USA Traffics in Human Slavery Says Obama Administration

Photo “A 9-year-old girl toils under the hot sun, making bricks from morning to night, seven days a week. She was trafficked with her entire family from Bihar, one of the poorest and most underdeveloped states in India, and sold to the owner of a brick-making factory. With no means of escape, and unable to speak the local language, the family is isolated and lives in terrible conditions.”

The attack on America is now being done by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who included the United States in the list of nations that traffic in human slavery.  This is the first time that the US has been included on the list.  If Human Rights and human trafficking were so important, why haven’t these issues been faced and brought up with the countries that are the primary offenders during her tenure as SOS and Obama’s as president?  Why hasn’t this problem been on the front pages of our newspapers?  Is there any question about her leftist leanings?

Would you like to see how they decided to add the United States in their report?  The report should show us citizens how our country traffics in slaves and its resulting bondage of those people.  Is this report as damning as the one that Janet Napolitano used to label “right wing extremists” in her Report?  Now Hillary is labeling the US as nation that traffics in Human Slavery.  Are you as offended as I am?

According to a 2004 report by the National Human Rights Center (NHRC) in Berkeley, California, there were about 10,000 forced laborers in the U.S.  Of those,  one-third were domestic servants and some were children.  The government only keeps track of survivors of trafficking so the number is an approximate number.  In the  Attorney General’s Annual Report to Congress on U.S. Government Activities to Combat Trafficking in Persons in  2005, an estimated 14,000 people were being trafficked into the United States each year.  Since trafficking is illegal, accurate statistics are difficult.  According to Wiki, The United States Justice Department estimated that the number might be as high as 17,500 people a year, but it is unclear how they calculated that number.  Even more unclear is how those estimates were increased enough to place the US on the list.  Most articles about human trafficking in the US are still using the numbers from the 2004 report by the NHRC in Berkeley.  If that facility is getting federal grants, why haven’t the numbers been updated to reflect the significant changes in the last six years that helped put the US on the list?

Are these crimes being investigated by the illustrious Eric Holder and the Department of Justice?  Isn’t one of the Secretary of State’s departments responsible for visas into the US?   An immediate investigation should be begun in updating how immigrants are allowed into the US and how these “slaves” are being brought into the country.  What goes unanswered in the Report is why the US is now listed.  Does the Obama administration want us to be equal to other countries that really do traffic in enslaving humans, or moving humans across borders like Mexico.  I, for one, would like examples of why the US was added to the list and what is being done to prevent it; if, indeed, it is so prevalent that the US made the list for the first time in her history!   A gallery of images,  that includes the one above, is available at the end of this article.  There were no photos of  any “American Slaves.”

Secretary of State Clinton included the U.S. for the FIRST time on the State Department’s list of nations “trafficking in persons” for forced labor ranging from farm workers to pole dancers and prostitutes.

“There are Americans, unfortunately, who are held in slavery,” Clinton said in releasing the annual report on nations who promote or permit the international trade in human beings for profit.

The report said the main source countries for forced labor in the U.S. were Thailand, Mexico, the Philippines, Haiti and India.

“The obvious reality is that we, too, are a source country,” said Luis C. de Baca, ambassador-at-Large for trafficking in persons.

In the report, the U.S. was singled out as “source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children subjected to trafficking in persons, specifically forced labor, debt bondage, and forced prostitution.”

The report added that “Trafficking occurs primarily for labor and most commonly in domestic servitude, agriculture, manufacturing, janitorial services, hotel services, construction, health and elder care, hair and nail salons, and strip club dancing.”

Dear Reader:

I am pleased to celebrate and reflect upon the last decade of progress identifying and fighting the phenomenon of modern slavery. Ten years ago, the United Nations negotiated the international standards against trafficking in persons and the United States enacted the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Since then, the international community has witnessed tangible progress in the effort to end the scourge of trafficking in persons. More victims have been protected, more cases have been successfully prosecuted, and more instances of this human rights abuse have been prevented.

Countries that once denied the existence of human trafficking now work to identify victims and help them overcome the trauma of modern slavery, as well as hold responsible those who enslave others. Although progress has undoubtedly been made against this global phenomenon, there is more work to do. This annual assessment is an opportunity to diagnose the world’s efforts to  implement the “3P” paradigm of prevention, protection, and prosecution. Based on lessons learned, we must work together with civil society, the corporate sector, and across governments through the “fourth P” – partnership – toward a world in which every man, woman, and child is safe from the hands of traffickers and can realize their God-given potential.

The 10th annual Trafficking in Persons Report outlines the continuing challenges across the globe, including in the United States. The Report, for the first time, includes a ranking of the United States based on the same standards to which we hold other countries. The United States takes its first-ever ranking not as a reprieve but as a responsibility to strengthen global efforts against modern slavery, including those within America. This human rights abuse is universal, and no one should claim immunity from its reach or from the responsibility to confront it.

This year’s report highlights several key trends, including the suffering of women and children in involuntary domestic servitude, the challenges and successes in identifying and protecting victims, and the need to include anti-trafficking policies in our response to natural disasters, as was evident in the aftermath of this year’s earthquake in Haiti.

Ending this global scourge is an important policy priority for the United States. This fluid phenomenon continues to affect cultures, communities, and countries spanning the globe. Through partnerships, we can confront it head-on and lift its victims from slavery to freedom.

Fact Sheet
June 14, 2010

“The victims of modern slavery have many faces. They are men and women, adults and children.Yet, all are denied basic human dignity and freedom. … All too often suffering from horrible physical and sexual abuse, it is hard for them to imagine that there might be a place of refuge.”

— President Barack Obama

The photographs in this gallery were taken to illustrate the State Department’s annual report on “Trafficking in Persons,” required under the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000.  This report serves as the primary diplomatic tool through which the U.S. Government encourages other countries to help fight forced labor, sexual exploitation, and modern-day slavery.

  1. The Slave Mentality
    By Kevin Jackson, American Thinker

When slavery is implemented by force, it is certainly a despicable institution. But is it any less despicable when the slaves are there by choice?

