As we saw after the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords, the progressive left can very quickly ramp up their propaganda machine–they’re ready, willing, and able to politicize the tragic murder of innocents in Newtown, Connecticut

They have mobilized the complicit mainstream media; sent out the talking points to the Journolist (or its current incarnation) to shape the “narrative;” prepared hasty legislation  to ban “assault weapons” and limit ammunition sales, ownership, importation, and production; and called for a “commission” of unelected individuals to look into these shootings (no doubt focusing mainly on gun control)–all before the facts are in.

One wonders what part of “SHALL not be infringed” they don’t comprehend.

The progressive left wasted no time organizing an astroturfed protest outside the White House, just as after the Giffords shooting.  President Obama interjected himself into the memorial service for the victims, just as after the Giffords shooting, where that event was curiously “branded” and seemed more like a “pep rally“, complete with slogan-imprinted t-shirts, than a funeral.

Make no mistake.  The progressive leftists will not let a “serious crisis go to waste.”  How’s this for heartlessness?  [emphasis added to quotes]

Gun-rights activists recoil at the practice of harnessing tragedy to promote a political agenda.

To many of their opponents, there is no better moment to combat the gun violence than when the wounds are still fresh  …

Nothing is more powerful than a classroom of kindergarten kids getting killed by assault weapons,” says Bob Edgar, a preacher and former Democratic Congressman who is now the president and CEO of the liberal advocacy group Common Cause. Or, as a government employee who wandered over to the vigil from work put it:

“It helps that it was a bunch of white children in a school.”

It helps.  The deaths of white children in school “helps” them; therefore, they will use the deaths of innocents to promote their political agenda, ensuring that they don’t “waste” a “serious crisis.”  Let the demonizing begin:

[Democrat] Rep. Jerry Nadler said … that the president has only one option.

“There’s only one meaningful action he can take, which is to take on the N.R.A., label them as the enablers of mass murderers they are, really push for strong gun-control legislation and call out those congressional leaders who don’t support it. … It is time to call out the N.R.A. as enablers of mass murder and start embarrassing people and saying, ‘Who do you stand with? The parents and children of this country or the potential mass murderers?’”

At least Nadler didn’t, like Harry Belafonte, suggest that Obama should imprison his opponents like a Third World dictatorYet.

In the same vein, progressives plan a march on the NRA, as if the more than 200 million gun-owning, law-abiding citizens of the USA are somehow to blame for these murders.  Mayor Bloomberg alarmingly opined:

It’s time for the president, I think, to stand up and lead and tell this country what we should donot go to Congress and say, ‘What do you guys want to do?’ … What the president can do is number one, through executive action, he can order his agencies to to enforce the laws more aggressively.

The president of the United States is NOT a dictator.  He does NOT “tell this country what we should do.”

He has no constitutional power to legislate.  We the People RULE in this country.  The Congress are OUR REPRESENTATIVES.  As such, they are the deciders–not the president.  They write and pass legislation.  Obama’s only job with regard to legislation is to sign it or veto it when it reaches his desk.  Obama MUST ask the Congress what they want to do.  He does NOT rule via executive order, either, at least not constitutionally.

Never let a serious crisis go to waste, “by any means necessary.”  The goal of the gun control activists of the progressive left is to incrementally disarm the US population and thereby gut the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

Make no mistake, Hitleresque confiscation of all guns is their end game. Without disarming the citizens of the US, the progressive left (aka the communist collectivist socialists) will not be able to IMPOSE their dreamed-of new world order, their fundamental communistic transformation of the United States of America.

Why the selective outrage?  If leftists were truly concerned about gun violence and its root causes, then they would address all gun violence, not just mass shootings of a “bunch of white children.”  Where is their outrage over murders that happen every day, all across this country?

In September 2012, thirty-eight people were shot, 3 shot dead, over just one weekend in Chicago.  Thirty-three homicides by gunshot in Chicago over one month this year (11/9/12-12/9/12). Where is President Obama?  Where is the Democrat call for a commission to study the root causes of gun violence in Chicago and how to stop it? Why is there so much gun violence in Chicago, Obama’s “hometown”?

