  1. Hey. Might as well distract from the ACORN issue by throwing the Poles under the bus on the 70th anniversary of the invasion of Poland by Obama’s commie friends in the former USSR. Why the hell not throw the Poles and Czechs under the bus, too? After all, it’s pay back for their helping to break up the glorious, communist paradise–the Soviet Union.

  2. In the “you can’t make this stuff up” category, I heard on Beck just now that in addition to Podesta, the board that’s going to “investigate” ACORN includes the man who helped plan the flyover of the Statue of Liberty and ALSO people from, wait for it . . . SEIU!!!!!

  3. I heard that the congresspersons demanding a cut-off of ACORN funding are stipulating that it should include ALL groups under their sleazy umbrella.

Schwarzenegger is demanding an ACORN investigation by the CA attorney general. Good luck with that.

I heard on FOX that the Louisiana AG has subpoenaed their books. This could be big because the headquarters of ACORN shares a building with SEIU IN Louisiana. Of course, they might “accidentally” lose the records or else there will be another burglary (as out West) where, oddly enough, their computers were stolen right before they were to be turned over to law enforcement. Database gone. Whoops!

On a depressing note, I heard that one of the prosecuting attorneys that Bush let go (to much consternation and bloviating by the Dems) has been reinstated in Nevada. Nevada, where ACORN and SEIU (am I correct in this?) helped to clinch the nomination for Obama. Where there are also allegations of vote fraud, perpetrated by ACORN.

The newest James and Hannah video demonstrates (what else?) ACORN’s involvement in illegal immigrant smuggling.

And today’s paper tells me that Obama spoke to Hispanic groups and told them that, yes, there will be enforcement in his health care bill to prevent illegals from getting access. But wait! He also assured them that he’s going to push amnesty again. (Oh, sorry. I mean, “comprehensive immigration reform.”)

So, see. He didn’t “lie”. ILLEGAL immigrants won’t get health care, but only because he intends to make them ALL LEGAL first.

  4. Developing….***HOUSE votes to defund ACORN***

    • Great news, but defunding isn’t enough. We MUST see the books. We MUST have a criminal RICO investigation and exposure of EVERY connection to every corrupt person in this government.

  5. “I’m willing to forgo the cheap satisfaction of the radical pose for the deep satisfaction of radical ends,” Van Jones said.

Do you think perhaps Bertha Lewis got orders from “the powers that be” who also ordered Conyers to drop an investigation into ACORN?

Do you think those orders from the powers that be told Bertha to PRETEND, as Van Jones admitted he PRETENDS that he’s no longer a radical–giving up his radical pose for another “pose”–in order to achieve much-desired radical ends?

Meaning that this bogus self-investigation is designed to fool anybody who might tune in on a superficial level into believing that Bertha is equally outraged and WILL follow through on the “recommendations” of their self-performed audit of themselves?

What do you think Obama and Clinton discussed in NYC recently? How to extract oneself from a growing scandal? How to, say, do a blitzkrieg on national TV, perhaps this very Sunday, to “throw ACORN under the bus?” To distance Obama from them? To pretend, once again, and to state FALSELY that his association with them was superficial and long ago? To feign outrage at ACORN’s shameful behavior?

    Time will tell.

    • Redpill. Hahahahahahaha ! Of course they knew before now about ACORN. It was a scam ! Builders throw up tons of houses, Freddie and Fannie in there too, GE, SEIU, as well as ACORN. From start to finish a big scam. From the builders to the mortgages, this plan was hatched in Hell ! And they are mad at 2 video kids ! They have nerve huh ? Go FOX News !
For an older read, see this one.

  6. WOW everyone. You MUST watch Beck today. I won’t spoil it for the ones in a diff. time zone…but his Tree of Revolution is dynomiiite!!! One guest just described Beck’s chalkboard as a deadly weapon!!! LMBO…the “fringe media” must be messing up their pants about now!!

My hero forever – Glenn Beck.

