Why am I not surprised one of the most anti-American networks in the world is loved by the Obama regime?
“They are a really important media entity, and we have a really great relationship with them,” said Dana Shell Smith, the State Department’s deputy assistant secretary for international media engagement, who speaks Arabic and has frequently appeared on the channel. “This administration has empowered those of us who actually do the communicating to be in a close relationship with Al-Jazeera. They understand that the relationship can’t consist of complaining to each other about the differences we have.”
“The emir of Qatar come by the Oval Office today, and he owns Al-Jazeera basically,” Obama said in remarks recorded by CBS News’s Mark Knoller. “Pretty influential guy. He is a big booster, big promoter of democracy all throughout the Middle East. Reform, reform, reform. You’re seeing it on Al-Jazeera.”

This would explain why I found a nasty article about Trump written by a US Progressive in the Al-Jazeera paper today. So a so called US journalist or whatever you want to call him is now getting paid to write for the anti-American Al-Jazeera while Obama makes nice with the boosters of terrorism.

Trump is a potential presidential candidate who has most recently hitched his hairpiece to Birtherism, or the slightly-less-clever-than-a-comb-over theory that President Obama only plays an American president on TV.

Internet Sales Tax to be Introduced in US Senate

WASHINGTON — Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) could propose sweeping legislation as soon as Monday to tax all online purchases, in a move aimed at closing states’ budget shortfalls.
Durbin’s bill, dubbed the Main Street Fairness Act, is being portrayed as an end to the tax holiday that online shoppers on major internet vendors have enjoyed for years.

Cuban Dissidents March Despite Castro’s Warning

NEWSCORE – Cuba’s highest-profile dissidents marched Sunday defying President Raul Castro’s warning, issued hours earlier, that foes of the communist regime were not welcome on Cuban streets. “Our fight has been and will continue to be achieving freedom for political prisoners,” said Laura Pollan, leader of the Ladies in White group of political prisoners’ kin, as the group took to Havana streets, AFP reported. Shariah project scrubbed from Internet, sought to ‘implement’ Muslim caliphate

JERUSALEM – Dalia Mogahed, appointed to President Obama’s faith advisory council, was a partner in an Islamic project whose stated goal was to “define, interpret and implement the concept of the Islamic State in modern times,” WND has learned.
The project was founded and directed by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the controversial Muslim cleric behind the proposed 13-story, $100 million Islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from Ground Zero in New York City.
Besides her role on the White House Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, Mogahed is also on the advisory council of the Department of Homeland Security. She testified before the Senate on engagement with the Muslim community. Together with Rauf, Mogahed was a leading voice in the Leadership Group on U.S.-Muslim Engagement, which issued a 153-page recommendation paper, obtained and reviewed by WND, that calls for dialogue with Hamas.
The consensus focused on improving America’s relationship with Muslims globally, with many of the recommendations later reportedly being adopted by the Obama administration. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Dennis Ross, Obama’s Mideast envoy, also served on the Leadership Group that released the recommendation paper.

The Tucson Sentinel reported:
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed a bill Monday that would have required presidential candidates to provide their birth certificates to appear on the ballot, and another that would have allowed guns to be carried on school grounds.
Brewer also vetoed a bill that would have directed the governor to set up an alliance with other states to regulate healthcare, in a challenge to the federal government.
HB 2177, the “birther” bill, “creates significant new problems while failing to do anything constructive for Arizona,” Brewer said.
Evidently, asking candidates to follow the Constitution is too much of a hassle for Governor Brewer.

I am stunned, totally stunned! Saying the bill was a distraction, and she said it with a straight face. She is writing a letter to the AZ legislature about her decision. That will be interesting to read. Did the Federal government threaten her by saying she (AZ) wouldn’t get federal funding for other projects? They already removed border patrol funding that was for only one year and they didn’t renew it.

The darkening economic cloud has sent President Barack Obama’s job performance ratings plummeting to just 47 percent — just 1 point higher than his lowest ever mark — according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
And his economic approval ratings are his worst since September, when he stood at 41 percent approval and 57 percent overall disapproval.
In the event that the White House didn’t receive the message, Wall Street drove the point home on Monday when benchmark rater Standard & Poor’s cut its long-term outlook on U.S. debt to a dismal negative rating, signaling a financial crisis if the Obama administration does not bring down the national debt.
Today’s poll shows that Americans agree with the S & P verdict. In a tie with his overall worst economic approval rating, 57 percent said they disapprove of how Obama is handling the economy, with 46 percent saying they strongly disapprove. Only 23 percent strongly approved.

Several hundred Muslims thronged the state Capitol on Tuesday in protest of legislation that they say takes aim at their religious beliefs, calling on the bill to be defeated. Muslims from across the state — many wearing traditional skullcaps and headscarves — packed a committee room and corridors to hear testimony on a bill that supporters say would help Tennessee stop terrorist plots but opponents believe singles out Muslims who adhere to Islamic law.
They urged lawmakers to withdraw the bill, or at least to delay it until it can be rewritten so that groups labeled as terrorist organizations can protest the designation before they are forced to shut down.
The first version of the bill, which was written by an Arizona organization critical of Islam, labeled Shariah “a legal-political-military doctrine and system” that requires its followers to support the overthrow of the United States government. Several Muslims who turned out Tuesday said that is a distortion.
“People have this idea that Shariah is just chopping people’s hands, but Shariah is a way of life for us,” said Arshia Shah, a lawyer originally from Britain who now lives in Sparta and came to the Capitol with her husband and two daughters. “It’s prayer. It’s how we deal with our spouses. And to tell people that they can’t practice this — that they’re doing something wrong — is a great concern.” The bill has since been amended to remove all references to Shariah and Islam.
The bill’s sponsors, House Speaker Pro Tempore Judd Matheny, R-Tullahoma, and state Sen. Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, say the bill gives Tennessee law enforcement agencies the ability to disrupt terrorist plots. Staff Sgt. Cynthia R. Taylor, 39, of Columbus, was one of five soldiers killed at Forward Operating Base Gamberi in Nangarhar province when an Afghan National Army soldier attacked them with multiple grenades, according to the Department of Defense.
Taylor, who died on Saturday, was assigned to the 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division based at Fort Campbell, Ky. Taylor joined the Army in 2003. The Iowa Republican reported:
A University of Iowa professor felt the need to reply to a blast email by the College Republicans on Monday morning. Ellen Lewin, a professor of Anthropology and Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies in the Department of Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies, sent a vulgar response to a College Republican email about the group’s, “Conservative Coming Out Week.”
The College Republican email, which was sent to the entire University of Iowa Community, had been approved by a number of university officials before being sent out.