Recently, a federal appeals court struck down Chicago’s ban on carrying concealed weapons, as unconstitutional. Despite  rampant gun violence in Chicago, Chicago is one city that has extremely strict gun control laws (an assault weapon ban as well as registration of handguns).  Washington DC also has very strict gun control laws, yet both cities continue to have high rates of gun violence and gun homicides.

Connecticut also has strict gun control laws, yet that did not stop the shooting in Newtown.  The perpetrator stole the weapons, so he used them illegally. There have been various reports about the types of weapons the shooter used.  As well, there have been conflicting stories about whether or not the shooter used a high-powered rifle or whether that gun was left behind in his car.  But the media never allow facts to get in the way of a good progressive, leftist meme, so they will blame assault weapons and ammunition, and not the shooter’s obvious mental illness or the school’s lack of security.

Guns are forbidden on school property, so that gun control law failed to stop this crime.  What  might have stopped it?  An armed security guard or an armed and trained teacher.  Or simply locked school and classroom doors.  These are logical, common sense solutions promoted by those with the most experience dealing with criminals and gun violence:  law enforcement officers:

St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch says it is time to talk about arming civilian school personnel following Friday’s massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, comparing it to arming airline pilots after September 11, 2001.

“I see it no differently,” he said. “Pilots have been armed now for many many years, we’ve not had another hijacking and the issue is, for the bad guy, he doesn’t know which airplane he’s getting on, if the pilot is armed or not.”

Fitch said the killing will not be stopped by legislation or laws.

“If there’s somebody that’s really hellbent on doing something like this, they’re not going to care what the law is.” …

Concerning the possibility of gun control, Fitch said “it’s just not going to happen,” and called for an increased focus on mental health instead. …

We know this individual has a mental health history in Connecticut, we’ve seen that in all the school shootings, and additional resources would be helpful.

Police chief Fitch echoed words spoken in a seminar two years ago:

[Lt. Col. Dave] Grossman said that agencies and officers, although facing an uphill slog against the denial of the general public, must diligently work toward increasing understanding among the sheep that the wolves are coming for their children.

Police officers must train and drill with teachers, not only so responding officers are intimately familiar with the facilities, but so that teachers know what they can do in the event of an attack. …

Grossman said that if the school administrators at Columbine had spent a fraction of the money they’d spent preparing for fire — if the teachers there had spent a fraction of the time they spent preparing for fire — doing lockdown drills and talking with local law enforcers about the violent dangers they face, the outcome that day may have been different.

Grossman said (and most cops agree) that many of the most important things we can do to protect our kids would cost us nothing or next-to-nothing.

Among Lt. Col. Grossman’s suggestions?

Put police officers in schools, because with just one officer assigned to a school, the probability of a mass murder in that school drops to almost zero.

Ensure that the school/classroom have just a single point of entry. Simply locking the back door helps create a hard target.

Conduct your active shooter drills within (and in partnership with) the schools in your city so teachers know how to respond, and know what it looks like when you do your response.

Armed citizens can help.  … Whatever your personal take on gun control, it is all but certain that a killer set on killing is more likely to attack a target where the citizens are unarmed, rather than one where they are likely to encounter an armed citizen response.

We must prepare for violence like the firefighter prepares for fire. And we must do that today.

Do we try to prevent fires by calling for a ban on electricity, matches, lighters, or anything else that causes fires?  Obviously not.

Do we try to prevent drunk driving deaths by calling for a ban on automobiles or alcohol?  Obviously  not.

So why do leftists, in knee jerk fashion, cry “gun control!” whenever a crime like this occurs?  Why do they  focus on the inanimate object instead of on the agency of the shooter, his motives, his mental illness, or upon how to prevent such deaths through better training and better security at schools?

Because their goal is gun confiscation. They merely use these “serious” crises as an EXCUSE to promote their Hitleresque agenda.

What might stop some of the murders in Chicago? A populace that is not unconstitutionally banned  from carrying weapons outside their homes.

The school in Newtown had a new security system.  And yet, their “security system” failed. The shooter allegedly broke a window to get in.  (If true. The news media continue to report contradictory “facts”.)

Some security system if someone can merely break a window to gain access, while carrying a huge rifle and wearing combat clothing! 

What went wrong? That remains to be seen.  Inadequate security or poor training, but taking guns and ammunition away from law-abiding citizens will not prevent school shootings.