  7. Oh yeah, perfect time of year for his tree…fall…as the leaves fall away, more branches are exposed!!

  8. This year a nation (almost) died. Forget the hows whys and what ifs. Cut to the chase, a usurper has infiltrated to the highest echelons of American democracy and society. An undercurrent of haterd for all that is American has infiltrated our very social and governmental fabric. Obama and his ilk is a cancer that will not relent until a physical surgical removal has been performed by we the people. Talking will not get it, complaining will not get it, protesting will not get it. Physical restraint is the only option left. Are we a people or are we all mouth and no substance. It is obvious that the Obama administration is geared to counteract any opposition to their agenda(s), both politically and physically. It is obvious the American people are ready to respond, both politically and physically, by the outpouring of participation in the march on DC. SEMPER FI.

  9. They bulldoze new unfinished housing projects in California and other states so as to create new housing projects. They (the government ) cannot account for the building of new houses until the older one are sold. In order to build new houses the others (unfinished new houses) have to be demolished in order new houses can be built– All to show the Obama stimulus is working.

  10. Obama and company are the rectum of the American dream.

  11. ACORNS roasting on an open fire
Feds now nipping at your toes
Cries of “race” being howled by the perps
And folks dressed up like common Ho’s

Everybody knows, the turkeys and the charlatans
    Helped to make elections trite
The thieves and crooks with their bloodshot eyes
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Sam, our uncle’s on his way
He’s loaded lots of legal warrants on his tray
And every ACORN crook is gonna cry
‘Cause two young heros were unafraid to spy

And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To members of this rotten crew
Although it’s been said many times, many ways

    It’s the Bighouse!

    Yes the Bighouse!

    It’s the Bighouse For YOU!!

  12. A couple funny blips I recorded, but I have no idea where I found them or I’d give them credit.

“Do I hear the sounds of paper shredders running overtime at ACORN?”

“I’m thinking about penning a new book too:

    Assorted Nuts or

From Peanuts to ACORNs: The Carter-Obama Legacy”

  13. Obama Hides ACORN Connection

Published by Lee S. Gliddon, Jr.
    Sept. 20th, 2009, Desert Conservative

Barack Obama found it extremely difficult to answer questions related to ACORN becuase he had to give replies sans a teleprompter! It turns out that he is not the great speaker he is touted to be but is a great reader!

Furthermore, Obama all but derided Stephanopoulos for using a dictionary to define words. He should be ashamed of himself…terribly ashamed.

STEPHANOPOULOS: But have your — have some of your allies made it easier for — handed your opponents some ammunition, like ACORN, for example…

OBAMA: Well, look, the — you know, I think that — are there folks in the Democratic camp or on the left who haven’t — haven’t always operated in ways that I’d appreciate? Absolutely.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Congress said they should cut off all funding for ACORN.

    OBAMA: Is — is — is…

STEPHANOPOULOS: … all funding for ACORN. Are you for that?

OBAMA: Is that true on the other side, as well? Of course that’s true.

STEPHANOPOULOS: How about the funding for ACORN?

OBAMA: You know, it’s — frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely. I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Both the Senate and the House have voted to cut it off.

OBAMA: You know, what I know is, is that what I saw on that video was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So you’re not committing to — to cut off the federal funding?

OBAMA: George, this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It’s not something I’m paying a lot of attention to.

  14. Sweetness & Light; Why Does NYC Fund 3 ACORN Schools?

Two schools in New York City have partnered with ACORN and bear its name: ACORN Community High School and ACORN High School for Social Justice. The schools’ state report cards identify ACORN Community High School as in good standing for student performance, while the other school needs improvement in some areas…

  15. ‘Nut’-house empire ACORN grabs up $50M in city homes

    September 21, 2009

ACORN has quietly become one of the Big Apple’s biggest owners of low- and moderate-income housing, amassing a real-estate empire worth at least $50 million, The Post has learned
New York ACORN and a tangled web of affiliates own or manage nearly 1,500 housing units across three boroughs and draw in an estimated $5.7 million in rents, fees and profits from sales.

The properties are controlled by an opaque collection of nonprofits, holding companies and development funds. Many have generic names, like the 385 Palmetto Street Housing Development Fund or the Mutual Housing Association of New York, leaving no clue of their ties to the national ACORN conglomerate.

Founded in 1987, MHANY now owns more than 80 homes and apartment houses across Brooklyn and brought in some $2.5 million in revenue in 2007, according to a Post review of state and federal filings.

Such income helps support at least 18 local ACORN affiliates largely based at the 2-4 Nevins St., Brooklyn, address ACORN shares with the left-of-center Working Families Party.

