How Our pResident Celebrates President’s Day (Open Thread)

By Bridgette

Day by Day in Every Way…

What freedom, liberty, or law are the Marxists/Communists/Socialists/Progressives stomping on today?

People With Brains are Always Welcome at WTPOTUS!

Today we are celebrating Presidents’ Day.

Happy Presidents’ Day!

Washington was our first president, a founding father and a Revolutionary war General while Lincoln struggled to keep the Union together during the Civil War.

Let’s contrast how Washington helped form our country and how Lincoln helped keep our country united with how Obama divides our country into classes and races, gives way to unions, illegal immigrants, foreign rulers and caves in to our enemies.

As our President, Obama doesn’t keep his oath to uphold our Constitution. In fact, he ignores it  and  goes against it, as he is an unconstitutional president because he was born a duel citizen.

Obama, to the detriment of The United States of America and us,  its citizens, undermines everything for which President Washington and President Lincoln worked so hard.

How does our President celebrate Presidents’ Day?

Figuratively speaking,  Obama dances while our Constitution burns.

  1. Anyone notice that Yahoo News is highlighting the leftist blog, “The Daily Beast”? I don’t read it often enough to know if this has been going on or if this is something new.

USDA offers settlement to women, Hispanic farmers

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration is offering at least $1.3 billion to settle complaints from female and Hispanic farmers who say they faced discrimination from the Agriculture Department….

  5. Blagojevich trial update, 3 counts dropped, Half of indictment dropped, Obama protected, Justice Dept corruption

Prosecutors in the Blagojevich trial have dropped 3 counts from the indictment against him. That is approximately 15%. That does not appear on the surface to be significant. However, counts 1 and 2 represent about half of the indictment and mention numerous Chicago corruption figures with ties to Obama. Get the picture?

  6. Janet Napolitano dispatches 21-man team to respond to Issa document demands

With the showdown between top GOP oversight official Rep. Darrell Issa and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Sec. Janet Napolitano heating up, Napolitano has dispatched a 21-man team to respond to Issa’s document and testimony requests, a DHS source says. The team includes 15 lawyers and six “support staff” who have logged over 600 hours working to find documents and review them before sending more than 3,000 pages to Issa, the source says. Still, the 21-man team shows Napolitano, after initially snubbing Issa on his first two deadlines for the release of documents, has put significant resources into cooperating with newly empowered House Republicans.

Issa is requesting documents from DHS about political interference with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the agency.

Tuesday, Issa subpoenaed the testimony of two key career officials at DHS, the first time Issa is using the force of law to compel information from the Obama administration since Republicans took control of the House. ….now that Issa has issued the subpoena, the testimony of the officials is required by law.

  7. Conservative African American: Debate me, Sharpton and you libs!
    02/25/2011 Snips

Conservative Mychal Massie, chairman of the black leadership network Project 21, is calling on liberal African American leaders to back up their charges of racism against the Tea Party.

Massie has challenged the Rev. Al Sharpton, National Urban League President Marc Morial, and former D.C. Congressional Delegate Walter Fauntroy to a debate over the Tea Party’s alleged bigotry.

“With their divisive rhetoric, these men and those like them do incalculable harm to the cohesiveness of our communities. It is time they be held accountable,” Massie said.

“These men have thus far been given carte blanche to make such accusations,” said Massie. “They have used the media to inject their poisonous and divisive diatribes as personal currency into the public economy. It is time they are called upon to explain and defend their allegations.”

To date, none have responded to say whether they will participate in the Monday debate at the National Press Club.

  8. White House names gay social secretary

The White House announced the appointment Friday afternoon of Jeremy Bernard to the position of Special Assistant to the President and Social Secretary. He is the first man and the first openly gay person to hold the position.

Bernard will join the White House from the U.S. Embassy in Paris, where he serves as senior adviser to the ambassador.