To those who are against armed security guards in schools or against allowing school employees with concealed carry permits to carry weapons into schools, I say this:

Let’s disarm all bodyguards, then.  No Hollywood leftists should have armed guards.  Disarm the Secret Service.  Disarm them all.  Why are the lives of Hollywood leftists and DC politicians more important than the lives of precious, innocent school children?

To those who say schools should not be fortresses, I say this:

Take all the locks off your own doors. Leave your doors wide open.  Disarm your security systems.  Why do you make your home a fortress?

We need to be reasonable and not allow leftists and gun control activists to use this “serious crisis” to further their political agendas.

When the Founders wrote the right to keep and bear arms into the Constitution, they knew exactly what they were doing:  Ensuring the SECURITY of a FREE state.

Once We the People are disarmed, only the government and criminals will have weapons.  Once the elite government class are the only ones with weapons, then they can impose upon the People whatever tyrannical regime they like.  Remember what happened in Nazi Germany.  Don’t fall for their propaganda.

    Every place where they enacted gun bans and control have had crimes run rampart and the citizens are the ones that pay the price because they are the ones that are left to protect their homes and family’s with nothing but harsh words and perhaps a knife or two!

    Obama and his dog Holder need to be recycled back to the Communist regime they got turned lose from.

    People in Australia and England to name just two are telling us that gun control don’t work, and if you remember history Hitler almost concurred all of Europe because the people had given up their guns and could not mount any kind of defense, perhaps that is what Obama is hoping for here in the United States, weaken our economy then get rid of our second amendment, which was written into our Constitution to protect us from people like Obama who want to concur from within.

    When are the Political going to honor their oaths of office and protect the people and our Constitution and make this once again the land of the free?

    • It’s evil. Unless human intervention caused that shooter to do what he did, then I can truly believe in demonic possession. Look at his face. The face in the photo that is not being publicized. Instead, they’re showing us a photo from when he was in elementary school, as with Trayvon Martin.

      That is the face of evil. His actions were the actions of EVIL. It wasn’t the method. It was the perpetrator.

      Of course they want to take the guns (300 million of them) so that We the People “can’t mount any defense.” That’s it exactly. Then we are defenseless.

  5. As totally expected…BHO was an unnecessary person at a PRAYER VIGIL – as if he didn’t know what those words Prayer Vigil meant. Did those grieving appreciate his politicizing their tragedy, their losses, and fears? He is a disgrace. I put myself into those people’s shoes, and resent him for being there. As if the people haven’t been through enough, did they have to be searched or was the area cordoned off so BHO could have the platform?

    • I had the same thoughts, Bridgette. If this had happened to my family, I’d resent the hell out of him showing up, hogging the cameras, hogging the ceremony, making a political photo-op for himself. But then again, this is CT and it’s a state full of Democrats. I read that people lined up to meet him. WHY? I don’t understand much of what’s going on. I didn’t understand parents allowing journalists to question their children the day of the shooting. I don’t understand people watching TV to learn how to talk to their children, as if they OUGHT TO talk to them. I would turn off the TV and avoid talking to them about this. Are they trying to traumatize the kids? I clearly remember being traumatized by those nuke drills when we were kids. I remember cowering in fear whenever a plane went over, in the sixties. Fearful it was the Cubans or the Russians, ready to drop one on us. I don’t understand people whose children died going on national TV. I never understand the families of murdered people being on the 5 o’clock news. I would guess that the people at the memorial DID have to be searched and that the site was cordoned off. The media is NOT going to tell us how inconvenienced these grieving people were made by this potus who has to be the center of everything. He hasn’t the common sense to know his place. He spoke for 20 minutes. Just imagine. 20 minutes of his drama.

        Trustees at the Harrold Independent School District approved a district policy change last October so employees can carry concealed firearms to deter and protect against school shootings, provided the gun-toting teachers follow certain requirements.

        Superintendent David Thweatt told Fox News the policy was initiated because of safety concerns.

        “We have had employees assaulted before by people in the last several years,” Thweatt said. “I think that safety is big concern. We are seeing a lot of anger in society.”