Local ACORN housing companies share a president, Hazel Desant, an executive director, Ismene Speliotis, and identical boards. ACORN reports no compensation for the board members, although it disclosed that 10 directors — all save Desant — hold leases in ACORN-owned buildings ranging in value from $5,900 to $11,000 annually.

    • Ahhhh Bridgette, Good post ! Is that not a coincidence that now ACORN owns all of this real estate, and the real homeowners are being reposessed ? Who is buying real estate pennies on the dollar ? Connecting the dots…Looks like the ez way to widespread theft and redistribution of homes that were intended for the poor, but the poor are already in reposession, so, connecting the dots again, doesn’t this give someone a way to buy distressed real estate cheap, when it is not really distressed ? This is the whole, big scam. Lets turn even almost new homes into distressed real estate and buy it up cheap.
1.Give a person the mortgage that cannot possibly pay for it.
2.Take said persons job away if need be.
3.Take in closing costs, down pmt, pool, yard, improvements, equity etc.. as profit.
4.Let the house sit a bit, get shabby, vacant, yard overgrown, broken windows, etc..
      5.Resell or aquirefor investment portfolio.
      6.Minimal cosmetic work to property.
7.Resell for profit, or hold title, and lease for profit.
8.This has dropped value of other surrounding real estate values to up to 50% and said neighbors may even have grounds for a class action suit ( I am no lawyer)
9.Someone now owns this property for cheap, at the expense of the other hardworking people of this country.
      10. This has been done before in Chicago or NY before right ? Turn of the century or after maybe ? Tammany Hall or something ? Forgot my history again. Will check. This sounds very much like that story. Who did that one and who did this one ?
Very good real estate scam. Class action suits are sure to be huge ! Wow Bridgette ! Write more please !

  17. A World Without ACORN
By Darrell Issa on 12.2.09 Snips

Last week, we learned that the Department of Justice wants the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) to continue receiving taxpayer dollars in spite of ongoing criminal investigations into widespread fraud and other illegal activities on the part of ACORN officers and employees.

Clearly, ACORN deserves to lose its tax-exempt status and has forfeited its right to receive taxpayer dollars — dollars more responsibly awarded to thousands of other worthy community-based organizations around which a cloud of criminal suspicion does not hang. Congress was right to defund ACORN, and the Obama administration is wrong in its attempt to explain away the law to keep the money funneling into ACORN’s illicit enterprise.

  18. Investigation of ourselves showed nothing:

    Did anyone expect otherwise?

  19. Activist Brooklyn Judge Delivers for ACORN, Refunds Group Snips

File this one under the category of Predicable News of the Year: A Brooklyn federal judge, appointed by former President Bill Clinton, adopted the argument of hometown Congressman and ACORN apologist Jerrold Nadler that Congress’s efforts to “defund” ACORN amounted to a bill of attainder, and thus were unconstitutional.

Judge Nina Gershon imposed an injunction on the Congress to prevent it from cutting off funds, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Is it possible Nadler could have told Schwartz something along the lines of, “have I got a federal court for you…!” Is it?

The reality is, as with ACORN’s sham “independent” investigation and subsequent report, ACORN is calling on its friends and allies in its time of need and peril. And man, are they delivering.

Bill Quigley, the legal director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, was quoted by Fox News as saying, ”It’s a resounding victory for ACORN. I’d be surprised if the government decides to appeal.”

(The Center for Constitutional Rights, by the way, is headed up by Michael Ratner. Big Government readers may remember that Steve’s brother, Bruce, is a deep-pocketed real estate developer and sugar-daddy for ACORN.)

    Nadler’s ACORN Ethics
    By Matthew Vadum on 10.26.09 @ 6:07AM

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), who heads a congressional subcommittee that may be investigating ACORN in the not-too-distant future, has been providing advice to ACORN’s lawyer, according to a new report.

Nadler, a longtime ACORN ally, is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on the Constitution, civil rights, and civil liberties.

  20. Impeach This Judge
    By Matthew Vadum on 12.13.09 @ 2:47AM

U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon is unfit to serve on the federal bench.

How do I know this? Because Gershon, a Bill Clinton appointee, issued a temporary injunction prohibiting Congress from cutting off funding for ACORN.

This injunction is premature, unconstitutional, and an affront to the separation of powers. It appears to rely on a novel, insidious legal doctrine known as legislative due process. In other words, groups have rights in the appropriations process. Congress no longer has the power of the purse regardless of what the Constitution says.

