Week Two of the High Tech Lynching of Cain: The Left Doubles Down (Open Thread)

The progressive left is outraged that their high-tech lynching of Herman Cain has not yet accomplished its goal.  This morning, I heard a radio talk show host say that the Cain story is falling like “a lead balloon.”  Not so fast, Jamie Allman! Never count out enraged progressives.  They’re doubling down.

Today, we will be treated to a new accusation by a new accuser (let’s hope this one is IDENTIFIED).  This accuser will be represented at a press conference by none other than “celebrity attorney” Gloria Allred.

Calling out the big dogs now.  And these dogs will worry that bone until it breaks.  Doubling down.

Gloria Allred has been described as a “feminist crusader”.  Allred also interjected herself into the Anthony Weiner affair.   Some say her goal is simply to make money. But fellow blogger, jbjd, has written extensively about Allred’s shenanigans on behalf of the progressive left; e.g., in this story about the help that Allred gave to Jerry Brown in his campaign against Meg Whitman in CA.  Be sure to read in the same story about the role that Allred  played during the 2008 DNC Services Corporation Presidential Nominating Convention, which ended with Hillary Clinton being thrown under the bus in favor of the selected one, Barack Obama, an outcome that jbjd described as “a coup.” 

Although NBC says they have not “confirmed the [new] allegations,” that didn’t stop them from splashing the promised smear all over the front page of their website. 

In the same vein, it’s reported that Politico, last week, ran 94 stories (as of the time of the report) about these ANONYMOUS, NONSPECIFIC allegations against Cain.  How many stories has Politico run about the very SPECIFIC allegations that Mr. Larry Sinclair made against Barack Obama during the campaign of 2008?  Allegations of cocaine use and gay sex.  I don’t recall that story percolating to the top of the lamestream media mudpot.

Last week, we were subject to the irony of lamestream media personalities excoriating Herman Cain for allegedly offending anonymous women via sexual innuendo, when these same “journalists” fiercely defended Bill Clinton, who was publicly accused by Ms. Paula Jones, to whom Clinton eventually (and publicly) paid an enormous settlement for very clear and specific allegations of sexual harassment. The same Bill Clinton who had a sexual relationship in the Oval Office with an intern over thirty years his junior, which led to his impeachment, during which the lamestream media fervently defended him.

In their anger that their orchestrated ploy to bring down Cain’s candidacy didn’t work, the lamestream lashed out in anger, in an angry red tantrum of blatant racism against the black conservative.  The newest charge against Cain? He’s starring in a “minstrel show.”   Or he’s a minstrel because he’s also a gospel singer:

Painting Cain as the latest high-profile victim of white liberals who abhor black conservatives won’t lessen the significance of the sexual-harassment charges. Nor will his breaking into song Tuesday at a National Press Club news conference — which seemed more minstrel than presidential — make the charges go away.

So they’re resurrecting a RACIST meme that began when Cain first came onto the scene.  But they do so cleverly. They either have a black “contributor” make the charge, as in the two examples above, or, if the writer is white, he or she simply “reports” (dredges up) old charges of “minstrelsy” originally made by a black person.  One “sometime respectable Negro” dredged up his own old charge of minstrelsy against Cain. Here’s another from a “black bourgeoisie perspective.”  Somehow, I doubt these persons are truly bourgeoisie.  If so, they’d be supporting the proud, successful, capitalist Cain, who poses an existential threat to the progressive left, who believe that all blacks should forever vote in lockstep with and for them.
