Ground Zero Mosque? ‘all possess alike liberty,’” Bloomberg said.

By Renee

SHOCKING! NY's Transit Agency's Approved Bus Ad

George Washington is quoted by Bloomberg regarding the mosque at ground zero? Really? Interesting spin.  An online  poll today on thumbs up or down on the Ground Zero Mosque says it all;  89% thumbs down. So, if  sensitive Islamics note how rude all of this is, how can Bloomberg put a sweet spin on this outrage? How can he offend  Americans and the citizens of his city in this way?  Who exactly does he work for?

Now, I believe that if good old George were alive, I think he would prove Bloomberg is full of it. He would be outraged. Even the Pope is calling for Islamic-Christian relations to become more fair and less one-sided.  Let’s take a look at that.

Now if I wanted to travel to an Islamic country,  I would be required to cover my head in air space, could not shop, travel to Mecca, take off my head covering in front of an open window in my own home,  sight see or drive without a male escort from my family.  If I did, I would be looked upon as a harlot. I could also take the chance of being put in prison or stoned if I was rumored of having sex with someone my husband decided in his mind I had sex with.  Rumors will do. Facts are not necessary. I could be put on National TV like a  constant, repeating infomercial threat like the woman in Iran is facing now. To scare the other women to death.   Fear mongering, as Bridgette says.

If my husband thought I was enjoying sex too much, he could have my %#*^ gouged off surgically, and I could die of infection. God forbid women like sex.  That fun is for the man’s pleasure, got it? If he is a real tyrant, he will cut off the ^$&# of my young girls too. Then he will marry them off  like cows for money.  Any old, creepy, gross, old man with money will do.  Perverts come one, come all.  After all, it is just a problem over there to be burdened with female children. Get rid of them fast before they disgrace the family.

My girls would become janitors, and never be educated like sons. My family will direct me to obey, and will be seriously disgraced if I ever divorce, no matter my treatment.

This is not a culture our country will ever embrace. We may have religious freedom here, but we are a Christian country, CHRISTIAN.   Our country is filled with Christians of all colors, backgrounds and financial situations. Christians; black, white, yellow, brown, rich, poor and all in between.   Someone keeps forgetting that part. They better get that part through their empty heads.  American Christians are the basis of America. Do you hear this part?

I wonder if I should send a pound of bacon to my Islamic friend in California?  Wondering if he will like the diversity as much as we are supposed to like this? Will that endear him to me?  Hummm..maybe a ham in the mail box for him too?  Add some Jello, jelly beans and pork chops. After all, we are supposed to have an open mind, right?  Sure, he will adore me! Yeah right.   This is on purpose, or there is more to 9-11 than we know.  One or the other.  This does not make sense, any way you slice this, it comes out smelling like dirty feet. This is intentional smearing of Christians and Americans. This is intentionally stirring the pot for a cultural or religious war.  Something wicked.

Now, I am wondering how I would do if I decided I wanted equal rights and a trip to Mecca? What if I pulled out my pork skins and munched them outside a mosque?  It would be insensitive of me, right?   Sure it would.  So, how can that insensitivity only travel one way?  This is happening now.  All give from Christians, no equal give and take. Kind of like an Islamic marriage huh? Then to have an US President add to the insult, and spit in this wound, this takes on a much more serious meaning. He knows this is rude, crude, insensitive and in seriously bad taste. He knows he is stirring a stinking pot but he still stirs it. Why? What is the reason?

Does our president have NO sensitivity chips, is he totally dense, or just here to pit Americans against each other? It will not work. We have all met a few people from other places that have all relocated to America- for good reason. We made friends, learned a bit of their culture and taught them some of ours. We bridged the ethnic gaps in our own way. From our open hearts.  We have been very tolerant, and maybe this is a part of the problem. We are tired of things being shoved down our throats. We refuse to apologize when we are not guilty of any crimes.  Our leaders pull the strings, not us. If guilty parties are among us, start there.  Get off our toes.  NOW.

September 11 will never leave the minds of Americans. You can bet on it, so unless there is more to the 9-11 story then we know,  again, this smells like dirty feet.  I am wondering if this is another disgusting diversion. Is something worse really going on and this is just to keep us busy squealing?   There  are over 30 mosques in New York.  No problem with freedom of religion there,  just a problem with race baiting.  It all started with this election.