        In Michigan, the upper and lower chambers of the state legislature recently voted to allow gun owners with conceal carry permits and extra training to carry their weapons in a concealed manner in designated gun-free zones: schools, day care centers, sports arenas, bars, places of worship, hospitals, dorms and casinos. It should be noted that the state legislature voted on this bill the day before the Sandy Hook School Massacre. Michigan’s Republican Governor Rick Snyder has yet to sign the bill. “

    As gun control advocates and even some gun rights supporters call for renewed focus on gun control, including a ban on assault weapons, following Friday’s shooting in Newtown, Conn., the White House tamped down suggestions Monday that it will act quickly on the issue.

    When asked at Monday’s press briefing about the gun lobby’s influence on potential action, White House spokesman Jay Carney responded, without specifically mentioning that lobby, “I think we all recognize that this is a complex problem and there are obstacles to taking action coming from a variety of places. What the president hopes is that everyone steps back and looks at the situation that has to be addressed and thinks broadly and thoughtfully about how we can move forward.”

    Carney suggested that the most Americans can immediately expect to see out of the White House will be an effort to engage the public “in the coming weeks.”

    He added that “no single piece of legislation, no single action will fully address the problem. So I don’t have a specific agenda to announce to you today. I would simply point you to what the president said last night about moving forward in the coming weeks.”

    But Carney later stretched that timeline when asked about a potential loss of momentum on the issue. “It’s hard to think about 20 6- and 7-year-olds and what happened to them on Friday, and imagine that in a few weeks or few months that pain would not still be incredibly intense,” he said.”

    Now this is very interesting. Is he afraid to “engage” on this before he’s inaugurated, lest somebody who’s previously been cowed lets the cat out of the proverbial bag? Meaning somebody who KNOWS the truth of his ineligibility might speak up? Oh, how I’d love to believe that.

    What’s up with this? Barry talking about mental health and other aspects of this problem? Also how he needs to include mental health professionals and law enforcement in the discussion. Curious!

    Never let it be said that Barry didn’t stimulate at least one part of the economy.

  10. Perspective … Knives should no longer be a staple in the kitchen or for meals. Use a spoon or bite it into pieces – cave man style. Ban them. In fact ban anything with a point…pencils, pens, nails, pins, screws, hangers, or even forks, etc.

The research is published in the British Medical Journal. The researchers said there was no reason for long pointed knives to be publicly available at all.     So the entire premise of Sharia finance is that there is NO INTEREST. If you borrow money, it is at zero percent, because the paying of interest is “haram”, which means “forbidden”, according to Sharia law. Got it? Good. Now, let me walk you through the reality of Sharia finance, and I warn you, don’t drink while you’re reading this, because if you do, you stand a good chance of spewing your Dr. Pepper out your nose, and I won’t be responsible for that.

    Let’s say a person buys a $150,000 home on a 15 year mortgage at 5%. Purely for the sake of simplicity, let’s just say zero down. The amortization table shows that over those 15 years, or 180 months, at 5% interest, the monthly payment would be $1186.19 and that the total interest expense paid over the life of the mortgage would be $63,514.28. So, principal plus interest would be $213,514.28 for the $150,000 property.

    Now here is an “interest-free” Sharia loan scenario. And bear in mind that I am dead serious here. I’m not making this up. A musloid walks in to a “Sharia-compliant” lender and tells them that they want to buy a $150,000 property on a 15 year term. The Sharia-compliant lender then looks up what the going INTEREST RATE is. (Uh, Houston, we have a problem.)

    In our example, it is 5% on a 15 year mortgage. The musloid banker then calculates the amortization table on a 15 year loan on $150,000 at 5%. (Uh, Houston, we’ve had some sort of major malfunction here.)

    He sees that the total interest expense would be $63,514.28. So, the “Sharia-compliant” lender then offers to buy the property at $150,000 and immediately sell it to the customer for . . . $213,514.28. The customer then sets up a note to repay the $213,514.28 in 180 equal monthly payments of $1186.19 at “zero percent”, because $213,514.28 divided by 180 is $1186.19. Voila! Zero interest!

    That’s it. I’m not kidding. I’m not making this up. If I was going to make something up, I would make something up that wasn’t totally, completely, laughably stupid.

