  1. Where to add this whacky note? Was cruzing for some surf art, which Hawaii has tons. went to a site that had some old photos of a guy (famous actually but not much on him) named Edward Arthur ‘Toots’ Minvielle. Famous canoe racer in Honolulu. guess what….that’s the guy who had the survey company that Lolo worked for. Seems Arthur came to Hawaii as a sugar planter with about 400 others from Puerto Rico early 1900’s.There’s little info on his private life, only his fame in Hawaii for his paddle racing, surfing, outrigger club races. His naked statue in bronze is in the Honolulu airport as of 1994 I believe. He died 1992. He became a naturalized citizen after the Spanish American war. He graduated U. of Hawaii around 1929 ,in Engineering and Surveying and later surveyed for the military on Molokai by 1935. The A.G. Minvielle Jr. VTN Pacific Survey company Inc. was his and most likely A. G. (name may be Arthur George) was the son of Toots Minvielle. I just thought that was so whacky that his name was Toots and Lolo worked for this company. Found this in old surfing stories. Tried to go back to the site today but couldn’t find it. I scribbled down these notes. There may be a Victor Manvielle related too.

    • Actually Alfy that’s quite interesting. Is this what you are talking about?

      http://www.ncoca.com/news/History-of-Outrigger-Paddling-in-California.html

      Part II

How does one person born of modest means, simple times, and Puerto Rican ancestry become such a prominent figure in Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling? One way is to dream and to put that dream into action and to keep believing in that dream and to make others see and believe in that quest. To become that preverbal Pied Piper, you need training. Toots’ father was a manager of a sugar plantation store near Hilo when he was born in 1901. Sugar was the #1 product and employer of the populous at that time. When Toots was a teenager, his family moved to Oahu. At 14 he became a member of Outrigger Canoe Club. At that time, the club had been in existence for six years and the club’s purpose was to teach youngsters the Hawaiian water sports. When you walk amongst the shadows of prominent gentlemen of Honolulu, some of those life ambitions should rub off. A few of those greats were: Alexander Ford (founder of OCC), JP Cooke of Castle and Cook, Duke Kahanamoku (Olympic gold medalist swimmer), Buster Crabbe, Walter MacFarlane, and Stanford Dole (pineapple magnet), the list is longer but you get the idea. His coach was the famous “Dad” Center who had been Duke’s Olympic swimming coach.
After graduation from McKinley High School, Toots went to University of Hawaii and received a degree in engineering and surveying. It is these skills that led him to a land-surveying job for a water project on the island of Molokai in 1934

Molokai, HI interesting. If I remember right In the released documents didn’t Ann list both March 15, 1965, in Molokai, Hawaii, and March 5, 1964, in Maui, Hawaii, as the dates and places of her marriage?

    • Almost seems as if when Barry needed a nickname for his grandmother, Arthur’s was handy.

      • really, seems we are thinking alike on this one. Let’s see, Ayers and O. must have noticed the naked statue in the airport one day or maybe his name was in the obit the day they came up with Madelyn’s nickname. Whatever? Wonder how Minvielle got his nickname? Never could find that.
Got something else for you, but this is going to be challenging.
Want you to study up on this wanted terrorist. Elizabeth Anne (Ann, Anna) Dukes. There’s some interesting parallels between this woman and the old versions of info on one of our characters in the Obama saga.
I have researched intensively and my hunch has never changed for going on four years now. This woman has few photos, she has a long court battle with Texas university (can find )(actually more than one court case) She worked for awhile in Chicago on some school/Ayers type project there. She has ties to many states…Mich.,Ohio, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, many more….a CPUSA member, May 19th Comm. organization….ties to Dorhn and Ayers. She has ties to Puerto Rico. Even her age ,profession, persona fits . She fled 1985. Not much is told about her and she’s hard to get info on,however if one has access to to some police records/files there has to be lots more. She had at least two children in the 1960’s and has grandchildren. This is one reason I studied the wedding of Joseph and his Dora Zepeda meticulously.
The truth will probably be very hard to get to but there’s much I had compiled (some info lost in my crashes), but there’s still much that leads me still to believe this woman may be the one and only you know who. This woman is considered very smart, speaks at least two languages and I found something very interesting at Joseph and Dora’s place of business by way of a phone number I found for Michelle Obama. Can’t say more right now, but there’s more. I’ve had most this info for 3 or four years.

  2. http://www.marinaoutrigger.org/content/view/381/175/

interesting. one of “toots” famous canoes is called the “Malia”.
didn’t BO spell it “Tut” in his yearbook?

Well we’ve heard about two canoes that came over on July 27, 1959 and Toot’s vision, now about the third canoe: the Malia. It belonged to Waikiki Surf Club, since buying it from “Dad” Center in 1948 for $2,000. The Malia didn’t come up with other canoes because Surf Club used the Malia in the “state” races on August 1, 1959 at Keehi Lagoon. She was, and still is, Surf Club’s pride and joy. She had participated in every Molokai Race since its inception in 1952. Of those seven years, she finished 1st four times and 2nd three times. In Hawaii, in 1950 (when HCRA officially started) until 1959 the majority of the races were regattas with turn flags, 4-6 regattas a season, which they still have, with 12 events: Boys 13, 15, 17, novice women and men, Jr. 4 and Sr. 4 men, freshman 6, Jr. 6, Sr. 6 men and women with 14 clubs vying for 8 lanes. Of all of those events, the Malia soundly won the majority.