I hear that mental health experts have a name and clinical definition for people who pit people against each other on purpose. You know what that mental illness is called? It is called Borderline Personality Disorder.   Look it up.  Pitting people against one another is one of the main tell-tale signs of the disorder. I have had my share of watching this in action lately. It feels like elementary school with the class bully to me.

Something is rotten here, that is for sure. It needs to be thrown into the trash can, where rotten things go. I hope Americans of all colors stand up for themselves. It is time. This is an outrage.

Help AP Writers Find a Substitute Phrase for ‘Ground Zero Mosque’ — Update:

    Rep. Grayson Offers Suggestions
    By Doug Powers • August 19, 2010

The Upshot reported Tuesday that the AP started using the phrase “Ground Zero mosque” in some headlines in late May. The Associated Press is now prohibiting its staff from using the words “Ground Zero mosque” in stories:

In any case, since “Ground Zero Mosque” is officially a no-no for the AP, here are a couple of suggestions for Associated Press writers to choose from to get us started. They could even use these on a rotating basis to avoid repetition.

Feel free to add to this short list and I’ll try and put some of them up when I get home later:

    -“The Hope & Change Experience”

-“House of worship in relative proximity to where Russell Simmons believes Christians bombed the WTC”

    -“Project Bloomberg”

A growing number of New York construction workers are vowing not to work on the mosque planned near Ground Zero.

“It’s a very touchy thing because they want to do this on sacred ground,” said Dave Kaiser, 38, a blaster who is working to rebuild the World Trade Center site.

“I wouldn’t work there, especially after I found out about what the imam said about U.S. policy being responsible for 9/11,” Kaiser said.

The grass-roots movement is gaining momentum on the Internet. One construction worker created the “Hard Hat Pledge” on his blog and asked others to vow not to work on the project if it stays on Park Place.

She questions the instigating Imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf’s, motives. “This Imam actually said, ‘we want to own 9/11, we are going to use that site to turn the narrative around.’ He wasn’t talking about peace, he was talking about ownership and territory,” she said. “We know he is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose objective is to take America down from within — infiltrate their institutions, government, military, media, education, cultural institutions and bring Sharia to America from within.”

  4. Critics attack State Department program sponsoring Ground Zero imam’s trip to the Middle East
By Amanda Carey – The Daily Caller | Published: 1:27 AM 08/20/2010

Feisal Abdul Rauf – will soon be departing on a State Department-sponsored trip to the Middle East— and American taxpayers will be footing the bill.

The State Department released further information about the trip Wednesday, disclosing that it will cost roughly $16,000, with Rauf — who has been criticized for refusing to call Hamas a terrorist organization and saying that American actions in the Middle East were ”an accessory to the crime” of the 9/11 attacks — receiving $3,000 in speaker fees.

The 15-day excursion to Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates is meant to promote religious tolerance and help bridge the cultural gap between the Muslim world and the West

    • What do “global warming,” “global governance” and “sustainable development” have to do with the proposed “Ground Zero mosque?” One would think absolutely nothing; however investigation into the money, organizations and people behind the project has uncovered some revealing and disturbing connections. An extensive analysis of these findings provides the missing insight into the larger agenda, motives and modus operandi associated with what is now known as the Park51project. It also reveals the reasons behind the persistence of the insipid and insulting project and why it remains viable in the face of such visceral opposition.

Those who oppose the construction of an Islamic center in close proximity to Ground Zero are legitimately upset by the hubris of Imam Feisal Abdul-Rauf and his associates, and his lack of class and sensitivity exhibited by their insistence to continue forward despite the plaintive objections of those most affected and victimized by the terrorist attacks. Some in opposition appear perplexed that the individuals behind the project have not relented or even acquiesced to open dialogue about moving the Islamic center due to the volatility created by the project. To date, overtures made by the governor of New York as well as members of the clergy have been quietly rebuffed by the people behind the project. If building bridges and fostering goodwill is, in fact, their objective, it is reasonable to question their reluctance and outright refusal to mitigate any ill will by reconsidering the location of the Islamic center. For the purpose of a comprehensive investigation, it is not only reasonable, it is imperative.