The interesting point about slavery is that whether it’s forced or voluntary, the master is responsible for the slaves. The master feeds, clothes, and cares for his slaves, some masters better than others. But masters also manipulate their slaves. Eventually, all slaves start to notice the dichotomy between their lives and the lives of their masters.

There is an urban legend of a slave owner named Willie Lynch who recognized that slaves needed to be controlled. In a purported speech he gave to slave owners in 1712, he laid out a strategy that he said would keep slaves (blacks) in check for three hundred years. This strategy of control replaced hanging rebellious slaves with using fear, distrust, and envy. Lynch supposedly said, “[D]istrust is stronger than trust and envy is stronger than adulation, respect, or admiration.”

Another thing the likely fictional Lynch went on to say in his speech was,

Don’t forget you must pitch the young Black male against the old Black male … You must use the dark skin slaves versus the light skin slaves … You must use the female versus the male … You must also have your white servants and overseers distrust all Blacks, but it is necessary that your slaves trust and depend on us. They must love, respect, and trust only us.

Whether Lynch existed or not is unimportant. Whoever it was, the true author of this strategy was right in his approach for the continuing servitude of blacks and in establishing a slave mentality in our race. All that was subject to change is exactly who the master is at any given time.

Regardless of the time, however, one thing we do know is that the master was a man of means, and it doesn’t matter how he came to financial prominence. The one obvious truism is that the master lived comparatively lavishly, and even more so because of his slaves.

Think of all you could do if you had the free availability of somebody doing your cooking, cleaning, running errands, sewing, watching your children, performing chores, and so on.

Then when the lean times came, you could occasionally loan out your slaves for barter or even to create extra income for your home. What an amazing life that would be! Your complete focus could be on personal or creative endeavors.

Are things much different today? Not really. I contend that the government is the 21st-century master — new and improved. And the new Master has a monopoly on slavery. That monopoly on slavery has allowed for enough creativity in the government that all the government seems to occupy its time with is considering, “How can I get more productivity out of my slaves?”

During lean times in the old days, the master would work slaves incrementally harder and harder, providing them incrementally less and less. Longer work hours, cramped quarters, and leftover food, all for the slaves to live their lives of quiet desperation until the next day, and the next.

Slaves would finally become desperate with hunger. When the master ordered a pig slaughtered, the entrails, feet, hide, and head were all that didn’t go to the master. Yet nothing went to waste, with slaves eating everything on a pig, “from the rooter to the tooter!”

Slaves ate pig’s feet, skin (pork rinds), or “chitterlings” (pig intestine), while the master ate pork chops, pork steaks, and pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon.

For slaves, minutes dragged into hours that limped lazily into days, weeks, and months, as they slowly developed the “slave mentality.”

In my book, I described the worst kind of prison: the prison of the mind. Slaves then and now are more captive than prisoners in SuperMax facilities — because the prison of the mind has no need for walls or guards. Escape is as simple as walking away, yet few people leave.

There is little argument that blacks are the biggest sufferers of the slave mentality today. Most blacks believe the government will take care of us from the cradle to the grave. What they don’t know is that the government carefully guards that ratio of black votes versus black sycophants, employing stealth weapons like placing abortion clinics mainly in black neighborhoods, ignoring crime in black neighborhoods, and essentially ushering blacks to prison.

The government has not forgotten the lesson of the Willie Lynch, pitting black liberals against black conservatives. Use fear, distrust, and envy.

Many think that the “slave mentality” is for only blacks or the poor, but they are wrong. How many things are all Americans conditioned to accept without question or protestation? Once you buy your home, the government demands a property tax, and you have been conditioned to pay it. Is there a time when enough taxes have been paid, and you can own your home outright?

Perhaps we have willfully accepted illegal immigration, only now getting to point of making it an issue thanks to Arizona. Perhaps all but Arizona have bought into the new terminology of “undocumented worker.” Do all illegal immigrants work? Are some of them undocumented criminals or even undocumented terrorists?

One could educate oneself out of the slave mentality if it weren’t for the fact that we begin acquiring the slave mentality in government schools.

It is mandatory that children attend school in America, with only a small percentage of kids who opt out of government schools in search of alternatives. Still, our master takes tax money from all and gives it to the 70% of the students who attend government schools. The schools get paid by the master for attendance, not results. So attendance is enforced, but results are dismissed as arbitrary. Everybody passes; just show up.

In our slave mentality, we have become comfortable with the idea that the fox is guarding the henhouse. Teachers control the schools through their unions. Our tax dollars pay the salaries of teachers, who pay money to their unions, who lobby for the rules. Circular dysfunction.

The 30% of the kids who are not educated in government schools get none of the funding, yet ironically produce the best results! Yet, our master laments, if only he had more of our money.

Americans have all been enslaved little by little for many years. There can be no doubt that the federal government is the new slave master, something the Founding Fathers warned us against.

We have all made the unconscious choice to be slaves. Now the question is, can we make the conscious choice to leave the plantation and truly become our own masters?

If we can, then 2010 will truly be Emancipation II — the year everybody gets freed!

  2. I worked on a new story where a clothing manufacturer was busted by the California Department of Labor for having a workforce made up of enslaved young people from China who thought they were being hired to work in the US only to discover that their employer charged them huge amounts of money for their transportation to the US and huge amounts of money for their room and board once they were in the US.

They were enslaved by the clothing manufacturer because of their debts, which could never be paid back with the wages they were paid.

The Department of Labor representative started to cry while I was interviewing him.

    • The clothing manufacturer was a crook who lied to the young people to get them to the US and to enslave them.

  3. Sleuth: I remember those stories. In nearly every instance that Hillary cites, it’s ILLEGAL activity or ILLEGAL immigration that leads to the “enslavement”.

She probably includes prostitutes held in “bondage” by their pimps, to ramp up her statistics.

Anything to put us on the same level as places like Saudi Arabia where basically EVERY woman is a slave.

Cultural relativism gone to the extreme. Accordingly, I’m EXTREMELY offended, Bridgette.

