59,017 “Other Than Mexican” Illegal Aliens Were Apprehended in 2010, including 663 “Aliens from Special Interest Countries”
Judicial Watch, Washington, D.C., the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced on March 9, 2011 that it had obtained new documents from U.S. Customs and Border Protection detailing FY 2010 apprehension statistics for illegal alien smugglers and illegal aliens from countries considered to be a high threat to the United States because of their suspected ties to terrorism.
Among the highlights from the documents, obtained by Judicial Watch pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request originally filed on January 26, 2011:
- U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended 463,382 individuals smuggled across the border, including 8,905 smugglers. (3,027 of the smugglers apprehended were deemed “deportable.”)
- U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended 59,017 “Other Than Mexican” illegal aliens through October 7, 2010.
- Among the nations represented in apprehension statistics are the four countries currently on the State Department’s list of “State Sponsors of Terrorism,” Cuba (712), Iran (14), Syria (5) and Sudan (5), as well as Somalia (9), Afghanistan (9), Pakistan (37), Saudi Arabia (5) and Yemen (11).
- Overall, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended 663 “Aliens from Special Interest Countries.” These countries are deemed “special interest” because of their suspected ties to terrorism.
- The countries yielding the highest “Other Than Mexican” apprehensions include: Guatemala (18,406), El Salvador (13,723), and Honduras (13,580).
U.S. Border Patrol estimates that three out of every four illegal aliens who cross the border evade apprehension!
Press reports thrust the issue of suspected terrorists crossing the border into the spotlight in May 2010 when the Department of Homeland Security issued an alert to authorities in Texas to be on the lookout for a member of the Somali-based terrorist group Al Shabaab, who was suspected of hatching a plot to cross into the U.S. through Mexico. The warning followed an indictment unsealed earlier that month in a Texas federal court accusing a Texas Somali man of running a “large-scale smuggling enterprise” charged with bringing hundreds of Somalis across the Mexican border. Many of these illegal aliens were suspected of having ties to terrorist organizations. However, until now, the Obama administration offered little information regarding the overall scope of this growing national security problem.
“We should not be surprised if terrorists take advantage of our porous borders in light of the Obama administration’s lax approach to border security,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
“When you have an administration that pushes illegal alien amnesty, permits illegal alien sanctuary policies, and attacks states like Arizona for seeking to enforce the rule of law, it sends a signal to our enemies to cross the border illegally and to do their worst. The Obama administration continues to allow our borders to spiral out of control. These numbers are simply astonishing. Our country cannot secure our borders soon enough!”
One of the U.S. president’s responsibilities, and they are very limited, is that ”he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed,” i.e., by others, who are commonly, but not always with strict accuracy, termed his subordinates. Exactly when will our citizens be protected from the alien immigrants who are crossing our borders illegally? When will the Federal Immigration Laws be faithfully executed? When will the protection of our country become a priority? When will the president do his job and his duty to uphold the laws of this land and secure our borders? When will our immigration laws be followed and upheld? When?

Arizona established itself over the past year as the most aggressive state in cracking down on illegal immigrants, gaining so much momentum with its efforts that several other states vowed to follow suit. But now the harsh realities of economics appear to have intruded, and Arizona may be looking to shed the image of hard-line anti-immigration pioneer.
In an abrupt change of course, Arizona lawmakers rejected new anti-immigration measures on Thursday, in what was widely seen as capitulation to pressure from business executives and an admission that the state’s tough stance had resulted in a chilling of the normally robust tourism and convention industry.
“I don’t believe that anyone, including myself, foresaw the national and international reaction” to April’s bill, said Glenn Hamer, chief executive of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who said estimates of lost tourism business ranged from $15 million to $150 million. “Now we have that experience under our belts. We know these measures can cause economic damage; it’s just a matter of degree.”