Opposition to the Islamic center to date has been limited to information that is known or has been most easily uncovered about Imam Abdul-Rauf and the Cordoba Initiative. That Abdul-Rauf has suggested that the 9/11 attacks were a result of American foreign policy and his refusal to characterize Hamas as a terrorist organization should themselves be sufficient reasons to cause any person of reasonable sensibilities to oppose the construction, especially at this location. Yet, those behind the project, as well as those in support of the project do not appear to be adversely affected and remain undeterred. Once again, it is an investigative imperative to determine why.

Despite such obviously controversial positions, Abdul-Rauf presses forward with the approval of political leaders from Barack Hussein Obama to Michael Bloomberg. Together with many in the corporate media, project supporters deflect from the core issue into a specious constitutional argument relating to freedom of religion, despite the fact that no one is preventing Islam from being practiced in the United States. The issues are even further diluted and deflected by those who insist that the project is neither a mosque nor will it be located at Ground Zero. While both assertions might be considered technically accurate in the eyes of Western thought and culture, they are nothing more than frivolous defenses at best and intellectual deception at worst.

Those who espouse such defenses either fail to understand or deliberately refuse to address the iconic Islamic symbolism behind the “9/11 Victory Mosque.” That the planned venture is technically outside of the footprint of the former World Trade Center complex is offered as a legitimate defense, which might hold true if one is to be so myopic as to disregard the Muslim world view. Perhaps that is the reason for the project makeover that began with the changing of the name from the Cordoba House to Park 51. It is not a likely coincidence that once the symbolic nature of Cordoba became more widely known, those behind the project opted to promote a more secular version of the initiative, while concurrently expunging certain elements relating to Islamic Shariah law from their web site.

Despite the plentiful amount of information developed by independent researchers, bloggers, and commentators that has been published about the questionable associations of project front man ABDUL-RAUF over the last few weeks, he continues to travel to the Middle East as an emissary of America at the behest of the Obama/Clinton State Department. Ostensibly, his purpose is to “discuss Muslim life in America and religious tolerance” with Islamic leaders in Muslim countries. Despite his questionable associations, the U.S. State Department is steadfast in their support of his goodwill tour.

Not only is the U.S. State Department unwavering in their support in spite of such controversy, they are invoking an unprecedented shroud of secrecy over the trip. When questioned about the content and message of Abdul-Rauf’s goodwill tour, U.S. State Department Spokesman Phillip Crowley curiously cited a 62 year-old law, erroneously claiming that the law shields Rauf’s message from the American public – at least by way of government web sites – as cited in this article published Tuesday by the editor of Family Security Matters.

It is clearly evident that there is something very disturbing taking place behind the scenes that is permitting this “duck or bleed” approach being employed by politicians and lawmakers. It is only when we investigate deeper into the people and groups behind this assault on American sensibilities and “follow the money” do we find the nefarious nexus of “Cap and Trade globalists,” Progressives” and Islamic leaders who are pushing for a “one world” religion.

The latter group, including foreign entities and governments, is working to replace our Judeo-Christian heritage with Islam as the dominant religion of America and Shariah in place of the U.S. Constitution. It is being conducted under the pretext of interfaith dialogue and unity, an objective for which Feisal ABDUL RAUF and his closest associates have been groomed.

While ABDUL RAUF and his associates are working to install Shariah in the U.S., the former group is engaged in the systematic effort to destroy the current religious and moral structures as a means to facilitate their objectives of control and domination. The Progressives and globalists are exploiting this transformation for their own agenda, which is the implementation of global governance. That is exactly what can be found when the layers of deception and distraction are carefully and methodically pulled back and the prospective money sources are identified.

  6. Ground Zero Mosque Imam: US Bloodier Than al-Qaida
    Tuesday, 24 Aug 2010 01:58 PM

The imam at the center of the debate over the mosque and Islamic center being built near ground zero said the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaida has in its murder of non-Muslims, according to a provocative new tape that has surfaced on the Internet. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the leader of the effort to build a mosque near the site of the 9/11 terror attacks in New York, told an Australian audience in July 2005 that U.N sanctions against Iraq had led to the death of more than 500,000 children.