    A man who police say killed his father, a woman and himself in Wyoming on Friday told a neighbor in Connecticut weeks before the killings that he believed his father gave him Asperger’s syndrome and said his dad should be “castrated” to prevent him from having more children

    Neighbor Matt DiPinto of Vernon, Conn., told local reporters that Christopher Krumm made the comments while giving him a ride home a few weeks ago.

    “He’s like, `So my dad gave me Asperger’s … and my dad should have never had any kids. He should have never had me and passed it on to me, and the government shouldn’t have let him have kids,'” DiPinto told Fox affiliate WTIC-TV. “It was just out of nowhere … but he seemed pretty livid about it.”

    Police in Casper, Wyo., say Krumm shot an arrow into the head of his father, James Krumm, with a high-powered bow Friday while his father was teaching a computer science class at Casper College.

    James Krumm, 56, managed to wrestle with his 25-year-old son and gave time for about six students to flee, an act police called heroic. Authorities say both men died after Christopher Krumm stabbed himself and then his father. Before the classroom attack, police say Christopher Krumm fatally stabbed his father’s live-in girlfriend, Heidi Arnold, 42, at the home she shared with James Krumm about two miles from campus.

    The motive for the attack isn’t clear.

    Vernon police searched Christopher Krumm’s apartment on Friday night. Officers didn’t disclose what they found, but said any items of interest would be turned over to investigators in Wyoming.

    Neighbors say Christopher Krumm moved into the apartment building last summer and appeared to work in construction or for a utility, because he wore a neon safety vest, The Hartford Courant reported. They say he was quiet and appeared to be anti-social.

    The killings stunned people in the apartment building.

    “It’s so insane,” said Kim Warren, another of Christopher Krumm’s neighbors. “You never would have guessed he would have done something like that.”

    Mickie Goodro, of Twin Falls, Idaho, a friend of James Krumm and Arnold, told the Casper Star-Tribune that Christopher Krumm was in her Calculus class when she taught at Casper College. Krumm graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper in 2005 and studied electrical engineering at Colorado School of Mines, the newspaper reported.

    Christopher Krumm’s previous addresses include one in the western Massachusetts city of Springfield and others in the Colorado cities of Golden, Fort Collins and Lakewood.

    That seems to have not happened. We’ve heard no universal condemnation of that guy who said it “helps” their anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment cause that these were “white children” who were killed. Obama and his krewe wasted NO TIME politicizing this event. Today, I read an column by Dana Milbank where he decried how Barry allowed himself to be distracted by questions about the fiscal cliff, when he was supposed to be talking about (and politicizing) the Sandy Hook massacre. Milbank worried that the momentum was getting lost. Is this the REAL reason Barry’s returning early from Hawaii? To push his gun control/confiscation plans or to help the economy?

        8 a.m. show at about 1:24 but it’s a strange audio. It jumps from one subject to another. For some reason, the page header says this is from January 3, 2013, which is tomorrow! At 18:04, he replays an audio where a spokesperson says only 4 HANDGUNS were taken into the school and the rifle was left in the car, according to “several officials”. After that, he plays audio of someone saying it was the “long rifle” that killed most people but he also has audio of a reporter saying a “long rifle” is found in the trunk and police were shown “clearing the” ammo from the gun.

    • SEO, we’ve talked a bunch of times about the changing story. How originally most of the reports were that he left the “rifle” in the car. I read yesterday, somewhere, that there was even video of the cops taking the rifle from the car. (It wasn’t linked and I didn’t have time to go looking for it.)

      I saw and spoke here on the blog about a video of a man who brought some of the kids into his home right after the incident. These children told him that the shooter had two “little guns” and that he used one of them to kill their teacher. Then suddenly the “official story” became that the “Bushmaster” was the gun used to kill everyone, except that Lanza killed himself with a handgun.

      Later on, I read a story that said it was a SHOTGUN left in the car, not a Bushmaster, which wasn’t called a Bushmaster until Obama started his campaign for gun control. It was variously referred to as a 223 or an AR-15. But clearly, early on, they reported that he left the “rifle” in the car. These were the articles written that very day. I was following them as they were published.