    • Babs Nelson was having lunch with Dr. Rodney West at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki when she allegedly first heard the name Barack Hussein Obama and learned that “Stanley had a baby” and that’s “something to write home about.” So there’s another interesting Canoe Club story. An unwholesome sounding story, to me. Could this club on Waikiki be the same one Toots belonged to? That name is right at the top of the link you gave us.

Consider this: Babs was present, IMPROBABLY, at EVERY iconic, symbolic moment in Barry’s life during his Hawaiian Idyll.

What are the most popular memes we hear? Barry was born at Kapiolani on 8/4/61. Barry started Punahou in 5th grade. He saw his father for the first time since his birth (maybe first time ever) at the airport in 1971, when Obama Sr. came to Hawaii and during that trip spoke to Barry’s Punahou class. Barry was a basketball hero at Punahou. Barry graduated from Punahou in 1979. So how does Babs IMPROBABLY fit into all these events?

Babs says she heard about Barry’s birth from Dr. West the very same day he was born, but she did NOT personally know Barack Sr. or Stanley Ann. This happened at the Outrigger Canoe Club, which was linked, rather improbably, to Lolo Soetoro, who worked for Toots Minvielle.

Babs was teaching at Punahou when Barry started 5th grade and also when he was at high school there; and she was Barry’s teacher sometimes! She was present when BHO Sr. SPOKE to Barry’s 5th grade class. She claims she brought Dr. West with her, too.

Babs claims that she watched all of the basketball games that Barry played in, often sitting with his grandmother! Of all the relatives and fans watching those games, Babs sat with Madelyn.

Babs claims that she grew the flowers and made the lei that you see around Barry’s neck on his graduation day. She gave only 5 out of the hundreds of graduates a lei that day and Barry was one of the chosen ones.

Isn’t that just truly curious? The only thing missing is Babs telling us that she used to buy ice cream from him when he worked at Baskin-Robbins or that she bought dope from his Choom Gang. :)

      • Babs husband Donald J. Nelson . You may be able to connect thru him better to the outrigger or paddle club. Seems they now live in New york,Buffalo area. AND….I just wonder if he is any kin to the Donald Nelson in the Roosevelt era who was an engineer of (I think) Chemistry.Who was appointed some high positions in his administration during WW11. Just like Minvielle who had graduated as an engineer, Nelson may have worked for Military on Oahu around ww2 Pearl Harbor time. Also like Dr. West and Dr. Sinclair’s(father worked on Wilson tunnel on Oahu and joined military after Pearl Harbor and others if you read they’re bios, they are somewhat similar.
There is a company called “Adventure Calls Outfitters in New York run by a woman Nelson, says shes been paddling since a little girl…hmm, coud she be a grandaughter or daughter?
I’ll comment of Ann Duke when I get a chance….yeas, I know about her lawyer Beckiel, and Alan Berkman.

        • Have you ever seen her? Babs? Looks Hawaiian. Nickname Kai. Babs is from Buffalo, just like Neil Abercommie. There’s an art gallery dedicated to her father. Stanley A. Czurles, born Elizabeth, NJ, was director of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State College. The Czurles-Nelson Gallery, honoring the late SUNY Distinguished Service Professor of art education, who founded Buffalo State’s art education program. He began his career at the college in 1931. Barbara L. Czurles Nelson and Donald J. Nelson, her husband, helped fund the gallery with a gift of half a million bucks. They are both supposed to be musicians, but Babs is a jack of all trades. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley A. Czurles lived in Iowa City in the 40s. He was an art instructor at Syracuse U. in 1930, according to a Charleston, WV, paper. He was President of Eastern Arts Assoc. in 1964, according to an Indiana paper. He was in the National Art Education assoc. in 1952 according to a Louisiana paper. A Massachusetts paper calls him Dr. C. Stanley Czurles. Babs has a sister named Alayne who married an Arthur Werner; both were teachers in Kenmore and/or Amherst, both now retired. Babs’s mother’s father’s name was Willard Wyatt. There’s a park named Willard Wyatt or vice versa in Snohomish WA. There was a delegate to the 1940 Dem. Natl. Convention from Asotin, WA by that name. The 1920 census shows Willard working in the movie business in LA with daughter Marie and wife Lorena. Marie was born in KANSAS. Willard in ILLINOIS. Stanley’s name was originally Stanislaus Adalbert Czurles. His father’s name was John Czurles and he was from Russia. His mother was from Austria.

          • In 4 year’s of research I’ve never gotten a computer virus, until today. Researching Barbara L. Czurles Nelson and Donald J. Nelson. Now my main research computer is down for the next week at least, along with the research I found. Hopefully my research will be recovered.

I was looking into connection’s to the Nelson family and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is an art museum in Kansas City (William Rockhill Nelson publisher of the Kansas City Star) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson-Atkins_Museum_of_Art when I got the virus.

I found the Name connections through Irving T. Nelson a Lawyer from Flint, MI that is the brother of Donald Nelson.
            http://www.obits.mlive.com/obituaries/flint/obituary.aspx?n=irving-nelson

(The Original death notice I had found for Irving T. Nelson also listed Barbara L. Czurles Nelson)

          • Miri, Donald Nelson is Irving T. Nelson’s brother, Irving T. is from Flint, MI

            • I read the obit but I still wonder if Donald married to Babs is Irving’s brother. They mention Irving’s brother Donald but don’t they say he’s in Michigan? I guess I need to go back and read it again. I just thought it’s a common name and I didn’t see confirmation of the relationship.