But the group that procured the tape, the Investigative Project on Terrorism, counters in its fact check that studies have generally showed no more than 50,000 deaths could be attributed to the sanctions, which were brought on by the dictator Saddam Hussein.

In a taped speech now available online, Rauf makes a number of statements that would seem to counter his image as a moderate in the U.S. Muslim community.

“We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaida has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims,” he says at one point. “You may remember that the U.S.-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations. And when Madeleine Albright, who has become a friend of mine over the last couple of years, when she was Secretary of State and was asked whether this was worth it, said it was worth it.”

Rauf went on to recommend Michael Moore’s provocative documentary, “Fahrenheit 9/11.” Asked why Muslims commit suicide bombings, Rauf downplayed the role of Islam and instead placed them in a political framework, suggesting that in some cases they may be a legitimate military tactic:

“ . . . What makes people, in my opinion, commit suicide for political reasons have their origins in politics and political objectives and worldly objectives rather than other worldly objectives, he said. “But the psychology of human beings and the brittleness of the human condition and how many of us have thought about taking our own lives, we may be jilted, had a bad relationship, you know, didn’t get tenure at the university, failed an important course, there’s a host of reasons why people feel so depressed with themselves that they are willing to contemplate ending their own lives. And if you can access those individuals and deploy them for your own worldly objectives, this is exactly what has happened in much of the Muslim world.”

    • The Iman’s wife is spouting off that the US is against the Muslims while her husband is on a Middle East Tour sponsored by the US State Department to promote the US. Who is kidding whom here? These people are not moderates. Who are they really affiliated with if they won’t denounce Hamas or other Islamic terrorists.

  7. All those in opposition to the NYC mosque are being branded as Islamaphobes and bigots by the Democrats. I wonder how Miss USA will like her new labels, being a Muslim herself. Hey, and then there is Harry Reid too! What’s another branding coming from the left for 60 – 70 % of the nation! Such fools they are..and that is a brand I’ll give back to them, as well as demonic provocateurs! By the way, should we have the Left investigated to see who is funding all their organizations besides useless George Soros? What will the Left do when their benefactor bites the dust? The landscape might just change to a more positive tone when he’s pushing up manured daisies. Of course, I mean fertilized daisies.

    Miss USA: No mosque
    Henry Payne / The Michigan
    August 24, 2010

New York Times Obama spokesperson ” er ” columnist ” Maureen Dowd says Americans oppose the Cordoba Mosque near Ground Zero because they “still have a confused view of Muslims, and the president seems unable to help navigate the country through its Islamophobia.”

Add to the “Islamaphobes” Dearborn’s own Miss USA, Rima Fakih – the first Muslim to wear the crown. She came out against the Cordoba Mosque this weekend. Reports the New York Daily News:

The first Muslim crowned Miss USA spoke out against the planned mosque near Ground Zero yesterday, saying the project is insensitive to 9/11 victims.

“We should be more concerned with the tragedy than religion,” said Miss USA Rima Fakih, who was born in Lebanon but raised in Dearborn, Michigan.

  8. Just another mosque supporter 😦 — evil

  9. Ali
Do you have the original site for the video of the holocost survivor?

  10. AOne, According to the drop down menu on youtube site, it was first published on facebook — is that what you’re asking? Just type in the title “holocaust survivor gets cursed out” and then go to the drop down menu — lol thats the only way I know how to do it, please teach me if a simpler way exists. I’ve included Mike Ferrara’s link below.

  11. Ali

    • AOne, would you please listen to it again and give me your opinion — and did you get any further knowlege re the recording? I saw it was also on Breitbart. Anyway, my question is whether this guy was actually against the mosque? In listening to the tape a second time, it sounds like the hater’s friend claims the hater “is against it”. Gee, does that make the hater a “moderate liberal”?! The venom he spewed at the holocaust survivor — the look in his eyes, the hatred on his face — evil. If this hater doesn’t realize that he is just as insensitive, just as cold as the mosque developers, as the SS ….