The website reported that Tim Hetherington — who was nominated for an Oscar this year with co-director Sebastian Junger for “Restrepo,” a documentary about US troops in Afghanistan — was killed in Misrata along with fellow photojournalist Chris Hondros.

President Obama’s perpetual campaign cash-o-matic machine kicks into high gear again this week as the celebrity-in-chief heads to Hollywood for several high-priced fundraisers. But while the Democrats’ 2012 re-election team stuffs its hands into every liberal deep pocket in sight, questions about the Obama 2008 campaign finance operation still fester.
Last week, the laggard watchdogs at the Federal Election Commission announced an audit of the Obama 2008 campaign committee — which raised a record-setting $750 million. White House flacks are downplaying the probe as a “routine review.”
But there’s nothing routine about the nearly $3 million Obama has spent on legal expenses to address federal campaign finance irregularities and inquiries. Roll Call reports that Obama’s campaign legal fees have exceeded all other House and presidential campaign committees, including members of Congress under ethics investigations.
There’s nothing routine about the whopping $6 million that Team Obama has refunded to individual donors since Obama took office.
And there’s nothing routine about the 26 warning letters to Obama for America totaling “more than 1,500 pages of questions and data that outlined compliance concerns — including the longest one ever sent to a presidential candidate,” according to Roll Call.

The broad presumption in Washington is that Donald Trump’s quasi candidacy will be a disaster for Republicans.
Certainly the reality host with the cantilevered coiffure could cost Republicans the presidency in 2012 if he is serious about running. If Trump goes all-in, develops a core following in the Republican primaries and then runs a well-funded spoiler campaign as an independent in the general election it could make the difference in a swing state or two.
Or he could win. He said he would go for the Republican nomination, which he may get if the people really get to choose. He said if he doesn’t get it, he won’t run as an independent UNLESS he’s sure he can win because his main goal is to see Obama shown the door.
No independent has ever won the Presidency, not even President Teddy Roosevelt. Ron Perot did not win a single electoral vote.

A McClatchy-Marist poll released on Wednesday shows Mitt Romney in a statistical deadheat with President Barack Obama. Obama leads Romney, 46 percent to 45 percent.
Mike Huckabee was the second-most competitive Republican polled, trailing Obama 48 percent to 43 percent, also a large improvement from the January poll, in which Obama led 50 percent to 38 percent.
However, other potential Republican candidates do not fair as well. Despite Donald Trump’s recent media spotlight and self-generated presidential buzz, the real estate tycoon trails Obama 54 percent to 38 percent.
I don’t care about Romney because he’s the selected one–not the choice of the people. He’s little more than another RINO and I don’t even care if the Dems fear that he can beat Obama. Donald Trump will apparently be making a big political announcement on the May 22 season finale of Celebrity Apprentice. No, he won’t be saying whether or not he’ll be running for president, but instead he’ll supposedly be revealing the future date upon which he actually will announce whether he’s running for president. But let’s save everyone some time and get it over with now: He won’t be. He has never seriously considered a run for the White House. It was all a gigantic ratings stunt, a negotiating ploy to get NBC to cut a bigger paycheck when the time comes to sign up for another season of his suddenly popular again TV show. At least, that’s the only theory that makes any sense to us — and we’re not alone.

Inside the political vacuum, the headline story on Drudge was none other than Obama’s birth certificate. It’s the story that just won’t go away–and it won’t go away until Obama himself releases the long-form document. But with the coming release on May 17 of Jerome Corsi’s “Where’s the Birth Certificate”continued questions will either be answered or remain inconclusive. However, no matter what the media says about the issue, people are curious as Corsi’s book hit the Amazon charts hard and fast today.
While I won’t rehash all of the issues here, I will note, for the record, that the left started the birther issue (and continually attacked McCain) and Obama is also a McCain birther as he co-sponsored the Senate Resolution declaring McCain a natural born citizen–clearly understanding the difference between being a US citizen and being a natural born US citizen and its importance.
Now that that’s out of the way, I’ve been watching the brouhaha that Donald Trump is causing and he is not backing down–that’s obvious. But during these interviews, it makes me wonder why the MSM so aggressively attacks anyone who even dares come close to this issue–even now–after they seemingly put it to rest. Finally, has the MSM, out of its allegiance to the Democrat party, missed the biggest story in the history of this country? And one thing you can be assured, the left will dissect and fact check Corsi’s book until the pages fall out, but will they be able to defend their position on the record? What they do with the information in Corsi’s book will probably need an extra large bucket of popcorn with butter because dare I ask this: What if the Birthers are right?