Oh, I see that you said you had another obit that mentioned Babs. That’s curious that the other says nothing about a wife for Donald and says he’s “of” some town in Michigan.

        • alfy, I could never find much on her husband. Just a photo of him at the dedication of the art gallery.

    • My, what a long chin you have, Toots:
      From http://hawaiisportshalloffame.com/fame5059-h.htm

  3. You guy….gals are good…in The Story: BO he wrote TUT not TOOTS
    I wrote in a comments..back a bit? a long chin… and long ears
TOO.. does photo resemble SAD ?… yes if you mean the other other
other SAD! I still think she is alive and well….somewhere…. someplace…

    • I’ve seen “Tutu”, too. They just lie all over the place. Malia is a canoe. Interesting. Today, Malians destroyed ancient religious ruins in Timbuktu. Malians.

      • I know I’ve seen it as Toots also, but you guys are missing something.
This is all very cool to me that Toots Minvielle or at least the Canoe Club and his name have some interesting connections, but I wasn’t referring to SAD when I was speaking of “you know who” in my last post. I was speaking of someone who took off from the US around 1985 or 86, who probably already had many connections to people who had fled to various places in the 60’s and 70’s to avoid arrest. The Anna Duke you posted the picture of……notice the masculine butchy type hair cut….then notice on the photo beside that..the very strong neck she has…..now find yourself a photo of Ruth folks. Anna Duke has family in Texas…she also lived in Austin Texas awhile. Ruth visited her son Joseph in Texas and I have found an address long ago for Ruth in Tx.
But Ann Duke’s info says she’s from Beeville. Never found many folks in Beeville except for one William Duke who works with Joseph and Dora at their place of bussiness. A phone number (I’d have to search and search for the site I found the number for Michelle Obama with an address in Tx…..but that number led me to their bussines and a William Duke of Beeville Tx. …That’s just too ironic for me to think there isn’t some connection
Before now I had so many things happening to me I was unable to give out any of this info. and seriously, I’m still edgy about it. The story as to why is too long and twisted, but believe me, the events in my life since the first days of ever hearing Obama’s name and his history have been very bazaar to say the least. Like I said long ago, once I actually wiped out all the info I had, even wiped out anything to do with any of my family own my own computor. I was for sure being watched, no question about it. I was traveling out of the country (to the same place Anna Dukes lawyer (from whose house she jumped bail and fled), so I even made my travel arrangements on someone elses computor. Some of the info, I’ve never gotten again, but still, I feel I have enough to make the case for what I think about who this person Ruth is. I still will not put all this info. out there, but now you can do your own sleuing and see if it leads you anywhere. The forensic artist who did this person’s sculpture of what she may look like now has died, but during the time I was wanting so bad to show him what I had and see what he thought….guess what…..I happened to be visiting my home town and in the paper I read my county had invited him to a ceremony to give tribute to him on another person he created a scuptor of for identity purposes. I wanted so bad to talk to him, I was so afraid at that point that I thought maybe someone was trying to get me to meet with him(I felt certain people were following me). I am so serious you guys and you may think I am crazy ,but have you ever gone searching in Wickipedia and at the top of the page got dancing across it’s page, a sicle and hammer? I doubt it. I was getting sites that were clearly written over with weird information. I was constantly being rerouted. I was getting weird phone calls..The list of weird things goes one and on. My husband , who is never worried about anything, changed the locks on our doors.
Remember when Ruth was first interviewed (maybe only once has she been interviewed and all the media has used the same info over and over. I’d really like to know where Janny got her info…..I wondered if she is a daughter of someone Ruth/or A Duke knew in the 60’s from college. Remember how Ruth says something like I won’t tell you my age….and they guess her birthdate around 1940-41. That’s what Anna Dukes bio says too. And at Joseph and Dora’s wedding, one of the members of the wedding party is Will Duke…..who is in the family wedding photos. Also in the wedding video (which I watched over and over and over……Ms. Ndesandjo/Nidesand/Ndesanjo , I notice while they are getting their family photos taken….she is talking away while the rest of the crowd has to get her to notice it’s time to smile for the photo………..She’s hard of hearing folks and so is Anna Dukes.
There are many more small details that lead me to believe my hunches are right on. I may share some more sometime. In Ruth’s own words she has been a teacher, only since her kindergarten was created, and not before….why? And why does she not give any credentials on her academic education before becoming a headmaster at her own kindergarten. Doesn’t that strike you as odd?
I’ve tried to dropp hints, if you remember, maybe I was afraid . I said before, this women was not to come into the limelight ,but not giving enough info on her only brought attention to her, which is not what anyone intended…..so the stories about her changed drastically….first she was a Harvard grad….a Harvard teacher….then a teacher somewhere else…..and then she became Ms Baker.
Anna Dukes has many aliases besides some of the ones given on some sites and many of her aliases are real people, some still alive even…..so do these people know her real well….knowing she has used their names….like Judith Chomsky for instance.
Anna Dukes may have gone to school awhile in Puerto Rico, but she at least has ties there somewhat, as that’s where the lawyer that refused to give up any information on her when she fled and went to jail for contempt for about 6 months(I think 6 mnths) resides. Funny , Toots Minvielle was from Puerto Rico way back in early 1900’s. Puerto Rico is a lovely place….and Bill Clinton let some of the revolutionaries out of prison just before he left office…..hmmm….wonder what else Eric Holder knows. This is enough for now. By the way, one of the judges in the case on Anna’s lawyer (deceased) was a Weiner.