  12. Ali
I need to watch it again but my impression was that the hater was a union guy…. He just looked like that to me… He did shout that the old guy didn’t learn his lesson and now wanted to kill Muslims…
He dud not look like your every day liberal that we have been seeing….. He was much more angry ….. Not just talking point type angry and he clearly wasn’t mid eastern ……… More like one who has a horse in the race………
BHO supporter for card check etc and ssinf that getting away?
He yelled that the old man was helping Osama!!?! Not sure what he could have been thinking….z

    • Maybe he was just plain anti-semetic and we aren’t used to seeing that face straight on!

      • There are some that really believe that any objection to Muslim behavior causes the fundamentalists to hate us more. They then associate any such action as a cause for Muslim retaliation …… As if iretaliation was then justifyable!

That type of resoning justifies beheadings!

        Or stoning for bad behavior!

        • There was a woman on TV tonight -FOX I think. Caught the very end. She said redical Islam had put Islam in a bad light so it was up to the moderates to show the other side. She was a really nice person to listen to. Very logical. She was a very modern Islamic lady. I need to find out who she is. She had great points, was honest, open and spoke in a way that made sense to all listening.

    • Thank you for the feedback AOne — good analysis

  13. article/interview – nbc nightly news with Brian Williams Aug 29, 2010

“…Obama doubled down on his support for a mosque and community center planned for a site two blocks north of ground zero in lower Manhattan – and denied reports that he tried to back away from backing the controversial project.

“I didn’t walk it back it all,” he said. “I was very specific with my team… The core value and principle that every American is treated the same doesn’t change… At [a White House Ramadan celebration], I had Muslim Americans who had been in uniform fighting in Iraq… How can you say to them that their religious faith is less worthy of respect?… That’s something that I feel very strongly about.” ”

  15. Mayor Bloomberg DOES NOT WANT an investigation of the NY Mosque! It is setting a bad precedent! Unfriggin’ believable.

Who is funding the mosque? We should have faith according to a spokesman for the Muslims. This is sending a bad message about America, Mr. Hassan says. It would be unconstitutional to check their finances. They will show their funding to the government as a non-profit. Then Timothy can do something about it! If something is wrong after the money is raised then the government can step in! (He is from CA, and is a conservative. also a Muslim. ).

71% of the people in NY are against this mosque.

  16. Too funny — found this at —

What does Rauf have in common with Rezko?

The Muslim cleric at the center of the proposed mosque and community center near Ground Zero is also a New Jersey landlord who got more than $2 million in public financing to renovate low-income apartments and has been beset for years by tenant complaints and financial problems.

    • Years before his latest real-estate project ignited an uproar, Sharif El-Gamal racked up at least seven run-ins with the law, including a bust for patronizing a prostitute.

“I regret many things that I did in my youth. I have not always led a perfect life,” El-Gamal, 37, said in a statement to the Daily News.

His most recent arrest was for a Sept. 10, 2005, assault on a barber who sublet a Manhattan apartment from El-Gamal’s brother, Sammy.

The brothers and another man went to the apartment that afternoon to retrieve back rent from Mark Vassiliev, criminal and civil court records show.

El-Gamal allegedly cursed at Vassiliev, called him the Arabic curse word “sharmouta” and punched him in the face, breaking his nose and cheekbones.

When he was arrested, El-Gamal denied he socked Vassiliev, but conceded, “[Vassiliev’s] face could have run into my hand,” court papers say.

“I am in real estate. I’m rich. Why would I do this? Why would I jeopardize my career? I’m not a thug,” he told cops.

He was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment. Charges were dropped in 2007 after Vassiliev sued.

El-Gamal eventually settled the civil case for $15,000 – and the 2008 negotiations provided a glimpse into his finances.

Vassiliev’s lawyer, Erik L. Gray, said there was no indication El-Gamal had assets beyond a $1.1 million upper West Side pad he owned with his wife.

Even after El-Gamal inked the deal, he was slow to pay and the matter ended up in mediation – where his lawyer, Marshall Isaacs, told Gray there were money problems.

“He had told me [El-Gamal] was struggling financially and was having trouble coming up with the payment,” Gray said. “It was based on the fact that he was in real estate and the real estate market was depressed.”