This is Obama’s doing, no doubt about it. To make us seem as bad as all of the truly murderous countries in this world.

This is a lie and an insult to all Americans.

These “slaves” wouldn’t want to come to the U.S. in the first place, if they didn’t know already that this country is exceptional (or used to be, B. O.–before Obama).

This is yet another reason why illegal immigration needs to be stopped cold.

Refusing to stop illegal immigration is the only way the rest of the world can possibly blame the U.S. for human trafficking.

It’s illegal, but our government looks the other way and lets it go on. They let it continue, so it’s AS IF it’s legal. So, Obama IS responsible for human trafficking. Right? (It’s part of his ancestry, after all. Slave owners, slave traders, NEVER slaves themselves.)

Were those Chinese clothing manufacturing slaves here legally? I doubt it. They paid thousands to be smuggled into the country illegally.

Illegally. What part of illegal doesn’t Hillary understand? It’s not as if it’s part of the American legal code (think Sharia law).

Hillary says, “There are Americans, unfortunately, who are held in slavery.”

Americans? Uh, unless these are Americans who were enslaved while visiting other countries or who were kidnapped here to be sold into white slavery in countries like Saudi Arabia, then it’s more than likely that any “slaves” here in the U.S. (more like indentured servants)–it’s more than likely that NONE of them are

They’re illegal immigrants smuggled into the country and forced to work off the fee they paid to the coyotes.

The solution is to enforce the effing borders and the effing laws against being here illegally. Simple, Hillary.

Enforce the federal laws so states like Arizona don’t have to do it for you. What’s your plan to change this situation and to get us off that list, Hillary? Huh? What’s your plan?

The ball’s in your court, Hillary. You’re part of the administration.

Enforce the effing LAWS and the Constitution. Stop this human trafficking. Otherwise, you’re the proponent of slavery. Not the rest of us.

btw, Hillary. What are you doing about the plight of every woman living in slavery in Islamic countries? Huh?

Check out Pam Geller’s blog for details of the daily atrocities perpetrated by GOVERNMENTS that you attempt to make us morally equivalent with.

It’s a disgrace. You’re a disgrace and an embarrassment to women (and feminists) everywhere. Laura Bush did more for women in Afghanistan than you have.

What’s your track record, Hil? Putting on a veil and kowtowing to the asshat leaders of these terror states?

What an example you set for our young girls. Aren’t you proud?

I wonder what Chelsea thinks when she sees you putting on that veil.

    • Hear, Hear Miri!

Everything you said I agree with. To put our country in with the likes of the Muslim countries, Africa, India, and China where these atrocities occur infuriates me. It is so true, if there are slaves, they came in illegally and beholden to their masters. That still doesn’t make us a country of human slavery…it means it happens, but is certainly not condoned by our citizens.

I found no plan to stop it and I didn’t find any documentation to say the exact numbers …it is an approximate number. How did this number rise so much that we should be included on the list? All the facts I found were about other countries, not the USA.

Who will question Hillary and when? Remember she hasn’t brought up the subject with China nor any other country since she took office..they don’t want to offend them! Remember Pelosi didn’t bring up the subject either when she visited China. (I believe it was China).

      • Miri, I have had this on my mind all night. I think Hillary did just open the door to alot with this statement.
Think about the connections in all of the story of Natalee Holloway, Aruba, Human trafficing, illegal immigration, our borders, Joran van der Sloot, his father’s death, his father’s position, Natalee’s family importance, new victim Stephany Flores of Peru, 21 year old daughter of a presidential candidate that had just won $ 4,000 in a Lima casino. Natalie had been on vacation in Aruba, and now her mom Beth Twitty has a relationship with dad of Jon Bonet Ramsey; John Ramsey. There is also the part of this story that involves the FBI and money to Joran for info on Natalee’s body location ? No, this is a huge story. Az. is a hot kidnap spot now, so Hillary may mean human slavery going out of our borders not into our borders alone. Those kidnapped are going somewhere, and how do they reflect in the numbers ?
And also, why should she bring it all up with China ? It is not their business or problem, it is ours. They have their share of the corrupt cake to work on.
I am glad she mentioned this. I am also glad she mentioned this to us. Public servant and all of that. I am truly hoping she is planning to continue discussing this with us. This statement is very important I think. We shall see…

          • From Wiki above :

This article is about the New Orleans district. For other things named “Storyville” see Storyville (disambiguation).
Storyville was the red-light district of New Orleans, Louisiana, from 1897 through 1917.

Locals usually simply referred to the area as The District. The nickname Storyville was in reference to city alderman Sidney Story, who wrote the legislation setting up the district. It was bounded by Iberville, Basin, St. Louis, and Robertson streets.[1] Most of this former district is now occupied by the Iberville Housing Projects, two blocks inland from the French Quarter.

One of the few surviving buildings from Storyville, 2005 photograph. 100 years earlier, the “New Image Supermarket” building housed Frank Early’s saloon, where Tony Jackson regularly played. The District was set up to limit prostitution to one area of town where authorities could monitor and regulate the practice. In the late 1890s, the New Orleans city government studied the legalized red light districts of northern German and Dutch ports and set up Storyville based on such models. Between 1895 and 1915, “blue books” were published in Storyville. These books were guides to prostitution for visitors to the district’s services including house descriptions, prices, particular services and the “stock” each house had to offer. The Storyville blue-books were inscribed with the motto: “Order of the Garter: Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense (Shame to Him Who Evil Thinks.)”

Establishments in Storyville ranged from cheap “cribs” to more expensive houses up to a row of elegant mansions along Basin Street for well-heeled customers (the term “crib” originated in San Francisco’s red-light district). New Orleans’ cribs were 50-cent joints, whereas the more expensive establishments could cost up to $10. Black and white brothels coexisted in Storyville; however, black men were barred from legally purchasing services rendered in either black or white brothels. Nonetheless, brothels with black prostitutes serving blacks openly flourished with the full knowledge of the police and other local authorities a short distance uptown from Storyville proper.[citation needed]

The District was adjacent to one of the main railway stations where travelers arrived in the city and became a noted attraction.