        • Alfy, without going into a lot of detail, I think I myself understand what you are saying.

Renee, what was it Maya (the Connection) said about Ruth, property, and the Bali bom-b ing? Remember?

here’s some exerps from “Dreams ” and you see Madelyn is called TOOT. Read the first couple. SEE!

          • What’s interesting is that those excerpts appear to come from the first edition. Or so the writer implies by citing the 1996 edition. (Here’s yet another discrepancy. The news stories call it a 1995 publication; but the front of the book says 1996, iirc.)

          • I like this one:

“In the months leading up to graduation, I wrote to every civil rights organization I could think of, to any black elected official in the country with a progressive agenda, to neighborhood councils & tenant rights groups. When no one wrote back, I wasn’t discouraged. I decided to find more conventional work for a year, to pay off my student loans and maybe even save a little bit. I would need the money later, I told myself. Organizers didn’t make any money; their poverty was proof of their integrity.”

So is his current wealth proof of his corruption?

    • Zenway, we did get the message. I don’t have a functioning printer so can’t do what you suggested. If you want to give it to someone else, do, because we can’t (at this point in time) do it justice. You’ve convinced me that the photo of him in 3rd grade IS him (whoever he is). I used to think it wasn’t him but I can see it now, by comparing those photos. If you had another topic (letters?) then just send as attachments and we’ll look at it.

  4. I posted this comment earlier and it said the site was down for maintenance, when the site comes back after maintenance my comment would be posted – guess what? my comment never posted!

Here it is again (hopefully it post’s this time) –

A.E. “Toots” Minvielle was married to Mildred Tummonds Minvielle they were together 44 year’s. She published a book Love Found & Lost in Hawaii, a loving tribute to her husband, whom she calls a “visionary legend.”

I haven’t had a chance to look into her much yet, but from what I’ve seen so far there isn’t much on her to be found. A picture find of her would be nice.

(Trying one more time! with link posted separately-below)

      • “… A.E. “Toots” Minvielle, founder of the Molokai-to-Oahu outrigger canoe race, passed away in 1992. His wife celebrated what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary in July by publishing her second book: Love Found & Lost in Hawaii.

… It’s a loving tribute to her husband, whom she calls a “visionary legend.” And of their time together, 44 years of “glorious experiences.”

… She writes of her husband’s struggles to launch the Molokai Hoe, of his being told by members of the Outrigger Canoe Club board of directors that it was an impossible feat. …

The race became a reality in 1952, with three crews entered. There were plenty of anxious moments for the Minvielles, who waited at the Diamond Head Lookout to watch the final miles of the race.

When the canoes did not appear at the expected time, Toots told his wife, “Pinkie, plan to leave the islands if this doesn’t happen as I promised it would.”

The winning Kukui O Lanikaula crew from Molokai took nearly nine hours to complete the race from Kawakiu to the Moana Hotel. Next month, more than 100 canoes will be lined up off Hale O Lono for what has become the world championship.

Without the men’s race, there would have been no women’s race. Na Wahine O Ke Kai celebrates its 20th anniversary this Sunday.

To all those paddlers who will challenge Kaiwi the next few weeks, a safe crossing. And when you pass the Diamond Head Lookout, think of the Minvielles. Mrs. Minvielle will be thinking of you as she watches for the canoes from her Maunalani Heights home.”

You have to get at this story in a bizarre way: Go to the Honolulu Advertiser archives. Then scan down for the Star-Bulletin archives. Choose 1998 and then pick Sept. 22. Click on the sports page. On the left side of the page, you’ll see a link for Ms. Luis’s column. If you click it, it will come up, but remain real skinny over on the left side of the page. Then you’ll have to use your mouse arrow to widen that column so you can read the story. I can’t figure out how to get a link directly to that article. The link Leza gave is the same one that shows on my browser bar, but if you click the link Leza gave, it won’t work. They probably do this to keep us from finding stories about Barry in the archives, if any exist. http://archives.starbulletin.com/98/09/22/sports/luis.html

    • For some reason link will not post, going to spam? Miri I’ll post the link in the comment box just in case it’s not in spam.

  6. Leza, Alf, I searched on her before when Alf first mentioned her as I was doing Prairie Fire at the same time. I will search. I just put some of this on Hawaii, but I probably need a new and seperate post. Let me look. Thank you both as it DOES tie in…

On second thought I am going to set up a new post for this now across the hall. I do not want it in 100 places. Again thanks to both of you.

    • There is some of this on Leza’s Weatherman post on this blog.

    • It’s too bad the wedding video of Joseph and Dora is no longer available,I don’t think it is anyway. That’s one of the things lost in a crash. There was much to discern and learn in that video. William Duke appeared as an user, but he also appeared to be related. This was before I knew who he was. He does appear to look like he could be a son or grandson of Ann Duke. It’s a brow thing.I’ll see if I can find his photo.
I wish you guys could research and we could be incognito about it some way….like with hints , code words, so as not to make too much advance alarm for the likes of the Obama crowd, because I think this to be so true whaat I believe about this woman. Once you begin to believe this some people’s stories (like Mark’s ) begin to make some sense as to why he won’t tell some things or give his exact age, and why his story has changed aa few times as well. I learned very early that this person might be Lithuanian, then Mark comes out and says his mother is of jewish descent and Lithuanian. I was stunned because I had found it in a most peculiar way unrelated to their story way before that was ever posted. So many things like that happened, it gave me more confidence I was on to something ,or someone I should say.

