First some disappointing but not unexpected news. Boehner purges fiscal conservatives from key committees: [emphasis added to quotes]
Effective next Congress, leadership pulled Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp, Michigan Republican Rep. Justin Amash and Arizona Republican Rep. David Schweikert off committees from which they could exert conservative pressure on fiscal matters. Amash and Huelskamp were pulled from the Budget Committee and Schweikert from the Financial Services Committee.
Huelskamp, a freshman elected during the 2010 tea party wave, thinks the leadership move to pull him from the powerful committee is revenge for him standing up for conservatism. “It is little wonder why Congress has a 16 percent approval rating: Americans send principled representatives to change Washington and get punished in return,” Huelskamp said in a Monday night statement. “The GOP leadership might think they have silenced conservatives, but removing me and others from key committees only confirms our conservative convictions. This is clearly a vindictive move, and a sure sign that the GOP Establishment cannot handle disagreement.”
I heard someone this morning on the Jamie Allman radio show say that Tea Party II will dwarf Tea Party I. We shall see. When will they ever learn?
The columnist quoted by Bob Costas on Sunday Night Football has done it again. This time, he compares the NRA to the KKK; but he doesn’t know his history. Typical leftist! Some interesting history for you:
This will give you an idea of how gun control laws worked. Following the firebombing of his house in 1956, Dr. Martin Luther King, who was, among other things, a Christian minister, applied for a gun permit, but the Alabama authorities found him unsuitable. A decade later, he won a Nobel Peace Prize.
How’s that “may issue” gun permit policy working for you?
The NRA opposed these discretionary gun permit laws and proceeded to grant NRA charters to blacks who sought to defend themselves from Klan violence — including the great civil rights hero Robert F. Williams.
A World War II Marine veteran, Williams returned home to Monroe, N.C., to find the Klan riding high — beating, lynching and murdering blacks at will. No one would join the NAACP for fear of Klan reprisals. Williams became president of the local chapter and increased membership from six to more than 200.
But it was not until he got a charter from the NRA in 1957 and founded the Black Armed Guard that the Klan got their comeuppance in Monroe.
I’ll take this opportunity to remind everyone of these facts: Abraham Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN. The REPUBLICAN party is responsible for passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The original House version got 80% GOP support, the Senate version got 82% and the final vote in the House was 82% of Republicans in support. On the other hand, Congressional Democrats never saw higher than 69% of its membership in support of civil rights for blacks.
And who one of the leading voices in favor of passage? It was Illinois Senator Edward Dirksen, a Republican. Who was a leading voice opposing civil rights? Senator Robert Byrd, Democrat from West Virginia …
If it were up to Democrats in 1964 the Civil Rights Act would never have passed.
Inconvenient truths as well as convenient deaths. There’s a new book out about the Vince Foster “suicide”. Gateway Pundit has an interesting take on it:
Before Hillary Clinton and the Obama-Clinton regime blamed the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans on a YouTube video, the Clinton White House blamed the death of Vince Foster on the Wall Street Journal.
On July 20, 1993, Vince Foster, President Bill Clinton’s childhood friend and Hillary Clinton’s closest White House confidante, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head in Fort Marcy Park, McLean, Virginia. His shocking and untimely passing was the highest ranking government official’s death since President John Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963.
Foster’s mysterious death sparked a firestorm of controversy that engulfed the nation. Was it murder or suicide? The charges leveled against Hillary and Bill Clinton were serious: Foster knew too much.
Salon magazine actually blamed Jerry Falwell for the WSJ editorials–the same editorials that Clinton blamed for Foster’s death! There’s a long history of conveniently dead people in the past few Democrat regimes.

The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks is setting up a program to train foreign students to fly unmanned aircraft.
UND’s Unmanned Aircraft program director, Al Palmer, said the university is buying three flight simulators, which can teach pilots to fly aircraft such as the Predator, for an Air Force research project. The university plans to use the equipment to attract international students. …
[A]ny training program that includes international students must be approved by the State Department, a process that takes several months. …
“United Arab Emirates was the first to purchase the export version of the Predator, and I suspect there will be other countries that will take a look at using those devices as well,” [Program Director Al Palmer] said. “They’ll be looking for organizations for training and, of course, we would like to provide that training.”
Palmer planned to attend an unmanned aircraft conference in Abu Dahbi later this month to gauge interest in the training program.