  9. New Soros investment fund, profiting off Obama’s ‘green energy’ push, hires top Obama energy aide

George Soros — whom we’re always told is not serving his own economic interests at all by promoting liberal politicians and big-government policies — is launching a new investment fund that plans to profit off of the “green energy” boom, which is entirely dependent on government subsidies supported by the groups Soros funds.

And not only is Soros starting a business to profit off policies lobbied for and written by the Center for American Progress--which Soros himself bankrolls!–but he’s also hired Cathy Zoi, Barack Obama’s “Acting Under Secretary for Energy and Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy,” to run it. (If you remember Zoi’s name, it’s because of another green-tech conflict of interest: Zoi’s husband is an executive at a window company, Serious Windows, which the White House regularly held up as a “poster child of green industry.“)

Oh yeah, Serious Materials pocketed federal stimulus money, too. But as NetNet’s Thompson puts it: But we can put all that behind us, because now Zoi has left the Obama Administration and will go back to work making an honest living in the private sector, where she can put all the knowledge she gained from working for the Department of Energy to work for the private equity firms. Thata girl Zoi!

  10. “Operation Sue Bobby Jindal.”
DOJ sting targets Bobby Jindal and ignores the law

Attorney General Eric Holder’s Justice Department has targeted Gov. Bobby Jindal’s, R-La., administration as part of a rushed investigation into whether Louisiana is complying with federal voting laws. Undercover investigators have flooded the state to interview welfare recipients to determine if state welfare offices are urging them to register to vote.

During a time when DOJ travel is purportedly frozen, these numerous DOJ staffers have been deployed for days in New Orleans and around Louisiana trolling for stories of state officials failing to urge welfare recipients to register to vote. The DOJ will use the evidence collected from welfare recipients to support a lawsuit against Jindal’s administration under Section 7 of Motor Voter. The “Motor Voter” law passed in 1993 contained an important congressional compromise. Welfare and motor vehicle agencies would serve as voter registration offices, while states would be obligated to conduct voter roll cleaning to purge ineligible felons and dead voters. The two provisions act together as counterparts.

DOJ Voting Section bureaucrats have been lurking outside welfare agencies in Louisiana trying to collect evidence to sue the Jindal administration. When people leave the welfare offices, investigators rush to interrogate them, asking if they were urged to register to vote. Sworn declarations of welfare recipients are snapped up.

Americans have a right to know why the Obama DOJ is on a quest to enforce laws that register likely political allies, but won’t enforce laws to protect the integrity of American elections.

Time to Reconsider Partition For Bosnia
    European Institute ^ | 2/25/2011 | Ted Galen Carpenter

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned the feuding ethnic factions in Bosnia and Herzegovina that if they did not resolve their differences, their country was in danger of missing its opportunity to join the European Union and NATO and become a vibrant part of the modern, democratic West. Unfortunately, there are few indications that her message will be heeded. The elections that took place shortly before Clinton’s visit once again confirmed that Bosnia is a fragile, artificial political entity with little prospect for improved viability. Most media accounts in the United States and Europe highlighted the victory of the supposed moderate candidate, Bakir Izetbegovic, son of Bosnia’s controversial first leader, for the Muslim seat on the country’s collective presidency. But that focus was misplaced for two reasons.

First, some caution is warranted about the extent of Izetbegovic’s moderation. He does seem less extreme than many other Muslim political figures (including Haris Silajdzic, the incumbent he defeated) in the Muslim-Croat subnational entity that makes up one half of Bosnia’s convoluted political structure. It remains unclear, though, just how much different Izetbegovic’s views are from those of his father, and some experts on the region remain skeptical.

Second, election results in the Serbian subnational entity, the Republika Srpska, and for the Serb seat on the collective presidency indicated that ethnic nationalists remain in control. The re-election of Milorad Dodik as president of the Republika Srpska is especially significant, since Dodik has stated repeatedly that the RS ought to be able to secede from Bosnia and form an independent state.

Consequently, even if Muslims and Croats might be in the mood for compromise, there is little evidence that the Serbs share that attitude.