Jazz did not originate in Storyville (it started off as a New Orleans style of music played all over town), but it flourished there as in the rest of the city. Many out-of-town visitors first heard this style of music there before the music spread north.[2]. Some people from elsewhere continue to associate Storyville with the origins of jazz. It was tradition in the better Storyville establishments to hire a piano player and sometimes small bands.

The District was closed down by the federal government — specifically Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels — as a “bad influence” during World War I in 1917.[3] The closure was over the strong objections of the New Orleans city government; New Orleans Mayor Martin Behrman pronounced that, “[y]ou can make [prostitution] illegal, but you can’t make it unpopular.”[citation needed] After 1917, when Storyville was shut down, separate black and white underground dens of prostitution emerged around the city.

The District continued in a more subdued state as an entertainment center through the 1920s, with various dance halls, cabarets and restaurants. Speakeasies, gambling joints and prostitution were also regularly found in the area despite repeated police raids.

Almost all the buildings in the former District were demolished in the 1930s to clear the land for the building of the Iberville Projects. While much of the area contained old and decayed buildings, the old mansions along Basin Street, some of the finest structures in the city, were also leveled. The city government wished to do all it could to blot the notorious district from memory. Basin Street was even renamed “North Saratoga” (although the historic name was returned some 20 years later).

A collection of photographs by E. J. Bellocq depicting Storyville prostitutes was published in 1971 under the title Storyville Portraits.

Films with fictional portrayals of Storyville have included New Orleans (1947), Pretty Baby (1978), and Storyville (1992).

I think maybe she wants to be in charge of securing the borders to enforce immigration LAWS and stop the human slavery of ILLEGALS here I That’s it huh ? Maybe she wants this responsibility and this is why she stepped up to the plate with this comment. Maybe we should all write to thank her for bringing this up, and ask her to promptly handle this problem huh ?
Lemme start my letter….Everyone, mail Hil and thank her for stepping up to the plate to enforce our immigration laws and stop illegal human slavery of illegal aliens ! I am so thrilled she has taken on this responsibility to fix our borders. Everyone tell Hillary thank you ! Is she not cool or what ?

Sooo cute and sooo smart !

    Quote from below post –

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery.

Barack OBAMA, in his Cairo speech, said: “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s story.”

    Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

    Declaration of Independence?

    Bill of Rights?

    Didn’t think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country’s freedom from England? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as “pug nosed slaves.” Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family’s “rich Islamic heritage,” doesn’t it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country’s Woman’s Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the ‘hajib’ or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women’s rights, aren’t they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi’s in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren’t flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very “moderate” Muslims who’s asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the “rich heritage” Muslims have here in America.

Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 – the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That, Mr. Obama is the “Muslim heritage” in America.

    • From above:

      Dear Martin,

Even before the Secretary of the Navy proscribed Storyville as a vice area, that section of town was declining. Where 2,000 women once held court, only 450 were left in 1917.

On the opening day of Storyville on Jan. 1, 1898, prostitutes celebrated with a spectacular parade. The 20-block area just behind the French Quarter originally was called “the District.” Since it was the plan of Alderman Sidney Story, however, he got the credit and, much to his chagrin, the newly created section of town was named in his honor.

Storyville thrived. The gaudy, bawdy, plush digs of “Countess” Willie Piazza, Lulu White and Josie Arlington became famous. But the party came to an end two decades later when a wartime federal order meant to eradicate prostitution near naval bases shut down the district.

It was many years before Storyville became just a story. The bordellos, saloons and “cribs” where women plied their trade soon became low-income housing, and the district was a prime target for demolition. In the late 1930s, there were about 750 families living in the area, and by January 1940, about half of them had been moved in preparation for construction of the Iberville project, which was meant to house white people. Another housing project — the Lafitte — was built for African-Americans.

After the Navy shut down the district, the famous places burned or were torn down one by one. Tom Anderson’s saloon and Josie Arlington’s place fell to the wrecking ball and became parking lots.

In its heyday, Lulu White’s Mahogany Hall was a ritzy brothel that has been immortalized in “Mahogany Hall Stomp,” a jazz standard recorded by Louis Armstrong and others. It was the last of the famous old joints left standing in the block, but for years it had been used as a warehouse for a Canal Street department store. The end came for Mahogany Hall (235 Basin St.) on Nov. 22, 1949, when it too was demolished to make room for a parking garage.

Basin Street provided employment for musical greats such as Jelly Roll Morton, Buddy Bolden, King Oliver and Armstrong. Jazz historians made a bid to save Mahogany Hall, where many jazz musicians had performed, but preservation of this part of New Orleans’ history was not a priority for City Council members or folks who advocated the respectable side of American life. Basin Street was cleaned up in the 1940s and the neighborhood became home to legitimate businesses from Canal Street to the St. Louis Cemetery.

Today, only three forlorn structures from the Storyville era remain: a bit of Lulu White’s Saloon at 237 Basin St., Frank Early’s “My Place” Saloon at 1214 Bienville St., and Joe Victor’s Saloon at St. Louis and Villere streets. Frank Early’s “My Place” Saloon is famous because it was where composer and pianist Tony Jackson, who lived over the saloon, wrote the still-popular song “Pretty Baby.”

In its efforts to “erase its own history” as you say, the city even changed the name Basin Street to North Saratoga Street in 1921, although it changed it back to Basin Street years later.

      • A comment on link above:

It is said that many of the properties were owned by upstanding citizens who lived uptown….you may have to do your own research as to who that was. Don’t know if the TP purged pics, but many exist in the the fifty-year-old book “Storyville, New Orleans” by Al Rose, still in print. The book “Nell Kimball, her life as an American Madam” is out of print but found inexpensively in Amazon, etc.

        • Another comment from link above:

I have heard that most of the real estate that composed “the district” was owned by the archdiocese and Tulane University. Also that all photos from the times-picayune morgue representing it were purged. Does anyone know if any of this is true?

