 Middle East Crisis

Hillary Clinton Sent to Israel

Surprisingly, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton left Cambodia and flew  to Jerusalem, Israel today to meet  separately with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,  Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi Isa El-Ayyat in Cairo.   The leaders are meeting to attempt to bring about a diplomatic solution to this crisis and a cease fire between Israel and the Palestinians.

I said surprisingly because I don’t believe Hillary has been involved in any Middle East talks before.  According to Wiki,  “Obama appointed several Special Envoys including a Special Envoy for Middle East peace (George Mitchell) and a Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan (Richard C. Holbrooke).”  Holbrooke died unexpectedly in 2010 and Mitchell resigned in 2011.   Marc Grossman succeeded Holbrook,  and Mitchell was succeeded by  David Hale.  Perhaps these men are also involved, but there is no mention of them.

Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, has declared his support for the terrorist group Hamas so that meeting should be interesting.  Will Hillary give Egypt an ultimatum, i.e.,  stopping foreign aid to that country if they don’t support Israel’s right to exist?  In September, the Obama administration told Congress that it was  sending Egypt $450 million which was a portion of the $1 billion that Obama pledged to them as a new administration.  This was taking place at the same time protests erupted in Cairo, and Morsi did little to stop them.  His allegiance is  still with the  Muslim Brotherhood  and the U.S. is supporting that country.  Does that make any sense?

It is assumed that Hillary’s sidekick, Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Weiner, is traveling with her.  Huma has connections to the Brotherhood through her mother and that relationship to a terrorist group still remains a major concern.   Huma’s mother,  Saleha Abedin, belongs to the Brotherhood’s Muslim Sisterhood.  The question remains whether Huma has infiltrated our government.  In July, Rep. Michelle Bachman and others stated their U.S. security concerns about policies being favorable to the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to CNN, three U.S. Warships are on their way to the Mediterranean area;  the USS Iwo Jima, the USS New York and the USS Gunston Hall.  The U.S. military also maintains three to four ships off the coast of Israel that are capable of shooting down ballistic missiles.

The New York Times reports that the Hamas leader, Khaled Meshal, believed that the “Israeli infantry mobilization on the border with Gaza was a bluff on the part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel.”  He dared Israel to invade Gaza.  As expected, Hamas blames the conflict on Israel instead of taking responsibility for firing rockets at Israel for months.  Israel finally said enough is enough and retaliated.

FOX reported that a security guard was wounded at the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel.  He was attacked by a Israeli man outside the embassy gates.   He was subdued and is in police custody. Reportedly the attack is not related to the Hamas conflict.  Security at the Embassy  was increased after the attack according to the news.   Wouldn’t you think after Benghazi that all of our embassies in the Middle East would have ramped up security before and not after an incident?

As this is being written, there are reports that Jerusalem has air raid sirens sounding.

This newest crisis brings into focus the deterioration and incompetence of the Obama administration’s foreign policy.   The weakness of our government has emboldened the terrorist  networks throughout the world.  Obama’s passive – aggressive stance toward Israel has encouraged the enemies of Israel who want her complete destruction and the annihilation of  the Jewish people.   Obama’s dropping of the term ” War on Terror”, boasting of killing Osama bin Laden as well as the lack of protection of  four Americans in Benghazi has energized the radical Muslim terrorists with their barbaric idea of  jihad.   The terrorists watch the U.S. response or lack of response and have responded accordingly.  Obama and his cohorts are entirely responsible for the increased rise of  radicals worldwide.     The words of the usurper are largely ignored by other countries and his power is waning worldwide.

This is the end of Hillary’s term as secretary of state.  It will be interesting to see if she is able to “reset” any buttons in the Middle East.   Thus far, there are no accomplishments for which she can  boast.

Israel is surrounded by enemies who don’t want her or her people to survive.  No other country would allow the rain of rockets or missiles to bombard them without taking action and nor should Israel.  We will continue to pray for Israel.   The fate of Israel has always been in God’s hands and thus far He is the winner.

  1. Israel Delays Ground Invasion by 48 Hours With Hope That Truce Can Be Reached
    Nov. 20 9:27 am ET

Israel is holding on a ground invasion of Gaza for 48 hours to see if an Egyptian-brokered truce can be worked out.

    • Another day, another truce that Israel will honor and their opponents will not.

      • If there is another ceasefire, it gives Hamas time to reorganize once again. I thought they said this time they were going to clean out the terrorists so they can’t rise again. Hamas is hiding their weapons in schools, homes, and hospitals knowing that Israel does specific targeting and doesn’t want to kill civilians. Israel sent out broadcasts to the people in Palestine to tell them if they are near Hamas hideouts, they may be killed. It was a warning.