Only in the through-the-looking-glass world of a leftist activist judge could the organized crime syndicate ACORN be deemed a victim because Congress decided to stop funding it. Only in such a world could a cutoff of such funding be deemed a punishment prohibited under the Constitution’s ban on bills of attainder.

If cutting off funds is a punishment, ACORN therefore must have a right to funding. This is patently absurd.

By issuing this injunction Gershon has violated her oath to uphold the Constitution and committed an impeachable offense.

  21. I stole this from drkate’s blog. It bears repeating:

ACORN gets a role in Barney Franks’s financial oversight reform.

It came to me this morning that illegal aliens will soon have no interest in becoming citizens of this country. Why should they? They came here to flee the results of a corrupt government that rewards the connected and keeps the poor down. Why should they not just go home, even if Obama offers them amnesty? Obama is quickly making the US the Nigeria of the Western Hemisphere. Corruption here will make Mexican corruption look like small potatoes.

  22. GAO opens ACORN investigation

The Government Accountability Office has opened an investigation into ACORN’s use of taxpayer dollars, two House Republicans said Thursday.

Reps. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) made the announcement in the course of demanding a separate FBI investigation into the group.

“Only an independent criminal investigation conducted by the FBI can get to the bottom of the nationwide allegations against ACORN,” Smith said in a news release.

The GAO investigation will be completed jointly with the executive branch’s inspector general.

More than 20 senators and several House members asked the GAO to investigate ACORN after videos showed some ACORN employees offering advice to actors posing as a prostitute and her politician boyfriend on how to set up a brothel.

Congress passed – and the president has signed – a bill containing a measure barring any further federal money from going to the group, but a federal court in New York has overturned that ban.

  23. Rep. Steve King: ACORN scandal bigger than Watergate

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on Monday claimed that allegations of wrongdoing surrounding the community group ACORN are bigger than the Watergate scandal that brought down the President Richard Nixon.

King, a long-time critic of ACORN, told the conservative American Spectator that the ACORN scandals have been worse because they affect state, local and national politics.

It’s thousands of times bigger than Watergate because Watergate was only a little break-in by a couple of guys,” said King. “By the time we pull ACORN out by its roots America’s going to understand just how big this is.”

The House Judiciary Committee member described the ACORN saga as “the largest corruption crisis in the history of America.”

King and other conservatives have pushed for congressional investigations of ACORN [Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now] after several of its employees were caught on camera giving financial advice to two individuals posing as a pimp and prostitute.

Congress subsequently voted to temporarily strip the group of its federal funding.

Several Democratic lawmakers have said that the vote to strip the group of funding was a violation of its bill of attainder rights, which bans a legislature for punishing an individual or group without being convicted at trial.

In the interview King says that the group has direct ties to the White House and other powerful Democratic constituencies such as the labor movement.

Conservatives also have accused the group of engaging in voter registration fraud during the 2008 elections, during which the Democrats grew their majority in Congress and voters elected Barack Obama president.

  24. Gee, King, ya think? Better late than never.

  25. Exclusive: ACORN Qualifies for Funding in Senate Health Care Bill
    Dec. 21, 2009

Senator Roland Burris is claiming credit for a provision in Harry Reid’s “manager’s amendment,” unveiled Saturday morning, that could funnel money to ACORN through the health care bill.

The provision he cites, found on pages 240 through 248 of the manager’s amendment, requires that six different agencies each establish an “Office of Minority Health.”

According to a Senate legislative aide, the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now could qualify for grants under this provision. ACORN would also qualify for funding on page 150 of the underlying Reid bill, which says that “community and consumer-focused nonprofit groups” may receive grants to “conduct public education activities to raise awareness of the availability of qualified health plans.”

  26. GAO TO INVESTIGATE ACORN and there are calls for an FBI Investigation! What Dems will be implicated? About time for them to start investigating this organization!

Rep. Smith: ACORN’s audit is a good start

WASHINGTON — After succeeding in getting a federal audit of the community activist group ACORN, Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, is pushing for an FBI investigation to determine whether the liberal organization engaged in criminal activity and voter fraud.

The Government Accountability Office — the investigative arm of Congress — has told Smith and Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., that it will audit ACORN’s use of federal funds.