A man charged with detonating a homemade explosive device outside a Social Security Administration office in Arizona had researched how to construct a particular explosive that authorities say has been used in terrorist bomb plots, according to a criminal complaint.
Abdullatif Ali Aldosary, 47, was charged in federal court with maliciously damaging federal property by means of explosives and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He appeared in a Phoenix courtroom Monday but didn’t enter a plea. He is set to appear again on Wednesday. …
Authorities said no employees were in the building at the time, no one was injured, and the damage wasn’t extensive.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives initially opened an investigation but soon gave the case to the FBI.
Chances are, you didn’t hear about that story. I didn’t until media watchers began to notice the story being buried, along with certain facts. From a story published yesterday:
The major mainstream media outlets continue to ignore whatever doesn’t contribute to the agenda actively promoted by our so-called leaders. Thus far, only local media in Arizona have reported the name of the man arrested. …
While the little town of Casa Grande and the nearby Phoenix area are talking about the incident, virtually no one else is. In fact, the only reason I was following the story is because I’m presently in the area and saw the initial reports on the explosion and continued to look into it .
Within 90 minutes of the explosion, police had a suspect in custody. But you wouldn’t know it from reading the establishment media reports this past weekend. One reason might be that the suspect is 47-year-old Abdullatif Aldosary of Coolidge, AZ, an Iraqi refugee.
Undetermined as yet whether Aldosary is Muslim. Wanna make a guess?

Ooops, you missed my comment about Aldosary. It got buried because of the comment on the exposing Obama article. But I didn’t hear about it on the MSM – unless I missed it. But if they reported it, they didn’t report he was an Iraqi immigrant refugee? – allowed into this country, and was in prison here for another charge and not deported. Reporting on it would be admitting the administration failed in vetting him or hushing it up like they did about Hassan the Islamic MUSLIM Terrorist in U.S. army clothing that murdered our soldiers at Ft. Hood. Which brings me to the recent news about his trial. His judge was removed.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — The military judge who ordered the Fort Hood shooting suspect’s beard to be forcibly shaved has been thrown off the case, but the ruling ends lengthy delays in the trial of the Army officer charged with the 2009 rampage that killed 13 people.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces ruled Monday that Col. Gregory Gross did not appear impartial while presiding over the case of Maj. Nidal Hasan. Hasan faces the death penalty if convicted in the 2009 shootings on the Texas Army post that killed 13 people and wounded more than two dozen others.
The court said it was not ruling on whether the judge’s order violated Hasan’s religious rights. Hasan has argued that his beard is a requirement of his Muslim faith, although facial hair violates Army regulations. [So Muslim faith now trumps his being a US soldier who is still receiving a salary!]

Wow! I did miss that one. Sorry. You have a lot more information about him that the story I found. I heard this on the radio this morning. Thanks. I’m behind on reading all the posts and reading my Breitbart updates, too! I usually post from the dashboard (readers won’t know what I’m talking about here) OR I’m in a hurry to put something in comments while I’m multitasking. My bad!
This all just infuriates me. These are the REAL “domestic terrorists” while the likes of Naps (Big Sis Napolitano) go around looking for Tea Partiers or non-existent “white supremacists”.

The crowds had gathered nearby in what organizers had dubbed “last warning” protests against Mursi, who infuriated opponents with a November 22 decree that expanded his powers. “The people want the downfall of the regime,” the demonstrators chanted.
“The president left the palace,” a presidential source, who declined to be named, told Reuters.”

When I read that, I thought the same thing. Only 10,000? Are they lying (like they do about the Tea Parties) OR has Morsi’s and the Muslim Brotherhood’s campaign of intimidation worked? I heard on radio yesterday that they’re sending out squads of thugs to frighten protestors. There were hundreds of thousands protesting just days ago. Over the weekend, iirc. 100,000 makes a lot more sense, in light of the fact that he fled and that the people seem royally P.O-ed. (I couldn’t figure out how to abbreviate that!) I wonder if Barry is taking note?

I used to like him. My error. He’s a pig.
He had to play nice knowing he needed money to rebuild. He probably took his cues from watching how Jindal in Louisiana got shafted continually for speaking out against Obama during the BP spill. I think I read recently he added or wants to add a few more Muslim judges to the courts in New Jersey (many Muslims in his state apparently). I remember quoting an article about this awhile back that he was a Republican but acting as a Democrat by befriending Muslims. I don’t remember if he was in the running for governor at the time or was governor.
I liked what he said too, but was really offended in how he cow-towed to BHO just before the election and that is what made headlines. The photo op helped Obama over the finish line.