Tanks are lined up on the border and firing at Gaza.

  2. 1,200 Rockets have been fired at Israel. Only 300 were close to population centers. The Iron Dome Missile Shield has protected them – approximately 90% were stopped. Hamas has tried to get around the shield by propelling multiple rockets at a time, and the system wasn’t designed to stop multiples sent in succession.

  3. Obama has had 3 chats with Morsi today. Wow, the guy made 3 calls. It is probably the end of his working day.

So Obama, is Egypt an ally now? Do you remember him saying earlier this year that he didn’t know if they were?

  4. 43% of Israelis Want Israel to Put an End to Hamas

According to a new survey published by Israel’s Dahaf Institute Institute, headed by Dr. Mina Tzemach, 43% of the public believes the best thing for Israel would be to overthrow the Hamas regime.

According to the survey, conducted Monday for Channel 99, the Knesset channel, 39% of the public believes that Israel must maintain talks to promote peace with Hamas.

After witnessing the hundreds of rockets shot down by the Iron Dome, 88% of Israelis believe more Iron Dome systems should be put into place, enough to cover the entire country.

  5. Netanyahu: Our Hand Grasps the Sword of David
Prime Minister invokes Israel’s greatest warrior king as psychological warfare reaches peak level.
    By Gil Ronen

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu invoked King David in a statement Tuesday evening – signaling that he is serious about ordering an intensification of the attack on the terrorists of Gaza.

“Our hand is outstretched in peace to those of our neighbors who want to make peace with us,” Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office, “and the other hand is firmly grasping the sword of David against those who wish to uproot us from this country.”

  6. I just watched an AP reporter, Matt, who went after the speaker from the State Department, Victoria Nuland, because the U.S. hasn’t come down on the prime minister of Turkey (a NATO partner) for fanning the war between Israel and Palestine. He was supporting Hamas and telling them to fight on. Yet our government is silent.

How totally unusual for an AP reporter to support Israel. I wonder if he will have a job later today. His questioning was what we “used” to hear.

    • VIDEO – AP Reporter Slams State Department For Silence On Israel
      Nov. 19

A spirited exchange between Associated Press reporter Matthew Lee and spokesperson Victoria Nuland marked the U.S. State Department’s daily briefing Monday on the continued violence between Israel and Hamas. Lee slammed Nuland for their silence on Israel in what the Administration has labeled “quiet diplomacy.” Lee concluded, “But you won’t stick up for your ally Israel when the Turks, another one of your allies, say that they’re engaged in terrorism in Gaza…” The exchange goes on for nearly three minutes, while Nuland is left defenseless against the charges of silence from the press pool.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Israel on Tuesday afternoon and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was expected later in the day. Both officials will meet met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.

More than 140 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israel on Tuesday. The Palestinians reported that five people were killed in the Strip on Tuesday morning, and put the total death toll in Gaza at 130, including 31 children. Five Israelis have been killed since the conflict began.

Hamas executes 6 suspected Israel collaborators
Masked gunmen publicly kill suspected of working with Israel, drag one through the street while screaming ‘Spy!’

    A P -| Nov.20, 2012 Snip

Masked gunmen publicly shot dead six suspected collaborators with Israel in a large Gaza City intersection Tuesday, witnesses said. An Associated Press reporter saw a large mob surrounding five of the bloodied corpses shortly after the killing. Hamas’ military wing claimed responsibility.

Some in the crowd stomped and spit on the bodies. A sixth corpse was tied to a motorcycle and dragged through the streets as people screamed, “Spy! Spy!”

The Hamas military wing, Izzedine al-Qassam, claimed responsibility in a large handwritten note attached to a nearby electricity pole. Hamas said the six were killed because they gave Israel information about fighters and rocket launching sites.
Israel relies on a network of local informers to identify its targets in Gaza.

  9. One has to wonder exactly WHAT Hillary is doing in the Middle East, GIVEN THAT HAMAS IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION AND THE USA CANNOT “NEGOTIATE” WITH TERRORISTS. I read that miraculously, the IMF is giving Egypt a “loan” of $4.8 BILLION. Interesting timing. So Morsi talks to Hill and Barry and HE talks to Hamas, who are allied with Morsi (as well as Hill’s “right hand woman” Huma Weiner) and instantly Morsi gets almost $5 billion! Funny out that works.–business.html

Oh, surprise, surprise. A cease fire. Who will break it first? ….. HAMAS! That’s my bet. Anyway, the cease fire takes effect within minutes and Hamas is barraging Israel with rockets while they can. However, Morsi can only control the Hamas “government” and he can’t do anything about those danged independent jihadist operators.