I am thinking about these numbers Bridgetteb..and what the really mean exactly..There is something to this that is bigger…Thinking…

    • In the Attorney General’s Annual Report to Congress on U.S. Government Activities to Combat Trafficking in Persons in 2005, an estimated 14,000 people were being trafficked into the United States each year

Into the USA…not out of…Wondering if there are numbers of traffic out of the USA…hum..

      • Years ago in the Dallas area we were told that young girls were being kidnapped and taken to Mexico to become prostitutes. Would that be considered kidnapping or human slavery? Would that say it is happening in the US?

None of the reports or articles I read indicated that the humans involved were immigrants or emigrants. Nor were the numbers attributed to it being a common occurence in the USA.

  6. The latest Lame Cherry posting is interesting, in a different way:

Is there an Axelrod in the House
This blog is so pleased to know that Prime Minister Obama, the scourge of Grated Britain, has extorted 20 billion dollars from Barack Petroleum for any person or business who has suffered hardship due to Obama’s Gusher.
I am currently deciding how to put in my several million dollar request as I certainly would have been the gal on the moon by now if not for the last weeks this Gusher had not delayed my super secret project to make me famous.

    Thank you Miss !

  7. Rosemary Woodhouse

I am asking this of “the regulars” of this WTPOTUS, drKate, and where this all began for most of us, TexasDarlin’s blog…I know many, if not most of you, began this roller coaster ride as Hillary supporters: PUMAS. In light of Hillary’s recent pronouncement (which she apparently condones) that the DOJ will sue Arizona over their immigration law, do you still support her, or do you see her as a complicit Marxist enabler?

Word on the street is a deal will be stuck with Biden wherein he will step down and the 2012 ticket will be Obama/Clinton. Smart politics. Meet the new dictator, same as the old dictator.

Then again, perhaps I am being presumptuous in believing most of you are no longer Hillary fans.

    • Rosemary,

I don’t really fall in the target audience of your question(*), but I agree with your conclusions.

(*) I was not a Hillary-supporting PUMA, but I was raised in a blue state Democratic family, and my parents and siblings all voted for Obama. I started voting Republican several years ago after I became a born-again Christian… the scales fell off my eyes then. There is a lot that I could say about that, but I’ll limit this response to what you said in your comment.

When one reviews the real quotes in the People’s Cube Quiz: Which Collectivist Said It?, Hillary’s quotes show that she is just as much a collectivist as the rest of them.

      Here’s where I think the difference lies…

When the Soviet Union collapsed financially, China rose in power and world influence. I believe that the Clintons aligned themselves with the Chinese. I believe Obama has lifelong connections (both indirectly and directly) with the Russians. I believe that Hillary’s initial gameplan was to have Obama be her VP, and then he would be in line to become President after she served. It was not until the Iowa caucuses that Hillary realized that Obama was pulling off a “coup”. By then, though, it was a little late for her to start fighting a battle with the man she thought would be her VP. Both the Russians and the Chinese have vested interests in having influence/control over influential people in our government. There is a big power struggle between those two camps.

Anyway, I don’t think that having Chinese communists “rule” us is much better than having Russian communists “rule” us.

I’ll be interested to see what former and current Hillary fans have to say in response to your comment.

      • “It’s time to put the common good, the national interest, ahead of individuals.”

“It’s time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, and for the few, and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity.”

“We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good. ”

“I am a fan of the social policies that you find in Europe.”

“I hope we will come together as a nation and do whatever it takes to keep guns away from people who have no business with them.”

“We have to build a political consensus, and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own turf in order to create this common ground.”

“We need to be as well prepared to defend ourselves against public health dangers, as we should be to defend ourselves against any foreign danger.”

“I had a few ideas about health care, and I’ve learned a few lessons since then, but I haven’t given up the goal.”

“Too many people have made too much money.”

“I certainly think the free-market has failed.”

“(We) can’t just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people.”

“It’s time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector in the entire economy, that they are being watched.”

“The unfettered free market has been the most radically destructive force in American life in the last generation.”

“The money has to go to the federal government because the federal government will spend that money better than the private sector will spend it.”

“I will fight against the division politics of revenge and retribution.”

“I am particularly horrified by the use of propaganda and the manipulation of the truth and the revision of history.”

“Why do I have to keep proving to people that I am not a liar?”

Those aren’t Obama quotes. They are Hillary quotes.

  8. Rosemary Woodhouse

Thanks for your reply, itookteredpill. Gog and Megog, eh?

As an inconsequential aside (but because I am punctilious) I note that I initially typed “the regulars” *of this blog*, realized I was going to copy it to drKate and TD’s site, intended to change “this blog” to WTPOTUS, but in my haste, neglected to delete the word “this”. Now the question is do I bother “‘splainin’ ” on the other two blogs? 😀

    • Rosemary, to answer your question, I was never really a Hillary supporter. I simply saw her as the lesser of two weevils. Certainly better than the ominous Obama and at least Hillary loves her country.

I would prefer, if I had to pick a Clinton, to have Bill, to tell you the truth. If only we had Bill handling the oil spill, we wouldn’t see what we see today in the Gulf. I’m sure of that.

I was a GWB supporter, but I’m not a Republican. It nearly always comes down to the lesser of two weevils, which is a shame when you think about it. Could we ever have the pleasure of supporting a candidate, wholeheartedly, instead of by default?

Similarly, I have NO doubt that the Gulf situation would be vastly different with GWB in charge. Actually, IF Obama loved this country and WANTED to stop the disaster, he’d be calling in all the forces, including GWB and Cheney and Palin, all of whom know more about the oil business than he does. All of whom have more executive experience, too. All hands on deck, right? That’s the way it ought to be.

IF he loved this country. I don’t say “his” country because I don’t believe it IS his country, in more ways than one.

I held my nose and voted for McCain. I was at TDs blog because of mutual disdain for Obama; anger at the raw deal the Dems gave to Hillary (a woman, after all, and we gals need to stick together); and my admiration for the spunk exhibited by the PUMAs. Loved that name!

