The demonization of the Tea Party, the race baiting, the “mobilization” for the American Spring (and Fall) continues apace. Andre Carson, the SECOND Muslim member of Congress and member of the “exclusive” and, imho, racist Congressional BLACK Caucus, speaking to a mostly black audience in Miami said,
“… some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me … hanging on a tree.” Carson also said the tea party is stopping change in Congress, likening it to “the effort that we’re seeing of Jim Crow.””

Upon being criticized, Carson’s spokesperson doubled down:
“The Tea Party is protecting its millionaire and oil company friends while gutting critical services that they know protect the livelihood of African-Americans, as well as Latinos and other disadvantaged minorities,” Tomcsi wrote. “We are talking about child nutrition, job creation, job training, housing assistance, and Head Start, and that is just the beginning. A child without basic nutrition, secure housing, and quality education has no real chance at a meaningful and productive life.”
MSNBC’s Tamron Hall was sitting right there at the table when these remarks were made on August 22.

Tamron Hall? Hmm. Not familiar with her. Let me guess … Black? Yup! So much for objectivity, although, to be fair, maybe in her mind there was nothing incendiary or unfair about Carson’s comments, so she didn’t think they were “newsworthy”. It’s a cultural thing, ya see. Relativity. Blindness might be another apt term. Or lack of freaking empathy or common sense.
They reported in today’s newspaper about the manufactured crisis over the schedule for Barry’s jopsssss speech. What was interesting was HOW the lamestream reported it! I was surprised and a little pleasantly astounded. Excerpts:

“Publicly inviting himself for a specific time and date was unusual, is not unprecedented. By comparison, the White House traditionally works behind the scenes with Congress to set the time and date …”
“…the White House didn’t notify the House speaker of its request before releasing the letter to the media.”
“Unfortunately, we weren’t even asked if that date worked for the House… We were simply informed that a letter was coming. It’s unfortunate that the White House ignored decades–if not centuries–of the protocol of working out a mutually agreeable date before making a public announcement.” (Said Brendan Buck, a spokesman for the House.)
All true and I’m flabbergasted that the media reported the truth! Now Barry’s ended up agreeing to addressing Congress the next day, when the NFL season kicks off in Green Bay, against New Orleans. That will endear him to football fans. Is FOX carrying that game?
I’d forgotten that this is the same guy that accused the Tea Party of using the N word when they walked by. Breitbart offered a reward to anyone that had a video of the incident. No one produced it..Carson lied. How unusual. Now there are calls for Carson’s resignation. Yes, he needs to be dismissed …except then we get to pay him for leaving…as in a pension. (That needs to be changed..pension for life, not hardly.) Look what he says to Alan West.
Carson gets heat for Tea Party remarks

It’s not the first time Carson has clashed with the Tea Party. He accused Tea Party members of using the N-word last year when he and other members of the Black Caucus passed on the way into the Capitol. The reference to lynchings, however, has prompted calls for an apology.
Carson stands behind his remarks. He is in Los Angeles this evening where he will take part in another Congressional Black Caucus town hall meeting tonight.
Rep. Carson reacted to calls for his resignation in a phone interview from Los Angeles where he’s taking part in another Congressional Black Caucus town hall tonight. He said, “I can’t apologize for speaking the truth, nor will I ever apologize for speaking the truth… I have a duty to speak boldly.”
Florida Republican Congressman Allen West has threatened to quit the Congressional Black Caucus over Carson’s remarks. Said Rep. Carson, “No one in the organization will miss him.”

These black caucus members are creating racial tension within the black communities and they need to resign. The nation doesn’t need this kind of rhetoric that accuses their opposition of wanting to lynch them. They are doing this on purpose. Who is feeding them their talking points? That is the question. These aren’t leaders or morale builders, they are cowards in a suit and act like the neighborhood thugs they probably represent. “They are disgusting, despicable and desperate” according to Herman Cain.

I was thinking about the government blocking that merger this morning. Is this payback to Google? Thinking along the lines of how Google is buying up or merging with other businesses, trying to venture into the phone/wireless internet area. I don’t follow the business news that closely, but read that some “competitors” opposed letting ATT merge with T-Mobile. So WHO are the competitors who complained? Follow the money. I read that if the merger is blocked, ATT will have to pay something like a $6 BILLION penalty to T-Mobile.