The bottom line is that Bosnia seems no closer politically to being a viable country now than it was fifteen years ago when the U.S-brokered (and largely U.S.-imposed) Dayton accords ended the civil war that had cost more than 100,000 lives. Extinguishing that bloody conflict was no minor achievement, but it did not alter the reality that Bosnia and Herzegovina remained an unstable political amalgam of three mutually hostile ethnic groups. The country was politically dysfunctional from the moment it seceded from the disintegrating Yugoslav federation, and the Dayton Accords did not solve that problem….

WOLF: Organized medical fraud in Wisconsin
Government doctors abandon their oath and target the public they serve

    By Dr. Milton R. Wolf
    February 25, 2011 Snips

“Primum nil nocere.” First, do no harm. This bedrock principle in medicine is a foreign language to most politicians and, sadly, to some Wisconsin doctors, who have violated their oath and the public trust as they have defrauded Wisconsin taxpayers.

Several University of Wisconsin family physicians donned their sacred white coats and were caught distributing fraudulent “sick notes” free for the asking quite literally by the boxful – I wonder who paid for that printing – to teachers and others who skipped work to engage in political protest at the state Capitol in Madison. Whatever the merits of the teachers’ protest, there’s a word for what these doctors and teachers are perpetrating: fraud.

Meanwhile, taxpayers and students are paying dearly. According to the Department of Education, two-thirds of Wisconsin public school eighth-graders cannot read at a proficient level. And yet, while the average total compensation of a Milwaukee public school teacher is a staggering $100,005 per year, these entitled teachers demand that taxpayers pay them, quite literally, to agitate for more tax money.

  13. NUGENT:When the going gets tough, Democrats run
The longer they hide, the better for the GOP
    Friday, February 25, 2011 Snips

The Democrats‘ new playbook says to run away and hide when they don’t get their way. Good.

The one fundamental political truism in America is that Democrats always find a way to self-destruct. Good again.

Democratic legislators in Wisconsin and Indiana have run away so they don’t have to vote, represent their constituents or act like Americans. Other lemming Democrats surely will take their lead and follow them off the political cliff.

It’s hard to imagine our Founding Fathers finding the running-away behavior laudable or respectable, but I haven’t found anything yet that liberals believe that is in line with the philosophy and agenda of our Founding Fathers.

It’s delightful how these Democrats have run away from their elective jobs and hid. This juvenile, pro-union stunt has only tightened the political noose for Democrats in 2012. Hang ‘em high.

  14. Obama’s Socialism

President Obama’s cult of personality and feel-good message of “change” allowed him to sail through the 2008 campaign without being thoroughly vetted by the press. No one took the time to delve into his past and look at his influences, his actions, or his political theory. And when something did come up, the press allowed him to skate on by rather than press him for real information (Jeremiah Wright, anyone?).

Recent guest Stanley Kurtz decided to do what the press failed to do – take an honest look at Obama’s politics. His investigation resulted in Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism. In this episode, Kurtz discusses the many socialist influences in Obama’s life, from his college years to his time as a community organizer, with men such as Bill Ayers, Frank Marshal Davis, and Jeremiah Wright.

In examining Obama’s main mentors, Kurtz begins to see a clear ideology that motivates the President’s disdain for the middle class, take-no-prisoners approach to passing socialized healthcare, reluctance to discuss political theory and desire for, ultimately, a socialist revolution.

Farrakhan THREAT!: Mideast Uprisings WILL Come To US

Coming soon to a theater near you

You knew this was coming. In fact, you might say it’s been the goal since about, oh…..November 4, 2008.

“Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan predicted on Sunday that America faces imminent uprisings that mirror those in the Middle East. “What you are looking at in Tunisia, in Egypt … Libya, in Bahrain … what you see happening there … you’d better prepare because it will be coming to your door,” Farrakhan said in a booming voice, thousands of followers cheering in his wake.