At TD’s, I was welcomed by a community of OPEN MINDED people, who let me speak my mind, despite our differences, and who might have often disagreed with me, but did so respectfully (the vast majority of the time).

I believe that the Tea Party movement is an offshoot of the PUMAs. Many would disagree, probably, but I think what happened to Hillary– the raw SEXISM involved, the dirty dealing, the corruption–turned many women into Independents AND into Tea Partiers.

We all here, at Dr. Kate’s, at TD’s, love our country. I believe that.

We’re Americans. First, we need to save our Republic. Then we can go back to squabbling amongst ourselves. 🙂

I couldn’t support Hillary today because she is too far left, too Marxist, too complicit (for whatever reason) in this disgraceful, shameful, traitorous administration. If, however, there were only a choice between Hillary and Obama (or another of his ilk) as with McCain, I’d have to hold my nose and vote for Hillary.

      • Hey Rosemary, Are we answering your questions as you thought we would ?
All very good remarks I might add..

  9. Rosemary
I am an old-timer on the TD blog and here. I am definitely an Imdependent in every sense of the term .

I really became interested in what was going on when I realized that everything was being hidden and suppressed. My background does not allow me to accept a “document” that is nothing more than a photocopy paper or a background consisting of self serving statements written in a fiction novel. The aburdity of someone rising to the Presidency on illusionary credentials was so preposterous to me that my research began.
at this time I have become a strict constitutionalist
because I have not seen any other form of government that compares on a moral, economic or social level.
At it’s core it is the INDIVIDUAL freedom that is most important. It is what we have fought for and died for……

  10. Rose,
I am forming my thoughts on your questions and will start with this. H/T Starla at Citizen Wells.

    Bill Cutting,

    Here Is An Article From:

Posted by Jim Hoft on Thursday, June 17, 2010, 4:36 PM

    Brewer-Christie ‘12

“Governor Jan Brewer just posted this press release following the news today from an Ecuadorean interview that the Obama Administration will sue the State of Arizona:

“Governor Jan Brewer Learns of President’s Directive to Sue Arizona via Ecuadorean Television Interview”

“PHOENIX – Governor Jan Brewer said she was stunned and angered to learn during an Ecuadorean television interview with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the Obama Administration had decided to sue Arizona over its recently passed anti-illegal immigration law, SB1070.

Video of the interview can be seen at Governor Brewer’s Arizona Border Security Information website:

Secretary Clinton announced during the interview on June 8th that President Obama has directed the U.S. Justice Department to “bring a lawsuit against the Arizona law.”

“This is no way to treat the people of Arizona,” said Governor Brewer. “To learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the Secretary of State is just outrageous. If our own government intends to sue our state to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation.”

This Article Continues Here At This Link:

    • From the Gateway Pundt article above :

Governor Brewer said, “I just visited with the President in the Oval Office about our differences over immigration policy, and the one firm understanding we had was that within two weeks he would provide details of his commitment to deploy National Guard troops to the border. While I am grateful that communications have taken place about a possible visit by Administration staff before the end of the month, there is not yet a confirmed date. More importantly, no information about additional troop and border security enhancements has been provided by the Obama Administration to the citizens of Arizona.”

Governor Brewer recently announced the creation of a legal defense fund for private contributions in defense of Arizona’s illegal immigration enforcement measures – Over $22,000 in contributions have been made to the border legal defense fund since its announcement yesterday evening. Over $26,000 had previously been sent unsolicited to the Governor for legal defense of Arizona, for an approximate total of $48,000 in the fund.

So, Rosemary, that means private citizens are paying out of their own pockets with no money, jobs, etc.. to try to enforce Arizona’s borders. What do you think I feel about that Rose ? I am so furious I want them all voted out. The raw sewage is too deep. We need fresh, NEW, clean representation. Period. It is too screwy Rose. Why would anyone in our government go after and not applaud a Gov. doing her job to keep US safe, protect our land and keep crime down ? It has no rational base unless those in charge do not have our interests in mind…
There is no other rational way to reach any other conclusion.
I have read for 2 years Rose, you know, as we all go back that far. The stories I have read are heartbreakers..I never thought it possible to loose one’s innocence later in life rather then earlier. I will never say never again. I lost my faith in any heroes. I still hope, but with an aching heart. I hope there are at least a few…Jan Brewer is trying to do her job as a Governor of Az. Now she is being fought by others for that ?
Other Governors should take a hard look as they will be next. This is horrible. Not normal or rational at all. This is upside down..For Americans at least..

    • Renee,

Reagan passed this in 1986. I dont see after reading it real quickly how stupid can over ride this. AZ is within their authority to UP HOLD THE LAW!!!!

Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 – 8 USC 1101 | find US law

      • I also found this –

        (Dont be surprised!)

Amnesty No. 6 – Late Amnesty of 2000

This amnesty was the result of an agreement between the Clinton White House, Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, and Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert. The “late amnesty” allowed all illegal aliens who had been part of lawsuits claiming that they have been illegal aliens since before 1982 and should have received amnesty under the 1986 IRCA amnesty but for various reasons were denied, to renew their request for the amnesty.

The Late Amnesty of 2000 is expected to apply to an estimated 400,000 illegal aliens.

        • I don’t know if this was on Fox earlier today but they were just saying on Fox that AZ has not gotten any, as in O ……. Of the National Guard troop’s Obama promised 3 weeks ago.

      • hummm…can everyone look at what Leza found and chime in please ? Good job Leza.

As a Christian, the Clinton’s made me queasy…Hill just didn’t “feel” real….and “pretty boy Bill” with his millions made me queasy and ill! I found the link to TD at Gretawire and never looked back. I too was amazed that someone soooo unknown and with sooo much hidden could be soooo close to the highest position in the WORLD !!!! Life has not been the same since..for any of us…WE WILL WIN ! Nothing remains hidden forever as soooo many of you here have uncovered and proven to be true ! The greatest site on the net in my opinion !!

Ditto also on the “love you all !!!” You guys along with our much-loved and very wise DrKate keeps us inspired that we will survive and conquer !!!