      • I don’t mean that Ruth is for real of Lithuanian jewish descent. She may or may not be, but it is the name and identity she chose to use..

      • How do you know who the usher was at their wedding?

        • miri, you asked me how do I know who the usher was at Joseph’s and Dora’s wedding. I was the vid of the wedding and William Duke was in the wedding party….He’s around 47-49years old. He wore a tux he was one of the ushers walking out at the end of the wedding and he’s also in the beginning photos of the wedding with Joseph and his other groomsmen. He is in other wedding shots too. I didn’t knw who he was till I found the phone number (I think through Zaba search) for Michelle o. and the phone number went to wWilliam Duke with a photo of him and working with Joseph and Dora. Maybe he’s a nephew…Don’t know but he was listed then as being from Beeville Tx. Now aint that a coincidence?

          • It sure is. I wish you could show us the photos. btw, did you ever see this biography of Obama? I figured if anybody else has, it would be you. I just found this today, and if somebody else found it before, I don’t recall it: http://www.scribd.com/doc/32703759/Barack-Obama-The-Unauthorized-Biography

          • without checking out what you posted “the unauthorized biography” is a Webster Tarpley creation…a very long good one …He also did one “the Unauthorized Biography of Bush…..didn’t ever read it and I can’t remember if if was of Prescot or George, but anyway he hates the Bush family. Tarpley is extremely smart on world and also war history. He’s a bit synical but I got alot from his writing. I can look past the fact that he’s sort of and enigmatic socialista. I read his bio on Barack (and Michelle is in there too) but it’s been so long ago.
Only a few days ago, I came across y’alls info on Elizabeth Ann Duke’s maiden name. Well, I had just recently found it myself.. Was is Leza or several of you collaborated on her family….Elizabeth Ann(or Anna) Weir? I had found that, but I found her father’s name as H.R. Weir….then I saw ya’ll had found it was Howard. Thanks, but I also found some other facts about her and with your other facts a nice PICTURE is emerging, if someone doesn’t cover up most of them, I think I can put together a much better biography at some point than anyone has. I found and article in a Dallas newpaper,The Modesto Bee , in July of 1988(if it’s real…I don’t know why it wouldn’t be yet). Her father died around 1986….the date is not stated but the article says he dies a couple years before and the FBI attended his funeral hoping to detect if she showed up for his funeral. The article states she may have been wearing a disguise(this was not unusual for these domestic hooligans),but they did not see her there. The article also stated Elizabeth Anna Weir graduated from South Western University in Georgetown in 1961. It also verifies your findings that she married in the summer of 1962, but doesn’t tell me who to. She has a daughter in 1963 and a son born in 1965. Her mother taught school (where?) Anna got a job teaching at Rusk Jr. High School in dallas. She was a methodist church goer
Her father was in the medical supply business….and I find later he owned an ambulance co., the Hope Ambulance service , which he bought from Henry Hope around 1946. I am guessing his medical supply company did quite well , because now one of his daughters is in the home health medical supply bussiness and takes in about $6 million a year.
I found some of this through another news article where her two sisters have put up their homes for Eliz. Anna Weir Duke’s bail and they were due to lose their homes through Pennsylvania attorneys since she jumped bail and became a fugitive.
Not only did lawyer Linda Backiel go to jail for 6 months for refusing to give information to a grand jury on the where abouts of a letter Anna Duke left (typewritten) when she fled, Linda Backiel was not her actual attorney ,but gave her council (she gave council to many of the Puerto Rican terrorists) ; it was Judith Chomsky (that’s Noam Chomsky’s sister in law and a prominent civil rights lawyer, foreign and international as well) and another Lawyer Holly M.(can’t remember) that were her lawyers…and it was Judith Chomsky’s home she fled from. They both were almost to get the same fate at Linda Backiel. Judith got contemp of court. This letter was never found , that is the original, but somewhere in the court record they know what was said in the letter and it was intended by Ms. Duke to be put in the newpaper. I wonder why it never made it in a newspaper?
I have a bit more information, but first since you guys are great at finding small details, see if you can find where her mother taught school in San Antonio (I think). One sister’s name was Mary Avis Weir and there’s more than one but this Mary Weir was a psychologist…don’t know if she ever married. I find a memorium for a 1961 highschool graduate from T. Jefferson High School in San Antonio of Mary Avis Weir. Her photo looks quite interesting (probably only to me).
Next time I get a chance I’ll tell you about Russell Bailey Duke, born 1965.Guess what he’s associated with……..Motor Cycles ! Ring a bell anybody?

            • It’s incredible how these particular domestic terrorists seem protected from the outset and come out smelling like roses (and being worth millions) or ending up in OUR government, deciding our fates, as if they aren’t criminals. Juxtapose their outcome with, for example, Randy Weaver’s family. Today we learn that after 20 years, one daughter, who was 16 at the time, has forgiven those who shot her father and killed her mother because she has been born again. This teenager saw her mother (innocent, by all appearances, holding a 10-month-old infant) shot in the head in cold blood by a U.S. government sniper, because her husband had sold two illegally sawed-off shotguns to an undercover agent. Guilt by association. Executed for the crime of being married to a man who allegedly held “anti-government” beliefs. Remember? Consider the irony. Those people were under siege and shot, but what happens to those who ran the gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious, who are responsible for the deaths of at least hundreds of Mexicans and two U.S. agents? So far, nothing.