      A shotgun is not a rifle. I’ve since learned that a Bushmaster is nothing more than a cosmetically jacked up 22 rifle. I’m not a gun expert, so I can’t speak authoritatively about that. I do know what a 22 is and it’s not a high caliber weapon; it’s more like something people shoot rabbits with. The difference is that they added these features that made this particular gun look “meaner”, more like a military weapon and one that is carried like an machine gun or the like.

      I did see that video earlier, about the father who seemed to be laughing and joking. Some people said it was just nervous laughter. But it did strike me as odd. I was reminded of Bill Clinton at Ron Brown’s funeral, where he suddenly became sober and weepy when he noticed the cameras on him. However, people react differently to stress and extreme emotion. Some people compartmentalize. This father changed his demeanor when it came time for him to speak about what happened. Maybe before that, he’d buried it, which is why he was able to appear to be more light hearted; but when it came down to dredging up the memories and speaking about his little girl, he began to choke up again. I don’t understand, myself, how any of these people can go on TV after what happened to them. If I were in their shoes, I wouldn’t even answer the phone, much less talk to these reporters or, heaven forbid, appear on televised interviews. I don’t know what goes through their minds. It makes no sense to me, but people do it. A lot of people do, so maybe I’m the weird one.

      I did notice early on that the media chose that man’s little girl, the pretty blond girl, as their poster child. Yet her father made statements (not reported in the lamestream) where he specifically said that the fault lies with the shooter. With his own “free agency”, meaning his free will: He’s the guilty party and he will pay the price for his sins. That’s how I heard what he said.

The Dad was traumatized; don’t think he is internally going along with the mother on not seeing the body. The mother seems to be reading from a script. The first guy was surreal to watch. People do not act this way within two days of a death; maybe a week later, after all the tributes and eulogies offered up, one would have all these ‘resources of memory’ so ready to be perfectly verbalized. Grief does not typically allow one to eulogize so soon with memories of ‘was’ or ‘had’ , etc., No slip up to the child being in the present. People do not instantly accept death and it takes time and processing to speak of as dead, when close to the deceased.

      Oh, my God. What parent would not look at their child and if to look at the distorted child would keep one’s mind from seeing all her beauty? Who identified the bodies? Dental records are second and/or work with FIRST a next-of-kin identificaiton. Creepy. Surreal. And yes, I am passing judgement.

  27. Was is ever discovered what years Nancy Lanza worked at John Hancock or her position with John Hancock?

    The reason I ask is because when I was researching this family I found That a couple of CEO’s at John Hancock were fined by the courts (I believe it was the late 80’s) for wining and dining Representatives of Congress for special favors in writing law’s that would benefit John Hancock.

    I traced the information and it led me too yep….Ted Kennedy, who of course had a huge hand in Obamacare. It made me draw a huge humm. But I was never able too find what Nancy Lanza’s position was at John Hancock or the exact years that she worked there. Did Nancy know too much? was she ready too release something she may have known? like I said, the information just made me wonder…

    I don’t know what to think about that site and the theories there, but they have a lot of links. I found it while looking for the video to the audio that Boyle plays, where someone says “four handguns recovered inside the school.” This site says that was Pete Williams speaking; I assume of NBC? That site claims to have a link to the source, but I can’t find it there.

    In addition, Williams reports that on 12/11/12 Lanza went to a store to TRY to buy another rifle but he was denied because of a waiting period in CT.     So her headline retracting the false information says that the shooter did NOT use an assault weapon and yet her retraction says that the coroner says that he did NOT use handguns. So what kind of gun did he use, IF ANY?

    • I find this disturbing on so many levels. I had never seen this before. This is allegedly of the two blond sisters of Emilie Parker, after the shooting. WHY are they there? Why the smiles? Why those outfits? Fitting? I realize the children don’t understand, but does this look like a birthday party instead of a very, very sad occasion?

But if so, tell me this–did they dress one of the sisters in Emilie’s black and red dress for the photo op with the potus? If not after the tragedy, then upon what occasion did the Parker girls meet this man?

        • Gordo, I replaced the quote with a link to the video at You Tube, where people can read Dr. P’s intro. One of the commenters points out that in the family photo, one of the little girls on his lap has no legs. That does seem odd. This whole situation makes me queasy. There’s seemly and unseemly. That photo op seems disturbingly unseemly to me. As does the inappropriate laughter. I won’t even “go there” and comment on the red and black color scheme.