El-Gamal agreed to fork over $1,360 in interest and fees but paid up in installments, Gray said.

If his 2008 cries of poverty were genuine, El-Gamal experienced a dramatic reversal of fortune a year later, scoring a $39 million mortgage to buy a W. 27th St. commercial building.

He had a partner, Egyptian-born businessman Hisham Elzanaty, who co-signed the loan. Elzanaty denied to discuss his dealings with El-Gamal.

In a deposition for the Vassiliev suit, El-Gamal testified he worked as a waiter from 1997 to 2001 when he “moved onto greener pastures.”

In 2002, he became a commercial real estate broker and started his own company, Soho Properties, a year later.

El-Gamal began amassing a property portfolio in 2007, snatching up and managing apartment buildings in Harlem and Washington Heights.

He bought the property where he plans to build a $100 million Islamic cultural center, two blocks from Ground Zero, for nearly $5 million in July 2009.

The son of a bank executive, El-Gamal has said he turned to Islam after 9/11 and that his religious awakening followed a troubled youth.

He pleaded guilty in 1994, 1998 and 1999 to disorderly conduct in Manhattan.

He also pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in 1990, DWI in 1992 and attempted petit larceny in 1993, Nassau County prosecutors said.

Details were unavailable, but a source confirmed a 1994 arrest for patronizing a prostitute.

      El-Gamal says he’s a different man now.

  17. Over a month ago, a “progressive” commenter left the following talking points, which we left in moderation for over a month as we challenged the commenter to defend them. They never responded to the challenge, so their comment has been officially trashed. However, I still want to make a point about the unfounded claims the commenter made. Here was their talking points…

The reasons you state for why Muslim nations suck is why so many Muslims come here to America. You know, for the FREEDOM. Also, shouldn’t we hold ourselves to a higher standard than theocracies ruled by egomaniacal religious leaders? I’m not sure what civil rights violations in Saudi Arabia have to do with the rights of people here in the US.

As for the “America is a Christian nation” thing, this is a monstrous misconception. First of all, most of the founding fathers were deists, not christian. Early American policy was to publicly decry any enforcement or denial of religion by the government, this whole “Christian nation” bit is a purely modern phenomenon. To quote the constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

The government can’t say ANYTHING about ANY religion, good or bad, at all, ever. Muslims can build religious buildings wherever they please in this country, as can anyone else, and the government can’t say boo.

Finally, I’d just like to say that what you are doing here is advocating tyranny by majority, with your little online poll (note-take a high school statistics class, internet polls are probably the worst source of information next to anecdotal evidence). The government’s role is, yes to promote the will of the majority, but also to protect the rights of minorities. Even if 89% of the nation wanted this mosque out the government would still be obligated to uphold the right to freedom of religion.

Freedom means that sometimes people are allowed to do things you don’t like. Get over it.

    • I edited that commenters comment with the following:

      [Note from Red Pill:
      WTPOTUS Admins,
Please leave this comment in moderation until the commenter can provide evidence to back up his claim.
UPDATE: Or, until September 15th. If no response by that point, I’ll send it to trash myself.

      [commenter’s name],
You claim “most of the founding fathers were deists, not christian.
Prove your claim, and I will release your comment from moderation.
List the individuals who signed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and for each name, say whether they were deist, Christian, or other.
You must show that a majority were deist.
And I will show you are wrong.

    • And Miri added..

      [Note from Miri:
These are current leftist obot talking points. Dana Loesch, on her radio show, was deluged with similar comments from the mosque supporters. She Googled the talking points and found them on Daily Kos. The guy’s exact words. She excoriated him. Told him the least he could do was not just regurgitate what he read online. Think for himself, ya know? In any case, he said the same thing–that most of the Founders weren’t Christian. A complete lie. We are under no obligation here at WTPOTUS to approve comments by someone who pretends to debate honestly, but who provides nothing to back up his contentions and also who ridicules us. Alinsky 101. “take a high school statistics class”? I think this obot will “get over it” if we ignore him. But that’s just my opinion. If you want to contend with him, have at it. ]

    • I repeat the challenge to any other leftist who claims that the Founders were “mostly deists”…

List the individuals who signed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and for each name, say whether they were deist, Christian, or other.