    • Rosemary,

    • Is Cuba Smuggling Terrorists into the U.S. through Mexico and Arizona?
Connecting a few dots: Last week, “Anthony Joseph Tracy, 35, was set free after pleading guilty to human smuggling charges … Tracy, a former informant two U.S. intelligence agencies, was collared at JFK Airport last January. He copped to helping 272 Somalis illegally enter the U.S. from Kenya through Cuba. … Tracy allegedly helped the Somalis get travel visas to Cuba. After traveling from Kenya to Dubai to Moscow to Cuba, they then went to South America before entering the United States through the border in Mexico.”

By Humberto Fontova at American Thinker

When Fidel Castro (whose regime jailed political prisoners at a higher rate than Stalin’s and murdered them at a higher rate than pre-war Hitler’s) recently slammed Arizona’s SB 1070 as “a brutal violation of human rights,” few Cuba-watchers took notice.

Alas, cues from the Democratic/MSM teleprompter probably didn’t prompt Castro’s recent snipes against Arizona’s SB 1070. Instead, Governor Brewer’s law probably stung him hard — and right where it hurts most.
Don’t look for this anywhere in the U.S. media, but last week Cancun’s former mayor, Gregorio Sánchez, who was also running for governor of Mexico’s state of Quintana Roo (which includes Cancun and the Caribbean “Mexican Riviera”), was arrested and charged with a string of crimes including money-laundering and trafficking in drugs and illegal immigrants. Interestingly, Señor Sanchez is married to a Cuban Señorita named Niurka Sáliva, daughter of one of Fidel Castro’s top Intelligence officials.

“But Humberto,” you say, “why should something so commonplace and provincially Mexican be reported in the U.S. media?”
Because the drug and human contraband (the latter including Cubans, Russians, Chinese, and perhaps al-Qaeda-allied Somali terrorists) from this Mexican waystation, courtesy of Gregorio Sánchez and his Castroite wife, were mostly bound for the U.S. — with Arizona a probable entry point. That’s why.
Mexican investigative reporter José Antonio Pérez Stuart has uncovered links between the international publicity campaign against Arizona and money from powerful Latin American narco-Castroite mafias. That’s also why.
Mexican newspapers have also revealed that a Cuban gentleman named Boris “El Boris” del Valle, son of Cuba’s former Minister of the Interior (KGB-trained Secret Police/Intelligence) and a relative of Fidel Castro’s wife Dalia del Valle, worked closely with the Sánchez couple and was the “hands-on” operative for the smuggling of drugs and humans into the U.S. His official title while residing in Cancun was Gregorio Sánchez’ “Security Assessor,” as befit his title in Cuba as a dashing G-2 (military intelligence) officer.

With the assistance of his Cuban home-boys, “El Boris” (now in a Mexican jail) had set up his own police/military fiefdom in the Cancun area. Boris worked hand-in-glove with Los Zetas, probably the most “efficient” gang of drug-smuggling “enforcers” in the world. He also imported hundreds of fellow Castroite functionaries to staff his smuggling operation. Most of these Cuban agents entered Mexico under the guise of “cultural exchanges.”

By the way, normally the MSM would brand Los Zetas a “death squad.” But since their tortures and rub-outs generally benefit leftists (Castro, Ortega, Chávez, and their allied narco-mafiosi), mum is the word in mainstream media circles. Now find some link, however tenuous, from them to the CIA or a “U.S.-backed strongman” and — I ga-ron-tee! — the label “death squad” would become instantly viral throughout the worldwide media.

So let’s step back and have a look: A nation classified by the U.S. State Dept. as a State Sponsor of Terrorism (Cuba) is likely helping smuggle al-Qaeda-allied terrorists into the U.S.

Obama Team’s response? Why, let’s abolish those hideously embarrassing Bush-era restrictions and make it easier for Cubans to travel to the U.S., all in the name of — you guessed it — “cultural exchanges“!

Wondering Bridgetteb if Jan Brewer knows this.
      Interesting twist…

  15. Don’t mean to hijack the thread but you have got to look at this, picture:
and then read the LC story that word is gettig out,
the accident was not an accident:
Slowly the worm of reality is turning in media on the right are coming to the, maybe, well could be, possibly, might be, that someone did something bad in the Obama Gulf Gusher to cause all of this destruction……….but with the phobic caveat, “I’m not saying it was deliberate!”

Well, hysterical phobic caveats aside, the partner of British Petroleum……..oh by the way this is going to be another galactic exclusive by God’s Grace, so let your eyes do the typing here………BP’s minority parntner now has publicly charged BP with gross negligence and willful misconduct.

The interesting definition of that phrase is if one neglects, one is deliberately taking an action which causes a chaotic thing to happen, one is knowingly undertaking that action, in understanding the consequences will be harmful.
Gross is extreme, so Andarko Petroleum, is stating BP deliberately to the extreme blew up Deepwater Horizon. That is what willful misconduct means in it was planned.
That is called terrorism and B. Hussein Obama is hip deep in this tar ball terror.

There is another word in this Oxford Language which links to this and this blog alone has used it in sabotage.

British Petroleum’s partners, the boots on the ground folks have literally agreed with this blog now in stating that key folks in that globalist cartel caused the murder of the American Citizens on that platform and the destruction of that rented oil rig. That is criminal homicide and B. Hussein Obama was in on this from the start, as he was so million dollar deep donation in bed with this European cartel that there is not in any way from the Lockerbie terrorist release, the Libyan oil contracts, and after thousands of wells sunk in the Gulf over decades, this only happened after deliberate sabotage, negligence by the Obama folks overseeing this, that is is Barack and Petroleum’s sabotage in crimes against the Anglo peoples.

For the exclusive, here is what is really going on, beyond trying to destroy Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, keep America pumping Muslim oil which money ends up in European cartel banks.