I do think that photo op played a large part in helping Barry get re-selected by voter fraud. They can’t do it ALL with fraud so even a few more “folks” voting for him helps, no matter if they only choose him on account of some ridiculous photo op. Being the loudmouth outspoken guy he is, why would Christie choose to kowtow instead of speaking out?
I thought I liked him, too. I remember someone warning us that he has a particular sympathy for Muslims.
Now that he has a cozy relationship with BHO, he might get it. How much money do we have left or does it have to be borrowed from China to pay for a measly $40 BILLION in federal aid? Will it be applied to the federal deficit?
Heard the results of a poll on Rush Limbaugh. He says a majority believe that the hurricane was caused by global warming. What a crock. These polls mean squat because it all depends upon what they ask and how they ask it and what the media hypes. They probably believe shark attacks are caused by “climate change”, too. I heard there’s a poll that says that MOST don’t want taxes raised on anyone and do want spending cut. So there!

That UN conference on censoring the Internet begins:
“While almost all of the U.N. meeting is secret, many documents have leaked, including one proposal from the Russian delegation declaring “the sovereign right … to regulate the national Internet segment.”
It echoes a call from Russian President Vladimir Putin last year calling for “global control over such [Internet] exchange. This is certainly a priority on the international agenda.”
[US ambassador] Kramer said the Russian proposal worried him.
“Candidly, we were very concerned with the Russian proposal. I think it was the most stark in nature of all the proposals that have been put out, because it basically is proposing Internet governance managed either by the ITU or the national government. There are traffic routing proposals in there that would open the door to potential censorship, which obviously we don’t agree with,” Kramer said. …
Ambassador Kramer confirmed that the ITU does not currently regulate the Internet – but said that other countries are proposing that it do so.
“The ITU, I think, is concerned about [the Russian proposal], because for all their good work in saying ‘we are not going to be talking about Internet governance,’ the Russian proposal that came in directly suggests it.”
Kramer discussed the U.S. delegation’s strategy in opposing any Internet regulation.
The U.S. does not have veto power over resolutions adopted at this U.N. conference, but it does have the right not to implement regulations that are adopted. [But will that STOP BARRY? He unilaterally puts out “regulations” and this will give him an excuse.]
“We always have the sovereign right to implement as we need to, but we live in a global environment, so we want to make sure we’re influencing effectively so that we have a good global outcome here,” Kramer said.
Kramer said it was too early to tell how the conference as a whole would vote.
Internet law experts say that even if the U.N. were to vote to regulate the Internet, it may have trouble doing so due to the decentralized nature of the web.
“The funny thing about the Internet is that the U.N. can say ‘we are now running the Internet’ and they can promulgate rules — but they have to be implemented across the web. Software would have to be changed … Internet service providers would have to change,” Temple Law Prof. David Post told FoxNews.com.”

We already have a censorship of sorts that is used by the MSM to not report facts or information. It also happens with Google, who scrubs anything that might reveal who the real guy is that sits at the WH. The White House decides who is privy to their release of information and FOX is not included. The communists and dictators want to suppress information for a reason – control. We watch Barry and the Left trying to rid us of conservative news via FOX or Rush or Glenn Beck, or trying to enact the Fair Use Internet Doctrine. This would help give them license to do so as though we are to be ruled by the tyrant filled and ideologically unbalanced UN.
Are they still holding the Coptic dude that made the “dispicable” video? Guess they were going to use him as the UN’s poster child for action to control the internet. But, hey he may still be in jail. So exactly when did the UN have legal authority to pass anything that binds us? No one at the UN is voted in by us> and legally has no standing. I guess everyone’s imagination has finally solidified the false narrative that the UN is a legal lawmaking body.
The Coptic guy went to jail for a year for “unrelated” charges…violating his parole, for one. I suspect he was a political prisoner first.
I think Panetta was the first to say that the UN trumps Congress when making a decision and getting approval for a war. He said that all he or the administration needs is the UN approval. He was spreading that idea. IIRC, Senator Sessions expressed his total outrage at the idea. I think Panetta said that is what they did to start the war in Libya too. I don’t remember if this was before or after someone started impeachment proceedings against Obama for going into Libya without Congressional Approval – read that Obama was to get Congress’s approval not the U.N’s. He ignored the constitution and Congress regarding war powers. I guess that impeachment didn’t go anywhere. That short, outspoken Democrat – Dennis Kucinich (sp?)- also was ready to impeach Obama.