  27. California ACORN chapter splits from scandal-tinged national group Jan. 13, 2010

The former head of the CA branch and now Exec. Dir. of the new group, Amy Schur, said the 37,000-member ACORN chapter broke with National ACORN. They formed a new nonprofit group, the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment. Many of the same staff members are now employed by ACCE and they will continue their community-organizing “mission.”

“Schur says ACORN has been damaged by internal mistakes and what she calls “vicious politically motivated attacks” by conservatives.”,0,7168104.story

[CHANGING NAME, NOT PERSONNEL. Their MO is clear. I wonder if they are now with the group that split from New Orleans? The ACCE….like in Ace?
Yes, those “political” attacks were bad ..voter-registration fraud, and those 5 – 6 videos of corrupt activities, and the one where they told a woman how to launder her money was also an unwarranted attack, and the tossing of private documents that implicated problem. Just normal activities for those in the Democratic party. Shame on anyone that would conservatives criticize those illegal activities..right? Can they sstill be arrested if the organization is now defunct? Maybe Roseann Barr will be their spokesperson and major fund raiser.]

  28. John Fund warns that the government databases contain names of non-citizens, mentally incompetent individuals and felons – factors that would usually disqualify a person from voting in most states.

“One main concern that has been raised is that most of these databases don’t indicate citizenship status,” the staffer said. “It’s not clear that there is any available way to determine whether the people being added to the rolls are or are not citizens.”

Fund notes that many people own property in more than one location and pay taxes to numerous government entities.

“[U]niversal voter registration would automatically register them in more than one location, allowing them to vote more than once – either in person or by mail,” Fund explains.

Not sure if this should be posted here or has been posted elsewhere. Check it out. Sounds just like Acorn though. Will it come to fruition?
If so, we do not stand a chance ! Who and how many will really stand up to save our Republic?

    ‘Vote early, vote often’

  29. ACORN sues over the emotional distress the two filmmakers caused her!

    ACORN Employee Sues Undercover Filmmakers
    January 23, 2010

The civil lawsuit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia accuses the filmmakers of illegally recording their conversation with the worker

The civil lawsuit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia accuses the filmmakers, James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, of illegally recording their conversation with the worker, Katherine Conway-Russell, and then publicizing the videos, which Conway-Russell says “caused emotional distress, harm and injury.” Oops she was caught on film and is trying to change the story..?

Conway-Russell, an office director with ACORN Housing Corporation since March 2008, accuses O’Keefe and Giles of visiting the Philadelphia office July 24 to “entrap … employees into engaging in inappropriate counseling,” adding that she made clear to them that she could only offer assistance with “mortgage possibilities.” The lawsuit doesn’t go into details of the conversation.

It’s hardly the first time ACORN or its employees have responded to the controversy over its operations by suing.
The organization filed a lawsuit in Baltimore in late September accusing the filmmakers and of illegally recording conversations at a Baltimore ACORN office and then posting them online.

And in November, representatives for ACORN sued the federal government in an attempt to regain the millions of dollars in funding the community organizing group lost after Congress responded to the undercover videos by voting to block the funding. ACORN also has faced allegations of voter fraud during the 2008 presidential election.

  30. For CPAC and Beck, The Truth About the ACORN 8
February 19, 2010 by Anita MonCrief

The top leaders of the ACORN 8 are Marcel Reid, Karen Innman, Michael McCray, and Zena Crenshaw Logal. In 2007 all four ACORN 8 leaders became actively involved in a number of organizations that would set the stage for an internal power struggle within ACORN that would eventually spill into courts and onto television screens across America. Among the ACORN-life affiliates controlled by these four are:

The Congress Against Racism and Corruption in Law Enforcement (CARCLE),
Power Over Poverty Under Laws of America Restored (POPULAR)
    The ACORN 8
The International Association of Whistle-blowers (IAW)
National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project
    * The 3.5.7 Commission (appears to be inactive)

    * National Forum On Judicial Accountability (NFOJA), the official network of Community Forums on Judicial Accountability (CFOJA)

A number of the above ACORN 8 affiliates operate out of a modest apartment building at 3870 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, Washington, DC.

It appears that a group of friends may have established a network in direct competition with ACORN while serving as board members and used this same network to, among other things, boost their credibility with awards and sham conferences while using the ACORN scandal as a spring board into the national spotlight.
