Those Pesky Birth Announcements and Open Thread

By Miri

BREAKING NEWS: Read carefully butterdezillion’s latest post, addressed to Bill O’Reilly. She found very interesting FACTS about the provenance of all versions of the supposed “contemporaneous” birth announcments posted on the Web. (Note to Mr. Leonard (I’m a racist toady) Pitts Jr.: we know the definition of the word contemporaneous, because we’ve used it in conjunction–in quotes, of course–with those announcements for nearly 2 years. So We the People don’t need a racist toady like you to school us on the English language. Click that link to his latest column if you don’t understand my reference.)

butterdezillion writes, “With new information emerging now, O’Reilly may be interested to learn that the announcement images that were posted online cannot be from the microfilms we were told they were from. This article documents that the stories we were told were a well-orchestrated lie, which raises serious questions about the microfilms O’Reilly says he has found, since those lies back in 2008 would not have been necessary if the microfilms O’Reilly relies on today had actually been in the libraries in 2008.”

Fitting that butterdezillion chose today, the day Barry announced that he wants to be reelected, to announce these cleverly discerned facts about those bogus “contemporaneous” birth announcements.

UPDATE:

By request, I’m “nutshelling” butterdezillion’s main points.  More detail will be in the comments, below, for those who are interested.  Then do go to butterdezillion’s to see her illustrations and her arguments that prove her contentions.  butterdezillion’s main points:

* The Lori Starfelt and Infidel Granny Honolulu Advertiser (HA) images came from the State Library, via email.

* koa at Free Republic and a commenter at Prius Chat both implied that their images from the Star-Bulletin (SB) came from the State Library, obtained by personally copying the image from the microfilm at the library.

* What Really Happened received both the HA and the SB images directly from the newspapers themselves via email (not from the library).

* Up until ladysforest obtained fresh images of the announcement from the State Library in Honolulu, ALL of the images on the Web from the HA were identical, despite that they were reported to have come from different films stored at different locations.

Up until ladysforest obtained fresh images of the announcement from the State Library in Honolulu, ALL of the images on the Web from the SB were identical, despite that they were reported to have come from different films stored at different locations.

This is an impossibility. They cannot logically be identical if they came from different films at different locations.  Films are subject to wear and tear and the damage would be DIFFERENT from film to film, location to location. In addition, the images were identically cropped, even though this would also logically seem impossible for different individuals to accomplish.  ladysforest’s image from the SB is a perfect example.  She has posted the entire page, not just a cropped image without a date and without the last 25 or so births that were announced that day, but for some (nefarious?) reason were cropped from the SB images first released on the Web.

  1. Navy Not Dismissing Sailor Found in Another’s Bunk

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The Navy has dropped dismissal proceedings against a South Carolina-based sailor who was charged with unprofessional conduct after he was found in the same bed with another male sailor, a spokesman said Friday.

The Navy no longer has a dismissal case against Petty Officer Stephen Jones, said spokesman Thomas Dougan, who wouldn’t discuss any details.
Jones had contested his discharge for dereliction of duty. His attorney Gary Myers and an advocacy group for gay service members have said the Navy wanted to get rid of him because he was suspected of being gay. However, Myers said last month, there was no proof and no admission of homosexuality or homosexual conduct.

Jones, of Pensacola, Fla., and another sailor fell asleep on his bunk while watching “The Vampire Diaries” on a computer in February, according to Navy documents provided last month by Myers. Jones was on top of the covers and the other sailor under the covers, Meyers said.

  2. On CNN’s State of the Union today, Trump claimed that Obama’s grandparents planted the announcement to obtain welfare benefits:

TRUMP: The grandparents put that [birth announcement] in [the newspaper] because obviously they want him to be a United States citizen because in those days, people were much more proud than they are today unfortunately for being a United States citizen.

So they wanted him to be a citizen of the United States, for that purpose, and also for hospitalization, for welfare, for this, for that, for all the other assets you get from being a United States citizen. So there are a lot of very smart people who say that is routinely done and that was done by his grandparents. […]

    • Well, Barry himself said his mother was a single mother who was on welfare/food stamps. Didn’t he?

      • And in her Soetoro divorce said she had two live-in housekeepers and was living in Hawaii. I don’t think she was living with her parents.

        • Maybe the food stamps were so she could feed the live-in housekeepers? They gotta eat, after all. 🙂

          • Years ago I was grocery shopping with a friend in Hawaii and noticed that almost everybody had food stamps. I was shocked.

I must have looked shocked too because my friend looked at me and said, “Well you know, Hawaii is very generous with their food stamps and almost everybody gets them. Food is very expensive here because most our food has to be shipped from the mainland.”

            • Hawaii must be very like Puerto Rico and other dependent societies that feel entitled. Puerto Rico was recently profiled in the Wall Street Journal.