John Boehner raised that issue Wednesday in a formal letter to the president. He said in part:
I respect your authority as Commander-in-Chief and support our troops as they carry out their mission.
But I and many other members of the House of Representatives are troubled that U.S. military resources were committed to war without clearly defining for the American people, the Congress and our troops what the mission in Libya is and what America’s role is in achieving that mission.
In fact, the limited, sometimes contradictory, case made to the….
…American people by members of your administration has left some fundamental questions about our engagement unanswered. At the same time, by contrast, it appears your administration has consulted extensively on these same matters with foreign entities such as the United Nations and the Arab League.
But it’s something else when President Obama’s own vice president, Joe “I Don’t Use Words Lightly” Biden suggests that a president who commits U.S. troops with no imminent threat to the country or its citizens and no congressional approval should be impeached.

Amazing how a reelection can reshape an incumbent’s thinking about many things. Now safely ensconced in the White House for 49 more months, the Obamas have decorated the place with 54 Christmas trees this year. Even allowing for the usual Washington excesses with taxpayer money, that’s a whole grove of Christmas trees. “We have 54 trees in the White House,” an excited Michelle Obama proudly told visitors the other day. “54! That’s a lot of trees.”
In fact, the Obamas’ 54 trees this year are almost 50% more Christmas trees than last year. That was during the campaign before Obama whispered a reminder to the Russians that he had to be careful until Nov. 6, when a victory would give him more “flexibility.”

In addition to 54 Christmas trees, Michelle Obama has overseen the placement of thousands of ornaments in public rooms. Many of the ornaments celebrate the Obama family dog, Bo, who seems to have become the First Family’s favorite symbol of Christmas. Other decorations, including on the more prominent trees, were made by children in schools on U.S. military bases. [ Favorite symbol is BO? How Christian of them. Bo certainly represents Christmas in WHAT NEIGHBORHOOD OR COUNTRY? What no mention of Mao?]
There’s several hundred yards of garlands and wreaths all over the hallways and rooms. And, of course, a traditional gingerbread house that has working chandeliers and weighs about 300 pounds. [Of course.]
Last year, according to Mrs. Obama, some 90,000 visitors viewed her White House decorations. The irony is this year the main residents of the White House won’t be there for most of the holiday period and for both major holidays. [Irony? This is irony? The king and queen will be in Hawaii on vacation, but don’t you worry BHO will be thinking about jobs for Americans 24/7 – that is seconds per day.]

The other day, I was treated, on multiple “news” channels, to the adorable video of Bo the dog taking us on a video tour of the Christmas decor in the WH. Did you happen to see that? Orders went out to the JournOlist, no doubt. All the anchorpersons predictably ooh’d and aah’d. I don’t seem to recall them doing the same when Barney took us around the Bush WH via the Barney-cam. They never have an original idea, do they?
Check out that dress Mooch is wearing in the photo at that link. My Barbie doll wore one just like it, only it was red. How fashion forward the Mooch is!
I was listening with only half my brain to Rush Limbaugh, but it seems to me that he believes that Barry does want us over the cliff. He wants taxes to go up on all Americans so that he can rush in and play the hero when he “leads” to reform of tax rates and again lowers rates for the middle class (of course, all the Obamacare taxes are coming, too). He probably hates that the current rates that will rise BACK to the Clinton level are called the “BUSH tax cuts”. I love how they call extending the current rates for everyone a “tax cut for the wealthy”. Therefore, wouldn’t it be a tax cut for everyone, including the middle class? I can’t figure out how the Republicans can outfox Barry. They allowed themselves to get backed into this corner. What they should do is pass the bill they want to pass and send it to Barry’s Senate and his desk. Put the ball back in the demoncRAT court.
Psssst. Under one of those 54 trees is an IOU for each of you from your prez for those 100,000 jobs for math and science teachers. He promised, remember?
Unfortunately, this jolly Communist Santa can’t give you those jobs because he doesn’t do the hiring! That is why there is just a note. “IOU, and thanks for voting for me. Merry Bo Holiday to you. Signed Santa Obama.” He added a lump of coal to top it off. He is such a jolly, jolly man as he hops on Air Force One to spend 17 lavish days in tropical Hawaii on plenty of your dimes, nickels, quarters, and mostly million dollars.
Now take your lumps as the economy goes into a downward spiral and the unions take more of your money, and another few million go on the government dole. Ruff, Ruff.

