Hillary Clinton Sent to Israel

Surprisingly, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton left Cambodia and flew  to Jerusalem, Israel today to meet  separately with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,  Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi Isa El-Ayyat in Cairo.   The leaders are meeting to attempt to bring about a diplomatic solution to this crisis and a cease fire between Israel and the Palestinians.

I said surprisingly because I don’t believe Hillary has been involved in any Middle East talks before.  According to Wiki,  “Obama appointed several Special Envoys including a Special Envoy for Middle East peace (George Mitchell) and a Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan (Richard C. Holbrooke).”  Holbrooke died unexpectedly in 2010 and Mitchell resigned in 2011.   Marc Grossman succeeded Holbrook,  and Mitchell was succeeded by  David Hale.  Perhaps these men are also involved, but there is no mention of them.

Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, has declared his support for the terrorist group Hamas so that meeting should be interesting.  Will Hillary give Egypt an ultimatum, i.e.,  stopping foreign aid to that country if they don’t support Israel’s right to exist?  In September, the Obama administration told Congress that it was  sending Egypt $450 million which was a portion of the $1 billion that Obama pledged to them as a new administration.  This was taking place at the same time protests erupted in Cairo, and Morsi did little to stop them.  His allegiance is  still with the  Muslim Brotherhood  and the U.S. is supporting that country.  Does that make any sense?

It is assumed that Hillary’s sidekick, Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Weiner, is traveling with her.  Huma has connections to the Brotherhood through her mother and that relationship to a terrorist group still remains a major concern.   Huma’s mother,  Saleha Abedin, belongs to the Brotherhood’s Muslim Sisterhood.  The question remains whether Huma has infiltrated our government.  In July, Rep. Michelle Bachman and others stated their U.S. security concerns about policies being favorable to the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to CNN, three U.S. Warships are on their way to the Mediterranean area;  the USS Iwo Jima, the USS New York and the USS Gunston Hall.  The U.S. military also maintains three to four ships off the coast of Israel that are capable of shooting down ballistic missiles.

The New York Times reports that the Hamas leader, Khaled Meshal, believed that the “Israeli infantry mobilization on the border with Gaza was a bluff on the part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel.”  He dared Israel to invade Gaza.  As expected, Hamas blames the conflict on Israel instead of taking responsibility for firing rockets at Israel for months.  Israel finally said enough is enough and retaliated.

FOX reported that a security guard was wounded at the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel.  He was attacked by a Israeli man outside the embassy gates.   He was subdued and is in police custody. Reportedly the attack is not related to the Hamas conflict.  Security at the Embassy  was increased after the attack according to the news.   Wouldn’t you think after Benghazi that all of our embassies in the Middle East would have ramped up security before and not after an incident?

As this is being written, there are reports that Jerusalem has air raid sirens sounding.

This newest crisis brings into focus the deterioration and incompetence of the Obama administration’s foreign policy.   The weakness of our government has emboldened the terrorist  networks throughout the world.  Obama’s passive – aggressive stance toward Israel has encouraged the enemies of Israel who want her complete destruction and the annihilation of  the Jewish people.   Obama’s dropping of the term ” War on Terror”, boasting of killing Osama bin Laden as well as the lack of protection of  four Americans in Benghazi has energized the radical Muslim terrorists with their barbaric idea of  jihad.   The terrorists watch the U.S. response or lack of response and have responded accordingly.  Obama and his cohorts are entirely responsible for the increased rise of  radicals worldwide.     The words of the usurper are largely ignored by other countries and his power is waning worldwide.

This is the end of Hillary’s term as secretary of state.  It will be interesting to see if she is able to “reset” any buttons in the Middle East.   Thus far, there are no accomplishments for which she can  boast.

Israel is surrounded by enemies who don’t want her or her people to survive.  No other country would allow the rain of rockets or missiles to bombard them without taking action and nor should Israel.  We will continue to pray for Israel.   The fate of Israel has always been in God’s hands and thus far He is the winner.