WASHINGTON – National Guard troops that have helped beef up security along the southwestern border since last summer will leave as planned by the second week of June, the commander of the Arizona Guard told a House panel Tuesday.
Maj. Gen. Hugo Salazar, adjutant general of the Guard in the state, said that the mission has gone well and that his troops have helped the Department of Homeland Security monitor the border and gather intelligence against the transnational crime cartels that smuggle drugs, weapons and cash across the border
“It’s inexcusable and inexplicable to consider withdrawal of National Guard troops from our southern border at a time when cartel violence continues and the security of the border region remains under threat from drug and human smugglers,” [Gov. Brewer] she said.
“Unfortunately, this appears to be further evidence that the White House is not fully committed to devoting the manpower and resources necessary to secure the border. Rather than withdrawing National Guard troops, the president ought to consider using them as a long-term tool to augment the nation’s border-security strategy.”

This is something for which we can blame both GWB and Barry, as well as the complicit Congress and the legislatures in the states. Not to mention the courts.
Anybody with half a brain could have predicted that terrorists from the Middle East WOULD take advantage not only of the open border, but also of the FACT that they can so easily “pass” for Mexicans.
Isn’t it heartening to learn that they caught 53 guys from Pakistan, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia? Why did THOSE guys want to sneak across the border? Terrorists? No, they’re probably doctors, spice traders, or oil barons.
It’s NOT heartening, but is quite frightening, to think about the predicted 150 or more from those same countries who were NOT caught. Sleepers. What will they do now that Barry has attacked another Muslim nation?

That story touts the idea that the “business community” can lead in finding a compromise on immigration bills in the states. You know what? I realize that businesses love to have cheap labor and don’t want to be seen as anti-Hispanic, since they make a lot of money catering to that ethnic group.
BUT it’s not right to make profits at the expense of national security. This is serious stuff. It’s time for the Hispanic community to realize that, too. Terrorist bombs aren’t going to blow up only “Anglos”. Latinos or Hispanics or “persons of color”, whatever you want to call them, are in the sights of terrorists, too. And so are businesses.
I have no problem with them registering illegal aliens and letting them get in back of the line for green cards. What I have a problem with is REWARDING them with citizenship. They should NEVER get citizenship.
If they want to be guest workers and then go home, fine, so long as they’re NOT taking jobs that OUR citizens can and WILL do.
However, nobody who broke our laws, especially if they were here for years, sponging off US taxpayers by receiving government benefits, should EVER be allowed to become US citizens.
Unless, of course, they go home, get on the list, and immigrate the RIGHT WAY.
US citizenship is NOT a right. It’s a privilege that’s EARNED. And not by people who start off by breaking US law.
Here’s my compromise. If the Democrats REALLY care about the people, about them getting a fair wage, about them having a chance to “do the jobs Americans won’t do,” then they should have no problem with only giving them the right to be guest workers and then go home.
But Democrats are LIARS. They PRETEND to care about these people when ALL they care about is having another huge class of people who are DEPENDENT upon DEMOCRATS for TAXPAYER-FUNDED goodies and thus will forever more VOTE for DEMOCRATS who will continue to fund their goodies.
IF this is NOT their goal, simply to bloat the Democrat voter base, then they should agree with any plan that brings the people out of the shadows and allows them to work here BUT NEVER BECOME VOTING CITIZENS.

Kuang Hao Chou, who also goes by Edwin, and his wife, Ling Yu Hsieh, who goes by Erica, are accused of getting fraudulent documents for themselves and others. In August 1996, Chou received an employment authorization document — also known as a work permit — that Schofield fraudulently issued in exchange for money, according to the indictment. Hsieh followed a similar path, the indictment says, and used false documentation to become a naturalized citizen in March 2005.
The couple claimed to be lawfully naturalized citizens when they got jobs as State Department contractors and government security clearances, the indictment says.”