I have never heard of any of these three conservatives mentioned in Miri’s Post above – why weren’t they making more noise? Now they are removed from the BUDGET Committee? They were most likely the ones putting their feet to the floor to stop the draining of our resources! Are they all freshman without voices for the public? Yet they were holding up compromises? Stopping negotiations by sticking to their fiscal guns? That is what conservatives are supposed to do – Stop the Overspending and try to bring sense to those that can’t control themselves with other people’s money. Were they TEA Party members? Huelskamp, Amash, Schweikert are conservatives but haven’t used their media muscles?

A spokesman for Schweikert said he was told specifically that he had too frequently voted “against the team.”

Wise advice, deerknocker. I think local participation is indeed our only avenue of political change and I’m attending just such a meeting in a week and a half. However, I think the point of some of these commenters is that a sudden (or relatively sudden) economic collapse could and would necessitate federal attempts to “never let a crisis go to waste” and employ draconian measures under the guise of keeping the peace, protecting the populace etc., etc., etc.
Speaking for me, I’d MUCH prefer attending and influencing a local school board meeting, or local Republican meeting, or local Tea Party meeting, than trading 5.65 NATO rounds with some donut eating Barney Fife who couldn’t spell Constitution if you spotted him all the vowels and a couple of cononants.

CNSNews.com reported in July that an ICE internal e-mail obtained by the legal watchdog Judicial Watch had confirmed that ICE had granted Obama a stay of deportation “to seek reopening of his deportation proceedings.”
The e-mail, sent by Hale to ICE Director John Morton on April 1, revealed that ICE had no immediate plans to deport Obama, in spite of a previous ICE order that granted Obama a stay of deportation until June 5, 2012.
“Mr. Onyango is subject to a final order of deportation. ICE had granted him a stay of deportation effective until June 5, 2012,” the e-mail reads.
“The stay was granted to allow him to attend pending criminal proceedings and to seek reopening of his deportation proceedings, which concluded before the Board of Immigration Appeals on January 29, 1992.””
So, the way I read this, contrary to what Barry claims, Omar IS getting special treatment. First, it’s nearly impossible to get a new hearing, especially if you’re a criminal; and second, he was supposed to already be GONE last JUNE!

“Several organizations that represent police and prosecutors all over the United States are lobbying Congress to change federal privacy laws.
Part of the changes would be a requirement that cell phone providers would have to keep text messages for two years in case the information is needed in a criminal investigation.
According to a report in Wired magazine, AT&T and T-Mobile discard messages immediately. Verizon keeps them for five days and Sprint keeps them for 12.
Robert Sciliano, a Boston-based online security expert for McAfee said privacy is one issue and cost is another.”
I hope this wakes people up. We’ve talked about this for quite a while now. For TWO YEARS they want to FORCE companies to save your private text messages, just in case they might want to read them without a warrant! TWO YEARS.
Imagine if a Republican president or Congress tried to FORCE telephone companies to RECORD AND STORE every one of your phone conversations, just in case they might want to listen to them sometime!
Where is it written that they can FORCE companies to spend all this money to store all this data just in case they want to spy on you? This certainly seems unconstitutional on many levels. It’s seemes like a violation of our fundamental rights. To privacy. From unreasonable search and seizure. From self-incrimination, even.
Just because there’s a middle man, does that mean we have no expectation of privacy and no control over our “speech” in the form of text messages? Even if you delete them from your phone, you have no option to delete them from the servers where these companies, unbeknownst to us, are possibly saving them? Why do any of these companies store them even for days?
To whom does our speech belong? It’s written, so why isn’t there copyright on it?
If the company doesn’t ordinarily store this data, then where does the government get off forcing them TO collect and store it? This could be extended ad infinitum.
What about elevators? Can they force building managers to record and store conversations that take place in elevators, in case the government might want to listen in?
How about those cameras in elevators? Can they force them to store video for two years?
How about taxicabs? Can they force cab companies to record conversations and store them for two years?
Just because it’s possible, doesn’t make it right. I suppose this is one part of the law that Leahy is trying to pass.