          • Also the news article I have said Anna Weir also went to Thomas Jefferson High school in San Antonio, which is where I find a Mary Avis Weir of 1961. I think Anna would have graduated around 1958, then gone to S. Western University. Duke ,as was her name by 1962 til 1970, went to Chicago in 1967 to work with the poor slums on some project….this is where she saw poverty and such that made her become the radical. I wonder what else she did in Chicago in 1967….remember the Days of Rage and much more wass happening in Chicago in 1967. Anyway, by 1968 she was enrolled in University of N. Texas in Denton Texas and this is where she worked on her phd. and did student teaching and some time I’ll put some copies of her court cases concerning Texas U. and her radical behavior. It’s her writings that are so interesting in these court cases. Her writings in the papers and flyers she put out. Then her rants about all the men at the University. What she says hit a memory nerve and I’ll expound on that when I find some other old articles of Ruth N. to compare the wording.
good night for now. Sleep well everyone and hope you can help me in the morning.

      • alfy, you can use WordPress to set up a private blog. Then you can invite others to join it. Then you can collaborate there without the public seeing what you do. It works just like this blog, only nobody but the members can see it. Actually, you could do the same via email. Many do, apparently.

    • I have a post ready for this work but there is no “publish” button right now on WP to publish ? It is missing from both sides of our blog. Anyone know what the problem is ? It was like this all day yesterday as well.

  7. Ok, really? SOJOURNERS?!?! those were the very first words of Obama’s book, written long before his presidential run, but don’t worry, he’s not a radical, no communist here, nope, just move along!

“For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers.”
    1 CHRONICLES 29:15

    http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/groupProfile.asp?grpid=7018

wallis, wright, liberation theology, collectivism, imperial u.s. – all encapsulated in that little quote, but the media was blind and the nation napped. we must undo this in November.

    from wiki:
“Sojourners magazine was originally published under the name “The Post American,” coming out of the Sojourners Community. The name was changed to “Sojourners” in 1975, when the community moved from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois to Columbia Heights in Washington, D.C.. The mission of Sojourners is “to articulate the biblical call to social justice, inspiring hope and building a movement to transform individuals, communities, the church, and the world
Over the years, Sojourners has provided leadership and support to various other activities including the Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign, the Free South Africa movement, and opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, among other concerns.
Sojourners CEO Wallis served as a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Community Partnerships, which advises the president and White House staff on a range of concerns.
Then-Sen. Barack Obama gave his first major speech on the subject of religion in the public sphere at Sojourners’ Call to Renewal conference in 2006, talking about his personal faith journey and his vision for people of faith in public life.
Wallis is currently the chair for the Global Agenda Council on Values at the World Economic Forum, which is launching a moral economy dialogue to bring together faith leaders and top executives to advance the values that should inform the global economy.
Sojourners informed and mobilized faith leaders and their grassroots constituents to help pass financial reform through Congress. Faith leaders called for increasing funding from Congress to help the most vulnerable communities worldwide who are affected by climate change

Sojourners served as a lead organization building support for Health care reform. President Obama and Wallis spoke on a teleconference call about health-care reform

anyway, page 7 on the scribd link:
“Tutu, Toot for short; it means “grandparent” in Hawaiian, for she decided on the day I was born that she was still too young tobe called Granny.) Gramps scowls but decides to ignore her.”
maybe he used Tut in the yearbook because in hawaii it is understood it was the short for Tutu and pronounced toot, but for the book he changed it because the haoles would say it like King Tut. assuming there’s any truth in it to begin with, of course. lol.

    • Good catch about “sojourners”. I noticed in the new preface that he neglects to mention that he was given an advance to write about race relations, not about himself and his family. But he could write only about his favorite subject–himself. Gotta love that part about how state politics has no “glamour” and how one “labors largely in obscurity.” In his case, he labored not at all because (1) he simply took the work of others and put his name on it and (2) he voted “present” most of the time. Not very hard work, if you can get it because of the (alleged) color of your skin. I wonder how Ayers felt when he read what Barry said about his writing, upon reviewing it for the new edition? “Poorly chosen word?” Ouch. Especially coming from he who cannot pronounce corps. He can’t “HONESTLY say that the VOICE” in the book isn’t his. Yes, the voice; but not the actual words. Honestly. The words AREN’T his, are they? btw, there are several articles on the Web informing us that there is no “T” in the Hawaiian language. Therefore, how can Tutu be their word for granny? It seems to have suddenly appeared on websites, in typical obot fashion, when it became necessary to validate Obama’s stories. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_can_Tutu_be_Hawaiian_for_grandmother_when_there_is_no_letter_T_in_the_Hawaiian_alphabet That’s a typical rationalization. If you look at some of the sites in the Wayback Machine, Tutu suddenly showed up around 2005. There are other names for grandmother given before that time. We looked into that before, too. Actually, the articles say the nickname is Kuku.