Bridgette expressed concern on the admin thread. I just wanted to check in with everyone publicly in response to my earlier comment. Yes, it’s really me and not spam. I am in business for myself and have several different business connections. One of those is a web-based (versus brick and mortar) provider of cell phones and cell plans via the major carriers. I’ve used this connection to save my family money on a cell phone for my 13-year-old and helped two different friends save a combined $400 as described above. I just wanted y’all to know about it, because if you are looking for a new phone, chances are I can save you money as long as you are either a new customer to that carrier or extending your contract. (I usually can’t save you money if you just need a replacement phone for one that was lost or damaged and are not renewing your contract).
We did fine through Hurricane Irene. We did get some wind and rain, but we were far from the eye of the storm. Sorry I haven’t been more active here recently. All is well with my wife and kids, but I would appreciate prayers for my parents’ spiritual, physical, emotional, and relationship health.

The debate issue is interesting because it’s supposed to be carried by NBC and MSNBC, sponsors of the debate, along with Politico (which recently asked if Rick Perry is dumb, so I’m convinced the moderator will be totally objective. NOT!) In any case, as things stand, NBC would HAVE TO NOT cover Barry’s big jopsssss speech, or not cover the debate they’re hosting.
Some suggest that Barry expects them to change the time of the debate, giving his speech as a lead-in to the debate. Of course, the NBC folks will then spend the entire debate asking the Republicans about Barry’s jopssss plan (which he’s probably stealing from Romney).

Angry Unions Sever Ties With Democrats, Obama

In a huge public blow to the electoral fortunes of both President Obama and the Democratic Party, the president of the AFL-CIO said Thursday that organized labor is preparing to ditch Democrats and go it alone in building up its own grassroots structure.
Specifically, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka told reporters that the nation’s largest labor federation will scale back their involvement with the Democratic Party in advance of the 2012 elections.
In 2008, unions spent over $400 million for Obama’s election. Asked if the AFL’s move is a huge blow to Obama, Democratic pollster Doug Schoen told Newsmax.TV: “Absolutely. Obama needs to get labor back and I think he’ll be courting them furiously in the weeks and months to come.”
While Trumka had nothing but scathing words for the tea party movement, he laid out a scenario that very much mirrored the tea party’s grassroots structure and its clout in the GOP.
Trumka made it clear that his plan will cost the Democrats both contributions and labor volunteers in many districts almost immediately. That would cripple key Democratic get-out-the-vote efforts in many swing districts on Election Day.

The White House is planning ahead for the 10th anniversary of the worst terror attack in U.S. History — the September 11, 2001 attacks in NYC, PA, and Washington, DC. Those attacks, of course, happened in the United States and were perpetrated by radical Muslim terrorists – but that’s not stopping the WH from urging officials to “minimize references to Al Qaeda” and calling for remembrance of all those killed across the globe. Huh? The White House has provided guidelines to government officials regarding how to observe and discuss the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. [They need guidelines from the WH? How about if the WH sticks it where the sun don’t shine? That is the guideline according to Bridgette!]

Laugh of the day! Wikileaks is complaining about their archives being “compromised” by people who have the password to their STOLEN records!
“Anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks said today that its massive archive of unredacted U.S. State Department cables had been exposed in a security breach it blamed on its one-time partner, Britain’s Guardian newspaper.
In a 1,600-word-long editorial posted to the Internet, WikiLeaks accused the Guardian’s investigative reporter David Leigh of divulging the password needed to decrypt the files in a book he and another Guardian journalist, Luke Harding, published earlier this year.
WikiLeaks said in its statement that Leigh had “recklessly, and without gaining our approval, knowingly disclosed the decryption passwords” in a nonfiction book about the organization published by the Guardian back in February. …
In its statement, WikiLeaks said that knowledge of the leaked password had been spreading privately for months, but that the organization was forced to come out with a statement today after news of the breach began spilling into the press.
In Washington, the State Department did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment.
U.S. officials have previously said WikiLeaks’ disclosures could have potentially serious consequences for informers, activists and others quoted in the cables.”