Oh and in a search, the top promoter of the Anadarko Petroleum charges are Muslim mafia oil al Jazeera and information in March revealed that none other than Warren Buffett was looking at purchasing Anadarko Petroleum as one of the biggest independent exploration and distributor energy companies.
Isn’t it just amazing how Warren Buffett’s name just keeps popping up in these key economic implosions, he has billions of your savings he looted to buy these companies, and the very competitors of what was successful British Petroleum in Obama crony Buffett and Obama crony Muslim mafia oil are the ones linked to the stories to further sink BP.

The Rockefellers a few years ago merged with British Petroleum. As this blog exclusively noted, there are really 3 BP’s. The old British version is in the minority. The American version under Rockefeller which got Americans murdered is the majority in workers, and what runs it is this central European fascist cartel leadership.

Revisit the history of Obama as it repeats itself. Obama destroyed General Motors and handed it over to UAW and the sound European version was purchased by, the central Europeans. All of this was Obama payback for their sponsorship of him.
Toyota just did not happen in being gutted either. The Chicoms are destined to replace the Japanese as automobile powerhouses and GM is going to sell Chicom cars made by Buffett to Americans.

Observe the destruction of American finance. Warren Buffett is heavily invested in Goldman Sachs and their stocks drop and in leverage Obama gains more control over that facet of the industry.
Democrat Chris Dodd is ramming through a banking bill which will gut American finance’s ability to make profitable high dollar loans. This once again reverts all major finance to the European cartel.

Obama has blackmailed pharmaceutical, banking and insurance, all to redistribute the same control and revenues back into the German and Rockefeller medical cartels.

Take apart British Petroleum now, which there needs no more confirmation that this European cartel leadership deliberately for Obama sabotaged this well and Obama polluted the Gulf all to shut down American drilling and make America a vassal of the Muslim mafia oil states and the banks in Europe who gain those funds.
There are “if’s” in this, but Obamites have floated the idea that BP will not survive.

Remember now what Obama did to GM and to American finance in breaking it up, in the massive debt was dumped on Americans, while the cronies walked off with the assets.

Think of this in real terms of what a corporation is. In the early years of the bio fuels, farmers would invest in shares in ethanol plants. These plants would be mismanaged and farmers would be left holding the bills as they held the stock in the company.
It would be the Rockefellers then who swooped in and bought up all these bio fuel plants on the cheap and the original investors were left with nothing but debt.

What if BP is broken up? What if the British and American investors find a notice in their mail in the coming months that each of them now owe from Obama 20 billion dollar looting, several hundred thousand dollars in debt in their BP company?

While this is going on, the Rockefellers appear to have been part of this plan with the Rothschilds to destroy what was British Petroleum and have what comes out on the other side a sort of Exxon Mobile on the American side again and BP Europe would be actually controlled by the central European cartel.

Take this apart in Rockefeller merged with BP, and Rockefeller will get for nothing the entire American division of BP. The central Europeans which did not have squat for a massive oil structure will inherit everything BP has been drilling and leasing in Eurasia, which includes the massive fields of Libya.

That is the exclusive here, and it follows a pattern in how the Obama clique has been destroying sound companies, gobbling them up, restructuring them, leaving investors broke and folks like Warren Buffett, George Soros and the regular globalist cast of Rothschilds and Rockefellers making off like the bandits they are in owning trillion dollar corporations for absolutely nothing.
The scheme of it is simple in then transferring that debt onto Americans and Anglos in insurance costs which are paid not by insurance companies, but by premiums paid by the little people and by all of this massive debt placed directly on investors in either stock looting or what very well can be notices of,

“Barack Obama and Charlie Schumer inform you that British Petroleum is insolvent due to the 20 billion dollar extortion and you as a stockholder are now responsible for this debt. Payment is expected immediately or all your assets will be seized by the IRS.
    Have an Obama day”.

There are many facets at work on this that people have not even bothered to consider in this, and it is probably one reason this blog receives so much attention as the Obama conspirators do not appreciate the information being made public exposing their inner workings.

This is all based in the same Obama group in racism smearing Anglo American finance, capitalism and the British and American dominance of the world.
Hitting British Petroleum from inside, with Obama’s assistance in the Gulf is an organized effort.

Those are the facts of what is happening in this, as the puppy press is hammering British Petroleum daily to destroy it, so the robber barons will legally loot that sound company which kept the British afloat, and leave the Anglos with all the debt.

Once again in God’s Grace, you heard it here exclusively while Newbusters was picking dates off the camel.

Sen. Kyl: ‘Obama Says No Border Security Without Amnesty’ (Obama Holds Nat’l Security ‘Hostage’)
      Human Events ^ | Sunday, June 20, 2010 | Connie Hair

In a stunning revelation at an Arizona town hall meeting this past Friday, Republican Senator Jon Kyl told his constituents that President Obama privately insisted that he will not secure the border until amnesty for illegal aliens passes first. According to Kyl, Obama argued that Democrats would lose their bargaining chips for any type of amnesty if the government beefs up its presence on the chaotic border. “The problem is,” Obama allegedly told Kyl, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

      Transcript (at 3:21):

SEN. JON KYL: I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us… Here’s what the president said. “The problem is,” he said, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

      [gasps from the audience]

KYL: In other words they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform. I explained, “You and I have an obligation to secure the border. That’s an obligation. It also has some potentially positive benefits. You don’t have to have comprehensive immigration to secure the border, but you have to have a secure border to get comprehensive immigration reform. You may be surprised, maybe you don’t think that there’d be any more incentive, but I’m not so sure that that’s true. In any event, it doesn’t matter we’re supposed to secure the border.”

That’s why this is being done. They want to get something in return for doing their duty. And that’s—

      KYL: Yeah.

WASHINGTON — Fighting homegrown terrorism by monitoring Internet communications is a civil liberties trade-off the U.S. government must make to beef up national security, the nation’s homeland security chief said Friday.

As terrorists increasingly recruit U.S. citizens, the government needs to constantly balance Americans’ civil rights and privacy with the need to keep people safe, said Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

    And now this:

It is so obvious that they are pushing us to find the breaking point. Typical Marxist ploy.

I am so disgusted. Americans are out of work by record numbers and yet our tax dollars are being spent to promote fair wages to ILLEGALS!