      • I know someone whose Hawaiin. her family is still there. i’ll ask her about the T

On 2 July 1955, Tutu married Nomalizo Leah Shenxane, a teacher whom he had met while at college. They had four children: Trevor Thamsanqa Tutu, Theresa Thandeka Tutu, Naomi Nontombi Tutu and Mpho Andrea Tutu, all of whom attended the Waterford Kamhlaba School in Swaziland.[5]

His son, Trevor Tutu, caused a bomb scare at East London Airport in 1989 and was arrested. In 1991, he was convicted of contravening the Civil Aviation Act by falsely claiming there had been a bomb on board a South African Airways’ plane at East London Airport.[6] The bomb threat delayed the Johannesburg-bound flight for more than three hours, costing South African Airways some R28000. At the time, Trevor Tutu announced his intention to appeal against his sentence, but failed to arrive for the appeal hearings. He forfeited his bail of R15000.[6] He was due to begin serving his sentence in 1993, but failed to hand himself over to prison authorities. He was finally arrested in Johannesburg in August 1997. He applied for amnesty from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission which was granted in 1997. He was then released from Goodwood Prison in Cape Town where he had begun serving his three-and-a-half year prison sentence after a court in East London refused to grant him bail.[7]

Naomi Tutu founded the Tutu Foundation for Development and Relief in Southern Africa, based in Hartford, Connecticut. She attended the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky and has followed in her father’s footsteps as a human rights activist. She is currently a program coordinator for the Race Relations Institute at Fisk University, in Nashville, Tennessee.[8] Desmond Tutu’s other daughter, Mpho Tutu, has also followed in her father’s footsteps and in 2004 was ordained an Episcopal priest by her father.[9] She is also the founder and executive director of the Tutu Institute for Prayer and Pilgrimage and the chairperson of the board of the Global AIDS Alliance.

    • There was so much garbage in O’s book, I guess I overlooked the Sojourners stuff. But to the point …that Jim Wallis is anything other than a Social Justice Communist Evangelical….We should have been giving out this info long ago, I guess,…..Here’s a bit on Sojourners. and then here’s what one has to say about Jim Wallace and his communist marxist Evangelism http://thecahokian.blogspot.com/2012/06/lessons-of-sojourner-truth-organization.html
this second article, I think is a good one http://standupforthetruth.com/2011/10/jim-wallis-another-hijacker-of-evangelicalism/
Thanks for bringing up Sojourner’s .there are some finer points in these articles that demonstrate the mental thinking of the white rads of the sixties…like Bill Ayers and by what I’ve read of Elizabeth Duke, this thinking fits her as well.

      • Guess we shouldn’t forget either that Gamaliel is based squarely on these social justice reliousity premises of course Bill Ayers was once (and may still be) the head of that organization. It’s sad really that there are probably many good intentioned folks in these type organaizations who just want to do good and don’t see the difference in liberation theology/social justice (new communism/new marxist theology) and the teachings in the scriptures. I like one of these articles that says ‘Jesus was not a socialist’.

        • The progressives use those evangelicals and other religious groups for their own ends. They learn to speak their language and they infiltrate. It’s how they duped so many of the Catholic hierarchy into supporting Obama last time, because of his “social justice” lies, when he pretended to care about “immigrants” and the “poor”.

I hope they wake up this time and vote Obama and the progressives out. They need to realize that it doesn’t serve the poor or anyone to KILL THE GOOSE THAT LAYS THE GOLDEN EGG. Under communism, which is what these progressives want, ALL ARE POOR. Under capitalism, wealth is created that supplies jobs and opportunities for everyone. Everyone has a chance to EARN a piece of the pie and those who don’t still, as “poor” in the USA, have a far higher standard of living than the “rich” in many countries. How many poor folks in Africa have big-screen TVs, air conditioning, running water, indoor toilets, dishwashers, cars, etc.? NONE. In Kenya, Granny Sarah is considered wealthy. Look at her house. She only just now got a paved road and electricity. Obama’s brother George is TRULY poor, living in his corrugated metal hut. That’s Obama’s vision for all of us (except for the elite like himself, who plan to live large, like Corazon Aquino).

      • This blog mentions Sojourners and Jim Wallis. http://rbo2.com/2012/04/22/danette-clark-the-reparation-agenda-obamas-religion-of-reparations-false-prophets-in-the-white-house/

The author has an entire series of articles (linked from within that one above) about how Obama uses these (supposedly) religious people and appointments he makes to advance the cause of REPARATIONS.

HOUSTON (Reuters) – North Carolina officials late Friday launched two investigations into the surprising move by Duke Energy Corp directors to replace former Progress Energy Chief Executive Bill Johnson with Duke CEO Jim Rogers, just a day after a deal to create the largest U.S. utility company was finalized.

The North Carolina Utilities Commission, which approved Duke’s $18 billion buyout of Progress late last week, ordered Rogers to appear at a hearing Tuesday to answer questions on the timing of the decision to replace Johnson, the commission said in a two-page order.

Roy Cooper, attorney general in North Carolina where both companies are based, opened an investigation and ordered Duke officials to produce merger-related documents from board members and senior managers of both companies from as far back as January 2011.

“This significant management change within hours after the merger has put the company on credit watch, so we need to get to the bottom of this to make sure we protect consumers,” Cooper said in a statement.

The attorney general requested “all documents or communications that discuss the prospective chief executive officer of the merged entity” and “any discussion of any effort or plan for James E. Rogers to be the chief executive officer of such merged entity.”

The agency also seeks documents that “identify or assess risks and/or impacts,” such as financial, investor or regulatory associated with a change of management after the merger.

A Duke spokesman said Rogers would be at the commission hearing Tuesday and the company was evaluating the request for documents from the attorney general.