The JournOlist finds another way to condemn FOX News: Accusing Ailes of conspiring to make Petraeus president. The thing is, I still believe that their FEAR of him running caused them to turn up that affair, via opposition research. Because they RECORDED this interview and put it out there now, I think even more that there’s some truth to my theory.
“I realize conspiracy theorists have used this off-the-record interview to claim it was some plot to put Petraeus in the Oval Office. But it was little more than one defense analyst (me) trading some political gossip and laughs with one of the country’s most important military leaders (Petraeus).
Perhaps those same conspiracy theorists should ask themselves some different questions: Why was an audiotape created of what was supposed to be an off-the-record interview with just four people in the room, which General Petraeus himself said several times was off the record? I certainly saw no recording device, nor did I give my permission for the interview to be taped. So who taped the interview? Why did they keep it hidden away for the past 18 months? Why was it released at this time to a Washington Post reporter? That is surely more interesting than two people, neither of them politicians, joking around about the presidential campaign. Indeed, this is why they call it the silly season.”
This isn’t the first time Eric Schmidt has been asked to be in his cabinet. He is on a couple committees already. He likes the money right where he is and the power he has at Google. Court hears challenge to Obama recess appointments

WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court heard arguments Wednesday in a case that considers whether President Barack Obama violated the Constitution earlier this year when he bypassed the Senate to fill vacancies in his administration.
Attorneys for Republicans and business groups told a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit that Obama abused his power in January when he appointed three members to the National Labor Relations Board.

The case is an important test of presidential power and could determine whether the Senate can indefinitely block presidential appointments by refusing to adjourn. Even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky came to watch the hearing in a packed courtroom. McConnell and 46 other Senate Republicans filed a friend-of-the-court brief arguing the appointments are invalid.

If Speaker Boehner wants to purge independent, bold conservatives—I think it’s time he gets fired as Speaker. Not only for the purge. He has failed to effectively win negotiations with President Obama and appointed moderate committee chairs. To the public, Boehner may appear radical but in reality he proposes milquetoast policies, like the tax-hikes he proposed this week.While the caucus has already voted in support of John Boehner as speaker of the 113th Congress, the final floor vote doesn’t happen until early January. Everyone thinks it’s a fairytale, but the Conservative Movement is capable of firing Boehner with just 16 votes. The House rules demand that a Speaker receive a majority—218 votes—to be elected speaker. If no nominee for speaker receives 218, the House remains speakerless—as it did during parts of the Civil War. If 16 House Republicans were to abstain from voting for Speaker, Boehner would only receive 217 votes.

Republicans and conservatives deserve a more articulate, more conservative leader. In fact, we need one if we want to keep the House majority and take the Senate. Boehner has been Obama’s punching bag and has lost every public battle with the President. Now, he’s waging an internal war on conservatives.

Things are getting nasty for the GOP in Congress. The GOP leadership fired conservatives from key committees, and now people want Boehner fired as Speaker. People in Congress who work with him know what he is doing, and how well. We only see snippets of him. But has he held the line on anything against the Democrats, or are they just killing him with their tricks? The TEA Party people aren’t happy that men were removed from key positions on different important committees, and I haven’t often seen this occur. We will see if their is a shift in attitudes of other GOP members soon. The ins and outs of who is on what committees is a normal process after an election, I think.
I suspect the last little meeting Boener had with Dear Little-Man Leader, the Speaker was “urged” to replace those committee members.
I think that the GOP has a short memory as to who won them the 2010 election. From the news I’ve read and all of the blaming for the 2012 election loss, they needed some group to be their scapegoat, so they are going to go after the TEA Party. I always thought it peculiar when I saw people on TV purporting to be TEA Party leaders from the grassroots and wondered, who elected them to speak for the millions? They are stupid to dismiss the TEA Party IMHO.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) sought to amend the $630 Billion Defense Billto stop the Veterans Affairs Department from putting the names of veterans deemed too mentally incompetent to handle their finances into the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, which prohibits them from buying or owning firearms.
Sen. Charles Schumer, (D-NY) objected, saying the measure would make it easier for veterans with mental illness to own a gun, endangering themselves and others. “I love our veterans, I vote for them all the time. They defend us,” Schumer said. “If you are a veteran or not and you have been judged to be mentally infirm, you should not have a gun.”
This bill will likely pass according to the announcer. Coburn won’t hold up the defense bill, but will write legislation about it later.
Warning to all Vets – Buy your guns now because the demoncRats are coming after your right to bear arms. They can say you are mentally incompetent and put your name into a data base that won’t allow you to own one or buy one.
This is what they always try to do, remove the guns from the populace. Who are they most afraid of? Vets who aren’t afraid to fight and defend freedom.
Can you see them adding all Military men and women to the list in the future? Harmless as it sounds on the surface, it will be like getting on the terrorist watch list for the airlines, and finding it impossible to get off if you have the same name as a suspect. They aren’t criminals!
Has anyone heard how many vets with guns cause major problems in the U.S.? Are their numbers to back up what the Democrats want to do? How many people are deemed incompetent by the government now? How many expected in the future? Whose bill is this and why is it needed if only two or three men are affected? How do they get their names removed? Who will determine if they can’t handle their financial affairs because they can’t do math or their wife does the finances? What is the criteria they are using to make a determination? Isn’t there already a law on the books about anyone that suffers from limited capacity getting a gun? Why are vets being singled out?
With the number of vets being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, this is a real danger to their constitutional rights. This could, in effect, disarm most of those who returned from the Mid-East because they have concussive head injuries, stress disorders, and other conditions they might call “mental illness.”
The vets do not even have to be individually diagnosed as mentally unstable. Just takes a ‘study’ showing all come back with trauma that is a danger to society and to themselves. Next, after the vets, will be the unemployed, the business owner who had to close business/went under, the person going through a divorce, etc., Any life-challenge can be deemed medically harmful and thus, can not have gun. Then it will be those displaying ‘out of control’ behavior as in protesting or shouting things like, “You lie” at a public official. Yep, means one is unplugged to display such behavior. As we become aware of the changing times, we then become very quiet; almost silent. Who wouldn’t for fear of being offered a nice closet full of straight jackets and fashion ‘patches’ of meds?