Because of DHS’s practice of catching and releasing suspected Nigerian immigration violators, 52 Nigerians ended up becoming fugitives in the United States in fiscal years 2009 and 2010 alone.
These 52 Nigerian fugitives include 15 who DHS caught and released in the 9 months following Abdulmutallab’s attempt to blow up Northwest Flight 253.
They also included two additional fugitives who DHS caught before the attempted Christmas Day bombing then released after it.”

13 Illegal Immigrants Arrested in California Wearing U.S. Marine Uniforms

Border Patrol agents recently arrested 13 illegal immigrants disguised as U.S. Marines and riding in a fake military van, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday.
After the suspicious white van was subjected to secondary inspection, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle and its front seat passenger were U.S. citizens who were attempting to smuggle 13 illegal immigrants into the United States. All of the vehicle’s occupants wore U.S. Marine uniforms, reportedly emblazoned with the name “Perez.”
The van used in the smuggling attempt, according to California’s El Centro Border Intelligence Center, was a privately owned vehicle registered out of Yucca Valley, Calif., and was bearing stolen government plates that had been defaced. The center digit — 0 — was altered to read as an 8. Further research through multiple government agencies determined that the plate belonged to a one-ton cargo van registered to the U.S. Marine Corps.

Ariz. Sheriff: Feds Order Release of Illegals to Phony Up Numbers

The U.S. Border Patrol has told its agents to stop arresting illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico to keep the illegal immigration numbers down, Arizona Sheriff Larry Dever tells Newsmax.
He also charges that Attorney General Eric Holder is “holding hands with the ACLU” to protect illegal aliens from prosecution, says illegals are committing “heinous crimes” across America every day, and calls claims that the federal government should be solely responsible for controlling illegal immigration “balderdash.”
Dever is sheriff of Cochise County, which shares an 83-mile border with Mexico, and he says his Border Patrol sector is responsible for half of all illegal aliens caught trying to enter the country and halt the narcotics entering the United States.
Cochise County, Ariz., Sheriff Larry Dever discusses his departments battle against the Obama administrations efforts to stop immigration law enforcement. He accuses the Department of Homeland Security of hypocrisy in selective prosecution of crimes. In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, he was asked about the Obama administration’s bragging that the border is more secure than ever. “For the secretary of homeland security to say the border is more secure than ever, well, I’ve been there forever and there was a happier time than what it is today. We have a long, long way to go. “Don’t drink the Kool-Aid and buy into ‘this border is secure’ nonsense.
“There’s a bad element in the mix of the aliens that are crossing that border and they don’t stay there, they move into communities throughout the country. And every day there are travesties and heinous crimes being committed by those people. If we don’t stop it at the border, it’s just going to continue to grow.”
Dever recently told Congress that in one district in Texas, illegals are allowed to be caught crossing the border 14 times before being charged with a felony, and federal smuggling charges are not considered unless at least six illegal aliens are being smuggled into the country. “It doesn’t surprise me because we’ve been seeing that every day in Arizona, with artificial thresholds for narcotics, for human smuggling,” he tells Newsmax. “For that to be issued as a written solid order, it’s outrageous.”
He also explains how he has heard that the Border Patrol has told officers to stop arresting Mexican illegals to keep official illegal immigration figures down. “That comes from agents on the ground, who have told me, told my deputies, told citizens in the area. “They have in the past been instructed to scare people back or turn them back south versus arresting them.”
Referring to “roadblocks” Eric Holder has been erecting against Arizona’s attempts to deal with the immigration problem, Dever says: “He’s the guy who sued us, sued the state of Arizona, holding hands with the ACLU. It doesn’t do any good to arrest people if all you’re going to do is kick them back. If they’re not going to be prosecuted and held accountable, where’s the teeth in the enforcement effort?”

The first entry without inspection of an alien is a misdemeanor CRIME. An illegal entry after having been previously deported is a felony CRIME. Please do not say they are not criminals. Now President Obama has given several million Amnesty by EXECUTIVE ORDER. He should be charged with aiding and abetting illegal aliens which is a felony.