The investigations followed public comment earlier Friday by Progress’s former lead director that Duke directors acted in “bad faith” when it replaced Johnson.

Duke completed the buyout of Progress on Monday, and on Tuesday the Duke board announced that Johnson, who had been slated to run the combined company, was leaving by “mutual agreement.”

The decision came as a surprise to many Duke shareholders, Wall Street analysts, and utility commissions that had approved the deal

McKinsey & Company was founded in Chicago in 1926 by James O. (“Mac”) McKinsey as James O. McKinsey and Company. Previously, McKinsey served as an accounting professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is considered the father of managerial accounting. In 1935 Marshall Field’s became a client and in 1935 convinced McKinsey to leave the firm and become its CEO. This led to a merger between James O. McKinsey and Company and Scovell, Wellington & Company as McKinsey, Wellington & Company. The new firm had both an accounting practice and a management engineering practice.[citation needed]

In 1937 James O. McKinsey died unexpectedly of pneumonia, which led to the division of McKinsey, Wellington & Company in 1939. C. Oliver Wellington returned to manage Scovell, Wellington & Company full time and took the accounting practice with him. The management engineering practice was split into two affiliated firms: McKinsey & Company and McKinsey, Kearney & Company. McKinsey & Company was led by Guy Crockett, Dick Fletcher, and Marvin Bower. McKinsey, Kearney & Company was led by Andrew Thomas Kearney.[citation needed]

By 1952 McKinsey & Company formally parted ways with McKinsey, Kearney & Company, which was renamed A.T. Kearney & Company. At the time, McKinsey was led by Bower as then-managing director; he had joined the firm in 1933 and served as managing director from 1950 to 1967. During his tenure he oversaw the firm’s rise to global prominence and established many of its guiding principles. After formally leaving McKinsey in 1967, he continued to provide guidance and counsel to the firm for many years.

Ron Daniel was Bower’s protégé, and managing director from 1976 to 1988. As of 2004, he remained a senior partner and “bridge between McKinsey’s founding generation and the present.”[7]. Daniel mentored Rajat Gupta, who mentored Anil Kumar, who advised current managing director Dominic Barton. Gupta and Kumar were later entangled in the Galleon scandal, described as the firm’s most significant crisis to date.[8]

The subsequent managing directors following Daniel were Frederick Gluck (1988–1994), Rajat Gupta (1994–2003), Ian Davis(2003–2009), and the present managing director, Dominic Barton (2009-present)

Andrew Thomas Kearney (1892–1962) was the founder of A.T. Kearney, one of the world’s oldest management consulting firms.

Andrew Thomas Kearney joined James O. McKinsey’s firm 3 years after it was founded in 1926.[1] Andrew Thomas Kearney was McKinsey’s first partner and head of its first office in Chicago. At the time, McKinsey & Company was one of the few firms that focused on management consulting for top level executives rather than specialized consulting in areas such as accounting or law.

In 1937 James O. McKinsey died unexpectedly at the age of 48 due to pneumonia. While the company continued to operate as before, Andrew Thomas Kearney and the remaining partners disagreed over how to run the firm. In 1939, the company was split. Andrew Thomas Kearney continued to operate the Chicago office, renaming the firm McKinsey and Kearney. Marvin Bower, the head of the New York office, continued the practice in New York and retained the rights to the name McKinsey & Company in all areas other than the Midwest. In 1947, Bower purchased the exclusive rights to the name McKinsey & Company from Tom Kearney, who renamed his firm A.T. Kearney & Associates.[2]

In 1961, Tom Kearney retired and James Phelan became the managing partner of the firm. Tom Kearney, died on January 11, 1962.

According to Andrew Thomas Kearney, “Our success as consultants will depend upon the essential rightness of the advice we give and our capacity for convincing those in authority that it is good.”

  12. Obama’s uncle flies in for Horse Show as guest of sheikh
    Friday August 07 2009

Mr Saed Obama is here to relax for a few days and to talk about the Sarah Hussein Obama Trust of which here he is chairman. “The trust was founded after Barack became president and we want to restore the family home in Kongelo where his family lived and Barack stayed, and we want to help the poor people of not just my country but other countries,”

Sheikh Mirdad, a Saudi-born businessman and he is related to many of the royal families of the Middle East and brokered deals worth billions there, is also introducing Mr Obama to philanthropists and the royal families in the Middle East (he is related to most of them) and Europe to raise funds for the trust.

  13. Ummm, where would he have “just graduated from” in 1987?

  14. The article on Said Obama says he met Barack in 1987 when he visited …wait, here’s the quote:

“Barack first visited us in Kongelo in 1987, I think he was 25 at the time and had just graduated and I took him to where his father was buried,” he said.

    • Oh, sorry. I scanned the article for “graduated” but it didn’t highlight it. My browser is goofy. I didn’t have time to read the article yet. That’s the “official story”. That he first went there in the late 80s, after David died and when he was 25. They don’t want to admit that he was in Kenya when he was much younger.

    • Do you see the not-so-good doctor there, talking about Barry? They pulled it out of their rears that this is the machine that scanned Barry’s LFCOLB. Gee, seems it would be RATHER simple to determine whether the WH possesses such a machine. I’m done, however, with analyzing those so-called “documents”. The scans are meaningless. The ORIGINAL, AUTHENTICATED, PAPER DOCUMENT IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS and so far, NOBODY, BUT NOBODY, has seen it.