You must show that a majority were deist.

And I will show you are wrong.

  18. It is difficult to believe that the MAJORITY of Muslims have come to our country seeking freedom of religion. Of course there are some that ran from the fundamentalists, but there have been an increasing number that have come to this country, NOT to assimilate, but to remain separate from the American population. Their goal is the goal of many ISLAMISTS that seek to have ISLAM to dominate the globe. They stay in their own communities, often do not learn English, procreate, and intend to institute Sharia Law. Those that wait, are extremely patient, and have a stealth agenda…..

  19. In fact, the proposed structure is known in Islamic history as a rabat — literally a connector. The first rabat appeared at the time of the Prophet.

The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word “raid”). The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.

After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat — or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided. The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare for future razzias. Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires. After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.

It is no coincidence that Islamists routinely use the term ghazva to describe the 9/11 attacks against New York and Washington. The terrorists who carried out the attack are referred to as ghazis or shahids (martyrs).

Thus, building a rabat close to Ground Zero would be in accordance with a tradition started by the Prophet. To all those who believe and hope that the 9/11 ghazva would lead to the destruction of the American “Great Satan,” this would be of great symbolic value.

Faced with the anger of New Yorkers, the promoters of the project have started calling it the Cordoba House, echoing President Obama’s assertion that it would be used to propagate “moderate” Islam.

The argument is that Cordoba, in southern Spain, was a city where followers of Islam, Christianity and Judaism lived together in peace and produced literature and philosophy.

In fact, Cordoba’s history is full of stories of oppression and massacre, prompted by religious fanaticism. It is true that the Muslim rulers of Cordoba didn’t force their Christian and Jewish subjects to accept Islam. However, non-Muslims could keep their faith and enjoy state protection only as dhimmis (bonded ones) by paying a poll tax in a system of religious apartheid.

If whatever peace and harmony that is supposed to have existed in Cordoba were the fruit of “Muslim rule,” the subtext is that the United States would enjoy similar peace and harmony under Islamic rule.

A rabat in the heart of Manhattan would be of great symbolic value to those who want a high-profile, “in your face” projection of Islam in the infidel West.

Born in Kuwait in 1948, Feisal Abdul Rauf is the Imam of Masjid al-Farah, a New York City mosque. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Columbia University. His father was the late Muhammad Abdul Rauf.

In 1990 Feisal Abdul Rauf became affiliated with the al-Farah Mosque (which was founded in 1981 by the Turkish Sheikh Muzaffer Ozakin) in lower Manhattan. Seven years later, he established the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), a New-York based nonprofit organization which has been run by Rauf’s wife, Daisy Khan, since 2005. (ASMA’s original name was the American Sufi Muslim Association.)

Rauf is a permanent trustee of an Islamic Cultural Center (ICC) which his father founded in New York City. Until September 28, 2001 — seventeen days after 9/11 — the ICC employed Imam Sheik Muhammad Gemeaha, who later would say that “only the Jews” could have perpetrated the 9/11 attacks; that if Americans only knew about this Jewish culpability, “they would have done to Jews what Hitler did”; and that Jews “disseminate corruption in the land” and spread “heresy, homosexuality, alcoholism, and drugs.” Gemeaha’s successor at the ICC, Omar Saleem Abu-Namous, said there was no “conclusive evidence” proving that Muslims were responsible for 9/11.

    • Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rauf (1917-2004), was an Egyptian contemporary of Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. He was a professor at Al-Azhar University until 1948; in 1965 he moved to New York, where he purchased – with $1.3 million in funding from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Libya – a plot of Manhattan real estate to serve as a site for a large Islamic Cultural Center (ICC) whose construction was bankrolled by sources in 46 Islamic nations — all members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Construction of the ICC did not begin until 1984. Alyssa Lappen explains the reason for that long delay: “[Muhammad] Rauf withheld information on the Islamic donors until 1984. Only after wrangling for permits for 20 years did Rauf begin construction — at that point, funding sources no longer mattered as construction became a fait accompli.”