The seniors are residents of the complex, not just their apartment. They have stake ownership, month-by-month, in the community room each time they pay the rent. They property is theirs, by rental contract and as majority stakeholders/shareholders/co-owners of the community room they can put up their tree. The ‘landlord’ may hire someone to run the community room but that person is really an employee of the residents who have bought and paid for ownership of it. At least, that is the spin I would throw at the landlord.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration secretly gave its blessing to arms shipments to Libyan rebels from Qatar last year, but American officials later grew alarmed as evidence grew that Qatar was turning some of the weapons over to Islamic militants, according to United States officials and foreign diplomats. [I see, they are blaming Qatar for weapons getting into militant’s hands.]
No evidence has emerged linking the weapons provided by the Qataris during the uprising against Col. [If there was evidence, the NY Times wouldn’t report it because it involves Obama and the treasonous act of arming terrorists.]

The demographics as explained are very interesting.
One way of looking at this is as the fruition of the socialist dream:with Obama’s money mostly coming from the very rich and his supposed mandate to raise taxes on the middle and working classes coming mainly from those dependent on government support, what we’re seeing is arguably the kind of forced socio-economic leveling Robin Hood’s fans have always dreamt of.
Another, perhaps somewhat more obvious way of looking at this is to say the GOP represents the American taxpayer and thus has a very clear mandate not only not to compromise with Obama, but also to fight him every step of the way.
But it’s not coming only from “the very rich”. As Mitt pointed out time and again, it’s small business owners who will be the most affected.
It started happening a couple years ago, and will only get worse for small businesses. I see lots of businesses closed in strip malls, and for lease signs everywhere. Those were small business owners who have taken the hit because of the rotten economy. Small towns will be hit even harder. Even if they close their businesses they have to pay taxes, or pay for the lease if they closed prior to its end, then there is that loan they took out to start their operation. Those don’t end just because they closed their doors.

I am surprised that Coburn goes along with this idea since he is a deficit hawk and was part of the Simpson Bowles Commission. Yet he does say it must be