10.,0,3012113.story Yet another bad hair day for Hill.

“Israel will cease all military activity against the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip at 9 p.m. local time (11 a.m. PST) and Palestinian militants will cease rocket attacks into Israel. After 24 hours of quiet, Gaza’s border crossings with Israel will be opened further to allow freer movement of goods and people.

The announcement by Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton followed talks in Cairo between Clinton and Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.”

  11. IMF money AND U.S. aid. That explains much:

“‘‘Egypt, watch what you do and how you do it,’’ said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in an interview Sunday on NBC’s ‘‘Meet the Press.’’ ‘’You’re teetering with the Congress on having your aid cut off if you keep inciting violence between the Israelis and the Palestinians.’’”

  12. Timeline of Events -There is supposed to b e a ceasefire at 9 pm local time in Israel. Yet reading this, the firing of rockets and missiles was ramped up.

Ahead of ceasefire, Gaza terrorists pummel southern Israel with rockets, IAF carries out final airstrikes.
    Nov. 22

Obama commends Netanyahu for agreeing to the Egyptian ceasefire proposal: 4 soldiers injured in rocket attack; 21 injured in central Tel Aviv bus bombing, which is condemned by US, France, UN; police on trail of bomber; Clinton meets with Egyptian president; in south, one house hit by rockets twice.

The BBC has published what it says is a copy of the written ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel:

Understanding regarding ceasefire in Gaza Strip:

    1. a. Israel shall stop all hostilities on the Gaza Strip land, sea, and air, including incursions and targeting of individuals.
    b. All Palestinian factions shall stop all hostilities against Israel, including rocket attacks, and attacks along the border.
    c. Opening the crossings and facilitating the movement of people and transfer of goods, and refraining from restricting residents free movement, and targeting residents in border areas and procedures of implementation shall be dealt with after 24 hours from the start of the ceasefire.
    d. Other matters as maybe requested shall be addressed.

    2. Implementation Mechanism:

    a. Setting up of the zero hour for the ceasefire understanding to enter into effect.
    b. Egypt shall receive assurances from each party that the party commits to what was agreed upon.
    c. Each party shall commit itself not to perform any acts that would breach this understanding. in case of any observations, Egypt — as the sponsor of this understanding — shall be informed to follow up.

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has hailed the great victory of the Palestinian resistance movement against Israel, saying Zionists have reached the end of the line.

“Zionists have reached the end of the road and have no choice but to recognize and yield to the absolute right of the Palestinian nation,” Ahmadinejad said in a telephone conversation with democratically-elected Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh on Saturday.

Obama Slams Israel’s New West Bank Settlement Plans
    Saturday, 01 Dec 2012

New Israeli settlement plans are “counterproductive,” the State Department and White House said Friday, saying it would make negotiations with the Palestinians more difficult. “We reiterate our longstanding opposition to settlements and East Jerusalem construction and announcements,” White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland added, “We’re going to be evenhanded in our concern about any actions that are provocative, any actions that make it harder to get these two parties back to the table.”

Israel announced it is planning thousands of new homes on the West Bank and in East Jerusalem. Israeli media made it clear the announcement was meant to emphasize Israel rejection of Thursday’s United Nations decision to upgrade the Palestinians’ status in the world body, NBC News reports. An Israeli official told NBC that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had authorized the construction of 3,000 housing units and ordered “preliminary zoning and planning work for thousands” more.

    • Has he said anything yet about the new dictator of Egypt or their new constitution that makes women second class citizens, violates religious freedom, and enshrines Sharia law?

      • Nope, he’s silent:

” The Obama administration is declining to criticize Egypt’s draft constitution despite spirited internal debate over whether the document adequately protects women, religious minorities and dissenting voices.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland lamented the lack of consensus in Egypt’s constitution-writing process. She says how people in Egypt view the draft is most important.

If Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi approves the constitution, it goes to a national referendum.

Nuland’s restraint didn’t reflect the views of all in the administration.

U.S. officials said there were internal debates over whether to criticize the draft constitution for limiting freedom of expression, failing to grant freedom of worship, criminalizing blasphemy and eroding women’s rights guarantees.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly about internal deliberations.”

And Gateway Pundit reports that the new Egyptian constitution has REMOVED bans against SLAVERY. In fact, they “restored” it.

Omissions of certain articles, such as bans on slavery or promises to adhere to international rights treaties, were equally worrying to critics of the new draft, who pulled out from the panel before the vote.”

GP also reports on the sale, in Saudi Arabia, of a castrated BLACK male SLAVE. Advertised on Facebook! How modern.