Farrakhan quite frequently refers to Obama as the “messiah”

Farrakhan also called on President Barack Obama to allow protesters to march, urging the president not to attack innocent people when they do. The controversial minster spoke to a packed house at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont as part of the 81st annual celebration of Saviours’ Day, which marks the birth of the faith’s founder, W. Fard Muhammad,0,1665375.story

    • Uprising in America ? He is pushing this. Pushing for violence ? What is the PRISON sentence for that ? He might just find out soon if his fat trap keeps running…hopefully from a JAIL Cell in the future…

Feb. 24, 2011) — As the battle for states’ rights heat up across the country, Montana and Arizona have leaped out into the lead by introducing the first broad-based State Nullification Reaffirmation Act designed to return the power to the people and their states and rein in federal government abuses of misinterpreted power.

This model legislation aims to reaffirm and reassert broad-based sovereign state’s rights under the Ninth and Tenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution by providing both the constitutional grounds and legislative methods by which states can swiftly nullify any past, present or future unconstitutional acts of the federal government.

    The primary parts of the model include the following;

    a) Establish the constitutional grounds for state nullification
    b) Establish a swift method for nullification of any unconstitutional federal act, past, present or future
    c) Establish that only the US Supreme Court has “original jurisdiction” under Article III of the US Constitution
    d) Establish that the people (not the courts) have the final word
    e) Establish the very limited role and power of the federal government under the Ninth and Tenth Amendments
    f) Reject modern expansions of power via misinterpretations of the commerce, welfare and supremacy clauses
    g) Regain state and citizen control over the runaway FED

Attorney Stephen Pidgeon is the legal spokesperson for The United States Patriots Union regarding the State Nullification Reaffirmation Act.

  17. Allen West vs. Lawrence O’Donnell: No contest
    February 28, 2011

Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” tried and tried and tried some more to get Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) to apologize and retract his statements that Obama should be willing to go to the location of the troops and put himself in harm’s way when visiting Afghanistan.

Lawrence may not have gotten the memo that West is a real American hero with conviction; and doesn’t easily back down to the leftwing press. Leftists posing as journalists also are not too happy about West’s comment that Obama is “probably the dumbest person walking around in America.”

West’s comments on Obama’s “dumbness” might actually be construed as a compliment. For the choices are: (1) Obama really is the smartest guy in the room but because of the mess G.W. Bush left him even his brilliance cannot reverse the country’s decline. (2) Obama is intentionally weakening the economy and America’s position in the world (perhaps naively believing socialism is good for the world?). (3) Obama is just another SEIU / ACORN type organizer who looks and sounds presidential but unfortunately is completely out of his league.

Given the choices, West may be giving Obama the benefit of the doubt. The “it’s Bush’s fault” narrative is getting a little old. And if Obama is not trying to bring about a neo-Marxist revolution, only one choice remains.

Allen West refuses to retract statement that Obama should risk his life with troops

  18. Texas group launches scholarship for white men ONLY… because they ‘need an equal shot’
    By Daniel Bates

“A non-profit group has launched a college scholarship for a demographic it claims are under-represented in society – white men.
The Former Majority Association for Equality will give grants of $500 to any man from Texas who is at least ‘25 per cent Caucasian’, has good grades and can demonstrate they are in need.
Its founder Colby Bohannan claims whites feel ‘excluded’ when they apply to college and that they are ‘left out’ when it comes to funding….

…Hispanics accounted for two-thirds of the population growth over the past decade in Texas.
Non-Hispanic whites now make up about 45 per cent of residents.
The scholarship has already touched off a heated debate in Texas and on the Texas State University student newspaper opinion was divided.

About-time wrote: ‘This is awesome! Its about time people realize that white people deserve help too. Its not just minorities who struggle’.
Armset11 however said: ‘Great..yet another scholarship fund that discriminates based on race.’

William Lake, FMAFE’s treasurer, said: ‘There’s a scholarship out there for just about any demographic, except this one.

‘We realise it’s for good reason – this is a touchy subject”–need-equal-shot.html