Although undocumented workers are not eligible for federal benefits, the report released Thursday by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration concludes that federal law is ambiguous on whether these workers qualify for a tax break based on earned income called the additional child tax credit.

It’s rare that President Obama doesn’t make some sort of statement on the one day each month that the jobs report comes out, but that’s what happened today.
But not helping the optics is Obama’s decision to leave for the weekend for Camp David. He was scheduled to leave at 10 a.m. and rescheduled for 12:30 p.m. after the report was released, giving a big enough window to prepare a statement if he wanted to make one.

Perfect Timing for the Duck! He isn’t quacking today about the Jobs Report. Nope. He is so tired from listening to hurricane information that he needs a rest. After all he didn’t get his full vacation days in…he had to leave a day early to flee the storm. Those FEMA reports were so tough to handle, that he needs another resbit. He’s off to his retreat! Feds sue biggest U.S. banks over risky mortgages

NEW YORK (AP) — In a sweeping move, the government on Friday sued 17 financial firms, including the largest U.S. banks, for selling Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac billions of dollars worth of mortgage-backed securities that turned toxic when the housing market collapsed.
Among the 17 targeted by the lawsuits were Bank of America Corp., Citigroup Inc., JP Morgan Chase & Co., Goldman Sachs.
The lawsuits were filed Friday by the Federal Housing Finance Agency which oversees Fannie and Freddie, the two agencies that buy mortgages loans and mortgage securities issued by the lenders.
The total price tag for the securities bought by Fannie and Freddie affected by the lawsuits: $196 billion.
The 17 institutions are Ally Financial Inc., formerly known GMAC LLC, Bank of America Corp., Barclays Bank PLC, Citigroup Inc., Countrywide Financial Corp., Credit Suisse Holdings Inc., Deutsche Bank AG, First Horizon National Corp., General Electric Co., Goldman Sachs & Co., HSBC North America Holdings Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Merrill Lynch & Co. and its unit First Franklin Financial Corp., Morgan Stanley, Nomura Holding America Inc., The Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC, and Societe Generale.

Heard a financial analyst say that Freddie and Fannie are as to blame. They forced the banks to make the loans, with the help of “activists” and not-for-profits and people like Jesse Jackson. But the most important point he made was that if the banks have to cough up huge settlements, it will take away money that they can no longer loan out, so it will negatively affect the economy. But here’s my guess: Barry wants the settlement to fund his “infrastructure bank” that will give loans to the HIS preferred peeps (read, minority contractors) who will then skim off a share before they use what’s left to build shoddy roads and bridges and other “infrastructure”. Part of his infrastructure includes giving Wi-Fi access to the entire country and then he’ll use our money to give IPADs, IPods, and laptops to “the poor”. Redistribution. Extortion. Third World country, here we come.
Border ‘Incursion’: Why Did Mexican Federal Police ‘Momentarily’ Cross Into U.S. Amid Gunfire?..

KTSM-TV: A national watchdog group says the Mexican Government incursion that happened just a few miles outside of El Paso could be a major security threat to the nation.
KVIA-TV: EL PASO, Texas — Border Patrol officials are investigating an incursion by Mexican federal police into the United State on Thursday morning.
U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Doug Mosier said armed officers with Mexico’s Secretaria de Seguridad Publica federal police were in the incursion, which took place in El Paso, near the Border Patrol’s Ysleta station.
The Mexican government, Border Patrol and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are investigating the incident. U.S. authorities responded to the incident.
An ABC-7 viewer contacted the station early Thursday, saying her son, husband and friends were hunting on the Rio Grande levy on the U.S. side when men on the Mexico side fired shots, narrowly missing them. She said more men on the Mexico side drove up with automatic weapons and into to U.S. side. She said the armed men fired weapons and stole hunters’ chairs and drove back into Mexico.

These incidents seem to be happening more and more often where Mexican officials are crossing the border. I read an article yesterday that says the group that supports La Raza expects to take back their land from the US within the next two years.
