most important thing to Pollak: That he was accused of being a birther. Isn’t it more important, Joel, WHY BARRY WOULD LIE ABOUT WHERE HE WAS BORN? The most important thing to these juveniles is who’s calling whom what?