Snowe announced she was retiring, so she will be gone shortly. I just remembered hearing on a radio program yesterday that the deduction for home ownership that everyone uses is now considered a “loop hole.” Home owners should be prepared for that loophole to be closed and more taxes to be paid to this Marxist government. Of course, this won’t affect most of Obama’s constituents who don’t pay taxes anyway. But those that do aren’t going to be pleased with the person they elected. Vote and learn the consequences.
They’ll close the mortgage deduction “loophole” for the homeowners who actually pay their mortgages and meet their obligations, and they will use the money to “invest” in the deadbeat home “owners” who are behind on their bills, being foreclosed on because they bought houses they could NEVER afford with loans they could NEVER pay back because Barney Frank ordered banks to give them loans or else. Just after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, the Senate did it again. By a vote of 98-0 (two senators abstained) lawmakers in the upper chamber approved the Fiscal Year 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Not a single senator objected to the passage once again of a law that purports to permit the president, supported by nothing more substantial than his own belief that the suspect poses a threat to national security, to deploy the U.S. military to arrest an American living in America.
As The New American reported, an amendment to the 2013 version of the defense spending bill passed by the Senate clarified the right to trial of “citizens and permanent legal residents” detained under the relevant sections of the revamped measure.
The amendment, known as the Feinstein-Lee Amendment, was cosponsored by Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), and Rand Paul (R-Ky.). In an interview Tuesday with The New American, spokesmen for Lee and Paul admitted that the amendment did not go far enough in the defense of due process, but said it was a step in the right direction.
“Colored by our experience with the due process amendment to the NDAA we offered in 2012, we knew that we would have nowhere near the number of votes needed to pass an amendment that guaranteed due process for all persons detained under the NDAA,” explained Doug Stafford, chief of staff for Rand Paul.
Stafford and Rob Porter, general counsel for the office of Senator Lee, reiterated that they recognize that the Feinstein-Lee Amendment was not the ideal attack on the indefinite detention provisions of the NDAA. Senators Lee and Paul believe, the spokesmen assured The New American, that “the full panoply of due process rights should apply to all persons, not just American citizens.”
For now, however, the NDAA 2013 is almost law, and the president’s power to send troops to arrest Americans living in America remains intact and unabridged. That is rightfully terrifying to constitutionalists, journalists, and any other American who fears being kidnapped by the military and indefinitely detained.

Yes, the Feinstein-Lee Amendment explicitly guarantees the right of a trial by jury to American citizens, but it also explicitly authorizes the president to indefinitely detain them, a substantial step beyond even last year’s NDAA and the Authority for the Use of Military Force (AUMF), upon which it builds.
Despite this despicable extension of despotic powers so unconscionable and unconstitutional, The Hill reported after the Tuesday’s vote that this year’s NDAA passed so overwhelmingly because of the “the lack of controversial issues this year.”

UN Summit: Transforming Your Kids into “Climate Change Agents”
Do your children (or grandchildren) have nightmares about the Earth melting or exploding due to human-caused global warming? Do they believe they have no future because our planet is dying, the icecaps and glaciers are melting, the sea levels are rising, islands and coastal areas are disappearing, polar bears and children are drowning, plant and animal species are rapidly going extinct, and extreme weather will soon make human life unbearable, if not impossible?
Frightening, not Enlightening – Fear of an impending Climate Apocalypse apparently afflicts millions of children and adolescents worldwide, according to news stories in the mainstream media over the past few years. Psychologists, psychiatrists, teachers, and parents report that many children are depressed and fearful, have difficulty sleeping, and believe it is pointless to study or plan a career, since there is little hope for a livable future. As a result, many are experiencing serious psychological and physical health issues. This should not surprise anyone, considering that hundreds of millions of students have been captive audiences for Al Gore’s “documentary,” An Inconvenient Truth.

They’ve been deliberately scaring kids with these lies for decades, at least since the 70s (when back then they were scaring them with the “big freeze”). This is what DemoncRATS and leftists do–scare people. Like they scare old people into thinking that they’ll have to eat dog food and go without health care or be evicted from their homes. They don’t care what psychological damage they do. They deliberately set out to psychologically damage and traumatize others. It’s how they obtain power. In a similar vein, they try to teach us, their disloyal opposition, learned helplessness. Their Alinsky tactics are designed to wear us down, to demoralize us, to make us give up as if we have no power. Look at what’s happening in Egypt and think about the POWER that those demonstrators have. Will Morsi survive this? Time will tell. What can he do? Turn his weapons on his people? He’s already seen Gaddafi deposed and now they’re working on Assad, on the justification that they had to go because they turned weapons on their own people. By the same token …
Speaking of Assad, does anybody else see the ironic parallel here? Where are these WMDs that Hillary and the world community plan to use as the excuse to go into Syria and depose Assad? Isn’t it funny that we read speculation last week about a planned black flag operation to use chemical weapons and PIN IT ON ASSAD?
Isn’t this taking you on a flashback to when Saddam was planning to use WMDs on his own people? Oh, wait! He DID use them and the world community and the DemoncRATS said, “Ho hum.” Plame and Wilson said, “He had no WMDs.” The UN and the leftists and the media said, “Bush lied and people died” and “This is an illegal invasion and occupation of a sovereign country.” How times have changed.