Puerto Rico has emerged in recent years as one of the easiest places in the U.S. to get payments from the Social Security Disability Insurance program, created during the Eisenhower administration to help people who can’t work because of a health problem. In 2010, 63% of applicants there won approval, four percentage points higher than New Jersey and Wyoming, the most-generous U.S. states. In fact, nine of the top 10 U.S. zip codes for disabled workers receiving benefits can be found on Puerto Rico. The SSDI is set to soon become the first big federal benefit program to run out of cash—and one of the main reasons is U.S. states and territories have a large say in who qualifies for the federally funded program. Without changes, the Social Security retirement fund can survive intact through about 2040 and Medicare through 2029. The disability fund, however, will run dry in four to seven years without federal intervention, government auditors say. … ‘The mentality is that it’s “big, rich Uncle Sam’s money,”‘ said Ivan Gonzalez-Cancel, a prominent Democrat and cardiac surgeon in San Juan who is planning to run for governor in 2012 for the New Progressive Party. He said the system is rife with corruption, something local and federal officials deny. Unlike Medicare or the Social Security retirement fund, which provide benefits mostly based on age, SSDI decisions are based in large part on medical opinions, which can vary from doctor to doctor, state to state. Because someone else pays the bills, local officials have little incentive to keep the numbers low. The feds have tried to enforce consistency, but the process relies heavily on the judgment of doctors and administrative law judges who hear appeals.”

The Hawaiians don’t have to worry anymore about stares of shocked fellow shoppers–now most states issue debit cards so those on the dole look just like the people who actually work to pay for their own food. Do I sound heartless? Well, I’m sorry. I have nothing against helping those who need help through troubled times. What I object to is people who make a habit, generation after generation, of living off others and the political party that encourages that dependence in order to keep them in that condition so their votes can be bought with other people’s money. It’s outrageous, the fraud that’s taking place in Puerto Rico.

“Even though Puerto Rico’s population fell in the past 10 years, from 3.8 million people in 2000 to roughly 3.7 million today, the number of people on SSDI rose 25% from 2000 through 2009 to 188,298. The Social Security Administration sent roughly $163 million a month in SSDI benefits to Puerto Rico in 2009, the last available full-year data, accounting for 2% of the program’s total spending.”

What was designed as a stopgap program to help people through a temporary disability has become a way of life. And now we are treated to the ridiculousness of having infants on SSDI. Infants who remain on SSDI for their entire lives. What job is an infant disabled from doing? This is why Social Security is going bankrupt.

          • Wow ! Those islands are too expensive we pay for and we do not even get to vacation there !

Certain concepts come to mind in connection with the alleged activity of the judge who certified a non-licensed person as a duly-licensed mental health provider…fraud, collusion, breach of his duty as an officer of the court, and impeachment. No citizen should be abused in a court of law by the known fraudulent representation of an “expert’s credentials”. Further, if these abuses were perpetrated against you in retaliation for your role as citizen-informant, and coordinated by a certain political party (whose agents were all members of said political party), well, then another concept comes to mind…RICO.

  4. Can you believe this? Obama has asked General McCrystal to come on back! He wants him to go back to Afghanistan and take over for Petraeus! Will McCrystal spit in his face or go back to a job he may have loved? After Obama publicly humiliated McCrystal after reading a Rolling Stone’s article that he didn’t like..he wants forgiveness? Obama’s thin skin was so fragile he had McCrystal jump on an airplane to come back so he could resign.

    Background on McCrystal

Veiled Muslims arrested in France. It’s now against the law to wear those all-encompassing niqabs. The photo looks staged. Is it even a she?

  6. I am having an alinsky moment.

why isn’t promoted that everyone go register Independent/ Non Affiliated on a particular Day 2011. We can show them what the 2 pARTY sYSTEm used to look like. We have the power to crush them and the LameStreamStateMedia.

    hmmmm, DrKate!!!!

    • The more I think about this… the more I like. We can screw and obscure their stats and fake polls while they are at it. We’ll vote in private and the dNCommies and the RINoComrades cannot be 1000 yards near a polling place.

yeah. let’s obliterate the talking heads. blur. blip.

There is a 3rd Party contrary to all the Bullpuckies dropped about how it can only serve to elect Obama. Independent Americans with IDs voting in private would drive them insane. No more bucks to MotorVoter and that whole scam, either. let’s get non-partisan, for real. The Federal Budget will lose a pound. … … 😉

    • I have to agree with you Papoose. I’m too ashamed to admit that I’m a D and I’m too conservative with way more important to things to get done than an R. I’m sick and tired of them treating main stream America like we are stupid. We can see through all their phoney agendas.

Yes, health care needs to be fixed, but not by being taken over by the Federal Government. A place to start is with the Drug companies and conflicts of interest that have been allowed to run ammuck similar to what happend with Wall Street and the Investment Bankers. A good place to start with the fuel prices is to stop the speculators and OPEC and to Drill Baby Drill. As far as Social Security and Medicare is concerned. Yes there is fraud and abuse and it needs to be rooted out, but there are millions of Americans who have paid into this system for numerous years and are entitled for the obligations to be met. It would make you mad as hell if your insurance company failed to follow the contract you had with them. You’d end up in court. I can’t stand to hear Republican talking heads attack Social Security with agendas only to deprive the truly entitled Americans of their significant investment. The truth is that when they lowered the maximim annual limit, they gave a HUGE tax brake to the wealthy. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like taxes, but the truth is that the little guy pays a way higher percentage of taxes on their income than the wealthy. They little guy pays the full tax on every dollar they make.

I’m sick of both parties….sorry for the rant….tell me when we are going to register Independent and how to get the message out and I’m on board.

  7. Independent for Independent Thinkers…. I like the sound of that!

  8. Where is the Grandious Greer person ? I thought he was on this post.
