Rain in Dallas has turned to snow and the temperature is falling rapidly. Yesterday the neighborhood was out enjoying the sunshine filled day and each other and basking in a warm temperature of 75+ and now it is 23 degrees! What a change occurred in less than 24 hours. Winter advisories and winter storm warnings are now all over the news. We are witnessing an unusual Winter Wonderland of sparkling white just in time for Christmas! Christmas music plays while the sounds of a warm, crackling fire and the aroma of baking goodies fills the air.
To each and everyone a very Blessed and Merry Christmas! Please stay safe during your travels to be with family and friends to celebrate the birth of the true Messiah. Our prayers and thanks are with our armed forces around the world who are keeping us safe and who are fighting to keep democracy and freedom alive.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this blog and to all those that come here to read the news and our opinions. After the presents are wrapped and the stockings are hung by the chimney with care, there is often a moment of quiet at Christmas, a time when the air feels full of promise and joy. As we reflect upon the past year, may we know that with the birth of Jesus we are renewed.

Close to fifty years ago, I knew someone whose Christmas table always contained a small birthday cake, and every year she and her family sang happy birthday. I’ve never forgotten the meaning of what she did what and how gently she taught her children to distinguish between the essential and the superficial.

What can I say to top all of the wonderful comments and great poetry ? I think we have the most wonderful group here, and I adore you all ! I feel so blessed to know you all and have you for my friends. My home smells like roasting meat, and the sounds of laughter and music blend in. We sang happy birthday this morning at brunch, and baby Jesus has a gift too.
We remember who this day is really for. Thank you God for my wonderful life. I am truly blessed.
